Clean Very accommodating for baby appliances like highchair and travel cot Staff were friendly and helpful Great location for a Cotswold visit
Too hot (during the heatwave). The apartment lounge only had a small window and the bedroom was a balcony door but it was just so incredibly hot we left a day early (we were travelling with a baby). They provided a fan but it did little to help. Perhaps it may be time to modernise and get some aircon units placed in the apartments with the changing UK climate.
The apartment was clean on arrival and the kitchen was equipped with the essential equipment, such as microwave, dishwasher and utensils. The lake view front the apartment was beautiful and a very calming place to stay.
On our first night we had to move apartments because there was no hot water. The hotel reception staff did not Apologized and made us feel like it was our fault. The on site restaurant was over priced and the food wasn’t very good.
Excellent location and staff.
Location was nice Spa area was nice
Staff not friendly asked for for toilet roll was told they don’t provide??On the day requested for extra bed but it was not given Breakfast was good but not much vegetarian option
We had a very nice apartment with a large balcony and we also had a partial view of the lake
It was very warm on an evening and there are a lot of wasps so not able to open any windows
Excellent location. Excellent facilities
We had a corner room that only looked at a wall from our balcony. So ideally next time I would like a bit of a view if possible. Thank you
Great location and views form our balcony
Our apartment was extremely tired. Cracks in the walls. Very dirty, marked taps/shower. Dirty floors. Oven didn’t work.
Nice and spacious
Balcony shared with public path - should have at least little thing to mark boundaries- the chairs on balcony NOT comfy - look hard feel hard - -shame nobody use them!! A real waste
A beautiful property and although it was busy and popular, all our needs were met.
Nothing all great
Lovely
Would have liked a food shop, as self catering with no car.
Everything is good except your electric charging point for EV ..lots of them out of action and if its available difficult to connect due to poor signal
EV charging point is downfall. You need to have a better connection especially mostly people now drive EV
Position
Rooms too hot fan broken asked three times to fix didn’t Happen. Balcony locked on first room as the wood was rotten and dangerous so had to move room (room 601) Spa too busy kids in sauna. Vegetation not trimmed around lake so view obscured. All hotels electric chargers not working told to go next door to charge of which only 2 of four chargers working.

Love the location
Having to now pay to swim
Area was okay
I lost my precious cat here . This place is not at all pet friendly. The hotel is not helping me find her .. taking off the posters I am putting in search for her. Will never recommend this place.

internet connection not great
The location is brilliant. Perfect for exploring the waterpark. Lots of walks and activities nearby.
When we arrived it was a heatwave. We were told there was no air conditioning and a fan was in our apartment. And to keep the curtains closed. When we got to the room dripping in sweat from walking all the way around the hotel with our bags the room was stifling we couldn’t bear to be inside. There was one small fan for the whole apartment. The blackout curtains made the room claustrophobic. The lighting was not enough to be able to sit in the room or use the kitchen. On the bedroom window there was no net curtain so even in the cooler hours there was no stopping bugs and wasps coming in. And there were plenty of those. The patio was dirty and there were two small tables and 4chairs also dirty. No parasol or cushions to use to sit on. So not usable even in the evening. The bedroom/living area was tired and outdated. Only a small double bed which was not that comfortable. We decided after two nights to leave the hotel and checkin to a hotel with air conditioning Which was disappointing As we love the area. The hotel needs a makeover and updating desperately. I know that the summer has been incredibly hot but the hotel could have arranged better fans/coolers to keep cool.
Huge apartment with 2 good size bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a functional kitchenette with 2 fridges. Great location.
Lovely and clean with all facilities you could need
Extreme hot weather made the room unbearable to sleep or stay in due to no air conditioning. Windows can only open approximately 4inches. Requested a fan from main reception twice but to no avail. We ended up sleeping in my car with ac on just to get some sleep. I can’t believe that such a modern hotel can’t even cater for hot weather Extremely dissatisfied and upset Considering how much you charge and you can’t even get the basics right
Lovely spacious apartment with two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and separate kitchen / lounge / dining room And balcony. Clean & well kept.
