Lovely period charm
Location, room, breakfast.
It was a bit noisy - but that is due to it being a historic house with original sash windows etc.
Quiet yet lots of unexpected shops, restaurants & cafes tucked away within the imposing buildings. It was very safe and comfortable at night.
Nothing all very good.
The apartment was very well appointed in a top location
Nothing
Pretty much everything.
Only negative was there were no coffee pods for the very nice coffee machine.
Location was good, bathroom was lovely, Bed felt comfortable, although we did only lay on it as too hot. Breakfast was good.
Went for the fireworks display when it was really hot, but our room was at the top and was unbearably hot despite 2 fans, we understand they can't have air con fitted as is listed, but should be able to have portable air con unit or give alternative rooms. Also my partner banged his head on eaves getting in and out of bed as room was so tight. Our friends room was on same floor and even hotter as had the sun in the afternoon. Also water should have been supplied and wasn't.
Dies sollte man verbessern.
Beautiful building, wonderful location. Staff very pleasant.
We had an attic room and although it was only 20 degrees the room was extremely hot. Fans were provided but they didn’t really help. Window opening was restricted for safety .
We absolutely loved everything. The cookies were very good. Bed was comfortable and very ckean. The staff were all very helpful and friendly
Nothing
Excellent location, clean and very comfortable. Staff at Bistro Pierre very helpful and great breakfast.
Beautiful room, very comfortable.
The only thing that let this property down was that the restaurant was short staffed which they couldn’t really help, but it meant long waits for both dinner and breakfast. A 10 minute car park near the check in desk would be useful, we almost got booked just trying to work out where to stop. The first person I dealt with at the desk told me that two keys would be possible (couple travelling) but a different person said no. A key each is much more convenient.
Location and breakfast exceptional
Even with two fans provided it's was exceptionally hot. When we arrived there was only one coffee pod for the machine we raised this were promised replacements that never came.
Fantastic location in Royal Williams Yard. Lots to see in the yard and plenty of restaurants, bars, etc.
No lift but then again it’s a listed building!!
Beautiful old building. Well-preserved with a cracking view from the window across Plymouth Sound to Drake's Island.
Unfortunately the window was broken, however, the team ensured it was sorted as quickly as possible. As it was very hot, this did not detract from our stay, but if we had adverse conditions, it could have been problematic. We were very lucky and the staff were excellent in supporting us.
Gorgeous setting….situated right on harbour. Complex included restaurants & small shops.
Room quite small….no wardrobe space! Up 2 flights of stairs! Restaurant was lovely but we had to cross open yard in pouring rain!
Beautiful property in an amazing location. Really great staff.
There was nothing we disliked about the property. Looking forward to staying again in the future.
Great location in a charming area and loved the room.
Check-in at the restaurant took a while. It was hot and the cooler was helpful, but still v hot.
It’s location and the standard of accommodation
One of the blinds did not work properly
Beautiful & excellent location
We had such a wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely excellent – so friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. They really made us feel looked after throughout our visit. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location was perfect, right by the docks, with so much to see and do nearby. We loved being able to take the ferry into the centre of Plymouth – such a lovely way to travel and see the area! We also had a fantastic breakfast at **Bistrot Pierre**, which was another highlight of our trip. A brilliant hotel in an excellent location with truly wonderful staff. We had an amazing time and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended! ❤️
The location is lovely to explore the harbour area nd close to the city centre
The pillows in room 2 were poor. Very soft, lacking filling and uncomfortable. The area could do with a regular shuttle bus to the city centre to draw people in and support the venues. Too many places to eat and not enough interesting shops which a bus would help.
Lovely building and room, area was also very good, you could take a walk/swim at Devils point, also plenty of bars and restaurants. On the Saturday a brass came and played on the central green which was really lovely to see. Car parking was easy and included with the accommodation.
Breakfast was included, served in the restaurant opposite, food was ok but prepare yourself for a long wait.
The free parking right outside hotel for 24 hours very convenient. The location was excellent allowing us to wander around the old naval area and have a drink at leisure. Room extremely clean and well appointed with very comfy bed. Best night’s sleep I’ve had in a guest house! Restaurant staff extremely polite and helpful.
Some of the restaurant food disappointing. My husband’s sirloin steak was thin and very chewy and although the breakfast was adequate, my eggs weren’t runny and the bacon was thin and hard.
