Aloha Hoi An Homestay

The family is super nice and incredibly helpful in all matters. If you ever need any help with anything, you can count on them. They are happy to help you with e.g. laundry service, booking tours etc. but at the same time, they are 100% honest and will tell you exactly the upsides and downsides of all options and give their honest advice. Rooms are spacious, very beautiful, very clean, great AC, good mix of modern and rustic - you'll feel right at home. The pictures don't reflect the current state, our room was recently modernized (e.g. bathroom) and looks much better in reality. The location is perfect right at the start of Old Town walking street. Still it's not noisy. Couldn't be better located. The food is great, the breakfast is absolutely extraordinary, easily the best one we had in Vietnam by far. The restaurant is also good and a great option if you just need a break and you're hungry. Again, I have to say, the family and staff are just super nice.

Steep stairs not good for people with mobility issues.

Everything was great! The location is perfect, everything is within walking distance. The style of the guesthouse and the room itself creates a sense of home-like comfort. There is also an on-site restaurant serving excellent local cuisine. The guesthouse owner and his team were always available and also helped arrange taxis at a good price. It's was a great stay. Thank you! Recommended 10/10.

Excellent location. Aloha is in the middle of a nice street, making it a short walk from the entrance to the old town on one end (where you would get picked up and dropped off if you were getting a ride) and the old dragon gate on the other, which is basically the start of the busiest area. This makes it convenient, but not quite in the midst of chaos, which is nice, because we discovered that the clubs along the river are LOUD at night. The people running the homestay couldn't be nicer. There are only a few rooms and we had booked two of them, so after showing us around it basically felt like it was ours. There were bikes to use to get to the beach and around town, two wooden jacuzzi tubs of cold water to cool down in in the courtyard, beautiful cool rooms to relax in, and I cannot rave enough about the food. Their restaurant makes some of the best food we have had in two weeks in Vietnam. We didn't really want to eat anywhere else. To arrive and leave, Think (sp?) arranged taxis for us both ways at very good prices and just included it in our bill, so we didn't have to worry about using the Grab app or paying a driver in cash. Everything about this stay was beyond our expectations. We loved it.

This hotel was great! Just at the entrance of old town Hoi An, very small and cozy, and just far enough from the river madness to be able to people watch and shop easily without the club noise at night. The room was lovely, comfortable and nice lighting. The staff was very helpful and kind. They provided us with bikes, they had outdoor cold water jacuzzis that were a blessing in the summer heat. And the restaurant was great! It became my favorite place to eat in Hoi An actually and their ice cream was off the hook! I was eating it 3 times a day by the time we left. 10/10 would recommend!

The room has very small mirror and no closet

The breakfast was great, mixed fruit eggs, toast, juice and coffee, pancakes as well.. The food in this homestay is amazing... We checked out on a Sunday which was a national holiday, we couldn't find any other hotels after looking for 4 hours and being scammed twice by airbnb, at the last moment, the hotel owner stepped in and let us stay in his room whilst he stayed at his parents, he went totally above and beyond and we are forever in debt to you, thank you so much!

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at Aloha in Hoi An. It’s located within Hoi An Ancient Town, which means it isn’t affected by traffic or car noise, as cars aren’t permitted in the old town. Once the day visitors retreat, the area becomes wonderfully peaceful. It’s also only a short stroll from the 18th-century Japanese Bridge (Chùa Cầu) and the riverfront. Sure, you can find cheaper accommodation options, but they won’t be in the Ancient Town and they’re unlikely to feel as homely. As for Aloha Homestay itself, it’s beautifully presented — clean, charming, and full of character. The air conditioning is a godsend, particularly on those hot and humid days, providing a welcome refuge from the midday heat. It’s the sort of place where you can slow down and enjoy life at your own pace. The rooms don’t have TVs, but there is a communal lounge if you’re desperate, although we rarely saw anyone using it. The owner, Thinh, along with his family and small team, are absolutely lovely. They made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for throughout our stay. If you’re unsure where to eat, the onsite restaurant is fantastic. Sometimes it becomes tiring deciding where to go for dinner — searching Google, checking reviews, and weighing up options. Thankfully, Thinh and his family offer a wonderful selection of meals and a great opportunity to try local cuisine. We ate there two of the three nights we stayed and would wholeheartedly recommend it. I can’t speak highly enough of our time here — not only because of the location, accommodation, food, and beverages, but also because of the warmth and care shown by Thinh and his team. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

Felt like a home away from home, bed so comfortable, shared living areas very welcoming, whole place smelled incredible. Thinh was very helpful booking taxis and suggesting activities. Bikes available were very handy for getting around. Best food in Hoi An, coffee 10/10, location 10/10. Can’t thank Thinh and his family more for a great stay. Will recommend to any friends heading to Hoi An.