Could have done with more toilet rolls!
99% of staff who we encountered were courteous, friendly and professional. The breakfast was excellent. The suite we ended up staying in was lovely. We had to speak with the night staff with regards to moving rooms - we were eventually moved, almost opposite the room we were in, however, the difference in temperature between both rooms was extreme. We spoke with three young women, one of whom I believe was the night manager. They couldnt have been more helpful and we cant thank them enough for that. We would also like to say a huge thank you to the volunteers at the visitor centre - absolute stars on both Fri & Sat. The milk donated was very much appreciated.
There is NO AIR CONDITIONING at this hotel. If you are unfortunate enough to be allocated a 2nd floor apartment eg room 722, it is hotter in the room than it is outside at 35degrees, with absolutely no air flow. We literally couldnt breathe! We had our dog with us; after 10 mins in the room, he was becoming unwell, over heating, and we were dripping. We had to leave the room. I did ask at reception for a second fan, and was put on a list by the lovely young girl in reception. We spent our day sitting in the reception/bar area, as this was the coolest place. After trying the room again later in the evening, we made the decision to ask for a room change or our money back, so that we could find somewhere more suited to purpose. I have to say, although it took some time to sort, I was kindly shown a different apartment, with a door and fresh air. We gladly accepted it. The following day, when my husband returned the first room keys, the day manager pointed out that we had been upgraded and hadnt booked for the level of apartment we were now in. We were both upset by her attitude; when you book an apartment in a hotel, the rooms should be fit for purpose and ours were not!
Everything. Perfect location, apartment, Spa 6, breakfast
Le site et l'appartement très spacieux
Rien de particulier
Dog friendly great layout
No AC
Great facilities and location. Really helpful staff
Recent policy change ... now charge 10gbp for access to sauna/pool
We liked the spaciousness of the apartment check was really easy staff friendly and views beautiful
Window being left open by housekeeping so lots of mosquitos were in the apartment
We stayed at the De Vere Cotswolds Water Park / Apartment hotel and it was a genuinely miserable experience, mainly because the apartment had no air conditioning and no fans. We checked in around 3pm and the room was already stiflingly hot from the afternoon sun (west-facing). I almost fainted when we walked in. We immediately went to reception to complain. Staff promised a fan would be delivered to the room within 30 minutes. It never arrived. We tried calling the front desk repeatedly (dialled 0 for about 20 minutes with no answer). After nearly two hours of waiting in the heat we called again — still no answer. The in-room chatbot was useless and just told us to phone an external number or email. No one appeared to be monitoring emails after 5pm. We had no choice but to keep the windows wide open for any ventilation, which meant the entire apartment filled with the strong smell of dung from the surrounding area. There was no way to make the room bearable. Other issues that added to the frustration: • Room was not ready at the advertised 3pm check-in time and there were long queues at reception. • Bathroom fixtures were loose. • The TV was a small, basic “dumb” TV (not a smart TV). • The EV charger was out of order. The complete lack of cooling options should be clearly stated on Booking.com and the hotel’s own listings. Guests deserve to know before booking that these apartments have neither air conditioning nor even a simple fan, especially in rooms that catch the afternoon sun. We left disappointed and uncomfortable. Would not recommend or stay again.
Perfect space for 2 adults and 2 teens
Modern , clean , facilities were great
Quiet place Very clean Comfortable beds Good breakfast Everything you need for self catering
3 very important things; 1. The hotel is absolutely isolated from everywhere, you can't go walking (always need a car) and absolutely no paths for stroller 2. The fire alarm went off twice in 24 hours and one of these was at night when we were sleeping. So we were obliged to leave the building with our 9 month old baby. It was an issue with the system. 3. There are no cots at the hotel, though it was promised on their website. The device they call "cot" is a playpen with a bottom on the floor level, no mattress and very cold to sleep on the floor.
Location and views are hard to beat! Dog friendly rooms are amazing for travelling with pets. The facilities are brilliant too and staff couldn’t be more helpful.
