Granny's farm

Skvělá poloha ubytování v rámci ostrova, úžasné okolí, nádherná, udržovaná zahrada, spousta možností venkovního posezení a nalezení soukromí, málo hmyzu, houpací síť ve stínu (stan č. 2), vybavení kuchyně (až na hrnce), pohodlná postel. V rámci celého pobytu mám z ostrova krásné zážitky, příroda i pláže jsou fantastické, ubytování prima, když je ve stanové části méně lidí a jsou k sobě ohleduplní.

V kuchyni je teflonové, velmi poškrábané nádobí, na kterém se nedá nic uvařit. Ze společné lednice nám mizely potraviny. Země v koupelně byly čisté, prkýnko na WC méně. Stany jsou blízko sebe, je zde málo soukromí, člověk slyší sousedy (rozepínání zipů u stanu, brzké odchody nebo pozdní příchody ubytovaných - opilecká hádka, chození ubytovaných kolem stanu). Ubytování je perfektní pro mladé či turisty, kteří dobře spí a na dovolené jim nevadí, že čekají na kuchyň či koupelnu. Nedoporučuji delší pobyty (naše chyba, ne majitelů), na 2-3 noci je ubytování za mě ideální. Na příští sezonu vidím velké zdražení noci ve stanech cca o 100%?

Top verblijf gehad hier. Dit was veruit ons beste verblijf van Madeira. Jammer dat we hier maar 2 nachten waren. We werden hartelijk ontvangen. Onze tent was erg mooi en proper. De gedeelde ruimtes waren kraaknet en werden dagelijks gepoetst. Ze hebben een prachtige tuin met allemaal leuke chill-plekjes. Je kan hier volledig tot rust komen. Er waren 2 keukens, 1 binnen en 1 buiten en deze waren zeer goed uitgerust. Ook de badkamers waren dik in orde. Wij willen zeker nog eens terugkomen. Helemaal verliefd op deze prachtige plek.

Struttura davvero bellissima, curata, pulita e con un panorama spettacolare. Abbiamo soggiornato in una tenda, grande, accogliente e pulitissima, con uno spazio esterno dedicato. Anche lo spazio in comune, i bagni e la cucina sono sempre stati ordinati e ben tenuti. Posizione strategica per visitare tutta la parte nord di Madeira, soprattutto la zona di Seixal. Unica piccola nota: sarebbe stato utile avere un forno nella cucina comune. Per il resto, assolutamente consigliata!

The views were beyond amazing and the tents were very comfortable. Bathrooms and kitchen were a great addition.

My wife didn't like the lizards crawling inside our tent, but that's just the wildlife we get in this kind of place.

Je krijgt daadwerkelijk het gevoel dat je op de camping van een Portugees omaatje slaapt. Wij sliepen in een tent, douche en sanitaire faciliteiten waren gedeeld maar constant super schoon en netjes.

Het huisje was zeer sfeervol ingericht met alle gemakken voorzien. De tuin was erg mooi met een fantastisch overkapping met zitje in het midden van de tuin. We hebben gebruik gemaakt van de aanwezige BBQ. Ook daar kun je heel gezellig zitten.

Geen buitenstoelen bij het huisje

De tuin is ontzettend mooi en goed onderhouden, er loopt bijna de hele dag iemand rond voor het bijhouden hiervan. Ook zijn hier verschillende zitjes waar je lekker kan lezen. Verder kan je je auto goed parkeren, kan je voor 5 euro de wasmachine of droger gebruiken en is de locatie super.

Het bed was erg krap met een hoeslaken wat net te klein was, hierdoor raakte deze steeds los en werd je wakker op het matras. Verder vond mijn man het matras erg versleten. Er zat een antilek hoeslaken op wat van plastic was, waardoor het erg warm in bed werd. Verder zit er geen hor in ramen, waardoor als je de ramen open hebt (omdat het erg warm was) wordt opgegeten door de muggen. Verder is er geen afzuigkap aanwezig, wat ervoor zorgt dat het hele huis naar eten ruikt.

Wat een ontzettend mooi plekje! Comfortabel en van alle gemakken voorzien in de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes

We hebben niemand gezien van het complex. Bar was niet open.

God hyggelig stemning. Nem indtjekning. Virkelig gode køkken og bade faciliteter. Alt var virkelig rent. Masser af plads til at parkere, som ellers kan være en udfordring ved andre overnatningssteder på Madeira. Vi boede i Glamping teltene og det var så hyggeligt og praktisk med eget køkken og tørresnor

Det ligger desværre ikke tæt på restauranter, så man er nødt til at køre derhen. Hvis du har bil, er der dog ikke noget problem.

