Het is zeer afgelegen en rustig, maar ze zorgen telkens voor een vlotte transfer met golfkarretje en speedboat. Daarnaast is het familiemaal zeer lekker en zijn ze telkens zeer vriendelijk.

Le calme dans un jardin tropical et un service extra de la part de notre hôte qui est sympa et qui fait tout pour nous rendre le séjour agréable.

Nous avons passé un super moment ! La homestay est magnifique, très vegetalisée, et les alentours sont charmants. Pour les activités : randonnées, vélo (pas de grand trajets mais une petite balade jusqu au port sympa) et ne pas manquer le fish massage ! Ils proposent aussi les actvités nautiques sur la baie. Chilly est un hôte parfait et est très organisé. Bref on a adoré le lieu et on recommande! Ps : nouz etions 5 et les 3 enfants pouvaient facilement dormir ensemble (lits de 2 m de large!).

Wunderschöne Bungalows mitten im Grünen! Alles sehr gemütlich und verwunschen! Der Host war super zuvorkommend und war bei allem sehr hilfsbereit! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Très bien situé dans le petit village de Viet Hai. Les repas sont bons. Le personnel est très gentil et s'est occupé de nous réserver la croisière à Lan Ha et notre transfert à Hanoï.

Chilly was a really nice host, who aided us in planning a day trip from the homestay and communicated clearly. The garden of the homestay was also really pretty and dinner was good. We also liked the communal areas where you could meet other travellers and the hammocks in front of the rooms.

It is really hard to get there since it's inside a national park, so it's either relatively expensive (speedboat) or long (walking 3h) to get there. It's also important to know that basically nothing except the room (and breakfast) is included in the end price and some fees are put on top as well so the final price was - in our taste - a bit too much for what was offered.

Die Unterkunft ist genauso wunderschön wie auf den Fotos. Eher noch schöner. Gleiches gilt für die Umgebung. Kaum ist man aus dem Homestay draußen, kann man auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite Kühe und Wasserbüffel sehen. Als ich da war, sogar einen Babywasserbüffel. Chilly ist der geborene Gastgeber. Er ist freundlich und kümmert sich um jedes Anliegen. Das Familydinner gilt hierbei besonders hervorzuheben. Da man an einem großen Tisch sitzt und, wenn man allein bzw. zu zweit reist, sich das Essen mit anderen Leuten teilt, kommt man automatisch ins Gespräch. Dadurch habe ich viele tolle Leute kennengelernt. Was ich nicht verstehe, ist, dass hier genau dieses Dinner zum Teil kritisiert wird. Es war nie zu wenig. Wir hatten einmal zu dritt und einmal zu viert so viele tolle Gerichte, dass wir alle satt und glücklich waren UND noch etwas übrig blieb. So hatten wir an einem Abend eine riesige Schüssel Reis, Hähnchencurry, gebratenen Tofu mit Tomaten, Schweinehack auf Zitronengrasspießen, gebratenes Gemüse und einen Teller mit Obst. Jede dieser Portionen war 1,5 bis 2 mal so groß wie in einem Restaurant. Wie soll man da nicht satt werden? Und sich über den Preis aufzuregen, finde ich auch lächerlich. Erstens fand ich es, gemessen an Qualität und Menge, nicht teuer. Zweitens ist das Preisniveau im ganzen Ort etwas höher, da der Ort ziemlich abgeschottet und die Anlieferung somit nicht ganz so einfach ist. Der kleine Ort ist umgeben von saftig grün bewachsenen Bergen. Alles wirkt idyllisch. Die Tagestouristen, die den Ort überströmen, nerven zwar etwas, aber am frühen Nachmittag ist der Ort wieder ein verschlafenes Nestchen, den man fast für sich hat. Die Tour in die Lan Ha Bay, die Chilly uns buchte, war eins der absoluten Highlights in meinem Vietnamurlaub. Der Guide war sympathisch und auch so hat alles geklappt. Also bucht unbesorgt direkt im Homestay! Ich werde sicher irgendwann wiederkommen.

