We boekten een Luxe tweepersoonskamer met terras of balkon voor 4 dagen. We verkregen een kamer (304) net boven het zwembad die door het voortdurend enerverend geluid van de zwembad verwarmingsmotoren (van 6 AM tot 11PM) waardoor het schuifraam niet kon geopend worden of het terras gebruiken .. en door de warmte in de kamer van het onderliggend zwembad steeds de airco moest worden opgestart. Na 2 dagen kregen we een vervangingskamer voorgesteld met zicht op de parking of een uur welness. Beide voorstellen waren totaal niet interresant. We geven hiermee slechts aan dat deze slechte service van het hotel niet acceptabel is, en een slechte ervaring was qua prijs/kwaliteit.

My room was so cold the first evening that my fingers went white. I don't know how you can resolve that.

Sally in reception who upgraded us to a king-size classic with sea view. The amazing hydrotherapy spa area. Comfy bed. Great location. Decent breakfast.

Our room was very clean and comfortable, nice coffee machine and a handy fridge. Good mirrors and plenty of plug sockets. Dinner in the more relaxed restaurant, Nourish, was very good and breakfast was one of the best we’ve had, plenty of choices and delicious. All members of staff we met from reception, bar and restaurant and the gym and pool were polite, helpful, cheerful and really seemed to enjoy their work. Nothing was too much trouble. It was exceptional service and a great experience, shame it was only for one night but we will be back!

Tables weren’t wiped. Had the Crab linguine, paid £26 and barely any crab, felt ripped off considering how much the room cost. Power went in room for about an hour in the evening, no compensation offered at the time, or when I brought upon checkout, just “oh that’s annoying”. Some staff unprofessional with each other in public view in restaurant, chasing each other, was clearly meant in jest, but for the type of establishment this is portrayed as didn’t come across well. Was okay, felt a little underwhelming, was only a small twin, but again for the hype and price of the hotel, wasn’t blown away.

Food was good. Breakfast was a bit hectic.

Bathroom and shower were tiny. Also a shelf would be handy in the bathroom. There is nowhere to put anything.

The staff were excellent with us and 2 young kids. Friendly and helpful (they even gave us a packed breakfast on our last day as we had to leave really early!) The gym and class access was great and the pool was fab for the kids. Set times, but not super restrictive. The location was good, right on the beach and a short walk to town. The room was comfy and big enough with complimentary tea and coffee which was a nice touch.

To say we didn’t like it would be unfair. Although brasserie staff was very slow in responding while restaurant and bar staff was excellent. No air conditioning in the room and the bed was far from comfortable.

Zum Teil schöner Ausblick auf die See. Muss man aber extra buchen und teuer bezahlen.

Alkes. Kein vier Sterne Hotel ( vielleicht Standard in England?! ). Zimmer schlichtweg eine Katastrophe. Keine Klima, kein Safe, keine Mini-Bar, keine Bad Accessoires etc. Bei Anreise Zimmer nicht sauber, Wasser am Waschtisch läuft nicht ab. Dreck und Haare vom Besucher vorher sichtbar. Lüftungsteller total verdreckt und Teppich dreckig. Bei der Abreise direkt sichtbar ein total schlecht gereinigter Fahrstuhl speziell die Türen einfach eklig. Totaler Reinfall und überteuert. Die ganze Freude auf einen tollen Urlaub von vorne herein erstickt. Nicht zu empfehlen!!!!! Service bemüht. Kein kaltes Wasser möglich und das Essen inclusive Frühstück nicht europäischer Standard. Alles etwas in der Zeit stehen geblieben.

Cleanliness of our room

Tolle Lage mit Blick und in Strandnähe, auch nur 15 min zur Innenstadt. Sehr gutes, großes Gym. Schöner Pool, nur zu bestimmten Zeiten für Kinder (bis 16 Jahre) zugänglich- aber auch von externen Gästen fleißig genutzt, daher oft relativ voll, gleiches gilt für den angeschlossenen steam room und Sauna. Bademäntel im Zimmer, Handtücher vor Ort verfügbar. Spa im anderen Gebäude extra kostenpflichtig. Kaffee und Wasser im Zimmer. Gutes Frühstück.

2 Restaurants, davon ist das hochpreisigere nicht sein Geld wert, schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Insgesamt ist das Gebäude in die Jahre gekommen, teils schmutzig, abgegriffen, renovierungsbedürftig. Der Anspruch des Hotels scheint hoch zu sein, es werden entsprechende Preise aufgerufen, aber den Erwartungen, die dadurch entstehen, wird es sicherlich nicht immer gerecht. Richtet sich offensichtlich an ein sehr solventes Publikum, aber den dafür erforderlichen Standard liefert es eben nicht immer. Kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer.

Der traumhafte Blick.

Keine Atmosphäre im Pool. Kaum Ausruhen Möglichkeiten da. Hohe extra Kosten für anderen Spa. Es wurde bei Booking nich explizit erwähnt. Sehr laut im Zimmer, da das Zimmer neben einer Tür im Korridor lag, die dauernd eröffnet und laut zugeschlagen wurde. Dazu lag es neben einem Kleinen Lagerraum vom Hotel. Da wurde auch dauernd laut gearbeitet.

- very limited in the room amenities, no AC, very basic for what the price was - restaurant and entrance had a very bad odour which we didn’t like, like old mop smell - at the end of the day we stayed at better value spa hotels in the region, so was disappointed vs expectations

the spa need extra pay GBP40 then can use the outdoor and indoor massage pool. Our booking should be twins bed room but just can have double bed for us.

