Belleek Castle, Ballina

The castle was a wonderful place to stay with an old world charm! The food in the Library Restaurant was superb, along with the service!

That the stay was too short!

The historic aspect and how it was related to the armada was lovely. The grounds were nice to walk around. The cafe was fantastic, with excellent staff who couldn’t do enough. The bedroom was comfortable.

Afternoon tea was NOT value for money, it was a different menu to what was booked online. The staff were not present as what they should have been. Husband was directed to sit on a broken chair , thankfully we noticed as the staff meme er didn’t. The room where you had afternoon tea smelt of foist. Bedroom 3 - the room was nice, however the bathroom was a real let down. Bath was probably a hygiene issue, needs complete revamp. Musty smell in room and over powering smell from fire downstairs .

The staff was pleasant and nice. The room was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was updated adn clean.

Dinner, well if the waitress would have told us about the signature steak, we would have loved the meal. But she pushed the fish special, since we have eaten a lot of fish, we both got the chicken. The chicken was so small and tasteless, a real disappointment. When the other tables steak arrived, the presentation, size and what we hear taste made our meal even worse. The parity of the meals makes no sense. The walking behind the castle was closed and the walking by the river was muddy.

Castle and soroundings are beautiful reception and restaurant very nice.

The painting needs refreshing, the carpet is worn, some curtains are falling down, and some of the furniture is scratched and damaged. The TV was not working properly, and the bathroom needed more thorough cleaning, especially around the taps. The grout was also dirty and could use a proper deep clean. For a 4-star hotel, especially in such a beautiful and impressive setting, I expected a much higher standard of maintenance and cleanliness. The scenery and potential are fantastic, but the rooms and facilities need more regular inspection, care and investment to match the 4-star rating.

Somewhat jaded now, and ideal if you like a bit of faded splendour. Sadly, the plumbing may need a serious upgrade; the usual water pressure issues in the shower.

We had a wonderful stay at Belleek Castle to celebrate our wedding anniversary, as well as my mother-in-law’s birthday, which made the visit particularly special for our family. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive, and genuinely helped make the occasion memorable. The food was excellent throughout our stay and the beautiful, historic surroundings of the castle created a lovely atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and felt very well looked after. It was a perfect setting for two important family celebrations and we left with some very happy memories.

There was honestly very little we could fault. Our experience was extremely positive from beginning to end, and the standard of service, food and hospitality exceeded our expectations. If anything, our only regret was that our stay wasn’t a little longer!

Die Badezimmer ist sehr klein und der Wasserabfluss funktioniert schlecht. Darum diese Note. Boden ist mit Holz unter dem Teppich und quietscht. Schön in einem Schloss zu übernachten aber das Badezimmer braucht verbessert werden. Die Fenster sind auch in die Jahre gekommen.

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Bed was very comfortable and room was really spacious. The grounds and facilities were well managed and bar/food was excellent.

The bathrooms could have been better maintained and the shower in the room was very poor. Very little water pressure on both shower heads.

Lovely location and grounds, and castle rooms and historical decor very nice.... Would recommend. Also free sangria cocktails on the night we stayed..... Nice touch

Minor gripes such as bathroom door of room 11 hard to close and cistern refill was very slow.

We were there 10 years ago and there have bern a few changes more in leadership I would say. The food was not as good as it was, still good snd high quality but not as it was back in 2014.

No swimming pool..

Bella esperienza per chi vuole provare una notte in un castello, la struttura è stupenda. La nostra camera era bella ed arredata in stile, comodo per chi viaggia in macchina, silenzioso. Abbiamo anche cenato nel ristorante dell'hotel, molto buono ma anche costoso.

Il bagno decisamente migliorabile, rubinetto del lavandino allentato e quindi molto mobile, il lavandino stesso era intasato e quindi l'acqua scendeva male. Prodotti da bagno minimi. Televisore vecchio con pochi canali e senza internet. Colazione solo alla carta, ma comunque buona. C'è la possibilità di fare tour del castello ma purtroppo solo in orari che spezzano la giornata (ore 12 e ore 14) quindi poco attuabili.

