Ruime schone kamer. Uitgebreid ontbijt. Bedden prima, maar voor mij nog steeds wel wat hard. Nog zeker 50 mins rijden vanaf het vliegveld. Georgetown en Penang Hill allebei op 20 mins rijden. Dus prima locatie. Elke dag flessen water op de kamer. Zeer betaalbare roomservice en te bestellen via een website. Wij hadden een kamer op de 31e verdieping en dus prachtig uitzicht over zee en deel van de kust. Groot kluisje en een koelkastje.

Geen airco in de badkamer, wel een open raam waar we niet bij konden om dicht te doen. In plaats van 1 super grote handdoek en 1 mini handdoek, zou een handdoek voor het hoofd erg fijn zijn voor dames die lang haar hebben.

1. トイレの水量が完全足りない →高層ホテルなのに、トイレのタンクが小さ過ぎ為複数回流さないと…です。 2. 冷蔵庫、基本無いとお考えください →保冷機能の小さなシースルーのケースがありますが、キンキンなビールは飲めません。 3. プール、残念 →ホテルの10階(日本でいう12階)にあるプールは、海に面した絶好の位置にあるのに、ベッドも椅子も(ほぼ)無く、小さいので楽しめません。 3. シャワーの放水向きが、限定されます →温度、水勢は充分満足ですが、シャワーヘッドの向きがある方向に向かってしか固定できず、不便です。

The beachfront location was beautiful and relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The view was especially nice during sunset.

The parking space was quite limited, and the breakfast selection could have had more variety.

The staff were very kind and friendly, which was definitely a positive. The biggest advantage of the hotel is its beachfront location. If someone mainly wants to stay at the hotel, relax, and enjoy direct beach access, then this location could be perfect. However, the hotel is quite far from the city centre, and the surrounding area did not feel particularly comfortable to us. Breakfast is good!

For our trip, the beachfront location alone was not enough to make up for the condition of the room and bathroom. The building and the room felt quite old and dated, and we honestly expected more from a 4-star hotel. The bathroom was also disappointing, especially the shower, which had visible mould. Overall, we expected a higher standard from a 4-star hotel. We personally would not book it again.

La limpieza y el manteniendo de instalaciones era inexistente. Olía bastante a humedad y había manchas por todos lados, desde la cama hasta la moqueta. Hemos tenido una experiencia muy mala. El aire acondicionado funcionaba mal, tuvieron que cambiarnos hasta de habitación, y aún así, seguía igual de mal. La piscina no tenía apenas hamacas, las toallas sucias y en general, todo muy mal cuidado y mantenido. No volveré ni por qué me lo regalen.

Service not good

The room was nice and the staff was good overall. I also liked the location.

We were told we had to wait all the way until check-in time (3:00 pm) for the room to be ready, but we arrived at 12:00 noon. Surely it doesn't take three hours to clean the room. In the end, I asked the concierge for help and he immediately got us into a room, but after waiting for an hour and a half. Making us wait so long was unnecessary, as I tried to explain several times to the receptionist, who told me twice we had to wait until 3:00 pm.

I asked 3 times to have the inside windows cleaned as there was greasy hand and body prints on the window especially the one above the bed. This was to done. At breakfast the toilets were not cleaned and a lot of vomit in the sink. Some of the pool furniture broken.

First of all the hygiene was very poor. When we arrived we expected a good hotel with a good hygiene. But the room was not clean. You expect that they will give you a clean and organised room, but it was very bad. The first thing we saw, was that there were some yellow and black stains on the bed sheets. When we did a further check in the room, we saw that there was a lot of mold in the bathroom and we saw that there is a hole in the roof of the shower. The toilet did not look very clean. Also the fridge was not working. We told this to the reception, and they sent someone from the housekeeping. We had to wait in the room and had to point these things. We asked this moment for a clean room, but he told us to wait for the housekeeper first. Obviously the housekeeper could not fix these problems. It seemed like they did not have any clean sheets or towels. Because when the sheets and the towels got changed, there were also black and yellow stains on it. Also there were hairs of previous guests on the bed (under the sheets). We saw this by accident while the housekeeper was changing the dirty sheets. He just tried to remove these quickly, so I could not make a photo of it. The second thing is that when we asked for new water and toilet paper, we had to wait for more than an hour after calling the reception multiple times. Our experience of this hotel was very bad and I would not recommend to stay here. The maintanence of the hotel is also very bad.

