Very nice staff. Nice food served, Room was ok for what we paid.
Outside looks very rundown when arrived,
The staff were pleasant. The bed was very comfortable.
I was ‘upgraded’ from a single room to a double. If my room was an upgrade, I dread to think what the single room was like! I was told I wasn’t in the main hotel building but across the carpark in another building. On entering the other building (Old Stables) I felt very isolated and being a lone woman, didn’t feel very safe. I would have felt safer within the main hotel building. The carpets on the stairs were grubby. I entered my room which was boiling hot and had a fan running. It ran for the duration of my visit as the room became unbearably hot. No aircon. The room was grubby. Stain on wall above the bed head, marked furniture, knob missing off wardrobe door, splashes up the side of wardrobe from previous tea making. Bathroom was grubby. There was a crack in the shower tray which had been badlyfilled with filler. There was a dirty looking shower curtain in the place of where it looked like there used to be a screen but just the frame remained. The walls around the light switches were dirty. The carpets felt grubby and I found a screw and child’s plastic toy on the floor under the bed. The decor and furniture were very dated. It was very busy in the hotel as there was a wedding going on. The following morning, there was a man sitting in the beer garden having a loud argument over the phone, which I could hear from my room. Parking was very difficult as there were limited spaces. During breakfast, a child was riding his scooter in the breakfast room and refused to get off when asked by staff. The breakfast itself was ok & the staff were very pleasant.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good
Our room was in the ground floor because my husband is disabled and we were unable to keep the window open as It was kept closed by a piece of wood. It was extremely hot in the room. Our room was kept clean but the lobby in the Stables was not hovered all the time we were there.
It was homely and friendly
The breakfast was awful, the toaster is antiquated and the coffee was stewed
Food was excellent
Main hotel was very tired, needed some upgrades

Happy Staff and good selection. Location
all good
Good breakfast
Difficult to find using post code very frustrating
Lovely old building, perhaps due for a bit of tlc in places, but suited our needs well. Good staff, very good food.
Some electric car chargers will be very welcome
The location and free parking
The hotel seemed to be dated and is of need of an upgrade.
Meals
The service could be better at meal times
Friendly staff, food good value.
Our room had a high step up into bathroom which was a bit of problem at our ages in the night. Although plenty of tea and coffee sachets in room, only 4 milk sachets which meant had to drink tea black in morning as I didn't want to get dressed and run down to reception before having drink and shower.
No air con
The staff where lovely and welcoming
A bit run down and to have a plank of wood in window frame was so bad to stop it being opened and also you can hear the people above you the floors really creek
Lovely buildings
Bad unloved interiors
The staff were lovely and helpful
Room bit dated.High bed but didnt sleep that well throughout my stay.Would return if that way again though.
Great
Best hotel I've stayed in I will definitely be back in the future
Great rooms and good value
The Manor is an absolutely lovely place to stay, the staff are all so lovely and accommodating, we extended our stay for an additional night. The bedrooms are lovely, clean and practical. The food in the restaurant is delicious, would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely hotel.
I have absolutely no faults
Toilet was broken
Too dark
Staff and food/drink was really good and staff at reception, bar and in restaurant (evening meal) could not have been more helpful. Nice atmosphere.
What really lets the hotel down (and I have stayed here before a few years back) is that it is now really tatty and needs a thorough renovation. Carpets are threadbare, the floor in my bathroom (room 54) is obviously rotten and is being held up by the vinyl floor covering. paint is peeling, one window did not open and generally not very clean. My room did not have any USB sockets (which should be a given these days) but fortunately one of your staff went out of her way to find a plug in converter from reception. Staff could not be faulted but at £99/night room only, the hotel part was not really worth it. I needed to stay in the centre of town and that is why I chose the Manor but came away thinking that if I took my wife there for a hotel break she would not be happy and would not want to stay there. There is so much potential with this hotel and it could be a really lovely venue and place to stay in the centre of Yeovil. Hopefully by the next time I come to stay I will be pleasantly surprised.
Room was dated, bed not very comfortable
The reception staff were so welcoming and extremely helpful as were all the staff
Location, parking, bar area
Very small, a Contractors bedroom, worn out furniture, massive damp patch on ceiling, damaged paint, shower rail came apart in my hands, thermostatic shower going from cold to scolding, a little tlc, would made it a ideal cheaper value room
A lovely friendly comfortable hotel with lots of character we have been coming here off and on for years as a mini break.