We loved that the property was in the middle of Ancient Town, the location could not have been better. We also loved the the family that ran the homestay, they were obliging and really fantastic.

Nous pouvons utiliser les équipements et vélos librement, l'ambiance est chaleureuse. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux, il y a un service de laverie pour les vêtements. C'est joli, bien décoré, la chambre est conforme aux photos, très calme. C'est très bien situé. Nous avons énormément apprécié notre séjour ici et recommandons à 100%.

Host is erg behulpzaam en dan gelukkig ook op een authentieke wijze. Goede kamer. Lekker bed en prima airco. Geen kaart voor elektriciteit zodat je gewoonq terug komt in een lekkere koele kamer. Je kunt fietsen gratis gebruiken om Hoi An en de omgeving te verkennen. Ontbijt is goed en ook gezonde opties!

La gentilezza dei proprietari, ci hanno aiutato per ogni nostra richiesta, trasporti, indicazioni per la visita della città, il servizio lavanderia, etc. La posizione della struttura proprio all’inizio dell’area pedonale, lontana dalla confusione, a due passi dal ponte giapponese, la cucina buonissima, la pulizia della camera, la conduzione familiare, il bar è molto fornito e hanno persino il gelato sfuso. Grazie Thinh siamo stati benissimo e torneremo sicuramente.

The whole family were super friendly and welcoming. Brilliant, authentic location in the heart of Ancient Town. Delicious food. Thinh, the homestay owner, was so very helpful and kind to me, especially when I became ill. He even drove me to the hospital.

The host is the best in the world. He will do absolutely anything to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. He organised everything, and he is always super keen to help in anything. The property is amazing, very charming and full of character in colonial style, very clean. Beds are the best I have ever slept in. Sobe so v tradicionalni hiši v mirnejšem delu centra mesta. Oprema je okusno izbrana, nudi vse udobje, ki smo ga potrebovali. Sobe so čiste, postelje udobne, noči mirne, klima dobro deluje in če upoštevate navodila lastnika, nimate težav s komarji. V sprednjem delu hiše je restavracija, kjer postrežejo odličen zajtrk, hrana je tudi sicer zelo okusna. Zunanje mize so odlične za opazovanje dogajanja v mestu. Gostišče je v družinski lasti, lastnik nam je zelo pomagal pri organizaciji dnevnih aktivnosti, pri njih smo se počutili zelo domače. Hvala!

A quiet, clean and comfortable room and the staff are so accommodating and kind - all for a very reasonable price. We have been staying in some nice hotels while in Vietnam but this is easily the most comfortable bed we have slept in the entire time. The restaurant attached is also fantastic. I highly recommend the Aloha Homestay, and would stay here again on my next visit to Hoi An

Die tolle Lage und dennoch relativ ruhig. Die Familie ist sehr herzlich und hilft bei allen Fragen und weiteren Transfer. Das Essen und Frühstück ist top. Es gibt sogar einen Hausrabatt.

Das Bad ist einfach aber es ist alles da was man braucht. Für den Preis gibt es nichts zu beanstanden.

On the edge of Old Town on a walking street, tucked away off the street so nice and quiet while still being in the centre of all the busyness. The family hosting us were beautiful, helpful and so welcoming. The room is quite large with picture windows framed by bougainvillea opening onto rooftops and a courtyard. The bed was so comfortable. Shower is pretty good. Breakfast was included and a delicious variety of Vietnamese dishes available. We didn’t try the western options. Coffee was also good. Thinh also taught us how to cook Pho. Free bicycles to use which are great for trips to the rice fields and the beach. We loved staying with Thinh, Ngah and their family and will return.

It is on the first floor so there are stairs to navigate if mobility is an issue.

Mr. Thinh och hans fru samt resten av personalen var otroliga och mycket hjälpsamma. Vi fick ett fantastiskt bemötande och kände oss hemma från sekunden vi mötte dem. Frukosten och maten var också toppen. Hela stället var mysigt med svalkande jacuzzi och spännande bastu. Placeringen är också riktigt bra, mycket central men nära nog till utkanten att det är enkelt att få en grab eller taxi då större delen av Hoi An är gågator. Kan inte annat än rekomendera. Vi hoppas vi kan komma tillbaka en dag.

