Been going for years but not the last few. Really noticed a change it’s clear some money has been spent since Alfa took over. Our bathroom was looking more modern fresh new carpet corridors painted etc. we always get sea view room worth the extra looking over the pier
As above staff were nice and friendly. Room was clearly well cleaned.
The property is beautiful.
The hotel appears to cater for a certain clientele, we are not quite in that age range but for one night it was all fine!
Room was lovely so clean.the building is amazing.a lot of original features have been kept which add to its character
Breakfast was good. No complaints at all
Parking. Information about offroad parking,eg street names would have been helpful.
It was on the sea front and we parked there
It needed a little tender loving care
We booked a quick one-night getaway at the Hotel de Paris with our 8-year-old autistic son, and it was the smooth, peaceful seaside reset our family needed. Traveling with neurodivergent kids can sometimes be overwhelming, but the hotel's calm atmosphere and unbeatable location made our short trip effortless. Why It Worked So Well for Us Instant Sensory Resets: Being perched directly above Cromer Pier was a game-changer. When our son needed a quiet walk or a break, we were down on the beach listening to the waves in under two minutes—no stressful car rides or long walks needed. Wonderfully Patient Staff: The team was warm and understanding from the moment we checked in. Mealtime felt low-pressure, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive, which made us feel completely at ease. Soothing Room & Views: We booked a room and ended up with a sea view, and it provided a perfect, grounding space. Watching the tide turn from the window was incredibly calming for our son after a day of taking in new sights. Low-Friction 24 Hours: Because the beach, pier, and local shops are right on your doorstep, we managed to cram in fish and chips, pier walks, and arcade fun without feeling rushed or overstimulated. Even for just a single night, the Hotel de Paris gave us a comfortable, secure, and truly memorable family escape. We left feeling recharged and would recommend it to any family looking for a welcoming coastal stay.
We really enjoyed our stay, but stronger Wi-Fi coverage across the premises would make a big difference. Like most people today, having a stable internet connection is key for us. With a network boost, this place would be absolute perfection!
Spectacular view from the window
The internet was useless
Very good location
Squeaking sound from the floor
First room3 i got at back felt like a store room depressing changed to room 11 and was so much happier 😊
First room no view at all
Mid/late evening ballroom noise from the floors below
The views from the room. Decor in the room. New carpet. Clean bathroom
The property was ok, it was the lack of ambience in the dining room that made us feel uncomfortable. Audible complaints from other guests at breakfast. We opted to have an evening meal, but the was no table service and by the time I had been to the bar to buy wine my main course had been left on the table and was going cold. Also as soon as I put my last mouthful in my mouth the plate was whisked away from under my nose. The meal was not the enjoyable relaxing occasion we’d hoped for but more like a refueling stop.
A beautiful building welcoming and full of charm
Nothing
Friendly staff
Lik d the location
Location, location, location - stunning views from every window (unfortunately we booked last minute so we missed out on a sea facing room) Nice large dining room and I enjoyed the bingo! Breakfast was basic but nice and well organised.
Rooms are a little basic and old fashioned.
Beautiful old building. Very good views
Lack of parking and difficult to get to the hotel by car. Even the satnav was confused. Directions would be helpful
The hotel was booked because of its close proximity to the pier
Our twin room was on the ground floor. It was a single bedroom size, but they had squeezed two single beds into the room to make it a twin. Room far too small to be used as a twin room. Very noisy room as the window opened onto the back streets. People walking past the window all night talking and shouting. No privacy so had to keep curtains closed and window closed because of the noise, even though we were warm. Could not have stayed more than one night in such a cramped room, not enough space for two people. The room was extremely overpriced at £156.00 a night, definitely not worth the money. The hotel has seen its best days, its tired and windows are dirty. Parking is difficult as limited spaces and there is nowhere else to park. Would not stay again, the Hotel is far too expensive for what it is.
Perfect location, fantastic sea views, large and clean room
Bar could be open later
Location epic. Building stunning.
