Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff
Old and poorly maintained. Low water pressure. Leaks when it rains.
Hotellet er meget slidt.
the location is not far and close to the action in poblacion
water pressure and their hot water is from solar so during the evening theres no hot water
Staff were friendly & attended to the main issue I had, being that the safe was not working. I have always liked the art deco themed style of the building which is appealing compared to other multi story hotels.
Last stayed at the Clipper Hotel about 10 years ago where I stayed multiple times. The Clipper now looks nothing like it was back then, nothing like the photos on booking.com either. It is very run down now & badly needs a makeover & fresh paint. The shower in the bathroom had some rust & brown watermarks on the tiles, also shower head & faucets corrroded. The Clipper does not provide anything to eat now & you cannot even get a cup of coffee in the morning? I get it that it's more of an apartment type stay these days but would have been nice to be able to get a coffee even if they provided a vending machine in the hallway?

Die Lage ist sehr gut. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist hervorragend. Alles in Ordnung.

The hotel need to update lot
Lovely staff and excellent location
The room was spacious and the receptionists were very friendly.
None
Troppi rumori
Location was good. AC was nice and staff were helpful
Old and broken. Toilet didnt fill up after flush so had to manually fill each time. Window in the bathroom is wedged open so I had heat and sound coming in and front door had to be slammed to shut and the id card took 2 to 3 times to register.
Staff was great. Air conditioning worked well. Facility was clean
Area is noisy
Friendly staff, location, secure
It would have been nice to open balcony door
Room was clean and comfortable
Bruyant
Central and convenient. Affordable. Staff were always very friendly and engaging.
Rooms are very dark. A/c unit is loud.
Great staff, facilities, and ambience
The 'local' characters are very shady and dishonest
Central location, friendly staff, good wifi and aircon, has a fridge. Sustainable
Basic rooms but reasonably priced to reflect - the showers are terrible and need new heads as blocked/calcified and hardly any water comes from the head.
Price was very reasonable
Weak water flow from shower; Noisy neighbor at night
Rooms are big
Noisy, mosquito, no toothpaste brush, no hair dryer, no hot water,
Location (Makati center) reception 24 hours open, not expensive price,
The furniture in the room is very old, the woman at the reception is only looking at your face and saying good morning if you tell her for three times, there is no elevator, the bed isn't so comfortable, room very near to the main street so it's very noisy,
Noise from street
Dusche no funtiion
Not possible to shower
Great location and very cheap
Non functional shower
Size of the room. Full size refrigerator and microwave.
Many Maintence problems. Serious problems and a lack of security and watching out for guest safety that ended up requiring police involvement. Staff was very helpful at checking in, but became distant when leaking faucet, no functioning toilet, and no hot water followed by no water issues were raised. Toilet and hot water were eventually resolved, but water pressure was very low. Staff became distant and uncaring after this. Dated theme hotel.
Close to everything. Friendly and helpful staff.
Sometimes no water for showering. Very noisy area but to be expected with the area
Old school cool
I love the location, the vibes of the hotel and the hotel itself. This is highly recommended.
The pressure of the water in the shower is not okay. Kindly fix this. Also, no slippers available in the room.
Nice
The staff were the best thing about this stay. The two ladies shared the 24 hour shifts and always had time for a chat and a smile. The location was good if you enjoy a busy lifestyle with plenty going on for about 20 hours a day.
The room facilities were very poor. A balcony which was forbidden to guests. A promised security box was non-existent. Two twin beds pushed together with a ridge down the middle which meant I couldn't enjoy the luxury of spreading myself out on a double bed. The bed promised was Queen. Finally the two venetian blinds hadn't been maintained in centuries and refused to operate properly.
This was our third time staying at The Clipper House. This isn’t a typical hotel that you might be thinking of. For us, it’s classic architecture that reminds us of Manila from that time. Google PanAm clipper and you’ll see what we mean! The art decor, wood floors in the rooms and style of the building are absolutely classic!
It would be nice if the ceiling fans at the downstairs desk were on more often. I think it would help to move the air and make it feel a bit cooler.
- position
- the room has almost no light and it was almost impossible to open the gardens of the window - the overall quality of the furnitures cooks if course be better, but by the price that's acceptable
Clean and friendly staff.
The water pressure and the light outside our window was broken, it flickered the whole time. It wasn't so easy to fall asleep when there is a rave going on infront of your eyes.
Everything. The Clipper House looked awesome, but when we arrived the manager offered us a room in the sister venue nearby because of a small booking error. We agreed and we're very pleased. The sister venue is set in a stunning old Spanish villa, it's been beautifully restored and the location was perfect. The staff were really kind and accommodating, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of their venues in the future.
No complaints from me.
I like that the room was spacious and clean and it was sound proof. We couldnt hear the noise outside.
I think the area outside the room needs more maintenance. Other than that, it was a good value for money
Staff Mira , Clarrise, Marlon were super helpful , friendly and supportive... Will surely visit again
Accessible to transport and other amenities.
Near restaurant and convenience stores
Main light not properly working. We informed the staff but didn’t do anything. It’s noisy outsite even if the blinds are down.
Nicely located in a backstreet to Makati's Burgos Street, where the bars are.
No escalator.
The staffs was so helpful. Nice clean room. Breakfast was delicious. They really helpful especially am Deaf, they communicate with me so well. Tea was not on the menu but I was happy when I asked for tea and they do have tea. That was a relief.
Location
Noizy
The interior design. It has a vintage feel.
The shower wasn't hot enough.
The room is amazing
The location is too noisy, facing a very noisy street with drunk people shouting and heavy traffic
The location is great… but the facilities can use a upgrade.
I didn't like the TV size
Spacious room and cold aircon.
No parking available. You will have to pay the bystanders outside the hotel with no guarantee of a safety. One night after a tiring day, we had to double park and while resting I got a call about two times to move our car.
Perfect location for night life and food very friendly staff clean room
Good AC. Fridge inside the room. Bars and entertainment spots in walikg distance. Beds are spacious and comfy. Ample rooms with a high ceiling (which i like against the new fancy hotel rooms which are tiny space and low ceiling). I like their historic relationship to the nearby AyalaTriangle, which was the runway of former Manila Airport, in the 1930-ies.
Water pressure / water availability is an issue in the shower. 2nd + 3rd floor : no escalator nor lift.
The place has the lovely vintage charm of a Woody Allen's film. Rooms are big and everything is stylish and old. We loved the décor. Road works were ongoing under our window which meant nosiy days but quiet nights.
Main issue with the place is location, 40 min Grab car to the old city, too far. This is unless your thing is getting drunk with lonely expat grabdpas in decadent bars or contributing to the prostitution business, then location is perfect.
Good place very friendly near to night life...
Everything is good 👍
Shower dient work correct.
Friendly staff, amazing location.
The place is a bit run down, and not well maintained. Maybe they can invest in some renovations.
Location was good for this part of Makati.
Noise from the street almost every night.
Accessible, in the middle of Poblacion. Close to restaurants and bars. Lots of character - room wasnt sterile. There was a ceiling fan with light - it’s a nice add.
No slippers, lighting at night insufficient (purely mood lighting). Toilet window doesn’t fully close. Blinds still let in light, no actual cloth curtains.
No breakfast.
Staff were nice, but two staff gave me erroneous information regarding ground transportation out of Manila.
