Breakfast was good and room was perfectly fine. Nice location.

The room was lovely, it's still fairly warm for the time of year in Scotland and a Shark fan was provided for the room which I thought was a nice touch. Breakfast was great and centrally located in Oban meaning everything needed of an evening was just a few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay again.

It wasn't a problem for us but some people may find the absence of a lift a nuisance. . The parking situation needs to be clearer as we kept having to move our car to meet parking regulations.

Die Lage ist sehr gut. Das Personal ist hilfsbereich.

Das Zimmer 103 ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Kaum Tageslicht. Die Badtüre war nur schwer zu öffnen und sie hat höllisch gequietscht. Die Türe zur Dusche war nicht dicht. Klingt alles sehr kleinlich, war aber die bisher bescheidenste Unterkunft unsrer Schottlandreise.

Gut und zentral gelegen, gutes Frühstück und relativ geräumige Zimmer.

Zimmer im 3. Stock ohne Aufzug, Fenster konnte man nur kippen, Türen sind immer automatisch zugegfallen - das war sehr laut. Roomservice bestand nur aus Betten machen, der Müll wurde nicht geleert, die Tassen nicht gespült. Insgesamt sehr altmodisch und dafür war der Preis nicht angemessen.

The hotel is in a great location, conveniently close to major attractions. I was fortunate to find a nearby parking spot, as it could otherwise be quite challenging. Breakfast was served at the table, which was a nice touch, and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel.

No hotel parking available for guests. You find your own parking spot. It would be helpful to improve the sealing of the doorways. Late at night, a conversation took place right outside my door that lasted around 15 minutes and disturbed my sleep. While this may not be directly the hotel’s fault, better sound insulation or tighter-sealed doors could help minimize noise from the hallway and prevent disruptions for guests..

The hotel ambiance and customer service was exceptional. The bathroom was very clean and the hot shower was relaxing. The beds, sheets and towels were sparkling clean. Its a 10/10 from me.

Location was very ideal and close to many amenities and the harbour and local tourist areas. Room was outstanding very clean and accommodating and the 3 nights we stayed we had our bed and towels made up and tea and coffee replenished daily. Breakfast menu was good and a very lovely selection. Very polite and quite hotel and security and privacy was very good. Some of the staff were approachable and friendly. The gentleman on Thursday evening was very professional and helpful on our arrival and lady on desk Saturday evening was friendly professional and approachable and helpful too. On our check out day the morning staff were polite and hospital.

I don't know where to start but here goes so bear with me, we phoned ahead and asked we could drop our bags off on arrival in Oban and obviously come back later to check-in as the website said the have secure luggage storage but upon arrival when asked if they could store our bags they said they don't have the facilities but pointed us to a corner in the main small dining/Bar room which was like a sauna with the heat, no wonder no one was using it and said you can leave them there if you want it's up to you with a very unwelcoming tone and no smile, so it was just some of our clothes and no valuables so we took our chances, came back later to check-in and greeted with a different young women very sullen and unwelcoming, showed us our room, pulled the curtains to the view of a brick wall about 3 feet away, coat hangers attached to a about a 12 inch rail which was very high, I'm 6ft and I could barely hang my clothes, only one bedside light worked and when you turned the other one in a whole strip light comes on as well very very bright, bathroom door was very very heavy to open and I'm strong and don't forget to hold onto it when it closes or it will make an almighty bang and the extremely bright bathroom light comes on automatically so your instantly made wife awake if you need the toilet in the middle of the night and also whoever is in bed sleeping at the same time with the brightness and no switch to turn it off, 2 beds pushed together even though phoning ahead was told it would not be and the mattresses were solid, asked the sullen receptionist if there was anywhere local to eat and recommended The Lorne just along a bit, suprise suprise they own that too but that's common in the hotel industry doesn't always mean the food ain't great but that's a whole other story, all I can say is don't even go there, now to breakfast we booked for 9 the next morning, we arrived at 08:50 and we're told they were no ready for us and we were shown to two seats at the front door then closed the reception, dining/bar/breakfast room door and locked it then came back at 09:05 and then said we could go in, coffee was brought in 1 coffee bag and there was a very poor selection for breakfast, I took the bacon bap but after waiting came back and said they ran out of baps so they sent someone to the local shop, bacon bap finally came with two slice of tough bacon but at least I got 1 slice of barley browned toast, suppose at least it was something, didn't as if everything was ok and I just knew there was no point in saying anything which I would normally not be shy about, ohh yeah forgot to say the room didn't smell nice either but apart from that the TV worked and so did the broadband, Also great Location 5 mins from the train,bus and ferry terminal, I don't usually bother giving reviews but just to say this is all a 100% genuine review and glad it was only for 1 night

Kein Lift vorhanden Im Zimmer war es 27 Grad und ohne Klimanlage. Obwohl es draussen nur 17 grad waren, kam die frische Luft nicht rein aufgrund der nur leicht kippbaren Fenster.