Nothing
Fantastic food and staff
Very comfy but pretty dated rooms and bathrooms. Fine for the price
Locataion was superb
rooms were dated and rundown
The property was lovely clean and comfortable and the location was perfect the waitress at breakfast was friendly and polite and the food was ok
The receptionist at check in was rude and made us wait around without an explanation, the bar staff on the evening were very miserable we were told to drink up at 10.20 as they was closing although we were told the bar closed at 11 she just said oh well !! The only time she smiled was when she was serving a group of lads and when she put the shutters down , morning receptionist was rude never spoke and grunted when my partner handed the key back
Location
Sadly the building itself is in serious need of renovation above ground floor level, especially guest rooms & corridors. Main house is better, stables need complete overhaul/renovation, temperature in upper levels of both was appalling & sash windows limited opening due to safety precautions. Staff did their best to make our stay acceptable & moved us into the main building, but this hotel needs major investment to bring it to an acceptable standard, lovely old building that is in desperate need of renovation.
Breakfast was excellent. With an extensive choice of continental (self serve) then a choice of cooked to order breakfasts, you wont leave hungry!
The hotel needs some TLC now but it is kept spotless and did not upset my stay.
Staff
No air con or cooling in rooms, fans was provided but didn't make any difference. windows did not open or if they did they only opened a fraction rooms completely over heated
Staff were friendly & knowledgeable
The car park was very busy
Staff were helpful and friendly and room very clean.
Room bit dated and too hot, a fan would have been helpful. So consequently didn't sleep well.
Friendly staff, clean and spacious room with free parking on site. There was nothing to change apart from the heat in the room for which fans were provided and it was out of their control. I wouldn’t ever hesitate to stay again. It was 5* service and the staff actually cared from check in to checkout 👌
Staff & cleanliness were super. Pub & restaurant looked nice but didn't use. Cooked breakfast was lovely. Accessibility was OK. Lift in main building for bar & food access (not for upper floors, only level change). The Stables had ground floor rooms but note doorways etc standard & only compact wheelchairs could manoeuvre. Rooms (we saw 3) were tired but clean, functional & comfy. Competitively priced for area. Yvonne & Sue (Andy & Andy) helped with a leak from damage to room above us.
No accessible/wet room or shower only bathrooms - not one! As above: The Stables doorways etc were standard & only compact wheelchairs could manoeuvre or get around in room. Surprised that a major chain hasn't made at least one room wheelchair friendly - shame on you Greene King. No aircon & fan supplied didn't really deal with heatwave so room was very hot. We were travelling with dogs & I had to take them into the car 2 mornings as room was too hot even with fan & window open. Perhaps in cold or 'normal' UK weather temperature in room might be OK. Leak issue was beyond their control & was generally handled well. Yvonne was super. Sue (housekeeping /cleaning staff) was great too & helpful - she even helped with our room change! However, Richard was in the background & I assume trusted Yvonne to apologise & sort things (which she did) but as it catastrophically impacted my disabled partner (5.30am rise & physical demands of early morning room change), help to clear-up leak & a personal apology from the manager (Richard) on site from 6.30am would've been more professional.
Lovely hotel right in the centre of Yeovil, nice beer garden with plenty of seating. Really welcoming and helpful staff in a great location, free parking and close to all amenities in the town.
Hotel is lovely but tired in places, needs some updating.
Restaurant staff great helpful but 1 or 2 staff bit abrupt when asked a question
The hotel web page says bar open but you can't get service till 11 am
Lovely
Not great internet
Friendly staff, comfortable bed and beautiful white linen and towels. Food good and plentiful
Very dated and in need of an upgrade
The breakfast and the lunch (you could have the same menu in the evening) were scrumptious. The welcome from the receptionist was great. Bar staff and waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Nice room and lovely to have a bath as well as a shower over. Comfortable bed. TV and coffee etc. Plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space. Parking.
The fan was very efficient but air con may have psychologically improved the room.
It was very clean and friendly staff. I just wondered if they could have included an option to add your evening meal to the room price.
Unfortunately it needs a bit of work as there was peeling wallpaper and carpets that were threadbare in places.
Faded, very noisy, wedding on so we’re put in the stables as it was supposed to be quiet. It wasn’t, it was on the car park and in the early Sunday morning the ancillary vehicles with reversing beeping delivered laundry. With metal cages being moved
Noise
Breakfast was good , staff were not welcoming or pleasant. We were with a wedding party and the wait for breakfast was 30 mins
Staff during breakfast were rude . Receptionist was polite and helpful . Some bar staff during the evening reception were not particularly friendly or helpful .
