Just round the corner from a new art gallery where I went to the opening
I liked wandering around looking at the very unusual decor. I really enjoyed the attention to detail. The pizza I got from their restaurant in Riebeek Kasteel - Porta Via - was excellent and the decor there also fascinated me.
Wonderfull old mamor with a modern touch. Tranquil garden. Very comfortable, quiet and exellent hosts. Recommended for sure.
What's not to like?
The antique piano at lounge gave my child a very good performance. The host prepared a warm fireplace when we stepped in the house from the winter rain, you can imagine our feeling.🥰🥰
It was nice and couzy. Had a homey feel.
Warm fire in the lounge.
Hosts very friendly and helpful. Beautiful home and serene gardens.
It was beautiful setting at the foot of the mountains. The owners had very much a personal involve ment and made you feel right at home!
The owners were warm, friendly and welcoming . They have taken an old house and modernised it but have still kept its old charm. This place has so much character and charm and is worth every cent. We the went to ports Via which they are involved in and had a world class meal and experienced a taste of Belgium Where Philippe and Inge are from. I highly recommend De Stoep
We absolutely loved our stay at De Stoepe! It felt like home away from home. Everything was neat and tidy and the rooms were big and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful too! The hosts were amazing and very friendly and so accommodating which made our stay even more enjoyable! I would definitely recommend De Stoepe to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! An extra star to the most mouthwatering authentic homemade pizzas and pastas they serve at their restaurant Porto Via was to die for. Reminded me when I was in Italy, buonissimo! Complimeti allo chef 😋😋
Liked everything about the place, 10 out of 10 +++
Location and layout were great
Location was good, easy access and check in with good parking. Well maintained period building.
The person that greeted us explained that they could not give us the room originally booked and gave us a room with a 'private' bathroom across the corridor which iwas misleading on the site as there are no ensuite bathrooms and we were not notified in advance that our original booking could not be honoured and thus gave us no opportunity to cancel or make other arrangements. The room did not have air conditioning as specified on site but only a fan. It was a very hot night!
Everything the location is outstanding ,it's very relaxing and Inge is a very nice lady..The kids loved the pool and we already miss Kira...She's a very lovely, kind hearted girl❤️🤗...
Only problem is it's not self catering... I really like my own kitchen.
Loved the big stoep and host was very friendly and helpful 👌
Absolutely everything, our hosts Inge and Phillip were fantastic, even got complimentary wine and Keira was lovely to, peaceful and quite x
Can't complain about anything.
Delightful hosts. Enjoyed our stay.
Our cell phone, for some reason or another, could not make contact with the hosts - probably the fault of our phone - no reflection on the hosts. This made entry a little difficult but, with the help of a friendly neighbour, it was sorted out pretty quickly.
Philippe and Inge were fantastic hosts - very kind, hospitable and accommodating.. It is not a B&B or a self-catering establishment, however Philippe provided plates and cutlery and warmed up our Pizza which we brought along. Beautiful historical guesthouse at the foot of Kasteel mountain with wooden floorboards. Spacious bedroom and private bathroom across the room. We found unexpected complimentary surprises in room. One can enjoy the lovely lush garden with citrus trees as there is outdoor seating. Secure parking.

I loved everything. It's quiet, the garden is a pleasure to be in, the house is stunning with old wooden floors. And the location makes it easy to use the guesthouse as a base, from where you can do day trips to wherever you feel like.
I would have loved to be able to have breakfast here, but it's no a deal-breaker 😊
Peaceful and quiet
Beautiful old house. Pleasant hosts.
For a B&B it lacked a B. No breakfast on offer. Also no en-suite bathroom.
Very pretty garden
Not enough milk for the tea and coffee.Pillows uncomfortable.
The beds were very comfortable and the lounge area was nicely set up. The hosts were very friendly and nice.
Thank you Philippe and Inge for a wonderful stay. Your attention to detail is noticed and appreciated. Regards Joos and Cindy

Gracious old home
We loved the beautiful historic home, the most hospitable family and friendly dogs. It was a great stopover en route to see the flowers. The host organised the delivery of excellent pizza's from his restaurant so that we could eat in. Everything is clean and comfortable. We highly recommend De Stoep.
Nothing
The warm welcome fire was a nice touch to make us feel welcome. Our hosts was very welcoming and attentive to what we needed for our stay.
Not something that we want to complain about ( or did not like ) but more of a note for future. Some nice big towels for the bathrooms would be nice.
The hose is amazing. 170 years old with high ceilings and beautiful wooden floors.