Loved the fact this is a multi generational ancient family home. So authentic, cosy and owners are so helfpful friendly and welcoming. The best part....you step outside and youre in the ancient town ready to explore and shop and eat.

The most comfortable homely homestay we have ever been to. Staff are amazing, extremely friendly and responsive. Even offered to take us to and show us around the local market while they do the shopping for the restaurant which is attached. The location is ideal in the pedestrian only section of the old town. Bonus the homestay smells like lemon grass. We extended a night because it was that special!

Diese Unterkunft hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Das Deluxe Zimmer ist schön eingerichtet, das Bett sehr gemütlich. Die Bettwäsche und die Handtücher waren sehr frisch. Im Bad und auf dem Zimmer hat es sogar frisch gerochen. Das Zimmer entspricht den Bildern - die Atmosphäre des Raums ist auf den Bildern gut eingefangen. Die Gastfamilie ist sehr freundlich und überaus hilfsbereit. Die Location ist einfach perfekt, weil die Altstadt direkt vor der Tür ist. Das dazugehörige Café im Erdgeschoss ist wirklich bequem. Das Frühstück war lecker und gut für Langschläfer geeignet. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft perfekt. Ich hätte hier für immer bleiben können.

The house is very beautiful and the staff was absolutely amazing, it was our best stay in Vietnam! They helped us with everything and looked out for us in the most kind way!! The room is very clean with a warm atmosphere, from the window you see the neighbor building which is a temple, basically you are in the middle of history. Also, the house has only 3 guest rooms and its quite. We totally recommend it!

Everything was perfect. The room was spacious enough and the bed was very comfortable; we slept extremely well. The food was amazing — no matter how much I ate, I never seemed to get enough. As hotel guests, we received a 10% discount on restaurant expenses, which was a nice bonus. We loved everything.

We stayed for 3 nights here. The property is exactly how it’s shown in the picture. Room was clean. It’s situated conveniently in the old quarters. Easy to locate. Every attraction in the old quarters is just walking distance. The hosts are extremely good-natured and do everything possible to make your stay feel comfortable. They assisted us with everything including day trips. The food here is amazing that you wouldn’t want to try any other place.

What can I say! This was a fantastic stay right from the start. They handled everything for us from the airport pickup in da Nang to arranging a couple of outings. The two bedroom family suite was nicely divided with the washroom in the middle. Comfortable beds and a decent breakfast in the mornings. Including multiple drinks and snacks. They went all out for us with an anniversary welcome surprise and the owner was always attentive to the details. We liked that we could walk everywhere and people watch from the cafe seating that faced right on to the pedestrian area.

Highly recommend the Aloha Homestay if you want to enhance your stay in the ancient city. The owner, his wife and staff looked after me brilliantly every step and the historic accom was unique and wonderful.

What a wonderful place to stay! Excellent location just inside the Old Quarter, helpful, attentive hosts, great coffee and breakfasts, comfortable, quiet rooms, beautiful decor, well-priced airport pickup/dropoff... We honestly couldn't fault Aloha Homestay and would certainly stay here again and recommend it to friends and family!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the old town at the Aloha Home Stay. The location was perfect for us since it was on the main walking street. Being a part of a restaurant the food was amazing. We had both breakfast and dinners at Aloha because we had no desire to eat anywhere else the food was that good! The atmosphere was amazing too with a temple next door and lantern shops across the street. The room we stayed in was at the back of the property. It was well laid out and very comfortable. We did the regular tourist activities while there and felt like Aloha was the perfect place to return to each day. We can't say enough good about the owners and the staff. We felt so welcomed and included in life in Hoi An. It's a close walk to all the attractions and a very peaceful place to stay. Aloha is a place we would not hesitate to return and have no problem giving it our full endorsement. We really felt cared for there!

This is a perfect place to stay in Hoian if you want to explore old town by foot and feel truly at home! The breakfast is a feast you can order whatever you want from the menu a selection of eggs, best pho with vegetables I’ve had in Vietnam, pancakes and freshly made smoothies! On the top of it all I have to mention a hairdryer in the room. I mean it’s like a Dyson quality. For those who know they know what o mean. Hats down to whoever came up with this idea. Thịnh and his family are the best.