The room was clean and comfortable but not luxurious in any way. There was a lift so moving luggage was easy. Excellent location, overlooking the sea, and right on top of pubs, restaurants, etc. Although we booked breakfast we didn't manage to get there so can't comment on choice, etc. Free parking in front of the hotel was useful as we didn't use the car while we stayed at the hotel.
Location and value for money, very good breakfast
Bathroom a little tired in need of an upgrade
The staff were brilliant, very personable and friendly. Our room with a sea view was exactly what we wanted for our mini escape and was absolutely huge. The location was also perfect being right in the center of Cromer on the sea front. Everything was very clean and tidy and there were lots of options for breakfast which was worth the money. The hotel offers entertainment each evening which we thought was a great touch,.and we joined in with the evening's bingo which was a lot of fun.
We felt that the hotel may be a bit understaffed for the number of guests they have. This did not affect service but it was clear that 2 waiting staff for the 1 hour breakfast window with a pretty much full house ran them off their feet which isn't always nice to see. They handled it brilliantly and professionally though. We were a bit sad that a lot of the character has been stripped away from the inside of the property, it's such a beautiful building that the more modernised bathrooms etc clash with it a bit,.but I know this is a very personal preference !
Perfect location and lovely staff.
Breakfast could have been better, not very hot but good value for money.
Location. Great staff. Big clean room
Bit dated and bit smelly. Caters for elderly. Lack of parking

The hotel SHOULD NOT SELL ANY SPARE ROOMS
BE WARNED THE HOTEL OWN THE TRAVEL COMOSNY THAT BRING HOARDS OF CISCH TRIPS IN. They should not be selling the odd left room at double the price! Did not get breakfast we paid for
Staff were friendly, the bed was comfy, and the view and location were great. We wanted a night at the seaside and it is in a perfect position.
I didn't enjoy the cobwebs I had to clean from the shower! They were short staffed, and the girls who were serving breakfast were friendly, apologetic, and doing their best, but the wait was really long. The one man who seemed to be in charge could have stepped in and helped but, instead, helped himself to a juice, said ' they'll be with you in a minute' and strolled off, leaving us waiting to be seated. The hotel is full of faded elegance and must have been beautiful once, but the rooms are very tired now and the bathroom was really unappealing.
Booked this for a photography trip. So Location was perfect. Right on the front yards from the pier. I arrived for lunch and did sunset and also got up for sunrise, so room was just a simple single. Good value and the bonus was free parking right outside the hotel.
Can be busy with Coach parties so need to be on the ball at meal times.
Breakfast
There was nothing I didn’t like
Close to all amenities
Food of average quality. Salad rather disappointing. Unusually refused alternative chefs special, although most Alfa hotels have a few portions for SD arrivals on the day! Decor needs attention in some areas.
Great location, lovely staff, nice and clean and the bed was comfy
Limited parking No complimentary drinking water in the room
Lovely location looking out to sea. Very limited parking. Hotel was lovely and clean, breakfast ok, table service, and cooked to order.
Room was very hot, window opened slightly, due to safety. Light outside bedroom quite bright, but when the curtains were pulled there was no air. Be great if air-conditioned could be installed. To be honest, lovely hotel for older people.
Great location. Sea view from our room.
The seating for breakfast was a little chaotic. We were told we had to sit at a specific table, even though we explained it wasn't ideal as the sun was blazing through the window, making it very uncomfortable. I had to eat my breakfast with sunglasses on.
Very good mainly for superb location and friendly staff
Dated, but expected. Was impossible to sleep in room due to noise
Noise in room.
Lovely old building with character, exceptionally friendly staff on reception and in dining room, fair price for a single room and breakfast was nice (when it eventually arrived)
Breakfast service was poor: 8-9am is too early & restrictive for a Sunday (I’m on holiday not going to work), no explanation of how breakfast work so I sat at the wrong table, took ages to place an order (despite plenty of staff), food took a long time to arrive, order was incorrect and I wasn’t given a cup for tea, and loads of uncleared dirty tables made it an unpleasant experience. Room was fine, comfortable if quite dated. Worth getting a sea view although windows could do with a clean. Asked for a bath and none available so had to have a shower, which was disappointing.
