Zuni Restaurant & Boutique Hotel

Dated decor, could do with a fresh paint and some care about furnishings etc. Eg even the “do not disturb” sign on my room was bent and tatty - not a good look! I also had to wait ages for the car park barrier to be opened, and even had to ring a few times. That was very frustrating.

Lüftung der Küche ist bei uns am Fenster gewesen und war relativ laut. Dadurch hat es auch stark nach Essen gerochen.

Bed was comfortable Central location so everything was within walking distance Breakfast was lovely both mornings Staff were very friendly and helpful. We requested iron and ironing board and some more milk sachets on separate occasions and they were both dropped up promptly which was much appreciated

There was some external noise which woke us up but that's exoected in a city and the room was a bit warm for my partner but otherwise everything else was great

Breakfast was wonderful. The service was outstanding. The coffee was excellent. The location of the hotel is super handy to almost all Kilkenny attractions. Walking distance to some very good pubs. Walkability is 10 out of 10

Hotel con ristorante e bar (dove viene servita un’ottima colazione), situato nel cuore di Kilkenny. A cinque minuti a piedi dal castello, è vicinissimo (300 metri) anche alla fermata del bus in Ormonde Road dove partono/arrivano i bus da/per Dublino e Cork. Moltissimi i locali nei dintorni dove bere o mangiare. La camera è ampia e confortevole, il bagno molto grande.

Excellent location in Kilkenny centre, perfect for wandering the town, short stroll to the castle. Room had all we needed. Restaurant and breakfast delicious. Bar a lovely spot for a night cap. Welcoming staff and good communication. Easy parking. Great value for money.

Zuni had the nicest staff & best location! After a long flight in & travel to Kilkenny, our cozy room was perfect for a refresh before seeing all Kilkenny had to offer - all just steps away!

My room, including the bathroom, was gracious, sophisticated, and really comfortable. The location was perfect, close to everything and surrounded by interesting shops and restaurants. The included breakfast was excellent! I had Eggs Benedict with thick bacon and spinach both mornings I was there because it was too good not to have a second time. Coffee was delicious. All staff people were excellent.

We had a 3 night stay very cental in the town. The breakfast was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you from the minute we came in till we checked out.

Everything. The location to the city was perfect and having the ability to park beside the hotel was a bonus. The room was spacious and clean with fresh towels every day, which was such a blessing because we had exceptionally hot days in Kilkenny. The breakfast was outstanding with many choices, cooked to perfection and the coffee was top notch. The service was amazing and the servers were polite, kind and extremely efficient. The front desk staff were friendly and incredibly helpful.

Fantastic location. The room was like an oven due to the weather, no fault of the Hotels, but made it challenging.

No ventilation in room so heat was excruciating. Sheets were not cotton.

The hotel was right in the centre of the town where the atmosphere was unreal, felt like an actual holiday in a hot country paired with the heat. It was easy to locate and so handy for going and exploring lots of places without straying too far

Gorgeous breakfast made fresh, and kind staff. Everything clean and tidy.

Could not have chosen a better place to stay! The staff were wonderful, so friendly, fun and helpful. The location was central in Killkenny with a good amount of parking spots. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and on one day where we did not want to be disturbed they still left replacements for us such as water and towels which was a lovely touch! The breakfast was also fantastic with a tasty irish breakfast and lovely coffee. All in all a perfect stay 🙂

Nothing negative to say!

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They allowed us to check in early, which we sincerely appreciated after an overnight flight. Breakfast was excellent. I liked the memory foam pillows.

The room rate was expensive for the room we received. Whilst the room was clean enough there were details that made me uncomfortable, for instance, the bathroom door had handprints from the previous occupant opening the door after putting makeup on. This and the carpets made the room feel a bit grubby. Also, the entire hotel smells like food, including the lifts and corridors.

The Abbey Lodge is beautiful and quaint. The location is perfectly close to everything without having to be in downtown.

The breakfast was disappointing. Offering menu options would be preferred.

Alle sind super lieb und nett. Das Frühstück ist lecker und liebevoll zubereitet (kein Buffet, sondern feste Speisen). Unser Zimmer war klein, aber für kurze Aufenthalte völlig ausreichend. Haben auf dem bequemen Betten super geschlafen. Wir hatten jedoch leider um die 28 Grad und im Zimmer gibt es keine Klimaanlage. Direkt unter dem Dach war es schon sehr warm. Durch die Nacht kühlt es aber wieder gut runter. Der Ventilator brachte auch etwas Entlastung. In jedem Fall sehr empfehlenswert :)

We had to check out early and we were looked after so well by the night Manager. He prepared a lovely continental breakfast for us. Thanks a million for your hospitality.