Good Selection at breakfast, and quality food
Disjointed service. Restaurant staff appeared ambivalent to any stay, and room day to day queries. It seemed an inconvenience to their daily restaurant duties.I got the feeling that despite booking 3 consecutive nights stay that as a Booking.com customer you were dealt with as a lesser priority to those who had booked directly. We had booked a KIng size room which was very very small loft space room 14 with a sloping roof along one side (Not for tall people) It had one window that had a broken roman blind which then placed us in perpetual darkness as it could not be raised. Despite reporting this shortly after arrival it was met with indifference and it was made clear that nothing would be done to remedy this during our stay. When I queried how management had not been aware of this as housekeeping staff would have certainly known before our arrival that you were unable to get any natural light from the window or a view. I was swiftly told that nothing could be done as all rooms were fully booked that week. No one from maintenance came. So we spent our whole stay trying to roll the blind up and wedge it at the sash window to get some light and air. The rooms would do better using other property services businesses that operate on Royal William Yard to deal with their arrivals, and contact and for advice. I have had much better customer service in the past when renting numerous different apartments at The Yard over the years from other providers.
Brilliant location in the historical Royal William yard. Staff in Bistrot Pierre who run the property were extremely friendly and helpful.
A few snagging issues like the broken blind but nothing major
Parcheggio gratuito Consigliatissimo
Nulla
We’ve stayed at Admiral’s House about half a dozen times now. Each time the room has been excellent; comfy bed, premium toiletries and spotlessly clean. It’s a great location just to spend time in Royal William Yard. The food in the Bistro is always good too.
Period decor. Historic surroundings. Easy parking. Nearby fast chargers. Pleasant restaurant.
I am 82. I was allocated a room on the second floor, no lift. It also faced away from the delightful square - all in all I guess it was the worst room in the hotel. I'm not sure why this one was allocated to me, as I had booked very, very far in advance. But the room's facilities, size etc. were absolutely fine.
Beautiful location, quiet, comfortable, historic, loved to cookies and the basket of goodies with price list. Really well thought out for a comfortable stay.
Nothing
Bellissima stanza pulita e attenzione per i dettagli
Location, breakfast ,
Room a little hot - no Ac - even with a fan Parking easy to after 4 pm

Location,period charm
Poor cleaning on bathroom door
Lovely comfortable clean room with tasteful decor & comfortable bed. Nice products in bathroom. Cookies a nice touch. Nice building with character - good renovation. Appreciated the fan!
Location Lovely rooms Staff were great
Nothing to add here
Beautiful room in a lovely location. Very clean. Breakfast was really nice and the staff were really friendly. There is a bus stop just before you enter Royal William yard. Handy for getting into the city centre. Some lovely restaurants around the area and coffee shops.
Breakfast was very good and quite a choice. Felt sorry for the chef who had a lot of meals to Prepare on his own.
In the extreme heat the top floor rooms should not be available and people booked into them should be offered the opportunity to delay their visit.
Location
Breakfast service very slow & orders arrived incorrect
Very well kept, lovely room and amenities. Loved the coffee and cookie in room as well as the option to have more for a cost. Amazing location.
It was boiling. Although a fan was in the room the windows dont open - probably a silly government rule to save us all from ourselves. Because it wouldn't open the fan just pushed hot air about.
It’s position and how quiet it was Good size room Very comfortable bed Great bathroom
It was very very hot but it’s an old building and they had good fans in the room
Everything!
Excellent

Location was excellent and restaurant very good , lovely breakfast and helpful staff
We had an artic room which did not have air con , a fan was provided but still very hot in mid July
Restaurant staff at breakfast were really good. The evening bar staff not so much, actually quite curt and seemed bothered to have to serve you.
It is very difficult to find; no signage that identifies it from the street. Google Maps bombed out. I ended up walking the streets and asking where to find it. Parking was also a hassle.
It was beautiful and had all things we needed on site
We could not have early breakfast as we had to leave early for Navy passing out parade !
Fabulous location, huge comfortable room within a historical building.
All good
The location of Admirals House within the Royal William Yard complex is superb. The small rear garden area was a welcome surprise during a heatwave in July.
The hotel does not have staff on site. We did not encounter any problems on this occasion but it is something I would take into consideration for any future bookings.
Room was lovely, spacious and bright. We had everything we needed and wanted. Parking was easy. Staff were all outstanding.
Nothing
Beautiful building. Comfortable room. Say check in and check out. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Great to have breakfast in Bistrot Pierre. Great location for walks and good views I was there in 1st Sunday of the month so was able to enjoy the food and craft market in the square
The only issue is that the room didn’t have water as promised and the toilet roll was cheap and thin.
lovely place
bed was small
Heritage building, beautifully decorated, so comfortable. Excellent breakfast . The day we stayed there was a market in the square next door.
