Beautiful place with friendly staff

This hotel shouldnt be presented as located in Cirencester. It is not in Cirencester. It is in South Cerny which was quite a surprise for us qhen we arrived.

Only problem there wasnt enough shelf /storage space in bathroom and not enough drawers in bedroom

Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück was frisch zubereitet wurde, sehr gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Abends konnte man sehr gut Abendessen im Pub erhalten. Ideale Lage um die Cotswolds zu entdecken.

Wir hatten Zimmer no 6. Die Dusche war àusserst klein und an der Wand befand sich Schimmel, meiner Meinung nach. Die Dusche hat auch nach Schimmel gerochen. Der Teppichboden im Zimmer hatte mehrere Flecken, da es ein heller Teppich war sieht man natürlich auch die Flecken. Man muss sich ausserdem bewusst sein, dass in dieser Unterkunft kein Fahrstuhl ist und dass die Treppen relativ steil sind.

Location was perfect. It was in a beautiful village, not far from other famous locations. Lovely walking routes, good food and beautiful rooms.

The only issue we there was no shower gel. Heid who served the breakfast was really good and helped us

Good price location and plenty of parking

Nice hotel, free parking although the car park was crowded when we arrived, we managed to move our car a few hours later. Room was very spacious, steep stairs so not very good if unsteady on feet. Bed very comfy, nice bathroom. Nice pub/restaurant. Location a few miles out of Cirencester where we visited on the way down. Food was lovely in the evening, very tasty and nicely presented. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nice choice of coffee with breakfast.

Breakfast could have had a little more choice fresh fruit, granola, more choice on fruit for yoghurt as a single bowl of mixed berries only. Poached eggs were well overdone and were more like hard boiled eggs when you cut into them. Other than that, nothing else.

The Eliot Arms looked inviting from my first glimpse. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I had a lovely quiet room which was spacious. The breakfasts were a treat, catering for many different tastes. The cooked food was very good.

We had bedroom 9 it was small but perfectly fine the bed a good size and very comfortable a very nice big shower in the bathroom. The food at this pub was so very tasty some of the best sausages I have had in a long time. A really lovely breakfast. Amy who served us quite a lot was absolutely lovely and excellent.

I did feel it could have been a little tidier in places but really there was very little that I did not like.

It's a nice place, easy to find and with a car park. When we booked in we were asked what time we'd like breakfast to help staff be prepared at the right times. We were shown to our room despite the staff being so busy with a large party booking for food. We ate in the restaurant, where the service was efficient and the staff very friendly & helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.

The room was smaller than it appeared in the photos, although on the flipside it's actually nicer to have a kingsize bed in a smaller room than just a double bed. The weather had been unseasonably hot for a while before our stay but the room was stifling when we arrived despite low 20s outside. We opened the one window and left the bathroom extract fan running to get some cooler air in, but it was still very hot when we returned later so didn't get a great night's sleep. This isn't the first place we've stayed this summer where the windows have been kept shut no matter what - maybe the manager could check bedroom temperatures versus outdoor and decide when to leave windows open. We would have rated the staff 4 smiles except that the breakfast experience was the opposite of the previous evening. There was nobody to greet us despite standing around for a few minutes so another guest explained that there was somebody somewhere and where the self-serve cereal/fruit bar was. When the staff member appeared they were pleasant but didn't seem to have a grasp on who'd appeared at which table in what order - despite us being asked to give a breakfast time - so the couple on the next table to us (who'd arrived well before us) didn't get their cooked food until we'd near finished ours. Still none of the breakfast or hot drinks bar was explained to us. However, the cooked food was very nice and appeared quite quickly.

Pulizia della camera non consona, molto polverosa e moquette sporca e non aspirata. In tre notti di soggiorno non è mai stato pulito il bagno e solo due asciugamani sono stati sostituiti il terzo giorno. Odore sgradevole in camera e strati di polvere dietro i comodini. Il terzo giorno ci siamo accorti che il piumino in cui dormivamo era stato sistemato al contrario, quindi il letto si è riempito di polvere e sporco già presenti in camera e arrivati dalla moquette. Le aree comuni sono pulite in maniera approssimativa, qualcuno aveva rovesciato del cibo per terra ed è rimasto lo sporco per tutto il tempo del soggiorno con unto sul pavimento e nella zona di ingresso. Appena arrivati abbiamo chiesto di sistemare il bagno in quanto non era stato aspirato dal precedente soggiorno ed era pieno di sporco e capelli per terra. Il personale è stato gentile e ha rimediato, ma la pulizia non è assolutamente consona, il che rende il soggiorno davvero poco piacevole. Personale poco attento a questi aspetti.

There wasn't anything to dislike. I was, however, disappointed in the size of the room, which was booked as a deluxe. But did not spoil our stay.