The meals were excellent; breakfast as well as evening meal. Nice to share with other guests. The tours were easy for us to book. Journey by ferry, bus and speed-boat through Han Lan bay was great.

There is no boat Tour into Ha Long bay because it is under a different jurisdiction. But Lan Ha bay is less commercial and visual just as stunning.

The location is superb, like you've been dropped in the middle of an Avatar set. Absolutely beautiful scenery and greenery.

The grounds are superb and such a pleasure to just sit and enjoy. Food each night was delicious and a lovely way to get to know other guests. The pho for breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. Chilly the host and all the team were amazing arranging everything so that pick up and drop offs, a boat tour, bike rentals and trekking were easy to navigate. Viet Hai village is simple but charming and the ancient homestead is so interesting.

We liked the location, right next to the national park. The setting is stunning, a nice place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of cat ba.

The quality of the rooms seemed to differ quite a bit; some had windows while others only had shutters (meaning the windows had to stay closed to avoid letting mosquitoes in and cool air out).

The best accomodation in Vietnam. And Chilly is the best partner. Must to see!!!

The food was great, chilly was really friendly and helpful, and the location is beautiful and quiet, exactly as you expect it from the pictures. I’ll definitely come back :)

The rural location is very nice, and the hotel grounds are beautiful.

We didn't experience much of the hospitality referred to in other review. The air-conditioning was a bit temperamental. Normally that would not worry me. But, because it was so hot, it was a bit of a problem.

When we book a room, there was few rooms and you dont know exactly which you will get till arrive. For me window/ light very important. But we get room with small window and dark walls, not cozy. So we ask for another one, but for extra money. The personal with out maners, we was not finished with pack our staff, when they come to room at 10:45 and start cleaning, with out talking. We suppose to leave room at 11. Landry it's another story, they wash our clothes black and white together, so white clothes can go to garbage now. Conversation with owner was by WhatsApp, but all messages delete in 24 hours, so helpful information provided by him, was gone when it's was necessary. Also not so friendly, his answer was always finished like: I see...... As for me strange for communication. Its nice place to stay for short time but not longer. In room also specific smell

Een mooi verblijf op een prachtige locatie. Je waant je echt in de jungle. Mooie kamers in een prachtige tuin. Je geraakt enkel met een bootje, maar dat wordt perfect geregeld door het verblijf.

De locatie is heel bijzonder. Om op het verblijf te geraken moet je al heel wat reizen, maar dat maakt het wel bijzonder. Huisjes mooi ingebed in de tuin. heel gezellig allemaal. Eten 's avonds was top! Ook fijn dat je met de andere gasten samen kan eten. We hebben er heel fijne avonden gehad.

Is eerder allemaal basic, maar dat weet je op voorhand.

Chilly was incredibly helpful in helping us organise our travel to the Viet Hai Village. This was a unique experience in a more rural and relaxed part of Vietnam. We enjoyed delicious food for dinner and breakfast with the other guests. Chilly also organised a great day out in Lan Ha Bay with exploring islands, kayaking, swimming, and visiting fishing village. Highly recommended to anyone trying to get away from the crowds and a quieter part of the area. Thank you Chilly!

The staff are excellent and very helpful.

Upon arrival Chilly personally welcomed us. We were cared for and looked after. He arranged our boat trips and travels from Hanoi all the way to his homestay. He is very organised and helpful and goes the extra mile for his guests. His staff is welcoming and friendly. This was our third leg of our tip to Vietnam and by far our best stay. I would highly recommend this little paradise. Remote, peaceful and absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you Chilly for a great stay, we appreciate you!!

What is not to like? The culture is wonderful and so friendly and we love the Vietnamese people! Everybody is so accomodating and we would have loved to stay longer.