L’hôtel est très beau et agréable, mais malheureusement, certains points m’ont déçue. Le personnel n’était pas vraiment à l’écoute. J’avais notamment demandé une chambre communicante, et on m’a d’abord expliqué que les chambres disponibles n’étaient pas encore nettoyées, puis qu’il n’y en avait finalement pas. Pourtant, le lendemain, j’ai constaté que certaines chambres étaient toujours vides. J’ai trouvé cela assez décevant, surtout que ma demande avait été faite à l’avance. Autre gros point négatif : l’emplacement. L’hôtel est vraiment très éloigné, ce qui rend les déplacements assez contraignants et oblige à utiliser régulièrement un moyen de transport. Dommage, car l’hôtel est très joli et aurait pu être une bien meilleure expérience avec un personnel plus à l’écoute et un emplacement plus pratique.

Room was so pretty, with the beach view, it was amazing. Hair dryer worked well.

Went to check the pillow, and noticed one of the cases had stain on them. Kinda like "choc" stain, so it was washable. And the case also looked like it didn't even got changed, to compare with other pillow cases. Maybe overlooked? But decided to just let it be. Then went to toilet for shower, the toilet bowl was found to be unclean, with visible fecal stains remaining from the previous user. Went to shower part, and there were dirts and grimes too. When dry not visible, but when wet very visible, could see the pink and black mold. As someone who is particularly conscious about cleanliness and hygiene, especially when it comes to toilet facilities, I found the condition of the toilet deeply unpleasant and concerning.

Het ligt aan het strand maar deze is heel smal dus geen strandbedjes omdat het snel vloed wordt. Hotel moet wel onderhoud blijven plegen anders wordt t snel oud. Met taxi naar centrum is ongeveer 20 minuten. Soms lang wachten op een lift. Te weinig stoeltjes bij het zwembad.

Hotel carino, con vista mare poco fuori da George Town dotato di parcheggio. Siamo rimasti solo una notte visto che eravamo di passaggio ma ci siamo trovati bene, da segnalare la colazione, tantissima scelta e tutto molto buono, una delle migliori fatte in Malesia.

The direct access to the beach is really convenient. Staffs are very helpful and attentive. The towels could do some upgrade. Overall, a very pleasant stay for us.

Na basenie 3 leżaki, brudna woda w basenie, syf na dnie, poobrywane listwy na basenie można zrobić sobie krzywdę. Bardzo krótko otwarty basen. Ogólnie na pierwszy rzut oka wydaje się czysto ale jak się przyjrzeć to widać że hotel bardzo stary i można znaleźć pleśń na ścianach. Lodówka w pokoju w ogóle nie chłodzi, klimatyzacja słaba. Ręczniki dostępne na basenie były wilgotne i śmierdzące jakby ju były użyte. No ogólnie nie polecam.

Great location, the room was super big and they did meet all our requests and needs.

Onky issue is there isn’t anywhere to sit and chill as a large family, without eating from the restaurant.

Our stay at Hampton by the Beach was amazing from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed by Estu, who was incredibly kind and friendly. He even remembered our names throughout our stay, which made us feel so valued and welcome. We were generously upgraded to one of the best rooms we’ve ever stayed in, and it made our trip even more special. The service from all the staff was exceptional, they were attentive, professional, and always happy to help. Thank you to everyone at Hampton by the Beach for making our stay so memorable. We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service and a wonderful experience.