Cosy and warm
It was cosy and very tranquil. The host was friendly and made sure we were comfortable and warm. The fire place was a bonus. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Lounge was nice and cozy...with fire going. Very spacious and clean. Lovely place with a big stop. Phillipe, the owner very hospitable.
The single duvets in the room, would have appreciated double or queen size bedding for couples. Everything else was great.
A very Cosy place. Secure parking.
The fireplace really made a difference as we were there in the midst of a storm, the room was spacious and comfortable and perfectly suited our uneven requirements with 3 adults.
We have nothing negative to report.
Location
Late, poor standard
Homely atmosphere and the hosts where very welcoming
Breakfast was amazing!! Our stay was very welcoming, accommodating and comfortable. Booking and communication with the hosts was easy. Thank you Philippe and Inge! Loved the doggos too.
Really well appointed! En suite was 5 🌟. The owners, Phillipe and Inge were great! Warm and welcoming! Loved their 2 dogs who gave us as warm a welcome as their owners and managed to give me some well needed exercise! 🤣 Really pleasant and relaxing surroundings! Having the use of a HUGE tv to watch a movie to relax after a bit of a taxing drive from Langebaan (really heavy wind) it was great! Thank you so much!
Nothing!
We were really spoiled with fresh fruit and good wine. Our host went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
The ambience, the host, the accommodation. Attention to detail was great. Lovely location

Lovely little place that we have visited. The tranquility was awesome. The gentleman who owns the guesthouse made sure we were comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits the region
the owners was amazing and very friendly, they made us felt like home
The hosts were very friendly and had two friendly dogs. Inge went out of the way to accomodate special requests for breakfast. We had rented two rooms and one of the rooms did not have an attached bathroom, but a separate one outside designated for the room. There are few good restaurants in the next village.

Great hosts, clean and beautiful gardens. Safe environment

Location is very good. The rooms very n8ce. Hospitality is outstanding.
Pleasant welcome and great atmosphere. Lovely accommodation ambiance.
Couldn’t get the ceiling fan to work without the light staying on.
The “stoep”, garden and ryspoeding.
The shower in the bath set-up. Normal shower is better.
The dogs, the garden, breakfast and the room
Nothing that I didn't like
How lucky are we to have found this place! Beautiful old house but well kept, luscious garden and lovely town. They accommodated us on short notice but we honestly cannot fault this place. Lovely owners! Thank you for hosting us - we will definitely be back!
It was very peaceful and we just felt at home. Everything was clean and comfortable. The hostess was most graceful and friendly and we got the warmest welcome from the rescue dogs.
My stay was too short
Did not have. Cosy lounge. Dry towels.
Microwave in room.
The room was big enough for 3 people. There was ample blankets for the cold weather. Owner was friendly and welcoming!
The bathroom was not in the room. It was unexpected because nothing was mentioned on the booking app. It's really not very nice to meet unknown people in the hallway, early in the morning, if you have to leave your room to visit the bathroom. It made us nervous!
Extra mile: Welcoming fire in lounge Glass of wine Warm atmosphere
Stay was to short
The rooms were exceptionally clean and theu were very welcoming and accommodative.
On the website it said there was WIFI,but none of that was mentioned. No WIFI password was offered or mentioned anywhere.
Absolutely amazing place with lovely hosts!!!
Phillipe and Inge went out of their way to provide an outstanding stay for us while on a business trip nearby. Exceptionally accommodating with late night arrivals over the course of a week, outstanding meals, friendly natured and an overall fantastic experience. New preferred accommodation in Riebeek Wes for sure.
The owner was very friendly and helpful on arrival. He made sure that all we required were available, even a complimentary bottle of wine. The house is a beautifully restored old building with a very welcoming feel.
The place was very comfortable, when we arrived back to the accomodation there was always a warm fire going. Phillipe was very accomodating. Location was in a queit space but close enough to walk to a restuarant and the shops.
The accommodation, the house architecture, the town.
Our room was beautiful and the beds were super comfy. The hosts, Inge and Philippe, were absolutely lovely and they did everything possible to make our stay an amazing one. The house is 150 years old, but it is looked after so well, and the property is stunning. We will definitely stay here again if we get back to the area in future!
There is nothing we didn't like.
Did not have breakfast Was good for sole. Enjoyed garden
