It’s very convenient, properly cared for and does what it says on the tin!

You have to accept there are no windows which some may not like, but that’s part of the property description.I don’t mind.

I liked the shower and the bed was very comfortable . The lack of windows allowed me to have an exceptionally restful sleep.

Great value, good location. This is really good value for money. Everything you need for one night stay.Clean and comfortable.

There isnt any parking. It would be helpful if there was clearer guide to this online.

Pretty pricey, but it was available during a busy week. Oban Games were on. There are no windows, not a problem but I would suggest fitting a timed light that mimics sunrise. I think more than 3 nights here would destroy your body clock.

As a ferry enthusiast who likes a quick pint and a meal in between trips the location is exceptional. Easy to access, the rooms are so convenient. We didn't meet any staff but the communication via email was great. The door and room lockson your email was so useful

The location was very good! The price was great. The room was small, but we expected that, and it was put together nicely. The bathroom was a good size and was clean and the showerhead was nice. And although there were no windows (again, as we expected because they made us aware before we booked) there was plenty of lighting in the room.

The only thing that wasn't ideal was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. There is a warning on the door about keeping the door closed before, during and after showers so as not to set off emergency alarm.

Location was excellent next to the CalMac ferry terminal. Room was clean and serviceable - above and beyond, and in much better condition, than many other 2-star or even 3-star properties.

The keycard/guest access system was dodgy and took several hours to resolve. The staff couldn't be quickly contacted through any means but a phone call - WhatsApp communication would have made this a lot easier to coordinate. Room also wasn't as quiet as I'd hoped and could use better soundproofing.

Perfect location for ferries and shops/ pubs. Details about how to get in worked perfectly. Room was really comfortable especially due to air con.

Slight ongoing noise from restaurant above / thin walls to neighbouring rooms but not really an issue for us.

Great location if you have to take the ferry or the train cause it's literally 1-2 min walk from the hotel. For a room without windows the interior is quite comfortable. The staff is great. I had a small issue with the check-in and they reacted super fast, and friendly.

L'absence de fenêtre et la très petite surface de l'hébergement sont pesantes dès le deuxième jour. En passant la journée en excursion dans les iles autour, cela reste supportable pour une ou deux nuits.

Great location on the front of Oban next to the ferry port. Really cool room with mood lighting.

Being proper picky, the bed was a bit on the high side, same with the toilet but didn’t really take away from the stay.

Fantastic location. Had a bit of an issue getting in but the staff on the phone were great. It had all amenities my friend and I needed for an overnight stay in Oban. Incredibly comfortable beds, a private bathroom and close to everything. If you’re expecting a hotel stay, this is maybe not where you want to stay. But when I come back, I’ll be checking here first.

It is literally what it says, a box windowless with a bed and a wee desk. Good bathroom. Good location. Good air conditioning. Pretty clean. Basically, perfect for sleeping and spending the day wondering around.

L'hôtel est placé dans une petite zone industrielle, entre le port et la gare ferroviaire. A l'ouverture de la porte, nous sommes accueillis par une forte odeur des égouts. Visiblement, la chambre n'a pas été utilisée, ni nettoyée depuis un bon moment vu une bonne couche de poussière sur le mobilier. A la première utilisation, le lavabo innonde le sol de la salle de bain. Heureusement, le personnel est très réactif et la réparation à été effectuée rapidement. Un minuscule crochet dans la salle de bain ne permet même pas d'y accrocher une serviette. La ventilation n'est pas au top, tout reste humide. D'ailleurs, un avertissement sur la porte de la salle de bain stipule qu'il est déconseillé d'ouvrir sa porte pendant une douche puisque cela risque de déclencher l'alarme incendie 🤔 Le lit est assez grand mais placé à une hauteur inhabituelle. Faute d'un marche-pied j'ai dû grimper sur la chaise pour y accéder.

Die Raumaufteilung war ziemlich gut, der enge Raum gut ausgenutzt, dass zwei Leute Platz haben zum Umziehen, Sogar noch eine Ecke zum Schreiben etc. Es gab ein kleines Problem beim elektronischen Türschloss, das wurde aber sofort vom Management bemerkt und in ganz kurzer Zeit kam unaufgefordert eine freundliche Dame zu Hilfe. Das Badezimmer ist sehr schön und nagelneu.

Das obere Stockbett ist etwas schwierig zu erklettern.

The Pier rooms are right on the seafront in Oban - excellent location! We did have difficulty finding the place as it was nowhere near the postcode location the navigation took us to but a very helpful lady on the phone number provided helped us out and got us into the property which is actually unmanned at the location. The rooms are actually located under a restaurant and we were slightly disturbed in the early hours by the noise the morning staff made. The rooms were basic, modern, practical and very clean. It’s not that easy to get into the slightly elevated beds so I wouldn’t recommend the place for anyone physically challenged. The rooms have no windows either which I personally loved as I wasn’t awoken by any early morning Scottish sunshine!