The food and room

No proper parking for big cars. We cannot enter the parking bay and hv to park outside the road and staff did not accommodate proper parking space for us. Water bottles is so expensive. At first given only 2 bottles and was told to buy if we need more. Sometimes there's juice in the fridge and at times not given. Food in the hotel is expensive and the lift is not card access based. Anyone can go to any floor.

Ease of access and views

Couldn't use streaming services with tv, and hot water took a while to warm up

I’m a returning guest - my fourth time in fact since my first stay in 2023. It checks all the boxes for me, and is close to perfect as a locally-owned hotel. For sure it is not a Marriott etc but you’re paying affordable prices for so much you don’t get from many large hotel chains. I especially love: 1) location, location, location. Comes with free parking, and there’s a nice small beach (mainly for walks), a large patio for drinks, a food court serving delicious food in front, and a bus stop to bring you anywhere you want to go on the island. 2) the human touch Right upon arriving, they have staff to greet you and reception is top notch. My last stay they even had a QR code to scan and chat with staff. We used it to report some minor issues but also to request for water etc. response was fast. Ive only ever seen this in five star hotels. 3) Views are lovely. Get a higher floor and you get both views of the sea and the hills. The windows face sideways but the views are lovely. 4) Beds! Bedding is perfect for me. Comfortable, clean and sheets are smooth and soft. 4) Coffee, tea and water are provided in the room. Aircon worked well. Room and bathroom were CLEAN - they even mop the room floors, something I seldom see. I’m already thinking about my next trip. A little reluctant to write this as this hotel is a gem and I want to selfishly keep it to myself :) It’s a great hotel for locals, and easily exceeds one’s expectations. For what you’re paying, don’t expect a Marriott but they’re not too far behind. Well done, Hompton staff. Everyone from arrival, reception, housekeeping, technicians and restaurant staff deserve a pat on the back. Everything was done with a smile despite it being a busy weekend.

While housekeeping has improved a lot, I had some issues with the smell of smoke about three times during my four night stay. It could have been due to someone smoking in another room. Otherwise it was all good. Guests looking to spend pool time might be disappointed as the pool is small but it didn’t matter to me.

The room was specious and the food in the dining restaurant tastes good. The view from my room is breath taking.

There are not enough bed by the pool and there are no beach bed. It may be by law that not allow on the beach but the hotel also not arrange inside the hotel property so I guess the hotel is designed for a vacation destination. So when I planed just to lay by the beach and do nothing, will not become real then I just stay in my room.

I appreciate the Front Desk Manager, Mr. S who had never failed to solve whenever I faced issues staying at this hotel with the best solution he could. I'm a regular who stayed many times in here whenever I have meetings in Penang. Without him transferring me to a better room, I would have rate this hotel lower, close to zero due to the incident I faced.

I woke up at 3am in the morning due to a strong pungent smell. I saw a big black cockroach near the fruits that the hotel provided for the guests. I made a complaint. Questioned their pesticide schedule. Demand for a solution. I ate the fruits earlier and had a bit of an upset tummy.

Amazing view and location, room is fabulous, wonderful, helpful counter staff, great food court across the street and durian next door. Sunrise and sunset is really awesome.

Level 10 facilities could use an upgrade. Small thing: the bfast buffet is great, just one annoyance. There were 3 interns who went around pressurising ppl to write a google review and put their names in it.

Staff is responding quickly, the breakfast cafeteria manager is responsible and helpful

there was faulty shower blind - the reception, the housekeeping was informed and we even informed when they made courtesy call asking whether everything ie room is okay. But no one showed up to check until the 2nd day when we called up again the hsekeeping. Once fixed we need to call the hsekeeping again to clean the debris in the shower. We also very disappointed that the shower cream was not replenish (yes we did request) until we checked out frm the hotel.

Excellent views. Fantastic bar next to the beach. Opposite night market with good variety of dishes. Staff overall helpful.

We, a group of 3, were given only 1 room card on check-in. When we requested one card for each guest, as we planned to go out individually, a staff member showed a black face, though he finally did so.

Had the best time with my wife and kids. Worth every penny.
