The service was excellent. It was quiet and peaceful. A hidden gem.

Is a beautiful place, so peaceful, quite. Beautiful garden and everything really clean.. Shashika prepared us such wonderfull meals. Really good breakfasts. The room is very nice with beautiful views. I would go back and I recomend it.

Nothing but if I had to say something is the way to the place. There was some tuk tuk drivers that didn't want to take us there, but happy sky ella have tuk tuk and they can pickup/drop off you to the center. we rent our own for a couple of days.

Très joli logement en dehors du centre agité d'Ella mais proche quand même. Parfait pour se reposer ou démarrer une balade. Personnel discret et disponible à toute heure.

The room and bathroom were both lovely. The chef is excellent and cooks a variety of Sri Lankan dishes. Our host was very accommodating and even drove us to Ella to catch our train! Please note that the property is only accessible via tuk tuk - the road is too narrow for cars.

nice place - but far away

We had a great stay. We were the only ones wh8le we were there. The staff was great in helping with everything. The accommodation is comfortable and very clean. The view is great and the restaurant had great food.

Nothing really. It's a bit difficult to reach as cars or vans can't go in the last bit of the road, but they came with their tuktuk to pick us up 300 meters from the hotel. We also walked to that bit of the road when we needed a tuktuk, which was actually nice as we saw a lot of monkeys during those walks. You can also choose to call tuktuk right to the hotel if you dont want to do the walk.

We had a lovely one night stay in Ella . Our stay at Happy sky ella was wonderful amazing place and definitely the best accommodations of our Ella trip. The owners are exceptionally kind ,warm,and welcoming & made us feel welcome from very first movement . The location is perfect quite and peaceful allowing for truly restful night . Enjoying coffee a teapot served in proper cups on the balcony .is a simple pleasure that tastes absolutely magical . Beautiful and very clean kitchen.They prepared very delicious dinner as we necessary and also breakfast .abundant and varied food items. The room was very clean and big and the balcony views were amazing. I wil definitely return to this place because really brilliant a lovely accommodations .good value for money .( The hosts were so friendly and warm welcome for me & my wife )❤️❤️😍 I would definitely recommend .

Good relaxing place. A nice room and a clean bathroom. It was very comfortable for us. Breakfast was good but needs improvement.

Die Unterkunft war sauber und schön eingerichtet. Vom Balkon aus hatte man einen tollen Ausblick. Man muss allerdings damit rechnen, etwas Geld für Tuktuk-Fahrten in die Hand zu nehmen, da die Unterkunft auf einem Berg etwas außerhalb der (Innen-) Stadt liegt. Das Personal war hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Frühstück (und auch das kostenpflichtige Abendessen) waren super lecker.

Lovely stay just outside the centre of Ella with a view on the city and valley. Staff is super nice and prepared us a little breakfast bag when we left early in the morning. Definitely recommended!

Wir haben als Pärchen ein Zimmer mit Terrasse gebucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die ganze Anlage ist super gepflegt und bietet sehr viel Natur um einen herum, was sich auch auf die Aussicht bezieht. Ishara und das Team sind wundervolle Menschen. Sie haben sich stets um alles gekümmert, waren immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Eines Abends haben sie sogar extra nochmal die Küche für uns geöffnet und uns Essen gekocht, obwohl besagte Küche eigentlich schon geschlossen war. Wir können die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen! Danke Happy Sky!

Das Personal war super freundlich und hat uns bei allen Anliegen sofort unterstützt. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr willkommen und rundum wohlgefühlt. Die Unterkunft war makellos sauber und sehr gepflegt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die perfekte Lage: etwas abseits des sehr touristischen Zentrums von Ella, wodurch es angenehm ruhig ist, und dennoch ideal gelegen. Die Wanderung zum Ella Rock kann direkt von der Unterkunft aus gestartet werden. Zudem befindet sich ein wunderschöner Wasserfall nur ein paar Minuten entfernt.

Ausblick vom Balkon Frühstück besonders die Sandwiches Wasserdruck und Warmwasser schön gestaltete Anlage Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit (haben uns einen Transfer organisiert)

Lage bisschen weiter außerhalb Hauptstraße ins Zentrum kurvig und viel befahren weshalb es uns vorallem im dunkeln zu gefährlich war auf dieser zu Fuß zu laufen (kein Fußweg oder Seitenstreifen vorhanden ) Tuktuk kostete 1.000 Rupien für eine Strecke

Very nice tidy place, quietly on the hillside outside the hussle of Ella town. Very kind staff, laundry service well arranged and tasty breakfast! Very spacious cabins too.