The family were gorgeous.. so kind and hard working. The location is great- in the old quarter but set back off the street. We ate there each night because the food was so good.

The property was a beautiful old authentic Hoi An building situated in the old town which meant it was close to walk and was also just on the border so easy to get taxi. We had the 2 bedroom with a shared bathroom between which was excellent for my son and I. The owners are amazing as are the staff. Breakfasts are excellent and I just couldn’t go past the banana pancake …. Best I have EVER tasted. We had dinner there 2 nights and it was lovely. Had to drag ourselves away to go somewhere else the last night. Will definitely be back here as we have stayed in Hoi An many times. Aloha Hoi An Homestay will definitely be our number 1 choice from now.

הזוג שמנהל את המקום היו ממש מקסימים. הסיעו אותנו בבוקר שעזבנו לתחנת אוטובוס על האופנועים ואפילו קמו להכין לנו ארוחת בוקר ב6:30! חדר ממש יפה ונקי, מעט קטן ממה שחשבנו, אך עדיין נעים. המיקום מעולה ונוח תודה רבה

立地と無料の朝食が最高でした。メニューから朝食と飲み物を頼む形で、正直観光街の店よりもここの朝食で食べたベトナム料理が一番美味しかったです。オーナーさんもおすすめの場所を沢山教えてくださったり、ツアー予約（大体10%オフになる）を手伝ってくださったので助かりました。

元々予約していた部屋と違うところに初日と翌日は泊まったので、そこだけ面食らいました。他は特にないです。本当にホームステイという感じで、オーナーのお子さんが居間で宿題をやっていたりと、のどかでした。

This wonderful home is right in the heart of Old Town...this is a pedestrian only street and it's 3-5 minutes from the river...this is were you wanna be...great hosts. Kind,Caring ,Nice people.

La posizione all'inizio della zona pedonale di Hoi An è molto comoda per visitare la città. La colazione è discreta. Il proprietario è stato molto collaborativo e professionale: mi ha aiutata a prenotare alcune belle escursioni (Hue e My Son) permettendomi di fare colazione molto presto la mattina e mi ha regalato una corsa in taxi

Se in Vietnam pago una stanza 52 euro (costo superiore alla media) mi aspetto come minimo la pulizia giornaliera della stanza invece nessuno ha provveduto in 3 giorni di permanenza. La camera - piccola e poco insonorizzata perché si sentivano tutti i rumori interni come voci o passi - non vale il costo.

Thinhさんの家族経営のhomestay。みなさん、あたたかく迎えてくださいました。となりの棟には奥さんとThinhさんがシェフをされているレストランがあります。74歳の母は、「すべてがおいしい！食べ物も飲み物も。どれを選んでも口に合う！他のレストランに行けない」と感動していました。実際、５日滞在して5日とも朝も夜もALOHAでご飯をいただきました。食材、味付け、美味しいだけでなく、深みがあり優しさを味わいました。部屋や施設は、まるでベトナムの親戚の家に来ているような感覚になりました。建物、木、椅子、窓、櫛、ランタン、、、すべてにこだわりとぬくもりを感じました。そしてなにより、Thinhさん、奥さん、ご家族の笑顔とおもてなしに心があたたかくなりました。お世話になったこと忘れません。 Thinhさんご家族のおかげで、ベトナムの旅が最高のものになりました。

A wonderful little homestay which allows one tranquility after the hustle and bustle of Old Town. Im so glad I chose to stay here and it was exactly what I needed. Comfortable room with comfortable bed and good AC. The owners are so warm and welcoming and the food is superb. I can highly recommend and will return for sure.

Everything was great!

A lovely family run little guesthouse with tasteful decoration and ”old world charm”. The atmosphere is calm and friendly and the location is perfect at the quiet end of a pedestrian area. The family is generous and the food in the little restaurant is very good. Best capuccino so far in Vietnam!

It is such a beautiful home. We stayed 4 nights in the family room which has two lovely rooms connected by a washroom and toilet. Every detail … From the best pillows to the amazing smell of lemongrass wafting through the house. The house is packed with charm and the owners couldn’t have done more to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic.. my husband says it’s the best omelette he’s ever had. We also stayed for dinner one night and it was delicious. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in hoi an.

Very comfortable and friendly place to stay

The team at Aloha Hoi An Homestay were absolutely lovely and wonderful throughout our stay, and made us to feel at home throughout. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, from the moment we arrived, to our (many) meals at the homestay, to our check-out experience. If I were coming back to Hoi An I wouldn't look to stay anywhere else.