On main road Way too hot in very small room with windows only opening a couple of inches. Tiny claustrophobic bathroom with pathetic shower Nowhere to sit and dry hair as not even a mirror though room I booked did! Not the room I booked shown online!

Personeel was heel erg vriendelijk. Leuke omgeving om vanalles te ontdekken.

De kamer was verrassend klein en vooral heel erg warm. Het raam kon slechts 10 cm open, waardoor er heel weinig frisse lucht binnenkwam. We hebben elke avond met een koude handdoek op ons moeten slapen. Dit was dus echt niet aangenaam... Het ontbijt was ook teleurstellend, naast de zware warme gerechten kon je niet veel anders kiezen.

Les chambres sont très confortables. Présence d'un ventilateur. Très bon emplacement pour visiter les Cotswolds. Parking sur place. Nous avons apprécié le petit déjeuner anglais très copieux (large choix). Nous avons aussi beaucoup aimé notre diner au pub le soir. Personnel très agréable.

Les escaliers sont un peu raides et étroits pour monter les bagages (pas de soucis pour nous mais utile à savoir). La douche mériterait un peu d'attention (pommeau usé et présence d'un peu de moisissure).

The bed linens were clean and the room neat and tidy. The location was fine for exploring The southern part of the Cotswolds.

The hotel needs a major overhaul. There are stains on the carpet and the paint could use a big touch-up. This doesn't feel like a hotel. When you walk in, you immediately smell beer because the check-in is right next to the bar. This is more of a pub with a few rooms. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If you don't need much, this is a fine place to stay. Note there is no air conditioning.

Great location and the room was very comfortable and clean! The breakfast was lovely. We’d definitely stay again.

There was some building work in the room opposite us that I don’t think we were told about. We got up quite early anyway, but I think if we’d wanted to stay in bed past 8am we would have been woken up. Would have appreciated more of a heads up!

Staff were welcoming

I accidentally double booked a room and forgot to cancel the more expensive one. I also messaged saying we were two adults and a baby coming back in January. They charged us for the more expensive room and kept the deposit for the other smaller room and placed us in the smaller room too. They were not considerate in anyway even with the place not fully booked out. There was a £220 difference between the bookings. They have not responded to our emails. We were not told about renovations going on early in the mornings in the room above us and us and our 6 month old could not sleep. There was a big rat creeping around us while packing the car too. We were very disappointed for the lack of empathy. If we wanted two rooms we would have booked on one site, not two rooms on two different sites. They caught us out and made huge profit from it.

Due to the hot weather windows and doors were open allowing flies into the breakfast room and onto unprotected food.

The meals were very nise, hot and all came oit at the same time as we were a big party and having all but one room and having 2 extra for the meal

Sur nos 3 chambres, une était un peu petite pour 2. Idem pour la sdb. Les lits étaient un peu mous et creusés mais sans que cela perturbe le sommeil

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was really good and it was lovely to sit outside. The rooms were very nice and the atmosphere was wonderful. We would definitely come back again.

The room was lovely, very comfortable bed and bedding. Breakfast was spot on, plenty of choice with great quality ingredients.

The bathroom needs a blind as the sun shines directly into the room making the room very hot. Also needed for privacy.

The carpets throughout particularly the stairs and in the restaurant are in need of replacement they are heavily stained which reflects my score

The pub and staff were great. We were in room 5 and you need to be aware that the stairs are very steep and windey. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The Eliot Arms is a comfortable country pub with rooms. Very pleasant and obliging staff. The room was well equipped and included a fan which was not needed during our visit, but good to see. Nice touches included still and sparkling water, as well as tea/coffee biscuits. Location is quiet and free parking is available. Breakfast was great with wide range of choice. Dinner menu was OK, but included a lot of grilled food. Booked early at a competitive rate and overall very pleased with our stay.

Sehr süsse Unterkunft. Wir hatten unser Doppelzimmer unterm Dach, leider konnte man das Fenster nur einen Spalt öffnen, es stand jedoch ein Ventilator zur Verfügung. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und es sind ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden. Nur die Treppen ins Obergeschoss sind sehr steil und schmal, wir waren froh, nur mit Rucksack zu reisen. Wir haben zudem im Restaurant der Unterkunft gegessen, sehr lecker, genauso wie das Frühstück, bei dem man neben einem kleinen Buffet auch aus einer Karte auswählen konnte.

Im Badezimmer stand leider nur eine Badewanne, jedoch keine Dusche zur Verfügung. Zudem war eine ganz kleine Ablagefläche vorhanden, dabei hätte die Größe des Zimmers noch Platz für ein kleines Regal hergegeben.

Lovely pub location, safe parking, food was excellent. We stayed during the 2026 heatwave so by definition everywhere was vey hot - pub included.