Very friendly staff, beautiful views from the rooms, nice breakfast, close to Ravana Cave and the hike to Ella Rock

No duvets, and it got quite cold at night, with only very light blankets, had to ask for 2 extra blankets which the friendly staff were happy to give, but they should have duvets. Also, it’s a very steep and narrow road to the hotel, we drove up it but would not recommend driving it.

Personnel accueillant et aux petits soins. Petit déjeuner copieux et repas du soir préparer par leurs soins simple mais très bon. Pas dans le centre d’ella mais pas loin du tout, pas la nuisance sonore du centre mais prévoir un tuktuk pour chaque déplacement.

We had wonderful time at Happy Sky Ella. The staff was very helpful in arranging transfer for us, preparing great breakfast and assisting with any request. The location is near Rawana cave, a bit out of Ella center in a wonderful location surrounded by trees. The rooms are spacious and clean.

Erg schoon, ruime kamers, top douche, heerlijk ontbijt, vriendelijk personeel, je loopt zo Ella's Rock op wat een must is!

Je zal met tuk Tuk naar hotel moeten ipv mini van, dat betekende voor ons 3 tuk tuk's , 2x 2 personen en 1 voor bagage

Die Aussicht ist grandios! Die Unterkunft ist neu, sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Gastgeber haben alle unsere Wünsche und Anfragen erfüllt und möglich gemacht. Frühstück und Abendessen ist liebevoll angerichtet und schmeckt sehr gut.

Das Kissen und die Decke waren nicht sehr komfortabel. Das Kissen war sehr prall und hart. Die Decke war aus synthetic.

The rooms were rustic and like private villas. The room with the mountain view in which we stayed has an incredible view in the daytime. The property is very green with a lot of beautiful flowers. The manager Fahmee was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make sure that our stay was comfortable and convenient. Even though the property is bit off the road and not accessible by some vehicles, it was super easy to arrange tuktuks to head into town. We were provided with a lovely breakfast each morning including an assortment of tropical fruits.

The property is a bit off the road so it isn't easy to access by larger vehicles.

The Staff.

The location. Your car won’t reach there, you need a steep 10 minute tuktuk drive (500 LKR each way). Rooms were basic, there was no AC and electricity was fluctuating, meaning we had to turn the fan on/off hundred times at night.

Gorgeous location and absolutely beautiful buildings. Incredible wildlife; we saw beautiful endemic birds, a lemur and a small wild cat of some kind. Hotel manager was so kind and patient and the breakfasts were the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Top tip, ask him to put you in touch with Sugala, a brilliant tuktuk driver - super reasonable and lovely bloke. Also close to a set of stairs for a challenging but unique entrance to Ella Rock!

It was nice to be surrounded by nature and away from the hustle and bustle of Ella. Breakfast was tasty and generous.

Everything was perfect

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city—surrounded by greenery and very peaceful. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained and the food was also good.

However, we were extremely disappointed with the laundry service. At €30, it was already quite expensive, but to our surprise, our clothes were returned still damp, unpressed, and our white items had a noticeable yellow tint. This was very frustrating and definitely not the quality of service we expected.

Very nice and large room with a balcony offering a stunning view of the mountains. The location is perfect, right at the foot of the hike to Ella Rock, and the staff is super friendly.

Food is decent but not very special.

I loved my stay here! Beautiful, spacious, clean rooms, an amazing view, good location for the hike to the Ella rock and always a good chat with the hotel manager. The tuktuk driver who lives next door became my personal driver. Everyone was so friendly and I felt sad to leave.

Power plug points were less. No foods available at the hotel expect breakfast. we were to use tuk tuk to get food. Pick me coverage is not there. We have to use tuk tuk to get our luggage to the hotel as our car couldn’t make it up the steep road.

Great breakfast, something different every day

First beds were not comfortable, the staff immediately allowed us to switch rooms and that room had a much better mattress

The communication via WhatsApp worked really well and they helped us to organize everything we wanted. The hotel is in the nature. Breakfast was fine but not big or many options.

We were really unlucky and it rained all the time, so the bed sheets and towels were damp and we had to ask for more stuff. The communication with the person at the hotel was difficult because he was not friendly, never asked if we needed anything and didn't understand us that well. The beds are hard so not a comfy night and the shower in the bathroom is directly next to the toilet which was annoying because of the high humidity.

Secluded and peaceful place, with only 3 rooms so staff were always there to help and support. Location is out of town but loved this as was away form the noise of the road and the busyness. Breakfast was great and they even provided traditional food for us to try. Views a great.

