Loved the privacy. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was beautiful, shower pressure and heat was great.

A small microwave would have been nice as no way to heat food. Shower curtain could be bigger (or maybe 2 with a clip to keep them together) as it was quite frosty after a shower with the wind blowing through. Also, with the mirror placement, anyone on the deck could see into the shower. Breakfast options could possibly include a jam but nice selection otherwise.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at this beautiful cabin. Is a beautiful rural place and handy to town , we loved everything about this little piece of paradise. Comfy bed, and spotlessly clean can highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a peaceful break in lovely surroundings. Thank you so much for having us stay !

The shower curtain needs to be much wider and able to be attached to both walls to stop wind gusts when showering. There was no bottle opener.

Really cozy and comfy stay in unique accommodation. Loved it, and the lovely breakfast supplied.

I liked the outside bathroom, it was different...but it was a bit cool at night which meant I dreaded having to go...but during summer, it wouldn't be an issue

I was really looking forward to staying here, unfortunately due to a family situation, I was unable to stay. I advised Kate & Jake as soon as possible, they were great & responded. I was so disappointed I could not stay.

Such a lovely stay! The owner was super kind, even though we booked it in kind of a hurry. Super tidy, amazing views of farm animals and the breakfast was awesome, everything stacked neatly in the room!

Kate and Jake friendly and down to earth! A real kiwi couple. Frank the dog wants food and hugs! Belie Archie and Billy are adorable and a gift from god.

Not much. Yes it was cute having animals close by and view into valley nice but cabin stuck behind shed with OUT DOOR bathroom. The problem with is was the toilet got very wet when showering. Only a plastic curtain for privacy which was not our issue, it was the wet toilet. It would be very cold in winter, Chilly when we stayed. Not value for money. Room small with lots of rules.

Our host Jake was friendly, welcoming and helpful! The cabin is located in a beautiful area with a decent view! You’re allowed to pat all the sheep and goats which was super cool! The outside shower and toilet area is wicked! Such a cool experience

The bed was uncomfortable, large human sized dents in the bed which made it extremely uncomfortable. No microwave.

Thus was our second stay with Kate and Jake and definitely won't be the last! Absolutely love the peace and tranquility here. So relaxing! Frank and the farm animals are a super cool bonus too. We will definitely be back!

Très bel emplacement dans un cadre naturel sur les hauteurs de Whangarei. Superbe panorama. Excellent accueil à l'arrivée. Chambre peu spacieuse (cabane oblige !) mais suffisante pour une nuitée. Equipements assez bons dans l'ensemble. Petit-déjeuner correct.

WIFI et régulation eau froide/chaude assez efficace.

Die Position der Unterkunft hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Das angebotene Frühstück war auch gut und die Besitzer sehr offen und nett.

Für Leute die schüchtern sind, kann es eine Hürde sein, einfach so in ein privates Haus reinzulaufen, aber ich schätze man kann die beiden auch telefonisch kontaktieren ohne Probleme.

Coole Aussen-Toilette und Dusche Ruhige Lage direkt an Schaf- und Pferdegehege.

Einzigartig schönes Zimmer mit überdachtem Freiluftbad. Alles was man benötigt wird bereitgestellt. Sehr netter Gastgeber, der sich gerne Zeit nimmt zum plaudern oder Fragen beantwortet. Noch zu erwähnen sind der tolle Blick und der Gesang der Vögel.

Beautiful little get away spot, close to town but it feels like your in your own little world, I wish we could of stayed longer!

Returning travelers, it is our go-to bucolic spot to recover from jet lag. Our old friend Wilson the cat has moved on, but the hosts are still warm and inviting. An outdoor shower with great water pressure is a great way to feel refreshed.

The setting was beautiful and the cabin was so cosy and peaceful. Jake and Kate were super friendly and the farm animals were great to see so happy! Would recommend to anyone and would definitely come back if was in NZ!

Very minor point: instructions to get there were quite long - ended up getting muddled and ended up first meeting a neighbour who didn't seem pleased to see us

Shower & toilet are on the verandah, very cold to go out to through the night. When having a shower the water sprays all over the toilet so you have to wipe the toilet down after your shower

Outdoor bathroom novel and would be nice in warmer weather. Just found when showering it wet the toilet area. Also, a microwave would be handy if wanting to heat up quick meal.

Location was great, close to the main town and easy to find. Had plenty of options for breakfast and all the essentials, nicely furnished and presented. Host was friendly!

There did appear to be a lot of ants outside on arrival, and some had made their way inside over the walls and some on the bed which could be noticed overnight. The shower curtain could have been a little wider and heavier to help with privacy, as with any wind it becomes impossible to remain completely private. Completely down to unfortunate timing but one of the children came round to check if we had any dishes as one of us was changing and the other showering, when a text or a call would have been fine.

We enjoyed the quietness and friendliness of the owners. Nothing was a trouble. Maybe a BBQ would be helpful in the future.

Great location, close to town but a lovely quiet rural setting, clean & attractive property & well priced.

Both my hubby and I found the bed really hard & uncomfortable & did not get a good sleep due to this.

Beautiful setting, peaceful, high up on a hill. The bed was fine, for me - one person. But for two… maybe too narrow…

One curtain was missing, so for someone like me - I woke up a bit too early.

A secluded and peaceful getaway but will all the amenities in place for a comfortable stay! Got to see llamas and ate breakfast looking out onto the rolling hills. We loved our stay here!

Stunningly beautiful location surrounded by farm land and bush. The 5 cows in the paddock were lovely and soulful. The host was exceptional, very friendly and helpful and ensured our stay was as good as it could possibly be.

Not much although I would not say it’s close to the city centre; rather it’s only a short but hilly drive.

Rustic, farm setting and peaceful .

Unfortunately we did not stay the night. My wife is mobility impaired and access was difficult with loose metal path and wooden steps. Furthermore the bathroom/toilet was outside of the bedroom and the deck did not have railings, so would have been unsafe for midnight use. We did not pick this up through the ad on booking .com. No wheelchair or restricted mobility access was mentioned . We had no alternative but to cancel and look elsewhere. The owner was not interested in the refunding fee. Sort of understandable.

Was a gorgeous cabin, perfect for a few nights away as a couple. Waking up to the peace of the country, was incredible. The outside shower and toilet made it feel quite rustic, and didn't bother us at all.

Due to the photos, we didn't realize it was right next to the owners house.

Just needs air conditioner as it get really hot at night & can’t sleep. Was nice with the door open for a bit but can’t leave it open in case some animals come in🫣

It gives you total privacy and surrounded by nature and some farm animals. Really love the close knit small family with their cute dog and affectionate cat Winston. The cabin was well equipped except no cooking allowed but it was just a night so it was fine. Overall a really cosy and comfortable place to wind down and relax.
