Our villa host lady,N, let the service down a little. She might perhaps benefit from more training in 5* hospitality.

Beautifully done villas with great facilities all round. It was good to have electric blankets in all the beds because it was chilly.
The fireplace didn't work too well (partly because the wood was damp & partly because of airflow in the fireplace) and so we had to forego having a fire which was a pity because it was rather chilly and having a fire going adds to the ambience of any stay in the KZN Midlands.

Reviewed May 1, 20251. The staff were very friendly and helpful. 2. Nonhlanhla was very accommodating when we had special requests. 3. The overall hotel facilities and the villa itself was comfortable and fairly well equipped. 4. The breakfast was good. 5. The property is well maintained and the location is very peaceful.
1. Our dinner food was average, lacked finesse and over priced. 2. The bathrooms are not well designed. Large glass panels are quite dangerous and easy to bump into. Getting the right temp on the shower was difficult and the shower floors were a little slippery. Showering can be quite cold without a door in such a large space. Modern designs are not always the best. 3. There is very little counter space in the kitchen. 4. It is strange to have drinking glasses stored so high up you need to use the ladder to access them. 5. Attention to detail is problematic. Upon arrival, the baby linen was dirty and the toilet paper had not been replenished from the previous guests. However, when we spoke to Nonhlanhla she was very apologetic and it was delt with immediately. 6. The place seemed to be managed by the staff with no formal manager on site. 7. The contenental breakfast table often lacked a few items and there was no space to put a bowl or plate down to dish up the food. There should be a selection of juices, jams, butter, honey, breads as standard on the service table. These are not expensive. We always had to ask for them. Overall there is just a lack of attention to detail. Something a manger may pick up if they were in attendance. As such the venue, despite the well appointed facilities in general, is poor value for money and does not fair well against the competition in the higher end accommodation market.

The shower is quite slippery, I wish they would put a bigger mat in the shower.

Reviewed Feb 9, 2025Supper was excellent. Breakfast was average. Hosts were great. Room was excellect. The main dining room at reception is a feast for the eyes - what a wonderful space.
Communication was lacking. They asked via a message if we wanted supper, but never responded when we asked what was on the menu. We left a voicemail message to ask them to return our call, but nobody called. They sent the chef to take our order when we got there, but the staff brought the wrong food at supper time. We mentioned that we didn't want garlic at supper time, but there was garlic in the food for breakfast. The toilet wouldn't stop flushing, and the seat was falling off. The previous guests or cleaner had left the electric blanket on, so when we went to bed the one side of the bed was super hot. Hairdryer had a plug that didn't match any wall plug in the room! These are small issues, which did not take away from the overall experience.

The freestanding 2 bedroom unit was modern, neat and has everything you need to enjoy your visit. WIFI, DSTV all working. Lovely place to relax as it is in a quite area and private. Bonus was breakfast included in the rate served in their beautifully decorated and furnished hall.
