Lovely pub, updated but retaining some old original features.

Parking! It was difficult to go to the car park and if no space you had to reverse all the way down the drive! There needs to be a space left clear for turning.

Two small things really. Bath extremely slippy when having shower and wardrobe couldn’t be used as there was a bed in there

The parking was challenging with a full car park.

The hotel is in a lovely location adjacent to a very old church. The hotel itself is also very old and pretty from the outside. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices and our room and bathroom was big, overlooking the front

The lamp illuminating the Kings Arms sign was on the wall immediately next to the bedroom window. As the curtains were very thin our room was quite bright when the bedroom light was out. The early morning sun also came straight through the curtains. Thicker curtains would solve these problems. Althoigh the hotel is charming it is also a little tired in places especially going up the stairs to the bedroom.

Beautiful building, fabulous size room with an amazing window. Smack bang in the middle of this beautiful little village, with Montacute house just around the corner. Lovely friendly staff and a decent restaurant with plenty of choice.

Lovely traditional village pub. Decent breakfast and evening meal.

The bathroom was very small with the toilet almost squeezed into the basin - not particularly easy for someone with my dodgy knees. That apart all was fine.

The Inn was beautiful, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The food was excellent and the two waitresses in the restaurant were lovely and very attentive.

The room was comfortable and as expected, fine for a one night stay.. On route to Dartmouth in Devon and roughly Half way so good location. Thought the breakfast was excellent.

Chose this Pub as it had very good reviews on the food and it was my Wedding anniversary.. Was very disappointed with Dinner. The food was ok but not what I had expected. Parking was ok but not great narrow entrance and having to back out down steep slope and S bend was not easy

The church bell rings every hour on the hour. Even though the view to look at it was amazing, it wasn't welcome at 6 am. Bed was uncomfortable and you could feel the bars through the mattress.

Easy check-in, with wonderful staff. Nice, well decorated room with all requirements. Very popular for dinner. Excellent breakfast. Car Park at rear, can fill up, but easy street parking in quiet village. The location is great for a few local walks, wonderful church next door and the the Montacute House just down the road. Easy access to the main roads. If i am in the area again, i will look to stay here again.

I would have preferred a thicker mattress, but had a good nights sleep all the same, and it was a hot and sticky evening too.

The breakfast that was included was great.

Situated in a very pretty village, good parking facilities, lovely beer garden, traditional pub, rooms very clean and comfortable albeit dated. Food really very good.

Great place, very old building, wonderful ambience, great breakfast. Supportive personnel, great contact even in case of very late arrival.

Everything was very clean and the room spacious with a comfy bed, nice on suite including a roll top bath and separate shower.

Because of exceptionally hot weather the room was very hot despite windows being open all night - a fan in the room would have helped - some minor hiccups with tv reception but otherwise a lovely stay would recommend.

Character, clean& staff excellent

Travelled down with my mate on the motorbikes for a tour of South England. One of the best places I've ever stayed in. Friendly staff, great food and comfy beds. 10/10 from me and I would definitely stay there again if I was travelling in that area in the future 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Kings Arms is set in a beautiful, historic village, the perfect location. The room was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The evening meal and beautifully cooked breakfast were delicious. We look forward to staying again.

Bedroom was uncomfortably hot in extreme hot weather even with fan.

Lovely friendly caring staff. Very welcoming. Clean well equipped room. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Menu choices good and evening meal was superb. Lovely bar and beer garden. Ample parking.

The bathroom was a bit crammed, with a sink right in front of the toilet. It was awkward. On a very hot night.the fan provided was noisy.

A lovely old pub with rooms. Room was a little tired but perfectly clean with a comfy bed, fluffy towels and a decent shower. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious.

No hanging space apart from a couple of hooks in the wall, and only one metal hanger provided, until I requested more.

A superb pub with excellent accommodation. The food was of the best quality I have found in locations lke this. Fresh produce, well cooked and beautifully presented - whether breakfst or dinner. A great team of staff run this place - well done all of you.

Fußläufig zum Montacute Haus, deswegen gebucht. Wir hatten das Familienzimmer mit einem schönen Blick auf Kirche und Pfarrhaus. Einrichtung und Bad etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber für den Preis ok.

Das Frühstück war nicht mein Ding, dann schon eher die Käseplatte im Pub.

A beautiful old pub, with a great atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable.

Occasionally car parking was a bit difficult, but staff helped us out to find a space.

The room allocated to us was very tired and the shower was small.

A decent pub with rooms in historic, touristy Montacute. Like many pubs these days, it's obviously doing its best to keep its head above water. You get the impression it's seen better days, but it had everything I needed. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and everything worked fine. The staff looked a bit stretched but were very helpful, arranging somewhere I could store my cycle. Decent supper and a good full english breakfast too! My room was at the back, which I was pleased about as there's a bit of traffic at the front (not too noisy, but if you wanted quiet, then ask for a room at the back).

It's seen better days, so don't expect hotel-grade luxury. But hey, it's a pub with rooms. And it suited me fine.

The staff were so welcoming and polite and the food was amazing. The restaurant and bar area are full of character with a lovely atmosphere.

The bedroom had everything you could need, however was a little tired. The bathroom door catch was secured with duck tape and it just needed a lick of paint.

At the end of the corridor in room 1 at night there is a constant noise from the boiler situated on the other side of the wall by the door and television.

The rooms are not as pictured, I found them to be shabby and the bed somewhat uncomfortable. The bathroom was rather sad and not the lovely freestanding bath as pictured on the website, it was a tiny cubicle with a dim, flickering light and only a small cubicle shower.

Located in beautiful village of Montacute. Friendly staff. Room was well appointed and spotlessly clean. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Interesting dinner menu plus pub classics as well.

The soiled stair carpet to room 14 lets the place down and needs cleaning or replacing. Breakfast was good but although pieces of fresh fruit were available, fresh fruit salad or berries would have been appreciated.
