The structured five senses welcome by the Butler team sets an incredible tone for the immersive experience, ensuring that every guest feels deeply connected to the heritage of the region from the very first moment. A special recognition is well-deserved for Basher, Ali, and Abu Bakr for their exceptional hospitality and dedicated service. Their instant communication and attentiveness was highly appreciated.

This was a truly unique experience. If you are looking for a touch of the past, breathtaking nature, and the comfort of feeling at home, you should definitely choose Dar Tantora. I would especially like to mention Abu Bekr and Ali, whose warm welcome made us feel truly special. They were always there to guide and assist us, and their kindness and genuine warmth made our stay even more memorable. We are very grateful to them for everything and hope to return again one day. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the extremely hot weather. This, of course, had nothing to do with the hotel — we simply didn’t visit during the ideal season. The hotel even provided an additional cooling unit for our room and did everything they could to make us comfortable. We truly appreciated their effort and care.

Dar Tantora The House Hotel isn't just a beautiful hotel. It's literally the restored 800-year-old homes of the former inhabitants of AlUla. It makes you feel part of this history and transported back in time. Everything here is amazing—the beautiful decor, the wonderful aroma of bakhour, the delicious food, and all the wonderful staff. We fell in love with both the place and the people. We were here for six days and were sad to leave. It's impossible to describe—it simply has to be experienced. Thank you so much for your kindness, care, and the warmth you gave us: the front office manager, Mr. Hamza Alghamdi, Ali, Ibrahim, Aboubakar, Saleh, Naif, Muhammad Samih, Mohammed Albalawi, Shahinur, Kevin, Hassan, and all the others we haven't mentioned. We also thank the wonderful Blessie at the spa for the wonderful massages. We miss you all already, and rest assured, we'll be back one day! :)

Then the incense reached us lightly—as if the air had been misspelled and someone had finally inserted the missing letter with the peculiar authority that seemed to correct the very air around us. We turned and finally noticed the hotel—or rather, it felt as though it had chosen that exact moment to reveal itself. She stopped, and I stopped because she did. The door was open and I thought: if this is the threshold to Arabia Eudaimon, the legendary blessed south, whatever lies beyond justifies every blister, every silence, every morning I doubted our route. If the door to Arabia Felix is this beautiful, perhaps the place deserves the name. This town alone would have justified the journey—the quiet humiliation of everyone who arrives too tired to defend themselves against beauty. We stepped inside with the half-shame of accidentally entering a sacred place. Every stone, beam, and shadow was placed with deliberate care, and within it moved people of such improbable beauty that literature seemed suddenly provincial. Their beauty was not ornamental but structural, and because it altered the atmosphere, one felt the world briefly improved. For an uncounted number of days, we stayed. We slept in, allowing our bodies to forgive us for being bodies. Outside our window, the oasis performed its ancient trick, making survival look like sheer generosity—palms, birdsong, the irrigation of a patience older than any empire that tried to tax it. We understood then how sober men had exaggerated for millennia; its beauty made ordinary accuracy feel miserly. The morning we left, she closed the door with the care of someone closing a book she intends to reread. And because beauty always contains the seed of sorrow, morning brought sadness with a precision almost indecent. I understood then that this wasn't grief—grief is for things that end.

The three pictures of the King Abdulaziz, King Salman and the Crown Prince were diminutive (see uploaded pics), and are the same size as the hotel license and registration certificates. It is highly suggested that this situation be corrected to reflect appropriately on the royal leadership. On the adjacent walls are Vogue front cover issues that are framed in the same size as well that "drowns" the impact of the official national portraits. Royal Commission of AlUla are implored to rectify this inappropriate context.

The service was exceptional. From the pre-arrival engagement via WhatsApp, to the arrival on site, the butler Bashir, who explained everything and showed us the way. The food (dinner and breakfast) at Joontos was just amazing and the service team very attentive. We further more appreciated the upgrade of the room.

Incredible hospitality! Professional, friendly, above and beyond any expectations!

The place is amazing, the staff just couldn't do enough, the restaurant is great, and quite reasonably priced. The location was also really good, great base for exploring Al Ula and there was a bit of night life next door.

The property is beautiful, well designed, comfortable and well located. I loved the hospitality and the spa.

Incredible accommodations, even in May heat, rooms were comfortable at all times and amazing in morning and evening hours. Food was simply incredible, the Michelin reviewers should make a visit. History, luxury and amazing hospitality come together for an unforgettable experience!

