We had a wonderful stay at this hotel .The staff were excellent, the food was delicious, and the stay was very comfortable. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. Their hospitality exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.

The room I was allocated was located next to the entry, called ‘Queen’ - surely a joke! 1. It was dank and mouldy, 2. The bed felt damp, 3. There was no natural light (there was a wall behind the window), 4. There was one tired towel (no hand towel or bath mat), 5. The shower was not clean. It was such a dismal room that we could not stay. The photos and advertising on Booking.com was promising - garden views from every room and photos showed bright fresh rooms. Nothing could have been further from our experience. I suggest to any others who may stay here to check the room before you pay, we didn’t and a big mistake.I spoke to the owner who prom

The place was certainly not as expected. Grubby damp smelling rooms, mouldy smelling bathroom, we were unable to stay there. Yes, we were not charged the cancellation fee, but NO the promised refund has not happened. Very disappointed. False advertising. 0L

The man at reception was incredibly sweet and helpful. I really appreciated his hospitality and kindness. The room had everything we needed, nice shower with hot water and in a great location in Ella. I 100% recommend this hotel!

Based on the double queen room (room 2 - downstairs): -Room had no windows, felt very isolating -Bathroom was fairy outdated, shower drain kept clogging causing the floor to flood a bit.

Il proprietario e il personale che ci ha accolto è molto disponibile, ci hanno aiutato a pianificare i giorni restanti di viaggio e a trovare un driver. La colazione è completa per un prezzo onesto, con frutta, omelette, toast e caffè o te.

Umidità nella stanza siccome era al piano terreno e probabilmente arrivava poco sole.

La villa nella realtà è molto trascurata e ha necessità di grandi opere di manutenzione. Siamo arrivati e dopo poco è andata via la corrente.a zona comune è molto spoglia e non accogliente. Si salgono le scale in cemento e si arriva al piano delle camere. La camera era datata, prese vecchie, sguarnita. Un solo asciugamano sgualcito. Completamente umido tutto. Nel bagno con il tetto in legno perlinato pioveva dal tetto. Si percepiva umido e si vedeva umido e macchie nel muro. Non c’era neppure la tenda della doccia e il bagno era sporco ovunque. Il tutto senza luce(fortuna siamo arrivati di giorno) Terribile

Service very professional but staff was so Kind and genuinely concerned...The Manager Upul went out his way to help me with valuable information about places I hadn't known.Also the young lady assistant was always inquiring if i was comfortable. Staff was particular in reccomending reasonable hotels and shops for souvenirs etc.and even phoned places on behalf of me ...I will definitely visit with family and friends...Keep it up and best wishes..

The room was not clean in the beginning, but we talked to Upul and he let everything get cleaned. The room 01 is a little bit small, the other rooms are much nicer

We stayed 3 days in Ceylon house. You pay the total payment upfront- unusual for Sri Lanka. The room under the roof was very hot, lots of mould everywhere, lizards, no room cleaning or bins emptying during our stay. Construction site next to the hotel. It’s cheap and centrally located but I would not stay there again.

Prima bed, onze was heel snel gedaan. Mega vriendelijk personeel.

Ligt naast een bouwput. Badkamer was niet fijn, er liepen veel mieren en alles werd nat. Ook zitten er tussen alle deuren grote kieren.

Drie nachtjes geslapen. Niet echt luxe maar wel alles wat je nodig hebt. Er is geen airco maar wel chill room en alles echt om de hoek

We stayed in the room in the ground floor, there is a wall in front of the window. No views. Bathroom has a lot of black mold, needs a deep cleaning.

De ligging is fantastisch, net buiten de hoofdstraat, maar dichtbij genoeg om te kunnen lopen. Naast het huis zit een zeer goed restaurant met in de avond gezellige muziek. Hier heb je binnen geen last van. De familiekamer is zeer ruim, met een eigen verdieping met aparte bedden voor de kinderen. De badkamer is voorzien van een goede douche met warm water.

De gordijnen waren licht, dus je hebt vroeg licht in je kamer.

El trato del personal fue genial. Muy atentos y dispuestos a ayudarnos y a hacer agradable nuestra estancia en todo momento. La habitación que cogimos tenía una ventana pequeña y apenas entraba luz, y cuando una con balcón quedó libre nos la cambiaron sin ningún costa adicional. Las habitaciones son grandes y cómodas, así como también lo son las camas. La que tiene balcón es más bonita, eso sí. En general, buena relación calidad-precio, personal amable y buena ubicación, así que recomiendo el sitio😊

We had a wonderful stay at Ceylon House by Sunrise in Ella! The room was beautiful—spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed with a really cute balcony. What made our experience truly special were the incredibly kind and welcoming hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home. Everything was perfect from start to finish—highly recommended!

Our host Upul was very welcoming and helped with every request. He was very kind and friendly. Perfect location. Quick walk into town and a great place to start hikes as well.

The location of property is the best thing about it. Close to all the major attractions and things are easily accessible like transportation , supermarkets, Railway station etc.

The room in which we stayed was not very clean and maintained. It was kind of okish.

This property needs renovations, everything in this room is outdated, especially the bathroom. Hot water ran out in the middle of my shower.

Not sure where to start , there were too many things. Firstly it’s so humid that all your clothing gets wet , you can’t really sleep because all the bed sheets are wet too. The room and bathroom were falling apart and full of mould. The place is so run down I would not recommend staying here .

Upul, der Manager war sehr freundlich und flexibel, wir durften nach dem Check-Out um 11 Uhr mit dem Gepäck noch in der gemütlichen Lobby warten bis unser Safari Jeep uns abgeholt hat.

