Very central to our travels

It is a tired building and was thankful we only booked one night. Contact with host was non existent and we arrived well within check in time. Room spacious but in need of refinement and servicing.

Super close to the event we were going to and had shops around so wasn’t too out of the way as we expected.

Our room was under the stairs so was quite loud when other guests were walking up and down early hours of the morning.

There was a dirty glass in our room. Cobwebs on ceilings. No staff available for 30 minutes when we arrived. Then upon leaving we were left the card machine to pay but staff came after 10 mins.

It was hard to find anyone to ask about anything. We ended up asking other guests! The masceration toilet was noisy, so we couldn't flush it at night. There was only one pillow each on the bed. (which was odd on such a big bed ) It's usual to get two pillows. Breakfast was very tasty and adequate, but lacking any fruit choice, and there were no hash browns. ( hubby's favourite)

Barely greeted, given key and shown room. No information other than breakfast was 8-9. No towels in room. Phone number in booklet didn't work so I knocked on door of what I assumed was the 'staff's room'. An elderly gentleman said he'd just had a stroke and wasn't dealing with things currently. I felt bad. He gave me some towels. The lamps kept flickering, no bulb in hall light, room was noisy from constant traffic, it was also very hot and no fan. No one to talk to. Breakfast was nice and lady was friendly. I asked if there was anywhere to sit outside or walk around (as it was advertised as having 4 acres with stream) but there was just a smoking table out front and a seat out back with nowhere to go and elevated from grass and stream

Good location. Main road nearby but you wouldn’t have known that. Lots of parking. Good access to the coast and major conurbations in the area. Staff friendly, kind and helpful. Good choice for breakfast. Room clean and tidy. Big bed. Tea & coffee. Also a fridge which is useful to keep drinks cool. Pub with good food (Golden Mile) worth a visit. We would have been very happy to stay longer.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Room was very clean and had tea and coffee facilities, microwave, fridge and TV. Soft towels and toiletries provided. Excellent full English breakfast and a choice of cereals, selection of different breads for toast and orange juice, tea and coffee. Good bus service to Bridgend, around the coast , Cardiff and Swansea.

We arrived much later than expected but when I tried to phone to let the guesthouse know, the stated phone number was unobtainable! There was no-one on reception - just a bell to ring. There was a rough note on the table showing our booking and room numbers. After several ring attempts someone appeared - if they hadn't we would not have found our rooms since access was elsewhere. One of the rooms we booked had a bath and shower (and cost more) but neither room had a bath - both just had showers. Room 3 occupant thought the shower was dirty. She could not make the kettle work, nor the plug in the wash basin.

Not much ,the young lady serving breakfast was very friendly and thats it.

Clearly ,for the money they are miles off competition nesrby !! Room dirty ,cobwebs and missing lampshade and cracks in wall,bath rusty. Side drawer had packet of old sweets that had melted in heat just no where near the rating its given itself should be 3star ,no attention to detail at all.

Lovely family-run converted farmhouse in extensive grounds with river. Friendly daft dog. Super breakfast. Centre of Ewenny village with good choice of places to eat within 10 minutes drive (easily the cheapest is Wetherspoons in Bridgend). Lovely coastline, wild hills, beaches, fossils and antiquity all close by. Ewenny Priory especially fascinating.

Difficult to find food nearby after 8pm. Reasonable choice in Bridgend though - but a town in a sorry state unfortunately. They were a bit difficult to contact. Best option was the mobile number.

Very convenient for the beach and lovely area. Staff were very friendly and helpful, although could be awkward to find someone at certain times of the day. Room was clean, comfortable and cool, which was very welcome during a heatwave. Super shower. Bed was comfy. Able to use netflix and other streaming channels which was great. Also had mini fridge which was a bonus plus a microwave although didn't use it. Lovely breakfast and good selection.

Certain times of day it could be hard to get hold of anyone. Needed an extra pillow each in the room.

Very happy with the location having very good access to the coast which was well worth the long drive down from Derbyshire. We were also able to find good places near by for evening meals. We will be coming back soon.

Don't think that there was any that could have bean done better. Quiet and good location with plenty of interesting historical things to visit as well as great costal scenery giving a perfect balance to our stay.

I stayed at this hotel last week and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The location was beautiful and very convenient. The breakfast was delicious, and the facilities were complete and well-maintained. Overall, everything was excellent, and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Communication was an issue re booking. No one answering phones or emails.

There was a mix up of room when we first arrived and was shown to the wrong room which was not ready. The room we were in had dust on the door frames the bed end and bathroom mirror light, the light in the bathroom did not work and there was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. On the first morning we were informed that breakfast was from 8-8am but no member of staff was there until 08.15am. I have stayed there before 4yrs ago and it would appear that it is not as good.

