Alles! Vrij behulpzaam, service was top. Je zit midden in de natuur, ideaal om tot rust te komen! Je had ook een algemene deel voor koffie/thee en een koelkast die je kan delen.

Vue incroyable, hôte aux petits soins, qui nous a proposé de nous conduire aux lieux de visites si nous le souhaitions. Petit déjeuner délicieux et copieux ainsi que les repas. Nous nous sommes senties comme chez nous.

Nous avions prévu d’y séjourner deux nuits, mais le site et l’accueil de Chama nous a donné envie d’y rester une nuit de plus. La vue est juste incroyable, le lever de soleil, splendide, la gentillesse des hôtes incroyables, la piscine récente est un vrai plus, les repas étaient excellents préparés par l’épouse de Chama. De plus Chama s’est rendu très disponible pour nous, il nous a proposé de nous amener sur quelques sites touristiques et nous a très bien renseigné sur ce qu’il y avait à faire dans la région. Plus qu’un hôte , c’était presque un guide touristique. il est certain qu’à l’avenir, Si nous revenons au Sri Lanka, nous reviendrons ici et y séjournerons plus longtemps. Un grand merci à Chama ainsi qu’à son épouse pour cette belle rencontre.

A wonderful Little Spot in the bright Green Rice Fields. The owner Family is really helpful and amazing. We Booked for 2 days and stayed longer. Mother cooked delicious homemade meals and breakfast. And the view from the pool is breathtaking. HOT TIP!

Amazing location. Such a comfortable bed. Sunset was unreal. Our host was so friendly and helpful. He food was incredible - they even went the extra mile to make a curry for me that was not spicy so I could enjoy it. Cold beer when we arrived. Great facilitating the room with lots of thoughtful touches. One of the best places we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend this place!

Just a note of caution that the road up to the property is quite steep.

The view from the room is incredible 😍 we woke up for the sunrise it was just breathtaking. The breakfast is really good, our host is really welcoming, and friendly. We loved the place, it is luxury to stay in the nature in Ella.

Heel mooie accommodatie met het mooiste uitzicht van heel Sri Lanka, met zicht op de rijsvelden. De eigenaar, Chamara, is heel vriendelijk en doet er alles aan om je wegwijs te maken en je te helpen. Hij brengt je met de glimlach naar alle hoogtepunten van Ella. En de geheime waterval op 5min wandelen is echt een verborgen parel. Het is 20 minuutjes rijden met de tuktuk naar het centrum van Ella, maar daardoor ligt het hotel heerlijk rustig. Aanrader!

Quite far away from the main town with no nearby shops. The place is located on top of a steep and narrow street that is dark and not walkable at night. Cabs usually refuse to drive you up and you need a tuk tuk Breakfast was basic (only toasts, eggs and juice) Room too basic for the price

Excellent experience in this place! The room with the view and the bar where you have breakfast is a true paradise, you can really experience the relaxation and the magic of the surroundings, best decision to stay a little bit away from Ella (too crowded and touristic) Chamara and his family create the best atmosphere, the food is delicious and they are so chill and friendly. I 100% recommend this lovely location!

Je kiest deze accommodatie voor het uitzicht en de rust. Eenmaal daar blijkt de eigenaar een aardige sympathieke man te zijn die meedenkt. Ook behulpzaam met het verzetten van onze huur-tuktuk op een stijl stukje. Mogelijkheid om te eten, en dit was lekker. De reinheid en frisheid van het huisje. Het fijne beddengoed. Nogmaals: het uitzicht was prachtig!

Tip voor de eigenaar: de ophanging van de douchekop in het bovenhuisje kan nog wat verbeterd worden. En ook de spoelkracht van het toilet in het benedenhuisje (tip voor logees: bij doorspoelprobleem even een waterfles vullen en deze meegieten). Dit was onze 6e accommodatie in Sri Lanka (zitten nu in de 8e) en achteraf gezien vonden we deze relatief duur, namelijk veruit de duurste van alles wat we tot nu toe gezien hebben (en die waren vaak met zwembad). Maar goed, we boekten dit zelf dus we wisten dit. Het weggetje vanaf de hoofdweg naar de accommodatie heeft een aantal Hele Steile stukken (maar geen zorgen, je huur-tuktuk kan dit echt aan!).

Prachtige locatie en supervriendelijke familie die je als hun gast alles eraan doet het je naar de zin te maken. Op 5 minuten lopen is een waterval waarin je kunt afkoelen.

Avec ma femme et mon fils, nous avons passé 4 nuits chez Chama et Niluka, et les membres de leur famille. Nous avons vécu une merveilleuse expérience au sein de cette famille sri lankaise. En dehors de Ella, notre bungalow au milieu des rizières avec vue sur les montagnes étaient formidables. C'est un lieu dans la nature, simple et authentique. Chama nous a donné plein de conseils et aidé pour organiser notre sejour..De plus, nous avons adoré la cuisine (petit déjeuner et diner) de sa femme Nilika. En quelques mots, l'une de mes plus belles expériences au Sri Lanka 🙏. Meric. Nicolas.

The location is serene and peaceful. The hosts Chana and his wife are amazing and have deliberately chosen a simple and slow life. The food is lovely, fresh. Views are stunning. Overall it is a back to nature and back to roots type home stay concept where you can reconnect with yourself and find some much needed peace.

Nothing much to dislike.

Relaxing place in the woods with rice paddys literally next to your doorstep. You really feel that nature surrounds you with wildlife and beautiful scenery greeting you every morning. Fantastic host family who go the extra mile for their guests. They are still developing this place, and are very open to suggestions (love this!) Ella is a 25min ride away, and the local bus is a good alternative in daytime. Seems a bit exotic at first, but once you try it's cheap and functional.