Sehr große und schöne Zimmer mit sehr gutem Bad (auch wenn es nachts kein warmes Wasser mehr gab). Eine einladende Lobby, sehr geschmackvoll und - ganz außergewöhnlich - einem nistenden Schwalbenpärchen. Das beste Frühstück das wir in Sri Lanka bekommen haben und außergewöhnlich reichhaltig. Wir bekamen so viel nach bis unsere drei erwachsenen Jungs wirklich satt waren. Das Dhal, das Kokossamba und das Spiegelei waren wirklich perfekt abgeschmeckt und gewürzt. Wir sind am Morgen um Sechs zum Little Adam's Peak gelaufen, danach runter auf einem kaum beschilderten Trampelpfad zur Brücke, beides großartige Ausflugs ziele. Danach gab es dieses perfekte Frühstück. Der Manager, Cepul, war auch außerordentlich freundlich, zugewandt und bemüht. Also ein rundherum gelungener Aufenthalt. Gerne auch für mehrere Nächte wenn man denn länger in Ella bleiben kann.

Bei Booking.com wird der "Normalpreis" mit 225€ (eine Nacht 5 Personen) angegeben, auh den werden dann 65%(!) Rabatt gegeben, bleiben 90€ Realpreis. Solche "Rabatte" werden immer gegeben, manchmal kostet eine Nacht nur 60€. Das alles halte ich für unlauter, habe ich sonst in Sri Lanka auch nicht erlebt, aber ein Normalpreis von 60bis90€ ist für zwei schöne Räume für fünf Personen ok.

It was placed in a great spot, within walking distance to the Main Street and close to Little Adams Peek. The manager Upul was very kind and helpful.

Could do with having mosquito nets around the bed. My daughter got bitten a few times.

Mr. Uppal was very helpful and accomodated all our requests and even with 3 kids making some noise he was very understanding and allowed us the space and time we needed.

L'emplacement et le prix. Lit confortable.

La chambre est petite, située en sous-sol et humide. On voit que le logeur met de la bonne volonté pour que tout soit le mieux possible et la propreté des lieux est acceptable. Vu le prix, on accepte que le confort soit sommaire. Je ne pardonne pas l'état des oreillers qui étaient moisis : impossible que cela passe inaperçu lorsque l'on change les taies. Pas de sous-taies et des couvertures avec une odeur très désagréable (genre naphtaline). Le verre de la salle de bains était sale.

Man hat sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben, damit wir einen schönen Aufenthalt hatten. Das Frühstück war vielfältig und es gab jeden Tag eine andere Spezialität aus Sri Lankas Küche. Durch Upul haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, der uns auch bei der TukTuk Suche geholfen hat. Regenschirme hat er ohne zu fragen bereitgestellt. Besonders schön fanden wir die obere Etage die mit Sitzsäcken ausgestattet war. Durch den vielen Regen haben wir uns dort aufgehalten. Wir haben auch noch um eine Nacht verlängert.

Leider hatten wir das Pech und das einzige Badezimmer mit Schimmel erwischt. Das bleibt bei der Luftfeuchtigkeit aber nicht aus.

Schönes Zimmer und gut gelegen. Ich war 2 Nächte dort und würde es wieder buchen.

Vi havde et vidunderligt ophold på dette hotel i Ella og kan varmt anbefale det til alle, der besøger området. Upul, manden der driver hotellet, er utroligt venlig, hjælpsom og imødekommende. Han sørgede for, at vi følte os som hjemme og var altid klar med gode råd om, hvad vi skulle se og gøre i Ella. Morgenmaden var super lækker - varieret sri lankanske specialiteter. Maden var både frisk og velsmagende, og vi fik mulighed for at prøve lokale specialiteter, som vi ikke havde smagt andre steder. Placeringen af hotellet er også ideel. Det ligger tæt på Ella centrum, og vi kunne nemt gå til både Little Adam’s Peak og 9 Arches Bridge, som er must-see steder i området. Det gjorde vores ophold både bekvemt og oplevelsesrigt. Vi var så glade for vores ophold, at vi besluttede at blive to ekstra dage. Alt i alt et fantastisk sted med en utrolig vært – vi kommer helt sikkert tilbage, næste gang vi er i Ella!

Skvělá lokalita, výborné snídaně, moc milý personál. Úklid byl na Srí Lanské poměry v pohodě.

Bohužel na nás vyšel pokoj s oknem do "kuchyně" v přízemí, kde bylo obrovské vlhko a byly vlhké i polštáře například díky tomu. Neměli jsme tedy možnost ani vyvětrat pořádně a byla v pokoji tma.

The location is good and the shower had good hot water. That’s where the positives end.

Extremely disappointed. The room was not particularly clean. Dirt on the floor, build up of grime in the grout. Lots of mould in the bathroom. Mould on the pillows. Blanket and room smelled super funky. If I hadn’t been so tired when I arrived, I would have stayed elsewhere. Overpriced for what is on offer and not particularly clean.

Our host Pul was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast each morning was delicious and we got to experience the Sri Lankan breakfast. Location wise was great - a very short walk to the centre of town.

Our room was at the front and was a little noisy. Also had to ask to turn the hot water on.

Przemiły gospodarz(Upul), który bardzo dbał o nas, bardzo dobre śniadanie (aczkolwiek całkiem wysoka jak na Sri Lankę cena - 2000 rupii za osobę), dobra lokalizacja, zapewniająca spokój, ale do centrum miejscowości można dojść w ok 10-12 minut

Zdjęcia nie pokrywają się z rzeczywistością, negatywnie zaskoczył nas wszechobecny grzyb(!!!) na suficie zarówno w pokoju jak i w łazience(w łazience poziom pleśni niewiarygodny...!!!!!), ponadto, mimo zdjęć nie było zasłonki w łazience