Room was much larger than we expected, bed super comfy, excellent bathroom and shower. The hotel generally is really lovely, very welcoming and relaxed. The bar and restaurants (there are two!) areas were superb, and the Spa facilities were outstanding. We had a meal in the bistro on one night, which was really good, and breakfasts were superb. A very short walk down to Gylly beach, which is lovely, and the Gylly Cafe which we ate in as well. Overall, a fabulous place to stay for a few nights!

The room we stayed in was on 1st floor, and the room above suffered with really quite creaky floorboards, with early mornings disrupted a little by our vertical neighbours (not their fault!). We raised it with the staff on the desk when we checked out, and they took the issue seriously, and were going to pass it onto their maintenance team.

Hotel ma rewelacyjną lokalizację, tuż nad plażą, co od razu podnosi komfort pobytu. Na miejscu dostępny jest basen, spa, kilka restauracji oraz bar, więc można spędzić czas bardzo wygodnie bez wychodzenia z obiektu. Całość jest utrzymana w świetnej czystości, a śniadania serwowane są zarówno z karty, jak i w formie bufetu. Dużym atutem jest też obszerny parking z wieloma wolnymi miejscami oraz przemiła, pomocna obsługa.

Jedynym minusem były odgórnie wyznaczone godziny otwarcia basenu dla dzieci, które nie do końca spełniły moje oczekiwania. To jednak niewielka uwaga na tle bardzo dużej liczby zalet tego obiektu.

Great staff who were very attentive. The free paddleboards were a nice touch.

Well kept gardens . Very clean rooms. Lovely shower and comfy bed.

The cocktails were a little uninspired served in not very nice glasses . Could do better . Coffee machines needed in rooms not instant coffee . Needs two people at 11 am checkout on reception .

Our room was number 32 - avoid.. Dark.. next to the kitchen fans.. no view! Very expensive nightly rate!

Great place, set on a hillside with amazing split level facilities and cascading gardens. Well maintained, spotlessly clean.

Good looking resort, and great service. Good location right next to one of the best beaches in the area, but some very basic elements are overlooked/missing - No safe in the room! - No full length mirror! - No beach towels or baskets (2 mins walk from the beach) - No tissues or toiletries around the pool / health club - No cupholders for toothbrushes etc - Room telephone not working - Patchy WiFi. Could use extenders / mesh Don't think will visit again

The hotel was lovely and staff were very accommodating with a smile on their faces.

No air conditioning in our room, it was very hot and sleep difficult. Also the menu should be changed in the restaurants, we stayed four nights and it didn’t change.

The cooked breakfast was very poor; the selection was limited, the food had been on display for a long time and was very unappetising, and the coffee machine kept failing every morning. The housekeeping didn’t empty the bins or replenish the water daily and there was no fridge so the milk un refrigerated, and the tea choice was limited. The furniture was dated. Impersonal and rushed concierge experience.

Für englische Verhältnisse: ein sehr gutes Frühstück! Das Essen im Restaurant Nourish war sehr gut. Wir hatten nach einem upgrade eine Spa Lodge. Wunderschön!!!

Die Zimmer im Haupthaus sind leider nicht so schön. Die Ausstattung ist ok. Es gibt aber keine Klimaanlage und es war sehr warm in den Zimmern.

Great location near a sandy beach, although a 15 min walk to town. Food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Airconditioned rooms were very welcome in the high temperatures during our visit.

It’s a shame the huge apartment block impedes the view from some of the hotel.

Wanted longer in the hydro spa!!!

We stayed in this hotel in April and after we checked out they charged my card £150 which related to a smoking fee. We stayed in a room with a private courtyard and were not informed at any point that smoking was prohibited in that outdoor area. There was no signage in the room or courtyard, nor were we advised of this policy during check-in or at the time of check-out. We stayed for two nights, and even after the first night, no member of staff raised this issue with us. Additionally, when checking out, we were not informed of any issue or that a charge would be applied. Not long after check out they charged my card with no prior notice. If a fine is being issued, customers should be given reasonable notice to pay it and arrange payment fairly but this was not the case. I contacted the hotel about the issue as soon as I got home, but my email was completely ignored. I raised a dispute with Revolut, who ultimately helped me recover the money. This was easily the worst customer service experience I have ever had. The policy is not made clear to guests, and the lack of transparency is definitely intentional, making it far too easy for customers to be caught out and fined.

Well located and laid out.

Our room was very small. On arrival we are shown to our room by a receptionist who did not bother to use the lift to take us to our room which was on the top floor of the property. Instead we had to use the stairs; fine for me with my case, but not so for my wife with hers.

The food in the restaurant was not good value and we didn’t particularly enjoy it

The location is incredible, the on site facilities are excellent and the healthy restaurant food was lovely

My room smelt of smoke and I needed to move but the only option was an upgrade which I needed to pay for. A staff member kindly offered us free drinks and a discount on food which came to about 25% of the upgrade. It would have been nice to have been moved at no charge.

Perfect Cornwall location

Its right on the beach. Good Breakfast and clean rooms. Even though limited parking is available including nearby street parking.

Generally hotel around the globe would allow check in well before the check in time, the check in time was 15:30 and we were thereby 15:10 and still they wouldn't check in until 15:30 which was surprise for me.

Dinner in the Nourish restaurant was poor

The location was lovely. We enjoyed using the gym and swimming pool. There was a wide choice at breakfast and the evening meal in the restaurant was delicious. Our room was very comfortable.

We have stayed at this hotel before in the same room type and had a terrace with sun beds. This time we got a balcony, that accommodated two chairs (just) and were told we couldn’t use the spa sun loungers
