The Waterfront Studio Opito Bay

We had a lovely stay, with amazing views over the bay. We were looked after very well and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good, the room was clean and comfortable. It was just so peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.

Upon arriving at the Studio, we were delighted with the view overlooking Opito Bay. The studio is set with a lovely garden and sitting down for nibbles and a drink in the afternoon looking out over the Bay will be a happy memory for us. Alan, our host, is helpful and accommodating. Just ask! There are extra little items in the fridge and the breakfast was plenty for us- a loaf of bread, fruit, muesli, yoghurt and spreads. Although you can use the bbq to cook, we opted for ready meals and heated them up in the microwave. Worked super well. There is a nice little wall to a lookout and the beach is perfect for a dip if you’re so inclined. So glad we found this little gem.

Die Lage, die Unterkunft, die Natur und besonders Alan der Vermieter war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Man fühlte sich sofort wie zuhause.

War alles super!!

Die Lage war atemberaubend schön. Das Zimmer war liebevoll dekoriert und sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr gut und wir haben es träglich sehr genossen.

We loved it all and would happily have stayed longer. There was a bbq and a microwave to cook but a small indoor hob would help in cold or bad weather.

Der Aufenthalt im Waterfront Opito Bay war traumhaft!!! Hier wird rundum an ALLES gedacht! Angefangen beim tollen Frühstück, mit dem sehr leckeren Müsli ect. Dem herzlichen und jederzeit hilfsbereiten Besitzer Alain! Die ruhige Lage sowie die einmalige, herrlicher Aussicht auf die wunderschöne Bay! Wir können das B&B aus voller Überzeugung bestens weiter empfehlen und möchten uns bei Alain nochmals sehr herzlich für die schöne Zeit bedanken Heidi und Heinz

The view was amazing we had our own binoculars which is a must. Fantastic Birdlife. Track down to beach for hubby to swim. Amazing breakfast ..Provisions in fridge. Could sit here all day Flat easy distance from car to Studio.

The shower was slightly difficult as I have arthritis..

The scenic outlook was spectacular along with breakfast on the patio. The Studio was stylish and homely. The hosts greeted us and gave us some good local sightseeing advice.

Alan and lou were excellent hosts. Veiws across the bay are stunning and with a short walk down a short footpath your on the beach Ideal place to unwind looking over the bay. Although we didn't cook for ourselves the accommodation does come with weber BBQ with rings for pans, if we stayed longer probably make use of this.

The view and location was exceptional

The atmosphere and view were phenomenal. Soooo relaxing. The hosts were super respectful and friendly.

I didn't dislike it, but cooking was on a bbq outdoors. So of out was raining it was a bit inconvenient. However, with good weather it actually added to the experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a beautiful, secluded spot with a magnificent view. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The apartment is lovely and furnished with great attention to detail. It's definitely worth a visit if you appreciate peace and quiet and might enjoy hearing a kiwi or two at night.

The waterfront studio was one of the most scenic places we have stayed. The view is outstanding and the room is excellent. It was so good that we stayed in every night for dinner to enjoy the view and location. We were exceptionally well hosted and the room was great value with breakfast and cheeses provided. We would definitely return and recommend this for your next stay.

There is not a full kitchen or sink. However there is everything you need in place and this did not stop us cooking all our meals and having a great stay.

Loved staying here. Perfect spot for some well needed R&R, lovely view, swimming in the beautiful bay and not far from many other beautiful beaches to explore also a few minutes drive to Kerikeri township. Alan is a very helpful generous host. From the beautiful dalias & spotless room & bathroom to the amenities was all very appreciated. Lovely hearing kiwis at night. Highly recommend & will be my pick for next visit sometime in future. Thankyou both for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful, comfortable accommodation for two with a spectacular outlook in a beautiful and quiet location, and amazing hosting, make this one of the best accommodations we've ever enjoyed in NZ. This is a self-contained accommodation unit for two in a quiet location adjoining the host's house. The unit is new, beautifully furnished, well-appointed and very comfortable. The view overlooks Opito Bay from a height, and has a spectacular outlook into the wider Bay of Islands with outside dining and sun loungers. Alan is a generous and very thoughtful host who has created a wonderful guest experience full of detailed touches to make a comfortable, easy stay. There is a toaster, microwave and Weber BBQ, but it's worth noting is that the unit doesn't have full self-catering facilities: it lacks a hob, oven and kitchen sink. But Alan more than makes up for this - he does the washing-up, and provides a beautiful array of breakfast supplies every morning, including plenty of delicious fresh fruit. There's delightful complementary selection of cold drinks in the fridge on arrival, and an assortment of tasty snacks. It's absolutely outstanding! The location in Opito Bay is quiet, about 15 minutes from Kerikeri. There's a small network of beautiful trails through the bush around the end of the peninsula walkable from the unit, with a spectacular view at the lookout and a beautiful sheltered cove for swimming and snorkelling on the north side. The Kerikeri peninsula is a hotspot for kiwi, and we heard one close to the unit one night.

Perfect location, loved the little extras and the attention to detail

Instant relaxation as soon as you walk in!!! The room was beautiful, bright and vibrant and the flow to outside was amazing, the view pretty awesome too! The private access down to the beach through the bush is beautiful. Our host was very friendly and accommodating, the amenities were clean and the water pressure to die for!! Breakfast was so delicious and I loved that it was mainly organic.

My partner would have like a couch to relax and watch the cricket on but he’s really tall and doesn’t like laying in bed.