Chilly was a great host. He helped us arrange a bus from Hanoi to the homestay, along with activities during the stay. We did the 4 hour hike through the national park to the homestay which was a great experience. The location of the homestay was beautiful, tranquil and perfect to escape for a couple of days to explore rural Vietnam and the Cat Ba Islands. We did the boat trip around the Cat Ba islands, which included kayaking - would highly recommend! The rooms were comfortable and it was lovely to sit in the evening and eat with the other guests to exchange travel stories. The village itself is very quiet, but there is also a restaurant next door where you can eat. We stayed for 3 nights, and I think this was the perfect amount of time. I would highly recommend!

The only thing that could be improved would be the quality of the breakfast.

Excellent location near National Park and away from crowds. Nothing was too much for our homestay host, Chilly. He arranged all transfers and activities. The hike up to Navy Peak and Frog Pond were fantastic but you need a certain level of fitness and good walking shoes!

Would have liked more comfortable chairs in communal area.

Getting to the place and from it you are a bit limited with options, but it makes it unique

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer ( kostenloses Upgrade- vielen Dank) direkt am Pool. Leider war das Wetter nicht so gut, so dass wir ihn nicht genutzt haben. Die über die Unterkunft gebuchte eintägige Bootstour hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Der Kontakt mit Linda und die organisierte Abholung vom Bus lief super.

Die Preise im Restaurant waren im Landesvergleich recht hoch.

Lovely location, clean rooms, decent room rate, very helpful staff

The price for dinner is simply extortionate. Absolutely basic food for a really hefty price. We had specifically requested a vegan option in advance, which was confirmed but not taken into account. The result was steamed rice with greasy vegetables for 150k. In Cat Ba, you can get really great dishes for a third of the price. We understand that there is a surcharge for the location, but unfortunately, nothing here was right. Ironically, the food the staff is eating next to the guests looked so much better.

The beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside made us feel relaxed and helped us unwind after big days of hiking. The homestay is very close to the start of the navy peak hike. Chilly the host was very responsive and helped organise all our inbound and onbound travel. Would stay again!

Die Reise zur Umterkuft mit dem Speedboot ist bereits ein Erlebnis. Die Wohnbereiche und der Garten sind unglaublich schön angelegt und laden zzm Wohlfühlen ein. Der Service ist unübertroffen. Unser Gastgeber Chilly hat unsere An- und Abreise selbst organisiert und ist auch nach der Abreise noch mit uns in Kontakt geblieben, um sicherzustellen, dass die Transfers funktionieren. Auch das Essen ist ein besonderes Highlight. Es gibt zur jeder Mahlzeit Obst aus dem Garten bzw. aus dem Dorf. Beim Familydinner wurde auf uns als Vegetarier Rücksicht genommen. Pefekte Lage für Wanderungen in den Nationalpark. Insgesamt die beste Unterkunft in der wir je waren. Sollten wir nochmal nach Vietnam reisen, würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder vorbeischauen und diesmal auch länger bleiben.

Location is unique - village, where this homestay is located, is reachable only by boat or 12km hike through the jungle. You have to pay attention, that you will have to pay extra for the boat, so stay expenses might get a bit higher. even though- the experience there is amazing. There is complete silence at the night, fresh air, and gorgeous garden, that surrounds lovely bungalows. Stuff is super helpful - they took care of everything - speed boat to get there, electric car from harbour to their homestay, tours, tips and so on- no delays, no misunderstandings. Everything was great.

It might be a little bit chilly in bungalows, if you are travelling at winter time.

All guests are well taken care of by Chilly and Ha. From meals and service to tour bookings and transportation arrangements, they handle everything wonderfully. Thumbs up to both of them!

Amazing isolated location, beautiful scenery. Chilly was really helpful at arranging transport logistics. He arranged for our luggage to get to park HQ after our hike - very smooth transfer. Family dinner was a great way to meet other travellers (but eating outside in January was very cold!) I liked the honesty bar, we could help ourselves to drinks and snacks whenever and just pay at the end.