Bar staff and waitress really friendly
Breakfast staff looked like they didn't want to be there. I had a top floor room (33) old wooden windows that didn't shut properly, Shower had little strength.
We booked this hotel as a last minute emergency due to our car breaking down and not being able to get home that evening. The hotel was very accommodating especially as we had our two little dogs in tow. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were spacious and clean and it provided us with the respite we needed at a difficult time. It was also during the extremely hot weather so the fan in the room was greatly appreciated! The staff was also very friendly and understanding.
The only negative impact we had on our stay was the fact that there was no lift available to take us and our luggage up to the rooms as my parents suffer with joint issues. However this is not the hotels fault as it's a listed building and the only rooms they had available were on the top floor. We appreciated being able to stay all the same and the positives far outweigh this. Just something to consider for other people who may book with joint issues.
Near to town centre nice food comfortable
Nothing
Food was exceptional, staff friendly and room very nice

Good food ,lovely staff ,dog friendly , woukd stay again .
Room was a bit hot , they did have a fan in there .
Great location
Older property in need of renovation
We had a lovely stay at the Manor. The facilities were clean, the staff were polite and the breakfast was exceptional.
Close to where we needed to be. The staff were very good. The room and bed were clean, the free parking is a bonus.
The room we were in was right at the top of the hotel and was absolutely boiling, to the point it was almost impossible to sleep. The decor is shabby, the whole place needs work. Also one key apparently opens all doors, a massive security risk and did not make me feel safe.
The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The staff on reception were very helpful in changing my elderly mother’s room for one on the ground floor. Loved the fact that there was an ironing board and iron in every room. We all enjoyed the breakfast on offer.
Easy to get to, good food & friendly staff.
A bit outdated but comfortable.
Short walk to Yeovil town centre and only 5 minutes to Tesco extra. Friendly and helpful staff on reception. Of course, part of a Green King pub so good food and drinks on hand. Good value breakfast
Decor is a bit dated and tired, e.g. thread bare carpets, old paint etc.
Dinner and breakfast were extremely nice. The staff were nice and friendly.
The rooms were extremely warm and the shower was difficult as hot water was leaking out of it. The radiator was on so was making the room even warmer.
It’s position and the excellent staff
Not air conditioned
Good location to town. Nice room size. Food in restaurant was very good.
Due to hot weather, the fan provided was too small for the room, to make much difference to temperature. Unable to open windows very wide. Staff in restaurant were the weak point. Not enough to cater for all the tables. First evening - no rump steak available Last evening meal - no Sunday roast at 19.30 available. Long wait between ordering, receiving food and being able to order dessert. Bar prices very expensive and staff unfriendly. Too much ice in glasses, despite request several times, to have less. Carpets threadbare in places, water temperature fluctuated so much at times only able to have a tepid shower.
Enjoyed the authenticity of the place. Even if paint was chipping it was good to see sliding windows .
The staff were all fantastic, the location was perfect for us, the food was great, a good selection beers and ciders(and alcohol free drinks). The room was just what we like, not too fussy but everything you might need.
Nothing to dislike.
Comfortable bed, spotless linen, spotless towels, nice staff, good parking
Went for dinner at 7.40 to be told the kitchen was closing! At 7.40?? Channels 81 and 60 not available - why? Not happy about having to give my card details although full payment had been made in advance Sloping floor in bedroom very disorientating
Bedding was clean. Service for breakfast was good
Decor in need of repair and updating Food in the evening was disappointing as was the service in the restaurant in the evening.
Check in was okay, that was about it, however some of the staff were polite.
Cleanliness of everything Even my pint class was in a terrible state The room was in the attic - didnt feel or look clean and was extremely uncomfortable in the heat
Nothing really
A bit grotty
Bar and Restaurant and staff very helpful. Food very good service excellent. Outside seating
No aircon Bar and Restaurant were in good order but rooms and bathrooms could do with a “refresh” it needs some investment. Beer Garden nice but furniture needs updating.
Lovely old building
Very tired and in drastic need of TLC.
Great hotel and ideal location.
No air conditioning, but grade 2 listed. Thankfully there was a fan in the room.
Location cleanliness and comfort
Clean, comfortable room. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Evening meal was good value.