The general tidiness of outdoor areas was not as good as the interior. A bit more effort would make all of the difference as you can easily spend a lot of time in the outside spaces when the weather is good. Also, disabled parking is very limited (2 spaces) with close access to the lakeside self catering rooms. That could also be improved very easily.
Spacious and comfortable; great to have a patio
No bowls for my yogurt and fruit breakfast! Just plates and glasses. Shower was bad: not able to adjust height or angle of showerhead

Great location. Large rooms (apartments). Pizza spot next door is very good.
They charge £10 per person every time you use the swimming pool. Both EV chargers out of order. Onsite restaurants are not up to standard. Parking feels like there should be plenty of space but it fills up very quickly. Extremely hot in the bedrooms, yes it's the summer so kind of expected but having windows that only just open doesn't help
The apartment was unbearably hot
More fans. Or aircon!
Large comfortable apartment overlooking the lake so nice and cool
Very limited crockery and glasses in the property. Restaurants had very pour reviews
Excellent location, clean and quiet
No air conditioning in rooms at ground level for dog friendly rooms
The bedroom suite had excellent kitchen setup - cooker/ oven/ full sized fridge / dishwasher - so we were able to have all our meals in our room. The balcony view was lovely. Having water dispenser in corridor a godsend.
You had to pay £10 to use the pool.
The apartment was clean and tidy.
We went for a meal in the brasserie. VERY expensive. When we sat down a Waiters came up to us and asked ' 'would you like still or sparkling water?' Not 'what would you like to drink' We thought that was nice....a complimentary water as it was so hot. WRONG they charged us £5.50 for a bottle of water. Chairs outside our room were very worn and needed a good smarten up! No cushions on the so very uncomfortable. Not worth the money we paid to stay 2 days!!!
The staff on check in were amazing. Olivia went above and beyond to support in helping us move to a much cooler room in the heatwave we’ve been having. The rooms in the main building were newly renovated and really amazing. Breakfast was fantastic, so much choice and one of the best brekkies I’ve had in a buffet style set up.
Just challenging with no Air Con during this weather we’re having.
• Location: The location is beautiful and very convenient, as it is quite close to all the nearby towns of the costwolds. • Service: The service was good throughout our stay. • Comfort and Space: The apartment was very spacious, comfortable, and clean inside. • Special Requests: We were lucky to get an apartment with a lake view, and the staff provided the baby crib we had requested in advance. We recommend this hotel to stay with family in the Costwolds.
• Interior Condition: The apartment feels a bit outdated and is in need of a renovation. • Exterior Maintenance: The exterior of the building is poorly maintained and looks quite neglected. • Lack of Cleanliness: There was a lot of dirt and cobwebs in the common areas. • Balcony: Our balcony was so dirty and covered in spiderwebs that we were unable to use it, which was very disappointing.
Brilliant location - not far from Cirencester and the motorway. Lovely walks close by. Our little boy loved the play area also. The apartment was clean and very well stocked with equipment. We loved that even our dog was well catered for - you could have a bed and bowls if needed however we took our own. All staff were friendly and helpful.
Disappointing the lift was working during our stay as tricky to navigate stairs with luggage however we understood it was being fixed.
Very comfortable and calm place with great nature around.
Quality of breakfast is below average. There are no much options of dinner as well with only one restaurant.
Perfect
Location and quality was exceptional
Nothing
Tranquil and spacious with fantastic views of the lake
Good location. Great for open water swimming at Lake 32 and running around the lake on the property.
No AC. Restaurant was just ok.
Location was nice
No air conditioning in rooms or corridors, very hot! Lucky we had doors and windows to open
Excellent location, clean and tidy
It was unfortunate that the temperature was 35 degrees for 2 / 3 days outside and there was no air con. One fan was supplied , the room was 32degrees all night. The whole building was way too hot. Maybe it’s time to install air conditioning with the current climate.
No disabled parking near entrance Staff talk ar you
Wonderful environment and well appointed apartment.