Very limited hot water. Staff would come around and turn off the hot water switch when using it, without explaining why - this felt very rude. We never managed to have a shower that remained hot for more than a minute. On the day of checkout cleaning equipment and new towels and sheets were put on our balcony hours before check-out time. This felt like we were rushed to leave and that we couldn’t enjoy relaxing on the balcony any longer. Food was average, and the hygiene standards could certainly be improved.

The place is located at the entrance to the remote village in the national park. The object offers severals bungalows surrounded by garden: really beautiful place with flowers and small pools full of fish. The bungalows are clean and have basic equipment. The manager will help you with transport and arrangement of exploration of Cat Ba (however it may be easier to explore Cat Ba bay from Cat Ba town: more options). There are several trekking routes around: Navy Peak, Ancient House. The place if worth to stay more than 1 night. After evening there are not many tourist left in the village.

Food is not very special. If you have time visit Ancient House for better option.

The bathrooms smelt awful. Hard on the nose. Would highly suggest to take air freshener or smelly candles to cover the smell

It was an amazing experience. It wasn't luxury but it was clean and comfortable and the gardens were incredible. The food wasn't fancy but it was well done and tasty. The staff was hospitable, speaking perfect english, willing to make arrangements for getting there and back.

I would have liked better coffee... it is Vietnam! The shower without walls was a challenge at first but for just a couple of days it was fine. At low tide, getting off the speedboat was scary (being dragged up the wall). The boat tour of the bay was also not deluxe but was super fun and quite spectacular... it was also very inexpensive.

Everything was perfect. Beautiful location, amazing nature. The cabin was great, and the staff were friendly and happy to help with anything. I spent a whole week here and have no regrets. I highly recommend it to people who want to stay in a peaceful place and be surrounded by beautiful nature.

Le jardin de l'établissement est magnifique et très bien entretenu avec beaucoup de belles plantes, des papillons et des arbres fruitiers. Les bungalows sont grands et très confortables et possèdent un chacun un balcon avec un hamac. Le lieu est calme.

Le cadre de l'hôtel est fait pour être reposant mais l'hôte a rendu séjour complètement stressant tout du long. Lorsqu'on qu'on réserve l'hôtel, nous sommes de suite bombardés de messages et de photos sur whatsapp pour nous proposer des activités et nous donner toutes sortes d'informations concernant le séjour. Je peux comprendre que cela puisse être rassurant pour certains voyageurs mais nous souhaitions pour notre part seulement réserver un lieu pour se reposer et par forcément un séjour organisé de A à Z et sans marge de manœuvre possible. C'est malheureusement ce qui s'est passé car l'hôte est très exigeant quant au respect de ses plans de repas et de transports, et il a été sur notre dos tout le séjour qui a pourtant duré 24h seulement. quelques exemples ( la liste n'est pas exhaustive ) : Quand nous sommes arrivés, l'hôte nous a demandé si nous souhaitions manger le soir dans le cadre des repas dis "familiaux" avec les autres voyageurs. Nous avons accepté, sans savoir que l'heure du diner était 18h15, ce qui était très tôt pour nous, d'autant plus que nous souhaitions nous préparer car c'était le soir de noël. L'hôte est venu toquer à notre bungalow à 18h20 pour nous dire de nous dépêcher, et cela de façon assez désagréable. Durant le repas ( du réveillon de noël ! ), il est venu nous voir à 4 reprises pour nous demander comment nous repartions au port le lendemain. Ainsi le diner qui devait être agréable et convivial s'est transformé en une prise de tête organisationnelle entre l'hôte et nous, et ce alors même que j'avais déjà réservé une voiturette électrique ( moins chère que celle qu'il proposait ) de mon côté !!! L'hôte n'a pas apprécié et s'est montré très désagréable et stressant. Il a souhaité nous faire payer la voiturette électrique alors même que je l'avais réservé et payée de mon côté.