Nous avons tout aimé dans ce logement, sa situation, la chambre bien équipée pour cuisiner mais surtout le jardin qui est absolument magnifique ! Avec en pleins de mobilier pour s’y installer aussi bien pour sieste que pour manger en extérieur !

The accomodation (Lodge family) is well maintained and foreseen from all needs. Wonderfull garden, cosy bar, bbq and open kitchen to share. Several shop nearby. Close to start of nice trail. Central location to visit several area in the nord side of the eiland.

J’ai adorer l’endroit. Tout est propre, les espaces communs également. C’étais au dessus de nos attentes. Tout le monde est agréable, endroit calme et paisible ! Beaucoup d’espace avec beaucoup de plantes, verdures et fleurs. Tous très jolis qui rend l’endroit encore plus féerique. (Pour ceux qui choisissent les tentes c’est un camping de luxe !!!)

The location was absolutely incredible. Beautiful gardens and a lot of love and effort has gone into creating a lovely place.

We had a lovely welcome from a lady who I think was the owner. There is a bar on site but it was unclear as to when it was open. We saw the gardener a few times while he was watering the plants but other than that we didn’t see any staff at all. There were no instructions what to do if we needed to contact anyone. It was warmer than usual - even for Madeira so a fan or something similar would have been appreciated. Either that or some alternative cooler bedding eg a plain cotton top sheet as the duvet provided was much too heavy to be used in the conditions. All of that said we would definitely come and stay again and I will recommend to others.

La struttura è posizionata a 3 km sulla verticale di Sao Vincente. La strada ripida e la distanza richiedono necessariamente l'auto propria. Nelle vicinanze non c'è nulla. Comunque la struttura è pulitissima e accogliente. Il giardino molto fresco e ben tenuto. Adatto a chi vuole restare in pace e isolato.

La distanza da qualunque cosa. Stoviglie e pentole lasciano un po' a desiderare per assortimento e qualità.

Amazing location in the mountains, tent was comfortable (and nicely cool during the nights!) and the bathroom was perfectly clean. Beautifull garden!

Het beddengoed is aan vervanging toe, bleef niet goed om het bed zitten.

Everything about the property was absolutely beautiful! The facilities were clean, well maintained, and very cute! The gardens and outdoor space were truly breathtaking! They had beautiful views of the mountains, peaceful gardens full of flowers and plants, with so many places to sit, eat outdoors, and to relax in nature. The owners have done such an incredible job on this property. We had such a peaceful and enjoyable stay!

Atemberaubende Aussicht und wunderschöner Garten, man kann dort selbstständig Grillen, eine Bar gibt es auch, der Garten ist wahnsinnig schön und friedlich, man darf sich an allen Kräutern und Gewächsen bedienen. Ich würde aufjedenfall nochmal dort buchen !

Absolut nicht schlimm aber zu bedenken: Es ist sehr feucht also den gegebenen Trockner benutzen, nicht Lufttrocknen :> Und eventuell die Möglichkeit einführen eine Reinigung dazuzubuchen

Na krásnějším ubytování jsem nebyla! Určitě neváhejte, je to jasná volba. Několik krásných posezení v zahrádce, pěkný příbytek s vlastním posezením a lednicí, koupelny a kuchyňka s příslušenstvím. Majitelé byli straně milí. Vlastní parkoviště pár kroků od ubytování. Bez chyby.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par notre hôte, le logement parfait et le jardin merveilleux, des plantes partout, des fleurs le tout très très bien entretenu, il y a aussi des tipis à la location. Un endroit tranquille pour se reposer après une longue journée

Ce n est pas négatif mais mettre le panneau granny s farm sur le devant de la route serait bien car nous avons tourner 3 fois avant de trouver

We boekten een bungalow met uitzicht op de tuin. een prachtige locatie, een mooie onderhouden tuin, een oase van rust. Het verblijf smaakvol ingericht en kraaknet. de eigenaar heeft in de tuin een bar waar je 's avonds zijn lekkere zelfgemaakte sangria kan proeven.

Je suis consciente que les propriétaires n'ont pas le contrôle la dessus, mais les gens avec le sommeil fragile pourraient ne pas connaître leurs.meilleures nuits en raison de la faune bruyante quoique charmante (chien, chèvre et coqs)

De ruimte in het appartement en de indeling buiten en binnen. Erg gezellig, je kan lekker in de tuin gaan zitten.