Excellent space especially travelling with a baby
The lift was out of order during our stay

Excellent for a dog friendly stay
Great location
Bad service, lifts not working at all, restaurant staff rude
Room and facilities were fantastic Clean, comfortable
Found toe nail clipping in bathroom
Location and surrounding scenery good
Horrendously noisy party upstairs until 11.15 first night - second night constant banging of outside door as people exited the building x
Lovely room, lovely sitting area and kitchen massive open windows and a nice balcony,
the bathroom was very outdated that’s the only thing I would say needs improvement
Always return every year fab location and good value for money
Would prefer if dog rooms on ground floor had a small enclosed area rather than open on to grounds cannot let dog out to sit. (Room 505)
Le cadre est très sympa et propice aux balades. On peut observer des oiseaux sur le lac depuis le balcon ainsi que le lever du soleil.
Dommage que l'autoroute soit si près (bruit plus ou moins pronoce selon le vent).
Location, size of room, facilities in room
All the balcony furniture was covered in cobwebs, so it was unusable. We requested a baby cot 5 times over 2 days, which was already prearranged to be in our room, but never arrived until 2nd day of our stay. No air conditioning in the room is very uncomfortable in summer weather. You have to pay £10 per person to use the swimming pool (ridiculous for such a basic facility). To get new towels, there was a supplementary charge (ridiculous).
Location
Payment to use pool if you didn't have a treatment
There’s a lot to like about De Vere Cotswolds, especially the new facilities, large 2-bed ‘flat’ type room, and friendly service. The gym was larger than I expected, while the brasserie and lounge was nicer than I expected. My wife also loved the buffet.
The big let-down was the view, the 1/2-bed rooms are all in a separate building, and my guess is 60% are not lake facing. That wouldn’t be an issue if the rest had a forest view, but the line of cars between the forest and building really kills the mood - it’s not a ‘forest experience’ Now I get that even though I requested a lake view it wasn’t ensured, but I did expect I could easily access the lake - which also is not the case. There’s no real ‘relaxing’ area with a lake view or loungers, there’s only the outside brasserie seating. If you want to lay out in the sun by the lake, you’re out or luck. Even the lake walk has no real lake view. So basically, we had a nice room that could have been anywhere in the Cotswolds, the lake didn’t play a part of the trip. Most hotels solve this issue by naming the rooms ‘Lake view’ and ‘Forest view’ so you know what you’re getting. Not here, it’s luck of the draw. I’d happily pay 10% more for a view, while others I’m sure would rather save a few £. Just separate the rooms by view and don’t get all of our hopes up that we may get a nice view…
Lack of child friendly food options
View of lake and balcony. Good sized apartment with well equiped kitchen. Fan which was essential in heatwave. Excellent, helpful staff. Walking distance to 2 great lakes for swimming and water sports. Lovely spa. I would really recommend.
Excellent weekend break
We had a really lovely stay, helpful staff, beautiful location and great rooms, we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much to the team at De Vere :)
I will say the rooms were very very warm and well insulated, which in summer is not so great, but when requested a fan from reception it was delivered to our room swiftly so can’t fault it.
Fantastic location. Amazing views. Wonderful break.

Lovely hotel
Was charged £30 for dog friendly apartment and told it would come with dog bed and bowls. Didn’t get these
Everything was great, the hotel was so lovely and clean and modern, the bar area was nice and alas dog friendly as was the boathouse restaurant, the food and drinks were great, the staff were helpful and friendly, the walks right outside the hotel round the lakes were stunning and our dog loved the holiday too with the lovely walks, dog bed and bowl provided and dog friendly bar and restaurant really made a difference, the girl in reception thay checked us in was particularly helpful and welcoming and ensured we had a lake bire room which really made our break for my husbands 40th birthday extra special, we will be returning 😀
Nothing
Cleanliness, size of rooms and bed. Staff service.
Very easy to hear your neighbours through the walls more so than other hotels. I.e. can hear talking, curtains closing, showers and bathroom usage
Really friendly and helpful staff, the apartment was excellent value for money and the breakfast buffet is incredible. Well worth £19.
