Plantation Bay a Real Resort with a Real Spa

The view from our room, it was beautiful and relaxing. The Spa was superb,,brilliant service from the Spa,, and most staff are nice and friendly.

Some of the staff are not welcoming or polite. The food so expensive for what it is, most of them are okay, considering a five star. Nothing much around especially at night, its kinda boring for us as no entertainment. The moment goes dark, everywhere just shut except one or two restaurant.. Another thing that i didnt like, they charged us for my sons breakfast , on the second day, as they cancelled the breakfast buffet due to renovation, they gave us breakfast credit but only for adults, and exclude my son, which we booked and paid for 2 adults and 1 child breakfast included, We have to debate to the manager and told him that we are not paying anymore as we already paid that moment it put us off as it was poor service considering a five star. The following day , asked the reception to checked our bills, still shocked as they still charged us for my son's breakfast, i cant believed , so i have to debate for the second time around explaining to the reception about my booking 2 adults and 1 child breakfast included.,and not to charged me again for my son's breakfast ,thankfully the receptionist was amazing and helpful, she eventually undestood and not charge me for my child breakfast but what a thing for a five star. It shouldnt happen , it should be a relaxing and comfortable holiday , they should checked their bookings properly.. As a guests we pay a lot of money so we expect a high standards of service. But overall experienced , we still had a great time as the resort was lovely and we had a beautiful room and view even though some of the service was slow and poor.

Very clean, beautiful, and welcoming! The hospitality was absolutely amazing. Despite having a no-tipping policy, the service was truly 101%—attentive, warm, and exceptional. My family really enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

The Chinese-themed breakfast buffet had a great variety, but the dishes were too salty. We opted instead for the fresh fruits, cereal, and local delicacies, which were delicious and a lighter choice for us.

部屋は広く、清潔。バスルームも清潔、快適、シャワーのみだが、個性的な器具でGood。プールもきれいで管理されている。ウェルカムドリンクもうれしい。スタッフも基本丁寧だが、英語で押し切られる感じがあるので、苦手な人は嫌かも？朝食もたくさんメニューがあり、飽きない。レストランスタッフも親切。

マクタンのリゾートホテルはどこも同じかもだが、出かけるのに、毎回30-40分はグラブに乗って出ないといけないので、時間と費用が少しもったいない。ホテルで過ごすには良いホテル。数秒の停電が何回かあり、びっくりした。チェックアウト時にグラブが捕まらず、タクシーとなり少し高かった。時間が決まっているなら、グラブを予約しておくか、ホテルバスをお願いするとよい。水着を脱水？するような機械がおいてあれば（質問はしていない）、荷物が軽くなりありがたい。

Honestly the pool guards, I write guards on purpose as they keep blowing the whistle, if the kids just said on sound in the pool area. The policy they have on paper and how it’s handled by the guards, does not work.

The resort has a beautiful ambiance and well maintained facilities.

We were really looking forward to staying at this resort since it was our first time visiting this resort. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. We encountered a staff member (the porter/cart driver) whose behaviour made us feel unwelcome. My dad greeted him with “Good evening” but he didn’t respond at all. Moments later, when a foreign guest boarded the cart, the same staff member smiled warmly and greeted them with “Good evening”. It was disheartening to witness what felt like unequal treatment, especially towards fellow Filipinos. Everyone deserves to be treated with the same courtesy and respect, regardless of their nationality. To make matters worse, my brother in law heard the same staff member over the radio saying “Mo gawas napud sila” (Are they going out again). Hearing this comment made us feel like we were being talked about in a disrespectful and dismissive manner. It left us wondering whether guest are viewed as an inconvenience simply for wanting to use the services we’ve paid for. We are on holiday to relax and enjoy the resort, not to feel like we’re a burden to the staff. It was an extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I would like to comment the night manager Jacob, who handled the situation professionally. He listened to our concerns, sincerely apologised on behalf of the staff, and did his best to address the issue. His excellent customer service was greatly appreciated and helped ease an otherwise unpleasant experience.