Het is toch een stukje de bergen in rijden en Sao Vicente is niet heel gezellig. Met de auto kun je overal wel redelijk snel komen.

This place is like a dream - the well-kept garden, calm and mountains around, everything detailed to perfection. We were in bugalow and it was very comfortable. Will definitely come back when we visit Madeira again

Prachtige tuin die heel mooi is bijgehouden. Ruime tenten die 's avonds lekker koel waren. Ik was verrast dat er een koelkastje in stond. Bedden lagen heerlijk. Er waren twee toiletten met douche die heel erg schoon waren. Mooie keuken die je kon gebruiken.

Tout était superbe, le logement, l'emplacement, la vue !

Das Anwesen ist wunderschön, der Garten gepflegt und sehr schön angelegt. Die Unterkunft ist sauber. Die Stornierung und Rückerstattung erfolgte problemlos.

Wir haben 4 Nächte im Apartment A übernachtet und waren bei der Ankunft begeistert von der schönen Anlage . Leider hat sich dieser erste Eindruck nach kurzer Zeit nicht bestätigt: - das Bett : Durchgelegene Matratze und ein Breite von 131cm. Wir sind beide schlank aber das ist doch sehr eng. - Die angegebenen Quadratmeter von 60 ist auch nicht korrekt. Es sind höchstens 35 Quadratmeter. Etwa 100€/Nacht sind für dieses Apartment definitiv zu teuer. - Als wir darum baten, in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen zu können, wurde uns eine kostenlose Stornierung angeboten.Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war sehr unfreundlich und er hatte scheinbar einfache keine Lust uns diesen Gefallen zu tun. Das benachbarte Apartment B war für 8 Nächte verfügbar und uns wurde ein Umzug verwehrt. Wir wollten insgesamt 11 Nächte bleiben. Nach 4 Nächten haben wir uns dazu entschieden umzuziehen und wohnen jetzt in einem ganzen Haus für nur 20€ mehr und mit 100 Quadratmeter . - Wir arbeiten selbst seit 35 mit Touristen und man sollte sich schon überlegen mit was man sein Geld verdient und was ein angemessener Umgang mit seinen Gästen ist ! - Die Küche ist sehr dunkel ,kalt und es hallt. - das Bad ist extrem klein . - Die Waschmaschine und der Trockner sind in der Unterkunftsbeschreibung aufgeführt, jedoch kostet jede Nutzung je 5 € was wir teuer fanden. Um die Wäsche komplett zu trocknen muss man den Trockner 2x bedienen . Macht pro Wäsche insgesamt 15€. - Die Räume sind eher kalt und klamm und können durch den bereitgestellten Heizer nicht wirklich gemütlich erwärmt werden. - Das Sofa im Schlafzimmer ist deplatziert und der Raum ist zu klein für ein Wohn.-Schlafzimmer. Es gibt in São Vicente andere Unterkünfte die ein viel besseres Preis Leistungsverhältnis haben .

Das Gelände ist sehr schön und kunstvoll gestaltet. Die Anzahl der Gäste ist begrenzt. Damit ist es nicht überlaufen. Phantastisch für Camping-Freunde.

Emplacement, calme, équipements et propreté.

Schöner großer Garten, ruhige Lage. Viele und gute Wanderungen direkt vor der Tür.

Leider gab es einen ständigen muffigen Geruch. Die Duschwanne im Bad war undicht, weshalb sich das Wasser im Bad verteilte und die entsprechenden Stellen verschimmelt sind.

Het huisje is erg koud en zeer vochtig. Er is verwarming, naar vochtig blijft het. Het bed was erg krap en lag niet comfortabel.

Endroit magnifique et très calme, les jardins sont superbes et très bien entretenus. Le logement est très spacieux et très propre. L’hôte est très serviable

Lieu très charmant, très beau jardin et une vue magnifique sur la montagne. L’ intérieur était aménagé avec goût et avec tous les équipements nécessaires.

Le salle d’eau peut rapidement devenir humide en l’absence de ventilation automatique vers l’extérieur. Il faut bien penser à ouvrir la lucarne voire la laisser ouverte toute la journée.

Wir hatten unglück mit dem Wetter ( war super kalt draußen) und es war manchmal ein bißchen kalt im Appartement.

Splendido giardino con possibilità di barbecue. Luogo molto silenzioso e immerso nella natura. Condizionatore e stufetta molto pratici per scaldare.

Casa perennemente umida, cucina non pulitissima, mancanza di televisione. Spazi molto ridotti.

