Bed was comfy. Location was convenient if you had a car.

Real Celtic tiger house that has been stripped off all personality. Very much a place to stay one night and move on then.

The views form the location were beautiful. It was easy to walk into the town center and to drive to inchydoney beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the noise levels were very low. I didn't partake in the breakfast, but the selection seemed good!

The wifi did not extend all the way to my room. The rooms could also be mapped out slightly better so you know where to go upon entry.

La literie était bien. Nous avions 2 chambres de qualité inégale, l'une très bien au 2ème étage, l'autre moins bien au 3ème...

La salle de bain sur le palier au 3ème étage n'était pas de bonne qualité, robinet cassé, peinture dégradée, on a pas eu d'eau chaude et on a dû tous utiliser la salle de bain de l'autre chambre...

Le beau jardin, le calme, les lits étaient confortables, l’originalité de la maison.

Les sanitaires communs manquaient de propreté.

No signage at location. I rang staff for directions. They didn't know as no-one was on the premises, so it took an age to find. Location is about a mile out of town, up a steep hill so it's a long way to walk for a drink at night or breakfast in the morning. Bathroom not very clean. Maintenance around the property poor.

Nice big room. Very comfy beds. Very close to Clonakilty town. But if you are walking there is a very big hill from town back to the property. We had a car so it didn't matter to us.

No kettle to make tea i nthe room but there was a kitchen that I could use. The shared bathroom had very little toilet paper. BUt I imagine it's not always like that. The place was very well looked after.

There was no TV in the room, the bathroom didn’t have curtains and there was no cold water in the morning.

Loved the location, the house is fab very clean well maintained and rooms spacious and comfortable, The grounds and gardens need a good tidy up and if it was done it wud really add to the charm of the place

Such a comfortable house in a wonderful location close to Inchydoney beach. Excellent en suite bathroom and good sized bedroom with wonderful views. Also an excellent kitchen and dining room and plenty of places to sit outside. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of nice cotton towels. I actually had my best night’s sleep here of my entire week. We stayed in a large family room with our two teen children and we all slept superbly. The decor is a little tired but the comfort of the house more than makes up for it.

I liked it all.

Camera spaziosa e molto pulita, cucina super attrezzata e vista stupenda.

Excelente ubicación con vistas espectaculares. Espacios muy amplios. Facilidad de parking. Las explicaciones fueron precisas y de ayuda. El equipamiento de las zonas comunes es completisimo. Un lugar tranquilo en un entorno privilegiado.

Identificación sobre las distintas posibilidades de reciclaje. Echamos de menos cubos específicos en la cocina; únicamente estaba el de cristal y otro gernérico.

The house looked amazing from the outside.

Up keep is poor outside. Rooms quite large but not a single chair in the room. No tv either. It was a hot night and a winter doona. Even the sitting areas upstairs did not have a single chair.

Omgeving en huis waren erg mooi en stil.

Bedden waren voor ons niet stevig genoeg. Eén van de kamers was te licht, geen gordijnen bij twee ramen.

Really big room for the price. Room was clean and kitchen was well supplied. Host was also responsive when we had issues with the gas burner not igniting.

Stanza bruttina, solo letti (scomodi) e una grande scrivania di cui non si capisce il senso. Piccolo armadio. No asciugacapelli, per trovarne uno ho dovuto girare tutto la casa, alla fine è venuto fuori che ce n'era uno solo e lo avevano altri ospiti incontrati per caso in cucina. Cucina attrezzata ma manca la roba per pulire. Ho trovato il tavolo sporco e ho dovuto pulirlo con della carta che avevo, nessun prodotto per la pulizia. Nel complesso atmosfera fredda, posto lasciato a se stesso. Il self Catering mi piace ma deve essere gestito meglio.

Arrived to an empty house with no prior instructions for check in.

L'accueil incroyable, la beauté du lieu et de la maison, la qualité de la literie, le petit déjeuner offert, vraiment, un endroit magnifique. Merci pour tout et la chambre numéro 7 !

De ne rester qu'une nuit... Si, effectivement, le piano de cuisson fait très peur, mais il fonctionne, il faut maintenir le bouton enfoncé quelques secondes

We had a really nice stay at Scartagh House. Check-in very easy, we even got an upgrade of our room. The house is very nice with all the equipment you need. Room quite big with a comfortable bed.

La cocina disponía de menaje y electrodomésticos suficientes para desayunar o comer, pero la placa de gas no funcionaba ni tampoco el horno ni la cafetera. Limpieza en baño y habitación. Tranquilidad y vistas.

