Rooms at Penarth Marina

Clean, modern, spacious and different.

We were told we could have breakfast in the duck and goose next door but they don’t serve breakfast on Friday mornings apparently, only wknds. The other place nearby was closed the dates we were there.

Room was immaculate. Location on the marina was stunning; waking up on the water with visiting swan was magical! Staff were friendly and helpful. Felt safe. Can't wait to return!!

The room is beautiful compact and perfect The lady who checked us in was lovely, really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The view is amazing and had lots of visits from the swans

Unfortunately whilst we were staying at the marina, they were working on the landslide that had happened. They drilled from 9am to 3/4pm everyday. It did spoil it a little. Room is very hot even with the fan on, it definitely needs air con.

Location is superb. Aside from being on a delightful small marina, it's an easy and interesting walk into Cardiff via Cardiff Bay where the main nightlife and bars/restaurants are. The sun setting over the marina while sat on the deck was beautiful. There's a pub right on the marina that serves great food and local shops are within easy distance.

One or two spiders needed coaxing out, but really didn't bother me.

Fabulous accommodation literally on the marina! Lovely surprise when we arrived. Very clean with everything we needed. Free parking and friendly staff.

This place is perfect! Beautiful inside with huge bathroom and everything you need for a lovely stay. Fun to be floating on the marina too . Loads to do close by and a convenient restaurant right next door. Cute balcony outside too 👌

Beautiful and generally peaceful location (occasional movement of boats/people/swans! around the marina) Comfortable room and bed with well fitted bathroom. Rooms are tethered to the jetties so just gently rock occasionally. Twin room otherwise identical to double and situated side by side. Great breakfast at the Galley just along the road (walk-in and gets busy) and excellent meals at The Pilot (short walk up the hill) - booking recommended. Can walk up over the hill into Penarth but can also drive and park easily - nice town with plenty of great eating spots and a nice seafront/pier/cliff top walks. Can also walk to Cardiff Bay across the barrage or short walk to catch the train into central Cardiff from Cogan station instead (line also goes to Barry Island in the other direction)

Car parking was a distance away though the 20 mins drop off point worked well to unload/load Was quite warm in the room even with the supplied fan even though the weather had cooled slightly (no roof vents in rooms) but opening the toilet window/deck doors led to a nice breeze coming through.

We didn't have breakfast

We were very surprised that the room was actually a floating room on a raft. It was very hot inside but by leaving the sliding doors open and fan on it cooled down quite quickly.

Beautiful rooms, fun to stay in and loved sitting on the decking and feeding the swans who came knocking. Absolute luxury for the price of a city centre room.

Car parking. A handrail in the shower would help too.

Having lived in the Marina for many years it was great to return. Still an amazing location. The accomodation was clean and modern . It was quiet and relaxing and lovely to sit on the veranda with the swans and ducks coming to say hello.. Boat owners were friendly and welcoming. Staff second to none. Places to eat and drink nearby. Great benefit was the free parking and car then not needed as public transport to Penarth Pier, Penarth town Cardiff Bay and the City stops outside the Marina office. Would recommend this accommodation and will return when next in the area.

It was comfortable and clean and we loved the little terrace

The only problem was that the mini fridge was not functioning properly and owing to the need to store some medical items that was essential I would like to say that the staff were very concerned and helpful and resolved the situation with great consideration

sehr schöne Unterkunft in der Marina mit groszügigem Bad. Ist mal etwas anderes als klassische Hotelzimmer. Sehr chic, sehr sauber und schöne nutzbare Terrasse.

Wenig Platz für Koffer im Zimmer (dafür aber ein groszügiges Bad). Der Kühlschrank hat nur sehr wenig gekühlt, was an den heißen Tagen unpraktisch war. Eine freie Lücke auf dem angegebenen Parkplatz zu finden war eine Glücksache, da (aufgrund von Bauarbeiten) nur sehr wenige Parkplätze zur Verfügung standen.

Probably the only slights nags were pod 1 , the pod we were in, directly faced other pods so if they had been occupied, we might have been overlooked on our balcony are by the occupants of the pods opposite. Secondly the hot water was nice and hot but the shower was under powered in terms of pressure. These comments are in no way complaints though.

location was great, I would revisit. I only stayed 2 nites so was unable to take advantage of the breakfast. The room was clean and well catered.

My only complaint which i did not report was the Fridge Freezer did not work and the Fridge could have been colder.

We had a beautiful pod which was towards the back walkway and was lovely and quiet ,with lovely views across the marina. The pod was very clean and extremely comfortable,with plenty of tea ,coffee and milk . Elle was lovely ,friendly and very helpful. We had breakfast at The Goose on the Loose which was very good and the staff were lovely.. All in all we had a fabulous time and would book to stay again.