Location and parking our car was very easy. Car park was safe. Hotel dinner was amazing as was their tapas menu. Rooms were very spacious and were so friendly couldn’t do enough for us. Reception ladies were brilliant as staff in both restaurants.

The room was a bit hot but we had a fan. We have noticed rooms all over Ireland are a bit warm not much to really complain about.

We loved everything about our stay at Zuni and would absolutely plan to stay there again if/when returning to Kilkenny! Louise at the front desk was WONDERFUL in helping us with everything we needed, from explaining how things worked in our room to giving us recommendations for places to eat and visit; her kindness was a standout feature and much appreciated by two travellers very tired and jetlagged. Other staff members were also helpful to a fault. The front desk also has beautiful colored maps of the city to help you plan out where to walk; Louise took a lot of time walking us through the map and writing out places she knew we would not want to miss. We cannot stress how much we felt taken care of at the hotel. As for the room, it was among the best rooms we stayed at in Ireland--comfortable beds, quiet at night, and fantastic bathroom. The elevator was in good working order and never required a wait. The restaurant downstairs is fantastic--delicious breakfast food (one of our party was raving about the pancakes, while the other loved the Irish breakfast, counting it as the best breakfast of the trip) and extremely attentive waitstaff whether at the bar or at the tables. This is also the PLACE TO STAY if you are looking for something CENTRAL to whatever you want to do in the city. The hotel is a right next to a bunch of great shops, restaurants, and attractions. In fact, we wish we had stayed at Zuni longer to take in more of the city since it was all right there. You cannot beat staying right where the action is.

Zimmer ok, aber leider einiges defekt....mehr Schein, als Sein. Frühstück war ok, leider zu wenig Erklärung, was alles bestellbar ist. Personal offensichtlich überfordert.

L'amabilité du personnel. La qualité du petit déjeuner exceptionnel ! Avec un serveur des plus sympathiques. La propreté de la chambre et de l'hôtel en général. Emplacement idéal proche du château.

Seul point noir, la signalisation de l'hôtel qui est à améliorer. Nous sommes venus en voiture, et les indications sont quasi inexistantes. Le parking est bien, mais il faut absolument revoir ce petit problème.

The staff were outstanding. I left my laptop in my room by mistake and they called me straight away to arrange collection. Very friendly service for all meals. Room was nice. The car park is a big positive and one of the main reasons I book.

Other than bigger rooms or a swimming pool or gym, there are not really any improvements that could be made.

Das Frühstück und auch das Personal waren wirklich super. Die Lage des Hotels ist optimal, auch der kostenlose Parkplatz.

Wir hatten ein sehr hellhörig es Zimmer. Die Betten waren auch nur okay und auch der Teppich müsste Mal er erneut werden. Dadurch stimmte für uns das Preis Leistungsverhältnis nicht.

Het personeel was ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam op een oprechte manier. En we hebben voortreffelijk gegeten, zowel het ontbijt als diner.

Ons bed was niet heel comfortabel en voor ons ook iets te smal.

The Hotel is in the middle of the city and so all interesting sites are on walking diner. People are very friendly and our breakfast was excellent.

We had exceptionally hot days during our stay and missed air conditioning in our room.

Great location with close walking distance to many of the local pubs and sites to view. Staff was very nice and the breakfast was great. Parking was very convenient.

There was a bit of a smell in the hallway prior to entering the room. The front stairwell should be blocked off since it is not used and has not recently been cleaned.

An exceptional staff, warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and helpful. Plus a very nice modern room and a place to park our car.

Die Lage am Rande des Ausgehzentrums und der Innenstadt. Innerhalb von 2 Minuten ist man im Zentrum. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir hatten übersehen, dass die Standardzimmer ein Queensize Bett haben und erhielten ohne Probleme ein Upgrade auf ein Zimmer mit Kingsize Bett. Geräumiger Parkplatz direkt am Hotel inklusive. Wir hatten 30 Grad während unseres Aufenthalts, durch die Lage an der von der Sonne abgewandten Seite waren die Temperaturen okay. Unser Zimmer hatte keine Klimaanlage (Standard in Irland). Wegen der Hitze hat das Management für alle Zimmer Ventilatoren gekauft. Leckeres Frühstück und Dinner im Zuni Restaurant.

Unfortunately the room at the front wasn’t great , toilet door wouldn’t stay closed , a fan on and off all night and the bed was v uncomfortable and noisy . We asked to be moved the next day toward the back far better room