Aloha Homestay was wonderful!!! Perfect location - walking distance from all the things we wanted to do and directly on the cute street blocked off from traffic. The food was surprisingly delicious and we had some of our favorite meals here. The staff was helpful, kind, and accommodating at every turn - they even started breakfast early to help our schedule. The room was lovely and the bed super comfortable. They arranged a taxi for me from the airport which was super easy. I would stay here again and again, you couldn't ask for a better home base in Hoi An!

Nothing - it was truly wonderful

Staying here was one of the absolute highlights of our whole Vietnamese experience. Set just inside the old quarter, its the most beautiful old building - golden yellow with terracotta roof tiles, wooden shutters and huge palms and fruit trees growing in the courtyard. It is a family owned and run 'homestay' and such a treat to be living with them for a week. (NB. It only has a few rooms for guests) and it has a beautiful restaurant out the front Breakfast was included - I never got tired of freshly pressed OJ with slices of ginger root, spicy chicken and rice (swoon) but there was a whole menu to choose from. There are loaner bikes which were great for a fast zip thru the town to get to the tailors for another suit fitting. Only a block away from the Japanese covered bridge and close to the waterfront where the place comes alive every night with bars, restaurants, boats and coloured lanterns

It was perfect. I would go back to Hoi An in a heartbeat (PS. We Grab biked over to the beach one afternoon to check it out and didnt like it - kinda dirty, rough - so glad we decided to stay the whole week in the old town)

Feels like home! In the core of Hoi An a traditional family house is converted to offer tourist accommodation. Simplicity and quality meet each other. The host and his family are hearty and genuine. There is nothing more to ask, just enjoy it!

The place is lovely, and you can realy feel the authentic essence of the city here. The lanterns and the whole home has a very good atmosphere. The food in the restaurant is amazing, we had our best meals here! But the host is even better! He helped us organize our programs, got us tickets, car etc. even in the big trafic of April 30. We talked with him about various things, he really loves people, and truly wants to help you, and make you fall in love with Hoi An. I absolutely recomend staying and eating here

The owner couple went out of their way to see that I didnt get lost and that I got on the right tour bus. They handled all my interests perfectly!!

It was an amazing stay. The location is right in the middle of the old town. It was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back!

Fantastic homestay and incredible location. The owner and family were so helpful with booking tours around the area. Breakfast was also amazing. Couldn’t recommend enough!

The place is very comfortable and cozy and has a perfect location inside the Old Town. The couple who own it are super friendly and welcoming. They also run the restaurant next door which serves great food, and where you have your breakfast, you can sit outside with a view of the Old Town main street. The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable. They provide laundry service, with laundry ready the following day, and you can borrow one of their bicycles to ride around town. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Hoi An.

This is a lovely Homestay. I was made very welcome from start to finish. I used the free bicycle every day, which really helped. Food was amazing. If I ever return to Hoi An, without a doubt I would stay at Aloha. A big Thank You to everyone.

A beautiful homestead. Thinh the guy who owns it and his wife are such wonderful welcoming people. He really cares, helps and spends time with his clients. The free drink on arrival, the food, the beautifully kept rooms are just outstanding.

Nothing, everything is perfect.

This property was in such a fantastic location right at the start of old ancient town - it was such a beautiful oasis tucked behind a restaurant that made amazing Vietnamese food! The whole experience was so beautiful and the host family was so accommodating, friendly, welcoming and over all made this experience a 10/10! I can not recommend this property more it really topped off our entire trip and just the overall environment and beautiful nature of the host family was top tier. We will definitely be back again! Also the coffee in the restaurant was absolutely beautiful!!!

Nothing to not like

The owner, the staff, the restaurant, the location, and everything else were incredible. Before my booking, I thought the high reviews were maybe going to be a little exaggerated… I was wrong. I rarely come back to a country a second time, but because of this homestay and its people, I’m probably gonna have each of my two kids come with new spouses and stay here later this year as wedding presents. Restaurant was great and during four days in Hoi An, we had every meal here but one. Owner had exceptional recommendations for things to do, plus he was a fixer and talked to a couple of out of town (HaGiang & HaLong) tours I had arranged that had complications. After my four week trip to Southeast Asia, I fully expect to say that this was the best homestay/hotel.

That I couldn’t stay longer… And that was a problem I made for myself.