So fun! The staff were super friendly, and the facilities were great.

paid to have 2 large beds on the room , spoke to the staff and shown them my receipt stating we paid for 2 bedd but only gave us a one bed. Spoke and Shown them the receipt and that we paid for 2 beds as was on the booking information but management said unable to give us refund nor provide us with an extra bed and only told us they can only “give 1 bed as was only available at that time”, seriously unprofessional response. So no will never recommend . This was a horrible staff handling customer support and nightmare holiday experience.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Plantation Bay Resort in Cebu. While the resort has good facilities, it means nothing when guests are treated with disrespect the resort is represented by rude staff. “Customer service” with a “hospitable team” is what defines a truly world-class resort, and in my experience, Plantation Bay failed miserably and has the worst customer service and lowest level of hospitality. The root cause of the issue is their rude Manager and extremely unreasonable “no phone use” policy in public areas, including the restaurant, even a quiet phone call is not allowed. I completely understand the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment and controlling loud conversations. However, there is a huge difference between someone being disruptive vs. someone quietly taking an important phone call. During lunch with my family, I received an urgent and important call that I could not ignore. I spoke softly and discreetly, I even covered my mouth, so that I would not disturb anyone around us. Despite being respectful and keeping my voice very low, a staff member approached me several times, telling me to end the call and showing me the signage saying, the “use of phone is not allowed”. I found this rude, excessive, unnecessary and disrespectful. In fact, the conversations from other tables are far louder than my phone call, but the staff didn’t tell the other customers to lower down the voice. After finishing the call, I politely requested to speak with the Manager because I wanted to understand the policy and provide a constructive feedback.

It’s private, relaxing and great staff and amenities

Beach isn’t as nice as other resorts but the lagoons make up for it.

Multiple pools and beach access. Quiet place, isolated, with all the necessary amenities, like gym , spa , restaurant.

Far away from city, limited toiletries.

Great place to stay for families with kids! There are so many activities to enjoy. We had a wonderful time rock climbing, playing tennis, trying archery, kayaking on the lagoon, making crafts with the friendly staff, and relaxing at the pool. There was something fun for everyone, and we made lots of great family memories. Highly recommend!

The Japanese restaurant was quite slow. We had to wait a long time for both our food and even our drinks. The quality of the food was good.

The property was well maintained. Good for families and big groups. The staff was friendly and hospitable.

The breakfast options were limited.

Stayed 2 nights with 2 adults and 2 kids under 12. There was a small hiccup at check in (they assigned us to a room where they were working on the bathroom), but quickly found us a new one. They offered us a complementary spa visit for the inconvenience. There were many craft activities for the kids throughout the day, great restaurants to eat at, breakfast buffet was good overall, and a Game Center that the kids loved (paid video games, free pool/pingpong/foosball). The gym was also nice. The wait for a golf cart ride was short, but walking was easy since the property is built in a circular shape. Souvenir shops closed early and the Filipino special dinner was fun. It is a busy drive from the airport. The shuttle wasn’t available when we needed it, so we had to get a taxi. Also, all of the staff were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay again if we visited Cebu even on a short trip like this one.

The facilities. Good for kids.

The check in took us forever. So I actually booked for this hotel because i want a pool access from our room. Upon check in they want to charge me another thousands for a family room of five instead of the family of four that I booked. I did not include my 3 year old toddler since she is just gonna share bed with us and i know hotels saying kids stay for free is actually not true. They would actually charged kids. The front desk staff insisted me to change the room that can accommodate 5 people which doesn’t have the pool access (higher floor) and charge me another thousands (i forgot the exact amount) but will only give us an extra mattress for the toddler. I asked if we could do that with the current room I booked since it is just an extra mattress but he said i couldn’t do that. Plantation bay actually charge 1k plus only for an extra person to stay overnight but the front desk doesn’t wanna do that because they want me to change my booking to a more expensive room of five. Anyway, they couldn’t provide the same room that I requested even though i said i was happy to pay for another 6-8k for my toddler. They ended up charging me only 1k plus for an extra person and gave us the same room with pool access. The front desk staff was very rude and has very typical discriminating Filo attitude. Thanks to the manager who facilitated everything though. Not coming back in the future.

The property is huge and offers a number of activities to the guests. The staff are accommodating and service is great!

The fresh water pool leaves black stain marks on your feet and even though they say it can be washed with water it takes days!!! And even with these stains that sticks to your feet they do not allow guests to wear swimming shoes on the freshwater pool!!! Also most food we ordered are on the salty side so maybe guests would need to inform chef to lilow on salt.

The no phone rule. This is super strange to have. In fact we have never had this type of rule before in any hotels we have stayed in!