Nous étions logés dans un des bungalows; c'est propre et coquet; très bien équipé La vue de la terrasse est magnifique. Endroit très calme à l'abri de la foule de Funchal. Grand jardin à disposition pour profiter de la flore tropicale. Nécessité toutefois d'être véhiculé

On nous avait annoncé un bar à bières dans le jardin mais il est resté fermé tout notre sejour; c'est dommage

Der Bungalow war sehr geräumig und sauber. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt. Der Garten ist traumhaft!

Leider haben die Handtücher sowie das Badezimmer sehr muffig gerochen. Man kann im Badezimmer durch das kleine Fenster kaum richtig lüften. Der Geruch war ziemlich unangenehm und verschwand über die Zeit leider auch nicht sondern wurde schlimmer.

Hunde in der Nachtbarschaft haben am Abend und ganz in der Früh ohne Unterbrechung gebellt. Dafür kann aber das Grannys nichts.

Great peaceful location surrounded by nature, with hammocks, barbecue, cozy cabins, and convenient parking. Friendly host, plus access to washing machine and dryer. Perfect if you want to relax or explore the north of the island.

A lot of mosquitoes and no mosquito nets, which made evenings less comfortable. It’s also quite far up in the mountains, so not ideal as a base for the whole island.

This camp in Madeira was probably the most beautiful accommodation I have ever stayed in. So well equipped and comfortable that we didn’t miss anything at all. The bathrooms and kitchen were located just a few steps away. Everything was very well organized and clean. The whole place is beautifully set up and truly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended – we would definitely love to come back!

The feeling what you can get there is awesome. Very friendly and lovely place. I really enjoyed the experience. These tents are the best part of the whole farm. But the outdoor kitchen and the company was also great.

Charmant endroit dans les falaises

L’emplacement était parfait, l’extérieur est très beau et bien entretenu. L’endroit est calme et reposant, c’était très agréable de pouvoir manger ou se détendre dehors. L’hôte est très sympathique et a répondu rapidement à nos questions. On trouve dans l’appartement tout ce qu’il faut pour cuisiner. Le parking est très pratique.

Le frigo fonctionne mais il n’y a plus de porte au congélateur et un bloc de glace gouttait.

Garden, Atmosphere

Tents were comfortable, cooking facilities great, beautiful location and property. Gardens are beautiful. We had a nice BBQ on our first evening.

Such a wonderful garden!! Loved observing the mountains around throughout the different times of the day. The tents are super comfy, loved the little private fridges inside and the cooking area is great! One of our favourite stays on the island.

The venue is gorgeous. There is a huge garden and the view around is beautiful. We had a lovely bungalow, well equipped and spacious. The place was quite and calm, we could cook and dine in the beautiful view.

The shower door was not closing firmly so the bathroom was a little flooded.

Common kitchen and bbq area well equipped. Washing machine not cheap but working well and easy

Tents could benefit from something to put your bags on instead of just on the floor and something firm to sit on instead of only sitting bags

The surroundings and the gardens (which are perfectly maintained) of Granny’s Farm are sooo beautiful. The kitchen/bar/bathrooms area is also very sweet and tastefully decorated, very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay surrounded by mountains!

Not a negative but there are a few local dogs who bark quite late into the night so I’d recommend some ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper!

Grannys farm was very very beautiful both in location and the little bungalow we rented was also very pretty and the amenities are pretty decent. Its a great area if you enjoy hiking relatively difficult hikes but we would recommend bringing a car to get around if you're planning on staying here.

There were a few things that let the place down, number 1 being that it is extremely remote and all of the shops nearby were cash only, which isn't mentioned anywhere on the site but could really negatively impact on a lot of people who chose to stay here. There is also no air-conditioning or even a fan in the bungalow which is extremely uncomfortable in the hot nights. The shower was only hot for about 3 minutes meaning if you were the second person to shower it was ice cold. We also found that Francisco the owner wasn't the best communicator, we opted to leave 3 nights earlier due to us not being able to rent a car and struggling to get ubers due to the location. We messaged Francisco asking where he would like us to leave the key on our exit and he didn't respond to us until much much later that day meaning we just ended up leaving the key in one of the plant pots. We know this was an issue with another couple staying as they were promised a lift to an ATM to withdraw cash as they weren't able to buy food and he then let them down last minute meaning they were going round knocking on doors asking others to help them out. We tried to visit the bar a couple times whilst we were there to find that it was shut everytime we tried to go with no signs when it would be open. We would also recommend going to the shop one minute down the road as there is far more variety there than the shop a 15 minute hike uphill which is recommended by the owner. Also be prepared to share your house with lizards and house centipedes.