I had a lovely welcome from Jodie. The room was super clean. A flexible early breakfast of cereal was gratefully received.

The room and finish were a little tired, eg the tv cable needs tidying. There was a little too much furniture in the room.

Price was exceptional for size and facilities of room. The bed was huge and loads of pillows and cushions. Desk and chair for office work if needed , lovely comfy relaxing chair added to the ambience of room. Plenty of cupboard space, hanging space. Bathroom was roomy with walk in shower with slip mat. Every thing was spotless.

Nothing at all. It was sheer bliss, very peaceful surrounding green fields and very little traffic noise. It was sheer heaven.

I arrived at 4;30 to be told by another guest (I knew) my key was in the door. I didn’t see a single member of staff! The bathrooms as really dated, the bed is rock solid and the pillows, we’ll bring your own! For over £100 a night I’d expect better. Or stay at the premier inn in Bridgend!

The location was okay, not too far from the local beach and some decent places to eat by car, the young lady that was dealing with us was very friendly and helpful.

From what we saw the place is either for sale or just been sold so I think the place could do with a freshen up decoration wise, way too much furniture in the room we stayed in but probably due to trying to cater for many markets, we also heard something scurrying around either in the walls or the ceiling void which was quite off putting.

Staff were brilliant, couldn’t do enough for us at breakfast. Breakfast was lovely, room was ready early

Was cold when we got back to the room and didn’t know how to put the heating up, toilet very noisy.

Rooms were larger than anticipated and comfortable, well equipped - even a fridge. One of our party is less mobile and they arranged for him to take a ground floor room for ease. It is a Family run guest house and ideas for food and drink locally were easily forthcoming. Breakfast was ample and well presented. When we arrived back after a meal out on the Saturday evening the owner stayed chatting with us explaining the area, sports facilities and developments in the towns' rejuvenation. Great way to learn about what the location has to offer and we appreciated his time. The location, just over a mile from the centre of Bridgend on the edge of a small village (which has a great local shop by the way), means its quiet so if you wanted a city centre experience you did need a taxi in and out but taxi fare was under £10 for 3 of us.

I can't say that I disliked any aspect of the stay. Pillow was a mite soft but that's very much personal preference.

Nice area, local to the food festival we were attending, quiet and the staff were helpful and friendly.

The only thing is that the toilet/plumbing would make a very loud at random times. Particularly disturbing in the nights. Aside from this no issues

There was nobody there to greet us when we arrived at 4pm and had to knock on a door and wait. I realised there weren't any towels in our room and sent a message to the owner to ask for towels and we went out. When we came back in there still weren't any towels and we realised the TV didnt work in our room. I went downstairs and knocked again, the elderley man who answered the door said he had had a stroke and wouldnt be able to assist us and that his daughter was out.I sent another message and waited and then just before I went to bed spotted another person who seemed to work there and asked if he could help and he couldnt, said the TV lead had been stolen and we could move room if we wanted but my daughter had already got in bed at this point. Hospitality isn't just providing a bed, its being able to assist your guests if they need anything. Would have been nice to just chill and watch TV before bed but we weren't afforded the luxury. Might as well have booked a travellodge for the price.

Friendly greeting, explained breakfast arrangements, and when told I had to leave very early, I was told I could grab a quick self service breakfast. Room comfortable and warm.

Couldn't actually help myself too a self service breakfast as the door to the room was locked! No time, nor any particular wish, to try and rouse the staff, so went without.

I've been before, and it was as good as previous visits. They are great hosts. Have best breakfast, cooked really well. Very comfy, clean room. Very cosy during cold, wet days. They complied with my requests regarding allergies. Very helpful with directions to local amenities and tourist interests. 😇 beautiful Ogmore beach just down the road., very foggy. Will return, hopefully when the sun is there too.

I arrived earlier than expected. I couldn't find anyone to check in with. Can't think of anything else other than they had no control over the rain!🤭

Location near Bridgend

We booked 2 rooms but when we arrived we were told there was only one room available. We were then given access to a room which had not been made up which we cleaned and made up ourselves.

Staff friendly

Immaculate room, bed was huge and comfortable. Room not too hot or cold. Good facilities in room, mini fridge, microwave, kettle and tea and coffee provided. Large shower cubicle with plenty of hot water. Location was great, close enough to city for me but gorgeous rural surroundings. Didn't have breakfast so cant comment but the dining area looked cosy and well kept.

Nothing major but had been unable to speak to hosts prior to arrival to arrange an early check-in. Emailed twice, left a voicemail but no response. Phone number on app is not in service. Also requested room with a bath but allocated a shower, again no deal breaker, overall experience very positive.
