Don Valley hotel Sheffield arena

Wasn't expecting much for the price, but wow. A 1 bed apartment for £43. Stayed in much oricwr hotels that are not even half as good. Got a nice warm welcome on checking form a lovely fella.

Coukd have done with a tea and coffee making provisions, but thst was sweetened by a free cup of coffee at breakfast. Breakfast in the cafe was only 6 quid, again like the room more than value for money.

As you walk in thru bar, its one of those places that everyone looks to see who's coming.. Not the cleanest of places, theres budget then theres this place.. Made me feel uneasy. Corridors to rooms grubby, again does not add to the comfortabilty of the hotel. Room, well shower/ bathroom is a 10 outta ten. The rest does not match up at all. Kettle..but nothing thar normally would be with it...like....tea, coffee, sugar, milk cups n spoons..but theres a hairdryer !!! Bed, cheap mattres, not comfy at all. Cobers n sheets could of done with an iron over or pressed. No bed side light either. 50 quid but im sure i was quoted 40, either way...over priced for what it is.. Theres a ibis budget, nearby or prem inn.. that i would recommend having stayed in both.. Give this place a big wide miss..

The manager was rude. Wrong room given. No tea and coffe in rooms just cups and a kettle, had to buy coffee downstairs. Noise was awful, people shouting and drinking till gone 4 in the morning so no sleep.

The room was immaculate I was a bit worried about attending due to some of the reviews but it was a lovely room. No noise no dirty bedding nothing bad about the room at all.

When we arrived we were greeted by some lady who was quite like straight to the point and not giving of good vibes. We were being stared at but soon as we were in the room we forgot they were there. It was just a bit intimidating

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my stay. The room is located above a pub, and the music from downstairs could be heard in the room. I also didn’t feel comfortable having to enter the accommodation through the pub, particularly as there were people drinking and socialising in the area. There was also a very large dog in the middle of the walkway on the way to the stairs, which made accessing the room feel uncomfortable. The room itself may be suitable for someone who doesn’t mind pub noise or the pub-style entrance, but this was not what I expected and I would have preferred a quieter and more private entrance.

Spotlessly clean room, really really impressed with how nice the room was for the cost. Fantastic facilities, lovely bathroom everything you could need for a stay.

The room was comfortable. We received vouchers for complimentary drinks from the i house cafe.

There were no complimentary drinks in the room. The room needed to be cleaned more thoroughly before we entered as there was dirt on the chair and carpet. The room wasn't ready when we arrived and we had to let a member of staff set it up once we'd put our bags in the room. It was very noisy and the blinds were broken so light couldn't be fully blocked out. As a damily room, it was too close to the noisy road and the noise from the bar below.

The accommodation and staff are amazing, It is by far one of the best rooms I have stayed in in my week in Sheffield if I didn't already have accommodation booked for the rest of the week I would have stayed longer

Amazing location, big rooms, clean and well maintained. Friendly staff

Poor communication. Not advised of a party that went on until nearly 4am right below the room with loud music being played until 2am. Did contact the number but no response that night. Had been communicating through the day via text only, not answering phone calls. Shame about these areas.

The room was exactly what we needed. Comfy beds, decent shower and great location for utilita arena. Check in staff friendly.

We weren’t told until check-in that there was to be a party that night. Our room was directly above a party that went on til 2am. The music and shouting was so loud. We paid to park in the carpark and explained that we needed to leave at 7am. We found we had been blocked in when we returned from eating out and let staff again know that we had to leave at 7am the following morning and were told that the car belonged to someone from the next door shisha lounge and would be gone in the early hours of the morning. We went to get our car at 7.10 and could not as it was still blocked in. Tried calling the hotel but didn’t get an answer so had to walk and return later in the day for our car which wasn’t ideal.

Very clean nice room good shower well maintained would stay again 10 out of 10

It was a bit pricey for drinks and food £5.90 for Coors £ 14 for chips and a bit of chicken pie and peas

Had an amazing stay at Don Valley Hotel! The staff were incredibly welcoming and provided excellent service throughout my visit. The ambience was warm and relaxing, making it a great place to unwind. Everyone was friendly and made me feel right at home. Stella the doggy, she's friendly .I would definitely recommend Don Valley Hotel and look forward to staying here again!

The location was extremely convenient for the venue we were attending just down the road. The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were fresh and modern.

The parking was very tight so once you were in the space you were penned in by other residents and couldn’t leave until they moved their vehicles the next day. Also, there was an extra charge for the parking. There were no reading lights in the room and the only light switch was by the door.

No windows in the room (no 8) but there was a Velux. Unfortunately it only opened a bit, given that we’re in a heatwave I was very hot without any fresh air. In the morning the owners Dad said that he would make sure it was fixed for the next guest. Other than this the stay was perfect.

The nearness to the ice rink was a plus. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean And the staff / family were so helpful and friendly and couldn’t do more to make are stay more welcoming.

The parking was an experience but was dealt with by such friendly helpful staff it caused us no problems. Unfortunately the road works didn’t help but that’s not the hotels fault. Also the rooms were so hot but that’s not the hotels fault either.

A fan in the bedroom would have been welcomed on such a hot day and night, as would have fridge- i know some rooms do have these I was woken up 2 nights in a row at 4 am by people across the street shouting loudly at each other for an hour! this was nothing to do with the hotel or the bar downstairs

I like it was above a pub, within walking distance to where we needed, had parking, helpful staff, very clean and the bed was very comfy!!! Good price!

The only thing I would say was there was no lamp in the room and my daughter is a bit scared of the dark in a new place but that’s nothing major it was a great stay!

Nothing like the picture,very poor scruffy. The room was a nice size but only mugs kettle you had to leave your finger on the kettle until it boiled.Roadworks outside which were noisy started at 6am also traffic.Staff were very pleasant,just very run down pub with rooms not a hotel.Duvets were awful and the colour maroon just makes everything look dirty.The shower was good towels again that awful colour..We had a drink outside but didn't eat so went to the Indian down the road which was excellent and reasonably priced.

Not even a single teabag, no body wash, no lamps (just the big, very bright ceiling light), no headboard. Bedsheet was torn in the corner. Hotel stunk of cannabis. Breakfast not included. Parking not included.

Being kept awake by a constant bass line from 11pm till 4am when we had to wake for 7am. The bass from the nightclub out the back was enough to vibrate the bed and cupboards

Absolutely loved our stay. The property was beautiful, clean, cosy and very welcoming. It honestly felt like being in our own home. Everything was comfortable and well prepared, and we really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Would definitely stay again.

After arranging an early check in only to be left waiting for an hour,also basic thing like hand soap and a waste bin in the room would of been nice,and pre booking a breakfast only to be waiting half hour and specifically asking for scrambled eggs and getting a fried egg after asking twice was a let down

Room 10 leaked road noise through the closed window. Couldn’t get much in the way of water pressure from the hot tap in the shower room. There was a slight mustiness about room 10.

The staff didn’t know what they was doing the room was small bed very uncomfortable 1 flat pillow said coffee and tea making facilities only kettle and 2 cups parking said on website £4 per day we was charged £5 per day drinks in the bar you pay one price then you get charged another price which is more very expensive breakfast that was cold it was basic and charged £10.00 each but on just eat it’s £7.50 I wouldn’t pay £5.00 for that I work in the hospitality business and how this place is run by the staff is not the best the same man cooking doing the bar And running the hotel it’s a joke because you have to wait until they have finished the task they are doing

The pub was very friendly atmosphere and the room itself was perfect, just as expected. Shower is good aswell and working tv.