La habitación que era enorme y con unas buenas vistas, solamente contenía las camas con colchones de baja calidad y dos mesillas negras totalmente desconchadas y como destartaladas. Ni un solo mueble más, ni siquiera en la zona de estar donde habia una televisión en la pared pero ni un solo sofá o asiento para verla. Todo vacío, daba la sensación de estar en una casa en mudanzas, a punto de ser desalojada. Las escaleras de acceso al piso primero son estrechas, muy empinadas y de peldaños muy altos. La calefacción estaba apagada con una temperatura fuera de 10/11 grados. Hubo que pedir por whatsapp que la pusieran pero los radiadores de la habitación no funcionaban, no así el del baño que estaba caliente. El jardín, con unas vistas preciosas, se veia totalmente degradado al igual que el resto de las instalaciones, todo con la necesidad de una reforma urgente. En la bañera, un radiador eléctrico tipo toallero estaba desconectado, presentaba el cable suelto sin enchufe y tuvimos que introducirlo en una bolsa de plástico para protegernos de una posible desgracia. No había nadie, ni una sola persona que atendiera nuestra estancia, solamente nos pudimos comunicar a través de whatsapp.

Not much here to say, big house as described washing everywhere in lounge, and a cat!

Very basic, a bed and a towel, a promise of cereals but an empty box, that's it!

The room was clean and warm, with amazing views. Good strong shower too.

The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable. I don’t think in my whole life I’ve ever experienced a bed so uncomfortable. It was like lying on springs. They desperately need to replace the mattresses also, the bed coverings and towels were so old and thread bear even the furniture coverings were frayed. My husband and my son ended up with leg rashes from some sort of insect bites that they got overnight while in the beds. To top it off we were woken up at 2 am by a party of people coming in to the house who were very loud noisy, drunk and had no consideration for the guests who were trying to sleep. It was so bad we considered leaving at that time and driving back to Kinsale where we had a beautiful Airbnb. We only stayed in this house for one night because it was convenient for an event we had to attend in Clonakilty. I would not recommend for anybody to stay in this place. It needs a complete renovation of the rooms. The only thing they’ve done so far is put new carpeting in the rooms but they should really have started with the mattresses.

Great view, friendly staff, kitchen facilities.

Difficult to access without private transport. Uncomfortable bed and noisy linen. Facility in a state of disrepair and unmaintained.

I loved the location with sea view. I found our host Victoria the best bnb host ever. She was exceptionable at her job with a warm welcome and seemed to be running the place all by herself which was some feat indeed.

I didn't realise that we would have a shared bathroom for 3 rooms together.

The rooms were very comfy with the carpets and cosy beds. Lovely big grand house and great views!

Some of the signs were misspelled and there wasn't a lot of privacy in the front rooms.

Our room was dark and small no 6. Our brother in law had the room next door. Unfortunately he could not make it. It was a lovely room and very bright. Also had a double bed. Ours had 2 singles. Also the house was uphill from the town.

There was nobody to meet us.We hung around for about 25 minutes.Fortunately there was a nice view The place needed a good clean especially hoovering. It's clearly a venue that's going to be lovely once it's finished at the moment , they're a bits and pieces missing broken and so on. The bed was so uncomfortable... Like something you would expect from a cheap ymca. The breakfast was a joke.. i\nShared loaf of very cheap bread.. Some cubes of butter and saches of jam.. Oh , and I mustn't forget the cheese triangle each!! I am surprised that the venue would even be open or want to encourage us to leave a review

Couldn’t find any milk in fridge.

We were woken up around 9 am after a very late night by a very loud row and screaming match in the rooms below us. This went on for approx half an hour leading us to get out of there asap. This experience made the place feel quite unsafe and ruined our stay. When we went down the stairs 4 or 5 men were leaving. It was a strange experience and very unpleasant

I liked the quietness of the house and surrounds.

I didn't like the fact that there's little or no person to person contact and bread that was available for breakfast was not defrosted. The feather duvet was also an issue as it caused an allergic reaction.

Scartagh House, Scartagh, Clonakilty - (1 night) Pros. Water pressure is very good, the bed is very soft and comfortable. The instant coffee is very good. Location: very scenic, over looking Celtic Sea Bay. Staff - Victoria: very friendly and helpful.

Need improvement Breakfast is average, not enough cereal, fruits and the milk was expired.

No one to meet us at the property. No hot water for a shower. The outside of the house looks so run down. No proper curtains on the window. I would not have stayed only I could get anywhere else to stay.

Room size and view were great.

Keys to all the bedrooms were left in public areas. No curtains or blinds in the windows.

Very strange smell fom oil burner in our room. Poor breakfast choice. Only milk. Porridge and tea and coffee available. Very overpriced. No tv in room.Grubby interior