Excellent location amazing architecture.
Nothing.
Location is perfect for mooching around the town and seafront. Parking was available right outside. Very friendly and helpful staff when we checked in.
Room was at back of building with no view at all. At 9.30am we had drilling and hammering the other side of the wall. I think this may have come from a neighbouring property that is joined to the back of the hotel but it wasn't great. The room was okay but a little disappointing for the price.
Service and breakfast was amazing

Wonderful and will be returning.
Everything
The location was perfect, the staff were lovely and helpful.
I neglected to mention my mobility problems so I did not like the stairs.
Well situated
Our room. If booking.com had explained the room was 7ft wide all windows had frosted glass and difficult to open then I realised why. Then early in the morning you hear the pub bins being emptied of empty bottles. And beer barrels also being moved around. We sat out in reception area as it was to claustrophobic in the room. And we had no view just a wall I don’t blame Hotel de Paris I blame booking.com for putting us in this room that looks into their “ loading bay “
What a fabulous little traditional hotel, spotlessly clean, large rooms with amazing pier views! Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room request allocated with very large room overlooking the pier with the seating area to watch the sunset and sunrise. Bathroom exceptionally clean and beds extremely comfy. Breakfast options great, as plenty of options even as a vegan which is so rare. Waiter could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Arrived early to secure parking in-front of hotel. Tea and coffee available in room with kettle and shower was super hot with complimentary toiletries. Honestly can not fault anything for the price and central location. Lift to all floors also .Thank you!
Absolutely nothing.. everything was prefect !!
Beautiful building, great location, we had room with a sea view, staff were helpful and friendly
Bathroom tired, needs updating. Room could also do with an update and balcony needs urgent cleansing of pigeon droppings!
Staff where excellent and always cheerful
Nothing
Room was above a noisy service area.
The staff were friendly, approachable and professional service. The hotel is a well maintained old fashioned hotel like a step back in time and the location spot on
I wasn't expecting it to be like a convalescent home when the singer was on i danced and felt very uncomfortable. The hotel had an underlying smell of a nursing home
Breakfast very good Staff professional service and all staff polite friendly and kind Good at there job from house keeping to all areas
Outside painting Could put visters off Till walk inside 🙂 Often front is the first port of call
We booked a twin room. (Room 35) Theres a small car park at front. Maybe 8 cars? First come, first served. We were lucky enough to get a room with a Seaview. The room was clean and welcoming. With a kettle and complimentary tea & coffee. (Wouldve been even nicer to have a biscuit! Take your own!) And a hair dryer. Soap in the bathroom and shower. Standard large bath towel and hand towel each. Windows were sash windows which some may not enjoy but it is a very old building. 2 chairs in front of window to enjoy the beautiful view. There is a small 4 person lift to all floors but use the grand stair case if you're able. The building was warm and very interesting. Stain glass windows in the hallways and dining room. Each window seemed to depict a local historic building. Breakfast was busy but staff remained attentive and calm. Your waiter/waitress took your order for hot food and you were able to help yourself to Cereals, fruit, yoghurt, porridge etc We each had the large vegetarian breakfast: 2 sausages (bubble and squeak style) egg, beans, tomato, mushroom AND fried bread! Ask for toast, as it didn't come with it, despite listing it on the menu. The restaurant windows look out over the north Sea and Cromer Pier but very few window seats. Entertainment every evening of bingo then a musician in the bar area. Bar closes at 11pm. Amazing value for money. Staff were welcoming, friendly and polite.
The heating made a loud ticking noise when activated so it did wake us in the morning not knowing what the noise was but if we'd stayed another night it would've been familiar. Breakfast was VERY busy. Served between 8-9. I recommend arriving early.
Breakfast was thoughtful and very enjoyable.