The room was immaculately clean and comfortable! Digital check-in was easy and efficient. In theory, would have been the perfect place to stay - however everything went wrong.

We stayed here one night before boarding an early morning ferry the next day. We didn’t want anything fancy just somewhere clean and comfortable to get a good nights sleep before our trip. Unfortunately this was not possible. Do not book these rooms unless you are happy with ZERO sleep. There was an incredibly loud droning noise (possible plumbing related) that occurred about every 15 minutes until about 1am. Furthermore, some of our fellow Pier One occupiers that night were incredibly inconsiderate and loud, banging on the doors and talking loudly in the early hours of the morning. We didn’t have any issues with noise room to room but the hallway and outdoor area (we were in Room 11) was extremely loud. Someone from another room then set the fire alarm off at 3:30am which meant we all had to evacuate. The fire brigade and (I assume) owner were very efficient and we were back inside before 4am but as you can imagine this was another huge disturbance. Finally, the cleaning and prep for the restaurant upstairs began at 6:00am which was also incredibly loud. Lots of loud hoovering, like suitcase wheels being dragged back and forth on our ceiling. We ended up having one of the worst nights sleeps we’ve ever had and this had a knock-on effect for our two day trip over to Mull. Very disappointing considering how nice and comfortable the actual room itself was.

You should be aware that as the location is perfect for local transport connections (ferry, train & bus all 2 min’ away) it attracts a lot of early morning departures and consequently there’s a lot of door slamming 4.30 - 6.30 am.

Extremely convenient location next to train bus and ferry. Modern, clean and warm. Really good value for money. Communication was excellent. Water, tea TV, good sized shower and bathroom.

Windowless may not suit everyone but we preferred it for security. Best suited for shorter stays. Decor a bit dark, may be a challeneg for older travellers.

Property was right next to the train station and wetherspoons so did not need to commute far to check in and out of the hotel.

Found it a bit challenging working the shower to get it to a good temperature. This was probably user error though.

2nd time here - will stay again. The bed was a little high mind - one of us could have slept under it!

The location was fantastic, the room was spotlessly clean and with great air conditioning. Access via a Web page also worked really well. Rooms without windows are also no problem, just like an inside cabin on a cruise ship.

The height of the bed was dangerously high and impossible for my wife to get in and out at 5ft 4in tall, without using a bag as a makeshift step. The rooms are also very small, OK for a night or 2 but definitely cramped.

Location is superb for use of the ferry, coach and train.

Everything was explained before I booked so can’t complain. For me personally being able to leave the luggage before and after check in would have improved our holiday and would gave us more time to explore oban and the islands without carrying the luggage. Otherwise the hotel is great for everything you need; modern and clean, great shower, a kettle with tea and coffee, toiletries, towels. It’s like a boat cabin without a window.

Superb location. Within one minute of walking you have the ferries, the train station, the bus stops, breakfast, dinner, drinks, etc. Within a couple of minutes walking you are in the very heart of the town. The room was very clean and comfortable. Very nice cleaning lady. Small, of course, but that is exactly as advertised. Great place to sleep and shower. We had no noise from others in the building.

Great location, especially if you're catching the first ferry, close to the station too. It was perfect for us going on our isle tour. Loved the ability to cast to the TV too.

Clean and most conveniently located before or after taking the ferry to the Isle of Mull.

The shower should have a curtain or a glass window. It would create less steam and not flood the whole bathroom space.

It was very clear at booking that the room was windowless - but this didn't really matter for a short stay before catching the ferry early the next morning. The room was very clean, and well equipped. Arrangements for remote entry were all straightforward.

It might be a personal thing, but I didn't get on very well with the bed. There was also quite a strong 'stale' smell on entering the room, but I didn't notice this after a few minutes.

The bed is built into the room and jammed between a wall and a bulkhead. Anyone over approx 6'4" cannot lie straight out and there is no option to extend feet out of the end of the bed ( which us tall folks are used to doing) . Had a very poor nights sleep.The restaurant above decided to shift their furniture around at 6.30 am waking us both up.

Nice location, cool concept but …

Due to being a no window hotel you rely totally on the AC for fresh air. Which didn’t work well enough. Luckily there is a co2 meter in the room. In the morning after waking up with a big headache we didn’t have to look far for a reason. 2900ppm is way too high a concentration. This is a problem in an otherwise really cool and clean hotel.

The email for access could have been earlier before I arrived. As I had to find new emails while outside the premises that explain how to get in.

Central, very handy for rail station and all amenities. Good value for money for central Oban accommodation. Entry system based on QR code felt secure.

Bed position being on a raised platform and with only one side to get in and out of made it difficult with two people of creaking middle-age mobility. Younger guests would probably love it! Parking options weren’t great.

Clean, well decorated, comfortable bed and a great shower. We were heading for a ferry early next morning and a great location for that. Also very close to restaurants and pubs in Oban.
