Zimmer waren zwar gross, aber völlig uncharmant, wie in einem Autobahnhotel, Bad wie in einem Krankenhaus.

Everything. We’ve been travelling along the NC500 and this was our favourite hotel we stayed in. The staff were excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back.

Het hotel heeft een centrale ligging. We hadden een kamer aan de achterkant van het hotel. Het is erg rustig. De kamer en het hotel is schoon. De badkamer is prima. Goede douche. Het personeel is vriendelijk en erg gastvrij. Het ontbijt en diner is prima.

Op de kamer ontbreekt een stoel of bankje.

The Royal Hotel was busy, but the reception staff member was welcoming and helpful. The location was excellent and made it a convenient stop. Everything was very clean, and breakfast the following morning was pleasant.

There were strong food smells throughout the complex, as the hotel has an onsite restaurant.

Bedroom doors banging shut at 05:00am waking you up. Breakfast: understaffed, chaotic and we gave up waiting for our order to be taken after 20 minutes. I paid for bed and breakfast and got bed and NO BReakdast.

While a nice hotel, the beds were very firm and showers were very small. Interactions with some of the staff was disappointing; including the night manager and restaurant manager. The overall rating would have been lower had it not been for the efforts of Paola, the receptionist - she was fantastic. The hotel is conveniently located to the harbor area.

Interaction with the night manager was frustrating in trying to secure dining option assistance. The restaurant manager was dismissive and I observed some of his physical interaction with servers in the hallway between the kitchen and restaurant that I felt lacked professionalism. Hopefully these were isolated instances.

Das Hotel ist einfach zu finden und es hat genügend Parkplätze. Gleich nebenan ist eine Tankstelle, praktisch. Der Eingang ist gross, und der Empfang sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind gross und die Betten bequem, das ganze Hotel sieht gepflegt und renoviert aus. Es hat einen grossen Esssaal und auch eine Bar/Pub. Zu Fuss ist man schnell am Hafen und im Städtchen.

Zum Abendessen war es sehr geschäftig. Das Personal wirkte gestresst und war etwas harsch bei der Bedienung. Die Wartezeit war auch relativ lange, bis das Essen kam. Der Salat war verhältnismässig teuer, das Wildgericht und die Ravioli hingeben wunderbar lecker.

Fantastic hotel, staff very friendly. Everything was exceptionally clean, well maintained and modern. Breakfast was excellent, very well cooked and generous portions. We ate on the restaurant for dinner and would highly recommend it.

The price. £270 per night for the ‘best’ room in the hotel. However lacked in finishing touches. Stains on the pillow cases. No tissues. Light in bathroom mirror not working. No blind in bathroom window making me feel exposed when dressing. No bags in the sanitary dispenser. No complimentary water. All inexpensive touches, but matter given the price.

Staff were amazing food was great

Not much only issue which could occur was that you may not get a table for dinner as it’s open to the public so book when you check in. Some people were turned away

There was a big damp patch on the wall. It should have been sorted way before the book was used. I complaint to the Manager and he only offered me a bottle of wine?? Not impressed at all

Good functional busy hotel. Guest lounge which was very comfortable. Our room was comfortable and we slept well. The restaurant was busy and the service a bit slow but the food was very good. Plenty of parking.

No lift so carrying cases up flights of stairs is a challenge when you are a bit older!!

The location was excellent. The hotel looked inviting. Room was clean and tidy and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable. We had a balcony (but unusable as it was raining) Breakfast was very good with everything we wanted.

The only part we didn’t like was the fact that when first looked at price of this room by my partner it was £180, but then. When I went to book it on my phone, the price had gone up e up to £225. I presume it’s because two ppl were looking at it. So they escalated the price. Not very fair of them

Das Hotel mit typisch englischem Charme liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe des Fährhafens. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Direkt neben dem Hotel beginnt der Wanderweg auf den Hügel hinter Ullapool mit toller Aussicht.

Das Frühstück war nicht sehr reichhaltig.

Beautiful location and great food

All staff were great except one of two in the waterside restaurant. Told we couldn't have tennents in the restaurant...that we ordered at the hotel bar...but you can have any other drinks from the bar, they'll even get it for you. We spent £300 on the meal for 3 people, we should be allowed our drink of choice, especially when you're serving it in the building.

