Reviewed Jun 12, 2026أنا غير راضية عن إقامتي في الفندق. الاستقبال كان بارد وغير مرحب. لم يسمحوا لي بالإقامة في الفندق مع زوجي فقط لأنني أوروبية وهو مصري. رغم أننا قدمنا وثيقة زواج رسمية، أخبرونا أن الفندق مخصص للسياح الأجانب فقط وليس للمواطنين المصريين. شعرت بالتمييز وعدم التعامل بشكل عادل أو محترم. لا أنصح بهذا الفندق. الناس بتيجي مصر عشان تستمتع بإجازتها، ومش محتاجين أي توتر أو مشاكل إضافية بسبب مثل هذه المواقف.

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026The property was close to a lot of restaurants. There’s a coffee shop right across the street which was even better for me. It’s in downtown Cairo and you will hear beeping a noise at night because Cairo is the New York City of Egypt. The price is perfect if you are going to be out and about a lot and just need a place to lay down.
I should have asked about room service, but it was not a daily thing.

Nous n'avons eu aucun menage en 5 jours, l'hôtel est plutôt sale, les toilettes ne fonctionnent pas bien et surtout nous avons oublié un sac de valeur et le personnel dit qu'il n'y est pas alors que nous savons qu'il y est. Des vrais voleurs. Faire très attention, nous appelons la police parce que l'établissement nous a volé.

Es una ciudad que frecuenta mucho polvo en el aire, por Madrid que estuviera todo limpio y ordenado no le hacen un repaso una vez hecha ya la habitación para que ingrese el próximo huesped. Su llegada por el ascenso es antigua. Entendible por la antigüedad del edificio

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026A Downtown location is hard to beat - close to Midan Talaat Harb, Midan Tahir, Sadat metro, Egyptian Museum etc.... Rooms are pretty fresh and clean. Some rooms have balconies.
Bed sheets are synthetic. At night, blue sparks are visible across whole bed. Not conducive to sleep. Smoke from door guys' cigarettes seeps into rooms overnight. In an understandable need to update, some of the hotel's character has been lost, and the bar has closed. Owners seem no longer to value hotel's heritage. No desks in rooms - not ideal if you're working.

Reviewed Mar 10, 2026If you want Cairo Downtown, this is it. Right on Talaat Harb, close to Tahir Square and Egyptian Museum. Just across the road is Cafe Riche (open during Ramadan), and as you step out the lift there's a coffee shop and a bar. Rooms are generally clean and fresh, some have balconies, and a simple breakfast is included.
Some of the character of this old hotel has been lost in what appears to be a recent refurbishment. The old pictures, the 'front room-style' seating area have both been swept away. The bar has been closed, and the breakfast is fluffy factory bread, plastic jam, and Nescafe. This is Egypt, famed for cotton. The bedsheets here are polyester - at night, you can see the blue sparks!

The room did not match the photos that were shown. Each night, the loud sounds from maintenance made it extremely difficult to sleep. When I brought this up with the staff, they merely dismissed it, claiming the noise originated from other buildings. Additionally, there was an unpleasant odor, reminiscent of cooking eggs, that filled the air. I will never return again.

Property old, even when the room was comfortable and renovated, specifically the entrance to the building, the elevator, and the restaurant, had a really bad appearance, desolate, old and gloomy. Those places didn’t inspire safety.

Het gebouw werd gerenoveerd. De lift werkte maar zag er abominabel uit. Elke keer spannend om erin te stappen. New lotus bestaat eigenlijk niet. Het is de 7e verdieping in het gebouw van oude glorie en niet meer bestaand Lotus hotel. Bedden waren wel goed genoeg. Maar de ramen hielden het verkeerslawaai niet buiten. Dus niet slapen tot 01.00 uur in de nacht. Ontbijt is heel beperkt ( 1 soort zacht zoet brood), meer dan 1 ei is probleem. Als je bewust kiest voor zo een hotel dan geen probleem maar het wordt anders gepromoot.
