Had a wonderful stay atithi Homestay. The place was very clean, spacious, and well maintained, and the rooms were comfortable and had a really homely feel. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax, and the hospitality truly made the experience special. It honestly felt like a home away from home. I genuinely don't write reviews often, but Atithi Home Stay in Udupi deserves every bit of appreciation and more. From the moment we arrived, we felt less like guests and more like family. Beautiful house in the best locality, with clean rooms and great hospitality. Gayathri and Ganesh went beyond to help us with our requirements and made the stay very comfortable.

Everything was great, except for 1 small issue. But we absolutely enjoyed the stay. As it wasn't peak season, it was just us. We had a nice and calm time. The rooms were neat. The bathroom was very good.

The room was very small, but had all the necessary facilities. My only gripe is that the corner of the beds head side was in the way of us entering and leaving the bathroom. Leading to us scratching our arms against it. It was painful. It it was round, wouldn't have been an issue.

Friendly, accommodating gayatri madam,(actually we are coming early 6am and we are going late 2pm )willing to help with a smile, and incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. and convenient location close to major attractions.. I personally willing to visit here again.

Atithi Homestay in Udupi is a wonderful stay option with calm surroundings yet close to all major attractions. Hosts Gayathri and Ganesh were very warm and helpful, guiding us about local places and cuisines. The rooms are clean, cozy, air-conditioned, and equipped with modern amenities including free WiFi, hot water, power backup, and tea/coffee facilities. A self-driven car was also provided at a fair price, which made our trip very convenient. The open terrace with greenery, peacocks, and a mini garden adds a refreshing charm. Food is not an issue with online delivery options and plenty of restaurants nearby. Overall, a peaceful, comfortable, and reasonably priced homestay experience

Hospitality and friendliness of our host is what we liked the most.Ganesh dropped and picked us up from the railway station even though our train going back was around 12 am.It was a big favour for us as we doubt if we could get any reliable transportation at that time.Gayathri was also very welcoming suggesting us the local foods to try and places to visit,always enquiring about our comfort

We stayed at Atithi Homestay for almost a week while settling our kids at MAHE, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the warmth of the hosts made all the difference. They even helped us arrange local transport, which made our stay so much easier and stress-free. One of the unexpected joys was spotting peacocks leisurely strolling around the property…such a beautiful and calming sight amidst all the running around. If you’re visiting Udupi, especially with family, I’d highly recommend this place. It’s peaceful, convenient, and run by people who genuinely care.

They even dropped us at the Krishna mutt at 5 am because we could not get any auto that early in the morning and it was a torrential downpour...The place is very clean and well maintained...This is in a residential area with beautiful houses with absolute silence and peace. Best place for staycation...

This place is ~3km from the main udupi. So slightly far from krishna mutt and nearby temples. But the area and the place makes up for it with the greenery.

Very quiet locality yet easily accessible. Hosts are superb and one never feels one is away from home. Truly a home stay indeed.

Ik heb een heerlijke tijd gehad in Atithi Homestay.De bovenverdieping met eigen opgang is gereserveerd voor de gasten.De kamers zijn luxueus,de handdoeken nieuw en zacht.Het huis is rustig gelegen in een mooie wijk van Udupi. Ik voelde me erg welkom.Gayatri en haar man zijn bijzonder aardig.Ik kwam heel vroeg met de nachttrein aan in Udupi,maar ik werd wel opgehaald.Gayatri had een blad met toeristische informatie.Als je ergens heen wilde belde ze de autoriksja die dan binnen 5 minuten op de stoep stond. Ook hebben ze me met mijn verdere reis geholpen.Ik kan deze Homestay dan ook van harte aanbevelen.

We had a delightful stay at this property in Udupi. The room and house were impeccably clean, and the hosts were exceptionally attentive. Communication with the host was seamless, with prompt responses via WhatsApp and in person. The house was newly renovated, featuring brand-new, carefully chosen furniture and fixtures. The host's hospitality stood out—she graciously offered a complimentary meal, provided a lift to the temple, and ensured we had all the necessary amenities, including free tea, water, and an electric kettle.

Areas for Improvement: The external metal staircase to the first floor was a bit challenging for us as senior citizens, and there was no assistance for carrying luggage. The location was slightly remote, with limited transport options—no Ola or Uber services—requiring us to rely on the host to arrange transport. Providing a list of local auto and cab contacts in the room would be helpful. The shower lacked a curtain, leading to water spillage, and the absence of window nets resulted in mosquito issues. Additionally, there was no kitchen, and the common hall had limited provisions—tea bags, milk, and sugar were not provided.

It’s secluded from the hustle bustle of the town, easy access to town. Loved the property in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort .

The place doesn't offer breakfast or meals but swiggy/zomato services are available.

Atithi is a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. The hosts Gayatri and Ganesh were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at Atithi and would definitely go back if we are in the area.

Very nice room and very good hosts. Not too far from the train station and close to most of the sights. Want to especially say thank you to the hosts who helped us out when my friend twisted their ankle and they gave us ice packs and other support to assist them during thiss time. They were very responsive to all our needs and very nice to chat to. Even apologising when another guest came with more people than expected.

Clean and well maintained facility

It is located near to Sri Krishna temple. Owners are very friendly and greeted us every day. The room is kept neat and equipped with an excellent bed, AC, fan and drawing table with chair and excellent attached bathroom. The living room is well furnished with sofa, table and fans. The property has spacious portico for sitting and facility for drying of clothes. We felt it as we stayed in our home

Good location. Maple beach is 4 km from the property.

We were 6 people (3 per room) but there was a only 1 big bed in each room and we were asked to adjust on that bed. For extra bedding they were charging 250/- extra.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the owners were incredibly supportive. They guided us with great recommendations, making our stay even more enjoyable. The location was perfect—right at the center, allowing us to easily explore all the nearby attractions. Their food suggestions were spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience

The warmth of Mrs Gayathri and Mr Gokul. Mrs. Gayathri the host called the day of booking 10 days prior to date of check-in to know our mode of transport in arriving at Udupi. She later called a day before regarding confirmation. She offered to provide pick-up services from the bus-stop. Having conveyed that we might reach four hours before Check-in Time, she had no hesitation in offering to accommodate!!! When we reached her husband Mr. Gokul came and accommodated us in allocating the room. We appreciate the warmth and gesture, having come overnight by train, followed by early morning reaching by first available bus from Mangalore, they let us IN. We were indeed honored as their FAMILY ATITHIS (Family Members). As per policy they could have denied having reported early, but they were very nice in accommodating in very short time Apart from the above, Mr. Gokul arranged for a Self-Driven Rent a Car at the doorstep with which we could go around within Udupi and Karkala. The Rent a Car provider too did not seek my driving license, security deposit (like my own RC Book, Adhaar/PAN Card/Voter ID etc). All with trust and faith We had no complaints with car and was indeed very convenient for going on time for food, visiting temples, Heritage Village etc

Owners are really cordial with their guests.we got pickup from railway station in their car, we wanted to hire two wheeler as we have not pre booked it, the owner, took us to three rental services in his car because scooty was not available in first two, which saved our time we were running short of. They are the most humble owners we have encountered in our various travels. Homestay is really well maintained and in a very serene location. Near to main attractions of the city. One should definitely go for the stay if they are planning for a peaceful comfortable stay.
