Recently stayed at Grand Madurai Hotel, and it truly exceeded expectations. The location is incredibly convenient—perfectly situated for exploring the city’s temples, markets, and transport hubs. Whether you’re heading to Meenakshi Temple or catching a train, everything feels just minutes away. What really stood out was the reception staff. Warm, professional, and genuinely helpful, they made check-in smooth and were always ready with local tips and assistance. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made the stay feel special. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The hotel is a bit away from the city, but an excellent facility. The inconsistency in service levels is why I hsve rated them 4. The day i checked out there was a local politician I believe and about 7 to 10 supporters who were having breakfast. While there were 5 to 7 restaurant staff assisting them and taking photographs with them, other guests were pretty much ignored. Great service from Chris at the front end and Mohan (during dinner one of the evenings). Very poor and arrogant service (including talking with food in the mouth) by the gentleman at checkout and the reataurant captain i believe. Positive experience but clouded by the inconsistency.

Very satisfying stay. Very clean and beautiful facility. Cheerful staff deliver excellent service. Spacious room even for a family of 3 adults. Very spacious and modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast. A La Carte Lunch and in-room dinner were quite good. Food prices are on the expensive side but comparable to that of similar hotels. Basement parking for private cars. All in all, a great experience. Probably the best option in Madurai. Highly recommended.

So far on my month trip this is the best hotel I have stayed at. That is a high bar as there are so many lovely hotels here in India. So thank you so much for looking after me so well.

Our recent stay at Grand GRT was exceptional. Loved the modern design and elegance of the property. Check in was smooth and there was complimentary drink offered. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive. The food at the restaurant included wide varieties and everything was delicious. This property is conveniently located at about the halfway point from airport to the city of Madurai

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Grand Madurai! From the moment I stepped in, I was blown away by how beautifully renovated the hotel is. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a traditional tulsi maalai, which added a warm and personal touch to the whole experience. 2eme hotel de la chaîne où nous résidions après le Grand Chennai by GRT et toujours la même satisfaction quant à l’accueil attentionné , le luxe des chambres et des parties communes , la restauration raffinée et savoureuse à un prix léger. La piscine est petite mais fort agréable après les visites de Madurai . Compter 15-20 mn de rickshaw ( 300 rs ) pour rejoindre le temple. Un sans-faute pour cet excellent hotel

Checkin wasn't good as expected. Room wasnt ready till 1530 and had to wait after 6 hours driving in a car.

One of the neat clean luxurious hotel in Madurai

It’s really a nice hotel outside city noise and not too far to city centre at the same time. Meenakshi temple is about 20 minutes drive. Hotel is very clean and spacious. Staff are very courteous. Hotel offers taxi services but rates are little pricey. You can book local red taxi or go with hotel service if you can afford little more because hotel taxi drivers are very professional and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Lovely hotel with a great restaurant. It’s a little way out of town but you can get an auto rickshaw (just to the left of the entrance). It cost us 300 R/s to get into the centre of town to visit the temple, also to get to the airport. The hotel is used by many tour groups which can be a downside but we felt all the staff worked hard to ensure the needs of other guests weren’t overlooked.

Nice hotel

In restaurant plates were not refilled and people have to wait fir more than 10.mins to get plates. Sad was no one was taking effort to get inspite of telling them. Also the cut fruits plate was empty and no refilling happened for more than 15 mins

This is an outstanding property with excellent services. This is less than 1 year old property. We are very impressed with our stay. I strongly ly recommend this hotel for your visit to Madurai.

The hotel was new, looks and feel like a 5 star hotel however, there are quite a few mosquitoes in the room and dinning area where the whole family was bitten. The hotel needs to sort this out ASAP.

I’m glad I found this hotel in Madurai. It’s new, clean and convenient to and from the airport. The restaurant is decent although the spread is small. Awesome gym. Would be nice if there was a sauna. Huge room. Overall well priced between size, facilities, location and convenience.

The very best place to stay in Madurai, I recommend this prefering to all other hotels. It is a island in a poor area, best choice for business people, who will have all necessary benefits for a nice stay, excellent restaurant, nice possibilities for relaxing in the hotel, a very friendly, customer minded personal, which does all necessary and even more to make the stay memorable. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would rate this hotel with 11.

Best hotel in madurai

The reason we book the hotel is for the location. It state near temple. But unfortunately it not. Expedia has given us a wrong information. Please correct the information Expedia. Overall we had a good stay. Enjoy their food.

I love the stuff and cleaness of the room and hotel the most. Only bottleneck I had was the bad reception of global wifi I brought. Besides that, it was nothing but great.

Really superb shiny new five star hotel just outside city. Bed so comfortable and all linen and fittings brand new. Great sleep. Very quiet. Superb breakfast both days. Highly recommend breakfast buffet. Nice lounge for Executive room booking but as of now no alcohol licence yet, so bar also closed. No bars nearby. Only downside is location, around 8kms from temple. Some confusion with hotels.com listing as it claims ‘walking distance to temple’. Even though that’s the reason I booked it, for temple visits, the luxury and breakfast more than compensated for the distant location. They seem to be confusing this GRT hotel with older GRT hotel near temple. Highly recommend this hotel. Great sustainability initiatives throughout also. And amazing quality of product for the price. Would pay four or five times this price for comparable hotel in Europe.

Well maintained property and good service by staff

Amazing 5 star hotel in Madurai. Great food and amazing staff. Was planned to stay at a named chain restaurant but wanted to try this and was pleasantly surprised. Better than any Marriotts or Radisson.

A beautiful hotel, where high standards of cleanliness and facilities meets eastern hospitality. The staff are lovely and the gym/yoga trainer was very knowledgeable. The hotel restaurants offered a wide variety of eastern and western food. The hotel was the highlight of our trip and was unmatched by others on our journey, and therefore a hotel worthy of recommendation.