Could be the best experience in Cebu.

Очень интересный отель, огромный бассейн с солёной водой, стрельба из лука, велосипеды, стена для скалолазания бесплатно. Есть и платные развлечения, а так же программа мероприятий на неделю. За время прибывания ели в разных ресторанчиках, всё было вкусно. По территории курсируют гольф кары, что очень удобно. Ходили купаться на пляж, там есть кораллы с рыбками, сам пляж небольшой. На всей территории отеля запрещены чаевые. Если вы захотите заказать доставку, учтите, что за неё с вас возьмут плату, об этом говориться при заезде. У нас был номер на первом этаже с выходом к воде, он был немножко подальше за кустиками от нас, но всё равно очень близко

朝食の種類が少ない。日ごとにテーマが変わる（メキシカン、中華、フレンチなど）のは大人にとっては良いが、子供が食べれる定番のメニュー（ソーセージ、ハムエッグ、チキンなど）は常に出してほしい。 ホテル周りがあまり治安が良くない、歩いていける買い物の場所（コンビニなど）が無いので、ホテル内でのコンビニの品物の種類を豊富にしてほしい。

Only stayed their 2 nights , on both nights I couldn’t order my first choice on menu as they were sold out ? And it wast busy . Couples massage dearer than in Australia ?

The property is beautiful. Was very pleased with the location of our rooms (not too far from the lobby area). Customer service: excellent! Food: Average. Spa experience: Wonderful. I also loved that there was Catholic Mass available on Sunday! That was a very pleasant surprise. I also liked that there were activities offered for adults and children, and not just swimming pools or beach. And appreciated the complimentary beverage. Finally, on-property carts available for those who would have difficulty walking around the property.

Albeit my room was clean, there was a distinct musty odor in the room. I think it was coming from the beddings, or maybe the furniture. Unfortunately, it really bothered me.

Loved the buffet breakfast. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable.

The cost of meals at the restaurants were at least double, sometimes triple what you'd get by dining outside of the hotel. The hotel also charges P500 per bag of food delivered by Grab which is outrageous

Very clean, safe, variery of pools, activities and cafe/restaurants. Comfy size room, great bathroom. Great view of pools. Lovely staff.

Just so happened we had to be locked safe inside our rooms as of 9pm until the following morning due to a routine spray...tbis was a notice under the door with only a few hours to spare...it could have been communicated upon check in (same day of spray). Bed was horrible and lumpy.

ラグーンとプールがとても良かった。一階の部屋にしたので、すぐにラグーンに入れて特別感がありました。 ラグーンの真ん中にあるレストランもとてもよかったです。

水着を部屋に忘れてしまいました。 チェックアウトの後、タクシー待ちでしばらくロビーにいたので、お部屋をチェックしてくれれば、気が付いたのにと思いました。その後、メール等でも連絡はありませんでしたのが、残念でした。

I love the various pools and activities offered. So many different activities for all types of people and ages. My son loved the pools, the spa, the firing range, arcade, and jet ski. My mother loved the Zumba, hammocks, spa, and activities. Palermo was by far the best restaurant. My husband and I enjoyed parasailing, the beach, excursions, how beautiful the property is, and the convenience of transportation. We also like the complimentary towels, drinks, and bike rentals.

The back massage wasn’t the best.

The food was amazing. The facilities were amazing. The staff were exceptional. Will definitely be coming back and have told all my friends about the resort. Some are planning trips for next year. Everything about the resort was amazing.

a wonderfull hotel, staff excellent, eager to please. Amazing facilities, a wonderfull family resort where you can really enjoy your free time. Attentive staff, numerous activities to choose from, and excellent food for lunch and dinner.

The nasty, really unpleasant surprise, are breakfasts. There is a huge amount of Asian cooked food for breakfast, with rice, sauces, cooked meats, etc, but no buffet, no cuts, i.e. ham, cheese, meats, etc, no spreads of any kind, so as a westerner, you have a choice between corn flakes, omelette or plain croissants... i certainly wouldn’t plan on visiting them again Wifi is also not really good, needs improvement.

Staff were very flexible e.g. arranging tour for us even when request was very last minute and bringing sheets etc There were children's menus which were good and they also adjusted meals to reflect requests. Great swimming area and also sea had fish etc Learn to dive location couldn't be closer and Freddie was superb instructor. Our youngest enjoyed the kids craft activities.