Staff were phenomenal( thank you ) - the tour was a lil cooky - a wonderful collection of items but just scattered very hodgepodge but that kind of made the experience a lil fun and unique and gave us stories to tell - the bar was fabulous - the room was quite lovely and liked that all the rooms had a very different and unique design - we were so lucky to be able to peek into a few as they were prepping for a wedding the day of our departure - THE DINNER WAS UNREAL - in every way - AN ABSOLUTE MUST - the grounds are lovely and you are just a tiny moment in the car to get into town if you wish - the DINING ROOM DECOR *

im still not sure did I like the fact that the communal/ main rooms were a bit dusty and cobwebby or was that part of the "castle charm" I would stay again so it didnt bother me that much but at first I was a little confused and almost thought lets cancel dinner BUT OH SO GLAD WE DID NOT - again it was AMAZING - unfortunately the cafe was not open the day we arrived so that was a bummer - I would say just dont expect glamorous pristine castle vibes - more like walking into an elaborate country estate that has wonderful sunlight flowing thru the windows with indoor outdoor dust here or there a very "comfortable way of life country home" part of the charm that sets it apart from some of the other "castle stays " we have encountered in Ireland - nothing we didnt like just bits of character that I wasn't sure about at first - the addition of ship design here and there was a lil like the collection area lil hodgepodge but grows on you and give the house a real sense of "personality" - but were completely fine overall once it was absorbed - that being said WOULD DEF STAY AGAIN :) and we LOVED it!

Absolutely nothing

Out of all the castle stays we have stayed in this trip in Ireland, this was our favourite. The castle is gorgeous and all the decorations seemed so authentic. I felt like I’d taken a step back in time. The food was absolutely brilliant. Truly, this is a very special stay.

I would have loved to get a tour, please think about offering a dinner and tour

Room was very clean and comfortable. Everything was beautiful. Enjoyed walking the grounds, exploring the building, and breakfast at Jack Fenn’s. Only wish we had more time there.

Maintenance equipment at the rear could have been tucked away somewhat better so as not to obscure the otherwise lovely views.

Staying at a historical place with modern amenities was wonderful. I loved the beautiful bedroom and the public areas were decorated with amazing detail. The wood in the bar and throughout was gorgeous and unique🌻

A great castle stay. Car parking outside the main door. Dinner, I had the signature dish, steak on a sword. it was unbelievably good! My wife had lobster, and really rates it too. The grounds are good for walking, and it is very quite at the castle. Breakfast was equally good with great coffee and juices. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish.

The staff was great and our breakfast was one of the best we had in our weeks of travel. The hotel restaurant was also excellent. The room was large and had everything we needed. I loved the location with access to trails through the Belleek Woods surrounding the grounds. It was a unique experience that we enjoyed. I appreciated the knowledgable staff that new the history of the place, it added a special touch to have conversations with them.

The bathroom had a musty smell with a door that had some challenges closing. A place like this will need constant maintenance to meet the price point in a more remote area.

We could not ask for a better stay for our anniversary! The staff, the castle, the room, the food, everything exceeded our expectations completely. We highly recommend staying here of you get a chance!

Sehr ruhig gelegen, was für einen tiefen Schlaf sehr förderlich ist. ;-) Es war für uns spannend, mal in so einem alten Gebäude zu übernachten und auch zu besichtigen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Um zu duschen muss man in eine ziemlich hohe Badewanne steigen, was vielleicht nicht jedem leicht fällt.

The castle was beautiful and it was very interesting seeing all the different areas inside. We loved our room and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all so helpful, we enjoyed talking yo them. Our dinner was delicious we all enjoyed what we ordered.

Belleek Castle has a delightful medieval feel. Our room was large and.stately, with a 4 poster bed. We sat in front of the huge windows with a view of the beautiful garden. The castle has medieval armor and art pieces throughout. Nearby is a nature trail that makes a very nice hike. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious.

Traumhaft schön . Unvergesslich und unbeschreiblich romantisch. Sehr nostalgische Ausstattung . Unübertroffen für uns das beste Schloss bisher zur Übernachtung. Parkplätze vor dem Anwesen. We are just home after a lovely weekend in Belleek castle it is the nicest place we have ever stayed. We loved everything about it. Beautiful castle and castle grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff. The best dinner and breakfast 😋 food was superb 👌 we will definitely be back.

Sehr schönes Anwesen und Haus... Absolut freundliches Personal und eine gute Küche!

Man könnte sich mehr bemühen, das wunderschöne Haus und Anwesen zu unterhlaten. Jeden Tag fehlte was auf der Speise- und Getränkekarte selbst der Orangensaft am morgen zum Frühstück war aus und das was verfügbar war, ist teurer als auf der Homepage und auf der Karte die im Zimmer lag. Es war halt alles nicht Aktuell! Die Zimmer selbst hatten am ersten Tag kein Duschmittel und bei der nachfrage an der Rezeption, wurden wir informiert, dass sei normal, mann könne aber die Hartseife verwenden. Eine Klobürste fehlte auch.

This was our third possibly fourth visit to the castle over a twenty year period and yet again it does not disappoint. Food was great, location perfect, castle unique and staff service on point. Have to give the Sunday night bar person a shout out for excellent service.