Great location.Very helpful and friendly staff. A tasty and well presented breakfast
La camera, posizionata all’ultimo piano, era senza condizionatore e quindi estremamente calda e afosa.
Perfect
Nothing
It’s a beautiful house in a beautiful location steeped in history. The staff were very pleasant.
The idea is admirable but the reality is far from ideal, a poorly constructed room within a room with poor lighting, poor plumbing and a fan so loud you need earplugs, the room was unbearably hot with just a domestic fan it desperately needs air conditioning. The wooden shutters are a nice period feature but have to be fully shut for any privacy and when shut you may as well be in a box.
Good location, spacious room
Room smelt musty
Lovely hotel
The bed room at the front of the building was huge , very “regal” in keeping with the building. Historic building and may two rooms that week (different bookings) illustrate the uniqueness of each room. Little touches like cookies and cooling fan very welcome.
Nothing
Location
The location is amazing. Excellent value for money. Wishes we could have stayed longer.
Great location.
For the price the room was poor . As you would expect with an old building no air con but a small machine was provided. You couldn’t open windows. Bathroom facilities poor the washbasin was only in the toilet .
Cracking stay, really clean in a great location with great amenities.
Nothing…
Location was great with plenty of things to do in walking distance. A bit further from the City Center than I had planned but taxis were easy to obtain.
I would suggest adding a curtain or blind between the two rooms to improve the separation. Lights or tv from one room to the other make it seem smaller than it really is.
The odour in room 10 was unbearable . The room shouldn’t be rented out until the problem is sorted.
Breakfast and location
It was very hot in the top of the house.
Fijne kamer, mooie locatie, leuk ontbijt, goede douche
Gordijn ging niet open.
What an amazing building to stay in. Spacious and super clean. Windows looked out onto a lawn. Morning sun through the windows. Check in was quick and easy at the nearby hotel. Had dinner and breakfast here. Both good. Lovely neighbourhood to wander around.
Nothing.
Super chambre
Petit déjeuner très décevant !
Quiet. Location and breakfast were all excellent
Nothing was missing.
Admiral”s House is a wonderful place to stay to explore Plymouth. The location of Royal William Yard is stunning. The included breakfast was delicious.
Lovely room in a beautiful building with lots of character. The room was super clean and had crisp bed linen. The bed was also very comfortable. The room had a radio and TV and a selection of snacks and drinks for guests to purchase. The location of the property, with free parking, makes it easy to access bars and restaurants on Royal William Dockyard.
Nothing
Checkin was across the green in the restaurant which for some maybe slightly confusing. The hotel has been very well restored and quite large. We had to get the WiFi working and the password was wrong after we did. Minimum of furniture but clean.
To be really picky, there were no hooks in the bathroom!
Lovely place to stay , staff very welcoming , food in restaurant very nice

It was a comfortable room and in a great location. Wonderful views a short walk away.
The bathroom fan was noisy.
Great location for catching the ferry the next morning. Nice room in safe & quiet area.
Breakfast was across the green. All waitress service which was a bit annoying - less choice & we had to wait to receive cereal at the same time as the small portion of hot food. Body wash in the shower was empty.
Nice room and very nice staff
Window only opened a TINY amount, room was hot and only had one fan. They had no extras to give, despite the heat. Breakfast room was way understaffed. Had to wait far to long shower does not drain, as they have OLD pipes. Who wants to stand in a shower full of water
Location to the sea
Top floor was hot
Excellent location and helpful staff in the restaurant for check-in, that does a fabulous breakfast. Let down by wi-fi not working, top-floor rooms feeling a little small and definitely lack ventilation. Ground floor rooms are much nicer. Good location in a quiet area with lots of nearby restaurants and nice walks.
Poor wi-fi. Poor ventilation. Too hot. Top floor rooms are a little cramped.
Setting is great with access to the Royal William Yard amenities, good breakfast and easy access to the surrounding areas. A craft & food market is also held once a month on the lawn in front of Admirals House. EV charging points can be found locally (100kw charger at the Cremyll car park - 2 min drive)
The location. In a relatively quiet area. That the hotel building had charm and history. Parking was always available.
The location is superb.
Slow service in the bar area
The area
The fact there was a band playing in the garden outside the room. The room was noisy from the other rooms in the block.
Very comfortable room, a bit hot but every effort made to make stay as good as possible, nice touches
Sun streaming through windows , which were sash & couldn’t open very much