We have just spent the most enjoyable time at the Royal Hotel At check in we were greeted with a big smile by Paolo who made us feel very welcome and pleased to have us check in Our room was very clean and felt very new. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very good indeed At breakfast we were served by Ricky and the rest of the team. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious. Ricky was very engaging and his personality ensured our day started off really well At checkout we were served by Charlotte who was again a credit to the hotel Well done to all the team!

Large scale hotel without any real character. Caters for coach parties but handles them well so no queues at breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Hotel in Ullapool. It is a large hotel with a bar and a restaurant. We included the breakfast, and it was excellent. Our room was on an upper floor with a nice view of the loch. The room was quite small, but clean and comfortable. The hotel is very convenient for walking into the small city. It sits back off of the highway, so there was no problem with street noise. There is ample parking in the parking lot. And there is a petrol station right next door, which is very convenient for people like us who were driving.

We arrived early, so we knew we would have to wait for a room, but the hotel was very strict about their 3:00 check-in, so we had quite a long wait. The receptionist wasn't very communicative, but the assistant manager (manager?) was more helpful.

The room is very spacious. We were three people and found it comfortable for everyone. Breakfast included was very convenient and it offers a nice selection.

On one night we had trouble getting a spot to park at the front - we believe it was because the restaurant was full. We had to park at the back and unload the car under the rain. It's nice that there is extra space at the back but it would have been even better if the spaces at the front were reserved for hotel guests.

Breakfast was very good, plaited hot food, with continental buffet, service was excellent

Easy to find, plenty of on site parking. Location perfect - view over water and short walk into the centre. Also the trail to hike Ullapool hill starts just behind the hotel. Room was OK. Facilities all worked. Breakfast was really good.

Some of the parking spots are badly drawn. Many cars couldn't fit in them. Not even 5 mins grace at leaving time. Staff were quick to knock and ask you to vacate. Bit petit. Had a medical issue that delayed me (unforeseen).

Nice bed, nice view, big comfortable room overall. I woke up feeling refreshed. To be honest, I had some complaints, but I know it was a great bed/room because I forgot what they were until really thinking about them for this review. This is really easy for the ferry. Petrol station is literally next door; car park is large, and the ferry terminal is a 30 second drive down the road.

So, the shower was not the best. Ours didn’t have any shelf space inside, which was an obvious pain point. Also, the head put out too much water for the drain, so you had to use it at a trickle or risk the shower basin overflowing. More annoyance than problem, but not a small annoyance either. Also, the terrace room with a view was really cool, and the view was great, but just be aware that they do abut either the car park or the driveway (or both) and at least ours was fully visible from the main road. Not a problem noise wise actually, but if you’re very private they may not be what you’re after.

Viel zu teuer Einrichtung veraltete, beim Frühstück völlige Überforderung des Personals. Alles hat ewig gedauert……. Zimmer dunkel, alles total veraltete und verwinkelt.

Fantastic location, rooms were exceptionally clean. All staff were so friendly and accommodating, especially Charlotte at the front desk.

The food in the Waterfront restaurant was delicious. I don't often eat fish but it was cooked to perfection, so I had it every night. Staff were very attentive and helpful.

There was nothing wrong with the property

Room was cold on arrival. One heater to warm up a big bedroom...didn't come near managing it. There was no hot water in the wash hand basin tap in the evening or the following morning. Light in corridor not working.

Service in dining room. There is no system, the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing. Waited 1hr 20 before asking where our food was, 40 mins for our drink, wasn’t only us another couple waited 2hrs for main course. Not the waiters fault who are lovely and friendly they’re just not guided.

Clean and comfortable rooms. The food in the Waterfront restaurant for dinner is excellen. But what really made our experience were the staff, especially the lovely lady on reception (forgive me for forgetting her name). She was so welcoming and friendly and really makes the experience of arrival after a long day of driving worthwhile. She always had a smile and a chat whenever we passed reception and helped us with our itinerary during our stay, giving us some great recommendations which really made our time in the area unique and amazing.

Breakfast is OK - nothing special. The buffet selection is quite limited, the cooked breakfast OK - small portions. The service in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner, while delivered with a lovely smile, is unfortunately quite slow. They do get awfully busy so I guess they need some help. It was peak season to be fair. There was a general lack of amenities in the room - just the little things which help during the stay and add those pieces of value: no box of tissues, no vanity kits or shower caps in the bathroom, no dental kit available at reception, no slippers. If they can add those things - this place becomes amazing in my view, instead of just fine.

Bathroom drain was clogged; this could have resulted in shower flooding into the bathroom. A member of staff cleaned it and fixed the problem.