When you first arrive, learning how to navigate through the gate to access the hotel can be a bit challenging.

Hotel eccellente. Atmosfera da mille e una notte. Posizione vicinissima alla old town raggiungibile o con le golf carts o anche a piedi. Personale gentilissimo e disponibile per ogni esigenza. Alì ci ha accolto e ci ha mostrato l'hotel ed è stato davvero gentile. Esperienza che va fatta, di notte è un incanto.

Ein absolut besonderes und ursprüngliches Hotel. Super zentral gelegen, um fußläufig in die Altstadt zu gelangen. Toller Service und Essen!

Tatsächlich die Beleuchtung, was aber auch zur Tradition des Hauses gehört. Es gab nur elektrisches Licht im Badezimmer, alles andere wird mit Kerzen ausgeleuchtet! Dies gibt dem Hotel aber auch eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre.

This hotel offered more than just accommodation. It is a heritage hotel in the 'Old Town' and the atmosphere in the hotel, especially at night, when the light came from candles, was a special experience. The staff were friendly and helpful and also knowledgeable about the history which made the stay more interesting.

The shower did not work very well.

Great experience in magnificent hotel, its a renovated old homes of Al Ula thats give you the genuine Arabian sense.

The breakfast at the Spanish fusion restaurant is INCREDIBLE. The rooms are large and cozy, the hotel is beautifully decorated, absolutely no complaints.

There were some hiccups from a service perspective, but after speaking with the general manager Hassan, he personally saw it that everything was corrected. I appreciate that they did everything to remedy the situation and provide an unforgettable experience.

The location, the facilities and the staff were amazing and reception staff very helpful. They even arrange the car rental and try to accommodate all our needs. The F&B is out of this world both dinner and especially breakfast that was the best non buffet breakfast we have ever experienced. Please keep it that way!

Although we understand that the concept is part of the experience, the rooms are exceptionally dark which makes everything difficult. The check in and room delivery should be cut shorter since it took too long, specially we arrive around 20h

Posizione eccezionale praticamente nella città vecchia (patrimonio dell'Unesco), struttura eccezionale come il resto della città vecchia, "stanze" stupende in stile originale ma con tutti i confort, illuminazione serale solo con candele (migliaia) ma con elettricità (discreta) dove serve. Servizio perfetto, sempre disponibili ed efficienti (avevamo prenotato con un agenzia on line un tour con autista che non si è presentato), in mezzora ci hanno accompagnato al Centro visitatori a prenotare gli ingressi ai siti storici (eccezionali) e procurato una macchina con autista parlante inglese. Cucina superba con assaggi di antipasti locali offerti e prezzi molto bassi. Alla sera è uno spettacolo eccezionale. Se andrete ad ALUla dovete andarci.

Our entire experience at the Dar Tantora was absolutely superb. It is a unique hotel in terms of its setting and a real heritage experience. However what really makes it exceptional is the amazing food and service to match.

We really appreciated how eco-friendly the property is and the effort put into creating a sustainable environment. The hotel is also aesthetically beautiful, with a unique design that blends nature, history, and architecture in a very elegant way. The overall atmosphere feels peaceful, authentic, and thoughtfully created.

What we did not particularly enjoy was our interaction with the Guest Relations representative. The way our concern was handled did not reflect the level of attentiveness and professionalism we would expect from a hotel of this standard. From our travel experience, guest relations should feel welcoming, proactive, and solution-oriented, which unfortunately was not the case during our stay.

The hotel overall experience was unique and excellent! The staff are friendly, and we enjoyed so much with the breakfast at the Joontos restaurant in the hotel, very delicious! The pool view was perfect too! The location was also good.

The only problem we encountered during the stay was that when there was other guest stayed at the room above us, the mud sands fell down to the bed and the bedside table. I hope the management can fix this problem.

Exceptional heritage property each room is unique and a photographers dream! The view from the hotel pool over the oasis and rock formation Top Restauraunt in Al Ula is in the hotel and was amazing I ordered many dishes and was exceptional ! Breakfast was a la carte and a great selection. Hospitality from staff was excellent and made to feel very welcome. I was traveling solo and they also took some pictures for me. The hotel at night lit only by candles is out of this world. Location in the heart of the old town.