The car park needs serious attention. A hotel of this standing should have a decent car park.
Fabulous old property, could probably do with a lick of paint but it was spotlessly clean, the staff were great (especially the really helpful woman on the desk), the bed was comfortable, shower was good
Sorting takeaway breakfast was a palaver but excellent staff sorted it Staff smoking out the front of the doorway didn’t give a great impression
Great location really friendly staff and a really tasty breakfast
If I mentioned anything it would be nitpicking which is not necessary
Location brilliant. Staff excellent.
Nothing.
Classic Victorian seaside hotel. Well renovated with iconic views if the coast and pier
Hotel caters 95% of its occupancy to ciach tours so is busy… making breakfast a bit of a scrum. Plenty of lovely cafes nearby for a more leisurely breakfast,
The hotel is central and fabulous views of the pier
It’s very dated inside and a bit tacky. Looks like a care home furniture scattered about, didn’t like we couldn’t sit next to a window for breakfast even though tables were empty, because the regulars would be cross!
Location was brilliant and a lovely sea view.
Not a lot of parking so it’s first come. Breakfast could be better. Not a lot of buffet selection.
Room
Great Location, the room was clean, warm and comfy, it had everything we needed. Tasty breakfast
Brilliant location, very clean spacious room nice staff
Only problem was parking
The location of this beautiful hotel is perfect to be central in Cromer with everything you need within a short walking distance. Victoria greeted us at Reception and was so patient and friendly with my many questions, excellent customer service. The room was spacious and as described with a great shower and we had a really comfy bed. We didn't get up in time for breakfast so I can't comment on the food.
The location, staff, breakfast were all very good.
The price was higher than expected.
Friendly staff and large comfortable room with a view overlooking the pier
Could have done with more information about dining. I didn't realise that the hotel caters mainly for the coach holiday market and the menu was somewhat restricted however what was on offer was ok.
It satisfied the need for break that we needed N
Great staff and service. The breakfast was average but the staff made the experience for me. Friendly, chatty and polite.
I did not book a quiet room, if given the option I would have booked a sea view. Room was too warm and the windows did not open enough because of a drainage pipe that stopped it.
Lovely old building, fabulous stained glass windows, beautiful high dining room ceiling, fabulous stairs and handrails, high fireplaces, nice reception area, great original building, food, entertainment, staff were great.
Didn’t like our room 11, seemed like not part of the original building, as we were on the side and not at the front of the building which we hoped to be, although we had a small view of the Pier, we were disappointed with the room.
Breakfast
Bath in room
Very good breakfast and excellent service
Parking was OK but would be problematic later in year
Position and architecture
No towel bath mat
Excellent breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff.
Great location, nice breakfast, friendly staff.
The room was dated, and got very hot (in February) There was a fan but I would imagine air con would definitely improve it. Especially in summer
All staff were lovely and very helpful. Beautiful building with stained glass that looked like it was being well looked after. Decent-sized bathroom & powerful, hot shower.
Old sash windows meant a chilly draught and all noise from the street, including Saturday night revelry from the various pubs etc around us, could not be shut out in any way. Poor night's sleep because of the noise & draught, but fully appreciate the noise is part of the hotel's location & windows may be of historical importance so restricted in terms of what could be done to reduce the outside getting in!
registration
Very comfortable bed, freshly decorated, clean carpet , plenty of tea , a fan for the room etc Excellent staff ,breakfast & views. Clean facilities. Very good location. We would stay again.
I would have liked a blind at the bathroom window so people couldn’t see in . Room 30 Noise at 6am from bottles outside
The building and location are amazing! Lovey staff who were very friendly and accommodating. Room was basic but very clean with a beautiful view of the sea and pier. Great parking right in front of the hotel.
The windows are thin so quite noisy when people pass during the night being loud. Floor was a bit creaky when trying to creep around with a sleeping baby. Shower was only mildly warm, but not a problem as it was warm out. Might be an issue in the winter months. Otherwise, lovely! We’ll be back!