There are just a couple of points that could be improve the stay ,that is the shower water pressure wasnt very good. Also although there were fans they didn't do much to ease the temperature inside the pod and we did leave the door open overnight but still found it very hot.

Location of our pod was perfect 😁 very private and easy access to the back walkway out of the marina. The bed was comfy and the place was clean. Our house keeper Elle was lovely.... really helpful 😀 would stay again....in the same pod .

The fridge in the cupboard was getting to hot! Not enough ventilation around it. With the pod not having Aircon it was over heating. The fridge temperature doesn't get cold enough either. There isn't enough storage for clothes.

A fantastic place for a peaceful reset. The room was modern, spacious, spotless and very comfortable, with a lovely marina outlook that made it easy to relax. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the water was the highlight of the stay. The location is excellent, with great walks around the marina and plenty of places to eat and drink within a few minutes. It felt calm, safe and was exactly what I was looking for.

Very little to fault. Lack of fans/air conditioning meant the room became very hot at night.

Great location very relaxing when we arrived at 5 o'clock.

Woken up at 9 by people using the Sauna and cold dip. Very close proximity to it and they were very loud.

The location of the pods were spectacular. When we walked into the pod it was beautiful. It was lovely to sit on the chairs on the portch area and enjoy the ambience of the marina. The bed was soft and very comfortable. Elle was very welcoming and friendly. Goose on the loose restaurant and bar was very good value for money and a bonus of 10% off for staying in the pod.

It was very bad luck that our stay coincidenced with the hottest day of the year. The pod had no airflow and it was unbearable when trying to go to sleep. There was a portable fan (which we were greatful for) but it was only moving around the warm air.

Wow this place is wonderful! Private ‘pod’ on the water. Big room with a huge comfy bed with big bathroom and separate toilet. Huge smart TV on wall, patio with chairs right over the water. Tea, coffee, biscuits, fridge, hairdryer, fan, clock/radio. I was here for work so couldn’t take in the beautiful view as long as I’d have liked to but will be back for a holiday. The young lady who showed me in was lovely too. Absolutely perfect stay.

The coffee was bad but with everything else so perfect who cares!

Very unique property, definitely one of the best rooms and locations we stayed, without any discounts in comfort. The staff was extremely helpful as well.

Location amazing, too lie on a big comfy bed look out and see water what a view! I slept really well, so quiet. Went to the Goose for breakfast 10/10 for service and food. Very very friendly staff in the Goose and also the marina staff are amazing

We had Breakfast at Goose on the Loose which was pleasant. The Staff there are amazing We also had an evening meal here too. Lovely setting and we sat in the jetty bar below after dinner .

I think as there was an event in Cardiff the price was over double what it usually is. For nearly £300 a night, It would have been nice to have some extras maybe a bottle of fizz and 2 glasses, or a welcome note would be a nice touch. Also some decent coffee as the sachets weren't that nice unfortunately. It appears from the welcome pack there may have been coffee machines at some point. Beds were amazingly comfy, it was finished to a high spec and very clean. For us it was just the price ,but everyone hikes them up for an event. Ordinarily , they seem very reasonable. Would recommend a stay here 👌

All was wonderful except the exceptionally hot weather which made the room very hot despite open windows and fan. Staff were really good and restaurants and walks nearby were fantastic.

I really can’t fault anything, everything was perfect and well worth the money. I usually stay in a well known chain of hotels but this time I thought I’d try something a little different and I’m so glad I did. Lisa who looks after the rooms is amazing as well.

Being ‘afloat’ on the marina and amongst the boats was ‘quirky’ and very different. The unit was nice and quiet, incredibly clean, well equipped and the bed very comfy. Close by free parking and nicely away but close to the hustle and bustle of Cardiff Bay was ideal for us.

Lisa on reception was amazing and made us feel very welcome. Pod was fabulous with everything we needed. It was a hot day but the pod had a fan and was lovely to sit on the decking in the great weather.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The staff were absolutely excellent. No expense spared. Very helpful. The bar on the marina was absolutely fantastic. Best barman I've ever had the pleasure to meet and the chef is extremely talented

Stunning floating pod in a beautiful marina. Ell had prepared the room perfectly and thoughtfully. The swans and signets came to say hello and were literally outside our door! We will definitely return.

Bit tricky to find and to park at first

Excellent location in the marina and close to places to eat. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The floating accommodation pod was spacious with nice bathroom facilities, a separate wc very large bed and waterside balcony.

The only criticism is that the water pressure to the pod is a bit low.

Emplacement atypique, posé sur l'eau comme un yacht confortable dans la marina. Calme absolu. Parking gratuit à proximité immédiate. Un bon restaurant juste à côté pour dîner.

Manque le petit déjeuner, et le bar à côté ouvre tard : 9h00.