Rooms are pretty small with poor ventilation. Stairs are very steep with cases.

Lovely pub with great staff who were very attentive. The food was good and the breakfasts some of the best we’ve had.

The room was lovely overall, but the shower was a little temperamental and could benefit from being replaced. We also found that the window could only be opened slightly due to the restricted bracket, which limited ventilation. A more effective fan in the room would also be a worthwhile improvement.

Room 1 was a little noisy in the mornings with deliveries, that was the only problem. We was only there 2 nights. So it didn't really matter, any longer than it would been a problem.

Our second time staying here and it was just as good as the last. Rooms are clean and superb the Sunday lunch is amazing and so is the breakfast.location is excellent as well. Staff are lovely to, will definitely be returning to the eliot arms.

Nice location in South Cerney, within walking distance of Spring Lake where we'd been water skiing. Cosy room, very clean with all the facilities you need (including a fan - great, bearing in mind the recent temperatures). Breakfast was really good

Staffing at breakfast seemed short. Or it could have been that everyone came at the same time? However it didn't spoil the service we received, just concerned about the staff being a bit pushed

A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was plentiful and the dinner menu was good. A great bar with a fireplace for the winter months. A decent pub is also across the road. We chose to stay here instead of Cirencester (only 6 kms away) as it gave us a Cotswolds village 'experience' whilst still being close to the historic town. Parking was also a big plus for us.

I would have liked some form of mirror in the bedroom. Luckily I always pack one. A towel rail in ensuite would help as just one hook on door for 4 towels is not good.

Die Lage ist perfekt für Ausflüge in den Cotswolds. Der Pub hat leckeres Essen und einem großartigen Frühstück und ist sehr hübsch eingerichtet. Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich.

We didn’t end up staying there because of the bad staircase and no lift so booked elsewhere with no refund due to cancellation policy. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this old hotel.

No mirror in bedroom to do make up and hair. Had to take down bathroom mirror to use. Breakfast at 9am which we were offered the time and juices, yoghurt not replenished.

Die Duscharmatur ist definitiv nicht Hotel-tauglich und einfach kaputt. Für Rührei mussten wir 25 Minuten warten.

Prachtige omgeving, gezellige pub, sfeervol ingerichte kamer en vriendelijk personeel. Het ontbijt was prima, voldoende keuze en goede koffie.

In de voegen en het kit van de douche zit behoorlijk wat schimmel, dat is ongezond en heeft aandacht nodig. Ik denk vanwege beperkte ontluchting in de badkamer. Het matras is wat ingezakt aan de zijkant, waardoor ik uit bed rolde.

The property itself is a lovely old stone building. The staff were very good. The cooked breakfast was excellent, one of the best hotel breakfasts for a long time. Room furniture and lamps were lovely.

It needs some TLC maintenance. We appreciate the property is old but keeping window frames and woodwork chip free, clean and painted should be a priority. The bathroom needed more attention. Base of taps weren’t particularly clean. Window frames again weren’t clean and needed work. The anti slip mat for the shower should be destroyed, it was very old given the colour and the reverse was covered in black mould. No ordinary teabags in the refreshment tray, not everyone wants camomile, peppermint etc. only one non-decaf coffee sachet in the tray also! It’s these details that people expect when they are paying to stay at a hotel.

Ci è stata assegnata una camera a piano terra e l’unica finestra, piccola, si apriva sul parcheggio auto da cui entravano i gas di scarico perché faceva un po caldo e non c’era condizionatore oltre al fatto che chi passava vedeva tutto dentro ed è mancata totalmente la privaci. Consiglio almeno di mettere anche altre tende non oscuranti. Per la colazione mi aspettavo di meglio, molte cose si vedeva che non erano preparate al momento ma riscaldate

The bed was very old and just too uncomfortable to sleep in it with two persons. There were bugs in the room too. We had to leave after one night but still had to pay the full amount.

Well no air con , asked twice for a fan , but no luck had to sleep with windows open, but windows opened on to a car park The guy working there was great , but one of the ladies, rude unhelpful, also bar closed at 10.25 when asked told we have no any customers for 30mins For the price to stay here very overpriced

The shower in room 6 had a very inadequate cold water feed resulting in excessively hot water from the shower head making showering extremely difficult. We informed the staff, apparently they have known about the problem for some time.

建物のデザインが美しく、田舎風情が漂い、イギリスの文化風土に触れる一泊となりました。朝食も手作り料理をいただき美味しかったです。レンタカーで行きましたが、駐車場も確保されていて良かったです。

It was my birthday when i stayed here and i asked if my son and daughter in law could come and have breakfast with us and i would pay for them as they were staying at some where else but when i went pay they gave me them for free as it was my birthday which was very nice i would defo recommed to anyone to stay here