The hotel was close to city centre. It was clean and comfortable.

Our shower was broken, but the staff were able to help and switch us to a new room. The bathroom was small. The windows were very dirty and needed to be cleaned.

La habitación estaba en una tercera planta sin ascensor y no fuimos avisados. Creo que de este tipo de cosas hay que avisar. La habitación era muy pequeña para el precio.

Solo nos dieron la opción de desayunar a las 7 u 8 de la mañana porque el lugar es muy pequeño, madrugar para tomar desayuno no es agradable cuando estas de vacaciones. No cuenta con ascensor, hay que subir maletas!

Zimmer zur Rückseite extrem dunkel, da genau ein Fels gegenüber ist (ca. 2 Meter entfernt); Housekeeping hat gern verschiedene Dinge vergessen, welche von den Mitarbeitern der Rezeption ausgebügelt werden mussten; Parksituation vorm Hotel schwierig, nur in der Zeit von 18.00 Uhr bis morgens 09.00 Uhr kostenfrei, ansonsten muss man Parkticket ziehen, hier am besten über „PayByPhone“, das geht unkompliziert

I think this was our least favorite hotel during out entire 2+ weeks trip in Scotland - it's just one of these things where you trade convenience for quality - luckily the price is reasonable so it all works out at the end of the day. We booked 2 exactly same type of rooms - some how we got one renowned downstairs, and then a pretty outdated one upstairs - this wasn't a problem for me and my wife to take the one upstairs and let my parents stay downstairs, but it was the size of our room that made it impossible to even unpack - the smallest lay out I have ever dealt with not the room itself but terrible space management ;D, and we stayed here for 2 nights so it was a breath of fresh air after we left. The staff made it pleasant, the breakfast area/bar in the morning/evening was also the check in lobby - all people we have dealt were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very modest compared to any other places we stayed in Scotland and it took a bit of time - actually, this was the only place where you needed to book your slot for breakfast in advance. Parking is a bit unusual situation - the parkin in front of the hotel is NOT FREE... unless you park outside of the paid schedule, but if you plan a day trip to Mull like we did during our stay you will definitely need to pay for the parking... and for that you need to actually go to the website and pay for it - you can't do it a day in advance so it's a bit annoying. All in all, it's one of these hotels where you sacrifice some things for the convenience of being close to the harbor for a day trip on the boat and it worked out but otherwise I would choose a different option with all due respect to this hotel. I think it's not a bad place, but had I known about certain things I would rather pay more and stay somewhere else, not like here was inexpensive in the first place.

Abbiamo soggiornato al The Ranald Hotel durante una visita a Oban La posizione è uno dei punti di forza principali: l’hotel si trova in posizione centrale e comoda, a pochi minuti a piedi dal porto e dalle principali attrazioni della città, rendendolo ideale per chi vuole muoversi facilmente senza auto. La camera era molto pulita e ben tenuta. Anche se gli spazi possono risultare compatti, sono organizzati in modo funzionale e dotati di tutto il necessario per un soggiorno confortevole, inclusi letto comodo, bagno curato e buoni servizi in camera. La pulizia generale era eccellente, con ambienti ordinati e ben mantenuti.

toglierei il sensore delle luci in bagno, prevedendo il classico interruttore. Premesso che l'illuminazione in quell'ambiente è molto "fredda" e intensa, è poco piacevole andare in bagno, soprattutto di notte, e trovarsi sparata in viso tutta quella luce.

The breakfast was nice.

The room was dirty. The location is convenient, but not in a nice area. There was no hair dryer. We had to go to the desk to get one.

Clean, comfy bed with fab bedding, automatic light in bathroom (handy for midnight wees!), great breakfast, very central for Oban and staff were absolutely delightful.

No lift, lots of stairs to top floor and difficult for parking as on street parking close by was full. But not the hotel’s fault I guess.

Room was very small, it was terribly hot in the room. The shower steams up pretty quick and the bathroom door is a fire door. Used my own hand fan all night as the window if opened was facing the street and noisy. No lift and we were in the 3rd floor, having to go up and down with luggage, plus dinner and breakfast. We are a young couple so it was ok for us. Also breakfast felt chaotic as there are limited tables and people have to push through to make way to get stuff from the buffet table. I only stayed for one night so did not mind it. Staff are very good and I guess since it was the last available room i was allocated the smallest one.

Toilet roll holder was broken in my room. Hairdryer didn’t work but had brought my own so no problem. Everything else great!

Lovely, welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them! Location was perfect, only a minute or 2 walk to the heart of Oban. Room was a fantastic size & bathroom was huge! Perfect for us

Nothing, all good. Possibly worth mentioning that breakfast space is quite small so you need to book in at a particular time on arrival. Did not matter to us but if it does to you, maybe call ahead to get whichever slot you need for what you're doing.

Location was great. Staff were absolutely brilliant even made us a breakfast to take away on the day of our tour!