We really enjoyed staying at Happy Sky Ella. The staff was extremely friendly and helped a lot. The food was very delicious in the restaurant. It was amazing to stay on the other side of Ella. The night was very quiet, in the middle of the nature. During the night you listen to the noises of a creek and you have a beautiful view on Ella.

The view was breathtaking. The accommodation was very aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast was good too - we especially enjoyed the fruit plate. It was generally easy to communicate with staff. And: lovely hot shower!

Two out of three nights we spent there, there was a loud party nearby … we booked this place especially for some quiet time. You can hear everything inside the room, which meant that we weren’t as rested and relaxed as we had hoped (bring earplugs!). Apart from that, it can also get really cold at night (this comes down to the way the house is built - we felt an indoor breeze). Bare in mind that you need a tuktuk to get to Ella Town.

Location was lovely just outside the town of Ella.

Well-meaning staff were actually too attentive and possibly need to take a step back... We were challenged on why we didn't want to have a drink on arrival! Strange kind of vibe... Too hovering! Fresh sheets to sleep under are only given out 'on request'... this made it feel like a hostel... Sheets should be provided at this price on the mattress and also one to sleep under.

The hotel is brand new so everything was comfortable, and the view is amazing you feel surrounded by nature.

Unfortunately it is quite far for the city so you have to take (and pay) for a Tuktuk to go anywhere. Short power cuts also occurred.

Happy Sky Ella was an absolute gem! It's one of the best places to stay in town. The rooms were impeccably clean and tidy. I was really impressed to learn that the owner built the entire property himself. The design and architecture are top-notch. The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They even assisted us in renting two motorbikes, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, it was a perfect stay, and I highly recommend Happy Sky Ella to anyone visiting Ella.

Breakfast needs to be much better with more varieties, options and a sizable portion as this hotel is located out of the city...

Surely Better Parking facilities... This is the foremost requirement on priority...

We loved our stay here, the rooms were spacious, clean and everything very new. The location is incredible, up a narrow road in the hills but not too far to town by tuc tuc, the host was very helpful and friendly and our family felt so welcome. The cook is a true chef and we had some of the best food of the trip with unique options from local seasonal vegetable curries and seasonal local fruits . We looked forward to our dinners and highly recommend for Sri Lankan dishes . This quiet location is perfect for relaxing.

The location is harmonious, filled with the sound of birds. Small and cosy, perfect for our family. New, clean and very modern facility attractively laid out. Even the mosquito nets, bed linen and towels had a wonderful smell. We have travelled extensively to many countries of the world - the staff at Happy Sky are the most professional and helpful staff we have encountered. Earl is a legend of note (he plays the ukulele and is a charming conversationalist), special thanks to him. The cook-driver was totally awesome. We wish this establishment continued success and all of the very best. Thank you.

This was our best stay in Sri Lanka.

The location is unique. The people who work there are wonderful and made us feel very comfortable. The place is spotless and very well-maintained.

Location, facilities and staff are amazing! I would highly recommend this place.

The rooms are new and very clean, located in a beautiful place in the woods. Earl the manager and the staff are very welcoming and nice and helped with everything we needed. Breakfast is tasty. It's near hiking routes to a waterfall and Ella's rock. We will come again!

The house was new and fantastic

No privacy the only person who talked english was there only to talk with the guests as the other staff doesent talk english. He was Constantly talking to us no privacy since people wanna enjoy their stay also one morning without talking to anyone who serves the food. Constantly wanted to know our plans because meals would require 2 hours preperation. The person responsible to talk in englisch was the whole time arround and even asks us for cigarettes and looks on our balcony all the time and ask us how we are offers us that they can make food ... he ment it nice and was overhelpful its just not nice when u look for some privacy. The breakfast was ok for ella but could be better. They made a mistake and almost overcharged for the scooter. The road was not finished yet so we had to hike all the time up and did Not recieve discount.

We really enjoyed our stay. Location is quiete, surrounded by beautiful nature. Hotel is brand new with very nice designed contruction. The staff was very attentive and kind. Food is simple but very tasty and fairly priced. Highly recommended.

can't find anything we did not like...

We were the first guests. This was the best welcome in Sri Lanka till so far. Very nice and clean appartement on a Good location near the waterfall and halfway on Ella rock. The staff gets a big 10 points: friendly and they do anything to give you a Good feeling. Breakfast and diner was very good. We had grillen fish and chicken for diner and it was perfect. Even breakfast was a great variaty. We had a perfect time at Happy Sky Ella so come to visit them.
