Ananda Rest-Ella

We had a fantastic stay at Ananda Rest in Ella. The rooms were quiet, clean, and comfortable, with cozy beds and hot-water showers—everything we needed for a relaxing stay. A special mention goes to Mr. Anandha, whose hospitality was truly exceptional. He picked us up from Ella town at midnight and even prepared dinner for us when we arrived. We were incredibly touched by his kindness and warm welcome. Waking up to the sound of birds singing was such a beautiful experience. The food was top-notch, and the whole place genuinely felt like home. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend Ananda Rest to anyone visiting Ella!

The food was absolutely excellent and delicious—a real highlight of the stay! The room itself was very comfortable and clean, providing a perfect place to relax. On top of that, the service was incredibly warm and friendly, making me feel right at home

Rien

Zeer nette kamer. Vriendelijke, enthousiaste gastheer. Heerlijke curry

Vrij ver van Ella centrum en eetgelegenheden. Tuktuk vereist

Mostly it is the place where the guest house is located and how clean the rooms are. Rooms are well organized with essentials and clean. Ananda and his wife were both helpful and always there to assist. Wifi, hotwater available.

Parking space has to be improved. There is no safe parking place. You have to struggle a bit to turn around your car.

Einfach alles!

Beautiful location, a bit further from the city center (a 7-minute drive and easily doable with a pickMe). Just like in the photos. Beautiful rooms on the first floor. Comfortable, huge bed, nice hot shower, and very friendly owners. Great breakfast.

Wi-Fi wasn't always good, and mobile connection (hutch) was poor. Loud prayer nearby at 5 am, so we needed tearplugs. And our bed creaked quite a bit.

So many good things about thiis property! The room was exactly as shown in the pictures — spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The hosts are incredibly kind and helpful, truly going above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. There are so many thoughtful little touches that make you feel at home. The manager’s father is an absolute sweetheart — always attentive, generous, and ready to help with anything you need. I recommend this place 300% if you’re looking to escape the noise of the city and immerse yourself in the jungle, surrounded by tea plantations. It’s truly the right address if you want peace and authenticity. All the main points of interest are not too far away. You just need to enjoy walking a bit — or you can easily call a tuk-tuk if you prefer.

The only negative point I would say was our 2nd night, there was a ceremony in the temple next door all night long. May be it was a specific religious night but apart from that everything was perfect!

Beautifully presented, friendly host who showed us some nearby sites. Best breakfast we had in SriLanka. Squeaky clean. Beautiful setting in tea plantations, near eucalypt forest.

Liked everything. It was a little further away from Ella than 1.6 miles stated in booking.

We are an older couple who enjoy the quiet location outside the city. The room is very good, great shower and hot water all the time

Amazing place everything so clean and and the hotel managers are incredibly kind. The breakfast was really very good. I recommend this hotel. Thank you so much for everything

Everything - the room, the location, the staff, the breakfast, the cleanliness, everything was perfect

Nothing to add here, really

The best stay in Sri Lanka by far. Ananda and his wife are very lovely people and were extremely hospitable. The room is very spacious and kept brilliantly. The breakfast was great and the surrounding scenery was beautiful. Thank you so much, we wish to stay again in the future!

Nothing

The nature around the accommodation, the hospitality of the owners, the facilities, breakfast - everything was great! But the kindness of the owners makes the experience even better.

/ Even though the property is located a bit outside of the centre of Ella, that wasn’t a problem for us because the location is so peaceful and great for restful sleep and great starting point for walk/hike. You will not regret it!

This place was beautiful and located in a lovely tea plantation. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The setting was incredible. What a lovely stay we had!!!

Very neat and clean rooms, hot water worked. No need for AC. Ananda was a very warm host. Good breakfast of fruits, salads, eggs, toast. His wife made eggless pancakes for us. We had dinner at the guest house one night which was good. Ananda took us for a morning walk. The location is quiet and peaceful amidst tree plantations and birds. We even saw hornbills. The location is correct on Gmap and 5 kms from the ella city, we had our own vehicle, so it wasn't a problem. For vegetarians, cafe rainbow was excellent with huge portions.Stayed for 2 nights.

Very nice Accodomation outside of Ella in the middle of a teafield. Very child-/ familyfriendly. She cooks the best Curry and Rotti so far in Sri lanka. They were really helpful and you felt like a part of her Family. Definitly recommend this host if you want to stay a bit more quiet and outside of the Touristhotspot in Ella. It's also closer from there to walk to Ellarock and the organic trea garden is also just right next to it.

Large super comfortable room with good hot water, stayed in the upstairs room with a great little balcony sitting area. Very accommodating and friendly hosts who cooked dinner for us last minute when it was too rainy to go out. Easy drive into Ella, located on a small tea plantation with lots of native birds coming into the garden. Fabulous breakfast. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

No

Ananda, The owner is a really nice and hoapitable. He was helping us throughout our stay. The breakfast was really delicious. The location is a very calm and quite place. Rooms and the bathrooms are clean and very spacious. Highly recommended for someone who is looking for a peaceful atmosphere

Nothing really

Very nice staff.

The cutest, most caring/kind couple took care of us. Made sure we felt comfortable. You can really tell they have a heart for hosting people. They even gave us a present to remember them by. It was genuinely so sweet of them. I also have to say that my whole family is still talking about the breakfast we ate. It was that tasty and the presentation was great. Def recommend!

Nothing.

I recently stayed at Ananda Rest Ella, and it was an incredible experience. The surroundings are breathtakingly natural, providing a serene and peaceful environment. The hospitality was top-notch—warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. The outdoor area was a highlight, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and relaxation. The overall ambiance was delightful, making it a superb choice for anyone looking for a tranquil getaway. Highly recommended...!

Nothing

Clean and comfortable rooms with excellent breakfast options. The staff provided great hospitality. The Ananda Rest offers a scenic view paired with cool, refreshing weather. You can wake up to the sound of parrots and various birds. You can walk to the ella rock.

Beautiful place surrounded by a tea plantation. Calm environment and excellent rooms. The host is very friendly and helpful.

The stay at Ananda Rest Ella was absolutely peaceful! I woke up to the sweet chirping of birds, and the breakfast was amazing. The weather was a bit chilly and misty, which made it feel extra special. I highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway!..😊
