Sally und Margaret sind sehr warmherzige und aufmerksame Gastgeberinnen. Wir haben hervorragende Tipps für Ausflüge, Restaurants und unsere weitere Reise bekommen. Reviewed Apr 7, 2026If you love the forest, birds, peace and quiet - this is the place for you! You'll be immersed in nature's green glory. The hosts are lovely, kind, great - giving you peaceful space but responsive if you need assistance. The location is great - close enough to everything you need, far enough to feel like you are away from the madness of life - and if you want to simply rest it's ideal. There is lots to see and do in the area.
There is a 2-plate gas stove that functions well - but I missed having a fully functioning stove.

Reviewed Nov 23, 2025Fijn dat je de wagen veilig achter een poort kan parkeren. Prachtige, ruime en nette kamer in de natuur. We konden vogels zien vanop het terras en hebben genoten van de rust. Er werd thee, koffie en water aangeboden. Lieve gastvrouw die ons alles uitlegde. Grote valiezen laat je best wel thuis tenzij je sterk genoeg bent om ze mee te nemen op een trap. Wij hebben een uitstap van hier naar Elephant sanctuary gedaan.

Margaret and Sally are excellent hosts, who went the extra mile to make our stay special. They even arranged close up sightings of the elusive Southern Knysna Loerie.Vwey special indeed!

Reviewed Sep 15, 2025The location was charming, the hosts were discrete but informative and the peaceful vibe was much appreciated. The space was large, with lovely windows and appeared to be very clean. The hosts are visual artists and we bought art pieces from both of them.
There was a soap bar supplied no other toiletries provided.

Reviewed Sep 11, 2025Absolument tout ! Cottage vraiment beau, tout neuf et décoré avec goût. Il est très bien équipé, avec une terrasse dans les arbres parfait pour observer les oiseaux. La douche a de l’eau chaude, ils proposent également de l’eau potable à boire (rare en Afrique). Très bien situé près de Eden of bird ou de Plettenberg. Le personnel est très agréable. Je recommande à 100% pour un séjour un peu atypique.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2025The hosts were fabulous—friendly and full of local knowledge. The Treehouse was full of character and had everything you could possibly need. The balcony/porch with a braai is surrounded by trees, giving you the feeling of being right in the middle of a forest. The Crags is a little out of the way, but that’s the beauty of the place. The cottage offers excellent value in a truly wonderful location.

Reviewed Feb 23, 2025Lovely cottage on a in the trees. Big space, comfortable bed an nice surroundings. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. It is perfectly situated close to the N2 but far from the noise. Very safe place. And as a bonus I had the visit from the Knysna Turaco
Bare in mind it is upstairs and not suitable for people with reduced mobility or who can’t carry their luggage upstairs. The wifi was not very fast.

I wouldn't say I would change anything about this location. It is definitely my kind of place that I look to stay at every time I book accommodation. The bed was also comfortable so I cannot complain about my stay!

Reviewed Dec 5, 2024Highly recommended and only sorry I could stay only one night. Facilities were excellent and the hosts were absolutely fantastic. Very helpful and provided valuable recommendations for local dining, They provided helpful guidance regarding directions and the local area which proved valuable assistance. Would absolutely stay here again!
The only issue was that there is a barrier to the area which the property was located. Not a problem as the hosts were there to meet me and get me in but if I hadn't coordinated then it could possibly have been an issue.

We loved having the monkeys and loeries visit the cabin everyday and even got to feed the Loeries which was a special treat. The host was also very helpful with any and all our queries.
The cabin was very hot and we struggled to get it cooled down. We would also have loved a wood fire to braai.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2024We loved Treehouse Cottage. After the first night my son asked if we could stay longer than our 3 nights already booked! It was the perfect getaway. Comfy beds which included an electric blanket and a gas heater for the room for those cold nights. Lovely waking up to the sound of birds around us. Lovely afternoon sun streaming into the cottage. We will definitely be back in the future!

Reviewed Aug 21, 2024The hosts are just great; they really made the stay. The property is filled with light and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are lots of birds (and baboons, so watch your personal belongings on the terrace). My only regret is that we did not stay longer. There are also tons of activities in and around the area to keep you occupied for a few days.

In one word, the BROWN water coming out of kitchen, bathroom taps and toilets of course. We were sick for 3 days after our stay, and wondering whether that's what caused it... Please lovely owners, fix this.

Reviewed Apr 2, 2024We booked for the birds and did experience it. It was very nice sitting on the deck watching the sunbirds. Saw the Knysna Loerie in flight and heard it. Sally and Margaret is very friendly and is nice people. What you see is what you get. The books of birds with the common birds already marked.
I like a hard mattress but this mattress is very hard. Luckily we did not plan to make food as only one of the gas burners worked.

Just be advised you cannot make a fire with wood. Small kettle braai available to use with charcoal.

Reviewed Sep 26, 2023The peaceful garden surrounds and bird sounds. The unit was neat and clean and there were great amenities, such as a gas stove and heater incase it was cold. It was a light, warm space too, that felt safe.
Everything was great! Thank heavens there wasn't loadshedding when we went, because I wouldn't enjoy not being able to use these wonderful amenities (warm blankie and water supposedly not able to use during loadshedding as the pump needs electricity).