Was a very hot day and the room was quite warm overnight. The staff had turned a fan on in the room prior to my arrival, so best efforts had been made,
Nice building on the outside
Inside has aged and is in need of a refurb, found insect repellent underneath the 40 year old bed, not good
The location. The staff were helpful and friendly. The shower was good and very welcome in the heat.
The hotel has a long history with Yeovil but has become a little jaded and perhaps needs some renovation. However, on my next trip to Yeovil I would use it again.
Good location for work visit
This venue tired and really starting to show its age . The rooms were sweltering hot with no aircon and just a fan provided. Bed was rock hard - worst nights sleep ever! The bar had run out of tribute ale before the England game even started - poor form.
Location
Menu change whilst waiting for order
Location, Friendly staff
Nil
quiet at night and decent menu also available in beer garden
So very hot, with window opening severely restricted. Good decision to omit quilt on bed!!
Spacious room, nice breakfast
Dirty carpet and couch in room, hot in summer- no AC
The staff were lovely… they were very friendly and kind. Nothing was too much for them and they were so nice…. Thank you for your positive attitude. The location was perfect and close to the golf course and the tables outside were perfect.
Great location and friendly staff
Old facility - VERY hot on upper floors and only a small fan provided. No cold water from the shower. Room floor had a significant slope
Great location for a stop over. Easy parking. Food v good. Staff v helpful. Near shops etc.
It’s getting a bit worn around the edges. Locals a bit shifty.
The restaurant and bar areas are great. Food is really good. Location is great
The room was a little dated and very hot and stuffy in the heatwave. They did provide a portable fan but it was pretty inadequate. The handbasin was cracked and the toilet oddly positioned too close to the wall but did the job.
Staff were very nice
Room was dated and not super clean Lighting in the rooms was dingy Very overpriced for what it is
Staff friendly and very helpful, although the room was a bit compact they had provided a fan as it was a heat wave, the room was clean, was a comfortable stay Good parking facilities and close to town.
The room could do with updating and a bit of a refresh
It was a lovely quiet place to stay and it was very comfortable and food was nice.
The decor was really bad it needs a revamp as it’s a shame as it could be a beautiful building it’s just the paint work and paper was coming off and made it look very untidy.
Great location to family
One of the lights in the room was not working, only found out in the morning when I went to switch it on
The choice of breakfast was ok.
I had smoked Saigon with scrambled eggs. Small portions.
Garden
Very tired decor, needs redecorating .
The staff were nice & food we had in the main building was lovely.
The look of the building as you drove into the carpark was very shabby & in great need of an update! Our room was at the back in The Stables on the ground floor but from opening the main door to getting to our room there was a nasty musty smell & did not look good in the communal area leading to the rooms. Our room was very dated, the furniture was tatty as was the decor which looked like wallpaper was falling off the walls & woodchip paper falling off the ceiling. The window had a piece of wood to hold it shut & because we were right by the carpark, we were unable to have window open. There was a fan in room which helped. The bedding was clean but it couldn't take away from the old & tired look & feel of the room. The shower was over the bath & didn't work properly as the head kept moving towards the wall so the water wasn't covering us. I did mention our thoughts to the lady on reception who said she would pass on our comments.
Our welcome was superb. Parking was easy and the Stables were ideal. Our room was pleasantly cooled by an efficient fan. It was a good size and comfortably furnished. The en-suite was immaculate. We had a pleasant Continental breakfast with plenty of choice and I particularly enjoyed delicious fresh strawberries and blueberries. Thank you all very much.
Nothing
Breakfast - good choice. Dinner - Very generous quantities. Room - On ground floor close to main entrance so no far to walk.
Breakfast -- Croissants ran out quickly and weren't replaced. Dinner - No flexibility in menu even to have a second starter in place of a main. Room - always smelled a bit musty but the fan was a God send.
Good food, good company - good rest.
Very friendly staff, good food and excellent location.

Not much the outside
Mould bad smell more mould around taps ceiling toilet didn't flush old carpet stains on the wall wood on the window to stop you opening the window ols fashioned furniture and on the website it said £75 including vat then I got charged £100 with a 10% discount not sure why? I was expecting a better room than that
The staff were nice. The bed was comfortable. It has is own parking.
Little attention to detail in places.
Breakfast excellent great atmosphere and in a nice location
It was very hot could have done with a fan in the room
Comfortable, clean, great location, plenty of coffee, tea and sugar, a fan due to the hot weather
Bathroom was a little dated