A perfect home base to experience AL Ula. It is right across the street from the historical ruins - free access to the site is an experience in itself. We loved the five sense welcome ceremony, fantastic and scenic room, great restaurant on premises with regional and Spanish / Morocco influenced cuisine. Heated pool with a view of the ruins, check out the gym - never saw anything like that. Great breakfast. Very kind and accommodating staff. You can go for a run across the street in the orange tree grove. Loved our time at Dar Tantora - thank you!

Clean and location

Some staff who were not truthful about what they have to offer as they seem to be judgmental about certain clients. They told me there is no space to extend my stay and then I easily found spaces online and they didn’t even compensate for this.

فندق فخم من الآخر، نظافة، هدوء، تجربة جديدة (بناء الطين مع الحداثة) تحت ضوء الشموع، تستطيع الرؤية داخل الغرف ليس بالظلام الحالك، غرفتي كانت "دار اللبان" في الحقيقة هي دار تتكون من دورين تحوي أكثر من غرفة، إحدى الغرف دون سقف للنوم تحت النجوم. تقدر تسهر في سطح الفندق كوفي وجلسات مختلفة مع وجود عازف، وأحلى ما في الفندق المضيفين السعوديين، فخورة جدا فيكم، هذه شهادة أقولها قدام ربي (السعوديين ما يدخلون في شيء ألا يزيدوه رقيا وكرما وحفاوة). شكرا

الموقع خطوات للمدينة القديمه ،التصميم بشكل عام والاثاث وتصميم الغرفه وحجمها والديكور، القهوه، الشمووووع روعه يعتمد الفندق فقط على الشموع تضاء الشموع في جميع ممرات الفندق والغرف من الغروب مما يضفي جو رومانسي وهادئ ، الفطور ايضا جميل ومنوع ، المسبح اطلالته جميله على الجبال والنخيل ، الروف والموسيقى الحيه شكر خاص للعازف على الجيتار كانت سهرتنا يوميا تحت رعايته .. ايضا spa جميل جدا اعجبني .. كان حجزنا يوافق انطلاق شتاء طنطوره 22 ديسمبر استمتعنا بحضوره من الصباح حتى الساعه 11 عشر مساء حيث الديكورات الشعبيه الجميله والحمضيات، والنسوه عملوا على طحن الحبوب وخبزها، كما واعجبتني الاشغال اليدويه المتنوعه مثل صنع الحبال من كرب النخيل، كانت هناك ايضا الاهازيج والفرق الشعبيه المتنوعه شعرنا بالفخر للإهتمام بإرث الماضي .. وكان الفندق يعج بالسياح من مختلف الجنسيات فخوره في بلدي السعوديه لما وصلنا إليه.. رغم سفرياتنا لعدة دول في الخارج إلا أن هذة التجربه جديده كليا ومختلفه وجميله استمتعنا فيها .. العلا مدينه جميله خلال الموسم وتستحق التكرار ، شكرا للجميع الشباب والبنات بدون استثناء شعرنا اننا تحت ضيافتهم.

كان حجزنا يوافق انطلاق شتاء طنطوره وبما ان طنطوره جزءا من الفندق كان الحفل في باحة الفندق لم يعجبني ان ان المنظمين كلما مررنا يسألون هل انتم مدعوين ؟! هذا الحفل برايفت !! اوصلوا لنا شعور اننا متطفلين رغم احقيتنا كنزلاء .. غضب زوجي من ذلك التصرف جدا وقام بتهدئته احدى الموظفين مشكورا عذرا نسيت اسمه، اعتقد انه الشاب الذي يقدم القهوه ، بما ان حجزنا في الفندق كان موافقا للحفل يفترض نحن وجميع ضيوف الفندق يشملنا الحفل بشكل تلقائي ،اقترح توزيع بطاقات خاصه لنزلاء الفندق خلال انطلاق الحفل مما يكفل حق النزلاء وكرامتهم ويساعد في التنظيم.. الخدمه بطيئه في الروف نحتاج ان نبحث عن الموظف ليحضر الطلب واحدى المرات نسي الموظف احضار الشاي رغم قلة عدد الزوار !!

LOVED it. The people, the place, the history of the building. Everything about it was first class. Couldn't fault any aspect of it PLUS had the best sun dried tomato salad that i have ever tasted. Would recommend eating in the restaurant even if you are not staying in Dar Tantora.