Lacks a few practical details and written info, but the hosts are continiously working on it. No AC.

This family-run guesthouse is located in a stunning setting—beneath the room flows a peaceful stream, with breathtaking views of the mountains and rice fields. Charma and his family were wonderful hosts who welcomed us with warmth and generosity, including a delicious dinner and a joyful family celebration for the Sri Lankan New Year. If you’re looking for an authentic, traditional Sri Lankan family experience—just 20 minutes from Ella, in a quiet area with incredible scenery—this is the perfect place. Highly recommended!

The location was gorteous, the accommodation clean, the surrounding stunning. The owner are super friendly and helpful. We loved this place.

The place is in the most gorgeous location. We ended up staying longer than we had planned for because we truly could not get enough. The food prepared by Chama’s wife was honestly divine and we ended up eating dinner here most nights. Also no mosquitoes! Extremely friendly owners that will help with everything. 10/10 would recommend.

The scenery is breathtaking and so peaceful. You can really slow down and watch daily life for the wonderful people up here, surrounded by nature. The food was incredible, fresh from the fields. Chama and his whole family are so friendly, you really feel welcomed into the family. He was so accommodating too, helped us do all the things we wanted to do. Can’t recommend this place enough.

This was probably the nicest place we have ever stayed. The location is about 15-20 mins from Ella town but it's 100% worth it. The chalet is situated in the mountains overlooking the valleys and rice fields. It feels like a backdrop it's so surreal. The couple running it are wonderful and couldn't do more for us. They cooked their local homemade rice and curry dish for us using all their own produce and it was easily the best thing we have ever eaten. Cannot recommend enough!

We visited Sri Lanka with my husband and his parents. This property absolutely exceeded our expectations. Even though it is slightly away from Ella town (which is in itself another reason to stay there), the accommodation is worth every penny as it is placed amongst rice paddy fields overlooking the surrounding hills and the service provided by Chama and his wife (the property hosts) was soo heart warming that I would choose it over a 5 star hotel any day. We were greeted by Chama who drove us up to our villa and through out our stay was happy to come pick us up from the bottom of the hill whenever we made a nearby trip into other towns. He has a lot of knowledge of the area and happily gave us plenty of tips including some hidden gems such as Ellawella Falls. Chama, along with his wife (Niluka) made us a tasty home cooked meal on the first evening for an additional cost that was so delicious that we decided to have all of our meals with them for the three days that we stayed there. They even walked us through their style of cooking on one of the nights. Chama is very attentive and it was very clear that he cares a lot for his guests to have the best possible experience during their stay. If your interest is something different from a commercialised/luxury hotel, with a lovely local host family, this is your place.

Place with an amazing view 20 minutes away (by car) from Ella Town. 2 beautiful waterfalls within walking distance. It’s warmer than in Ella and in general we found the weather much better (it is lower than Ella town). Bed is comfy with a huge duvet (so comfortable!). Warm water in the shower. THE BEST FOOD, that lady cooking is a true chef, it was the best local food we ate. Plus you can see them cooking in their authentic home. Host was always available, driving us around for a good price. I would stay again.

This is an amazing place with the most beautiful view. The owners Chama and Niluka are the best. Always friendly and helpful! Niluka made an amazing curry for us using their local products growing on the property. It was raining when we came, but both of them made the stay very special. We had an amazing breakfast on the balcony every morning and enjoyed the peaceful and scenic view. Definitely recommend this place.

The two night stay at Kingdom of Rustic Ella was one of the best in our 23 day vacation in Sri Lanka. The owners of this place are very hospitable. At our first day we arrived in the afternoon and did not leave the place because of the nice view and the modern apartment. Second day we woke up with a beautiful sunrise and had a super delicious breakfast before we visited the near by waterfalls. You can go there by foot and for us it was easy to spend several hours at the waterfalls enjoying the nature and the sun. When we got back from our day trip we learned how to cook traditional Rice n Curry in the family's kitchen. It was very delicious. The family grows the ingredients in their garden. We highly recommend this very nice place. During our time we had a lot of peace and captured good memories.

Escaping the bustling tourist town of Ella, we found our perfect sanctuary in this charming chalet. Nestled amidst lush rice paddies and breathtaking mountain views, it was a tranquil escape. Chama, the host was incredibly welcoming and helpful every step of the way. Home-cooked Sri Lankan curry dinners were a delight. We can't recommend this hidden gem enough.

Absolutely beautiful location, outside of the touristy town of Ella. The accommodation was immaculate and so comfortable.We spent 3 nights here and the owners cooked dinner for us, which was the best Sri Lankan food we have had so far on our 2 week trip. Incredible view of stars and fireflies at night. Can highly recommend Kingdom of Rustic if you are looking for a quiet getaway in the mountains. Town and waterfalls all within short driving distance, owners are happy to provide transport if and when needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

You really truly do step into paradise with this accommodation. A beautiful cottage overlooking the rice fields makes you wake up in awe every morning. But not only the view makes this incredible. It is also the good care and warmth of the hosts that let you feel really welcome in their paradise. The food is the best we’ve tasted so far, so made sure we were there for dinner every night! Truly recommend this to everyone travelling to Ella.

Looking for a tranquil stay surrounded by rice paddy fields, the sound of peacocks & a breakfast that was fit for a king this is your place. Slow down & allow the sound of water to pause the business of life. The staff are truly incredible. Chama the owner is a very kind & informative guy.He gave us travel trips & he was so helpful with any of our needs. Pause & soak up nature.
