We did not have hot water on the last day. On the website it is indicated that the beach is 800m away but it is much further than that.

Reviewed Jun 14, 2026The room we were upgraded to had a bath and shower. The room was spacious and comfortable keeping in mind we were there for 7 days, we did not feel cramped up at all. The location of the lodge is perfect, close enough to the malls and far enough for the peace and quiet. The staff are fantastic. Going back to a room that was cleaned daily was one of the things we thought was really good. The lodge is tastefully decorated and extremely clean. We can recommend Blue Waves Lodge as a holiday accommodation or as a peaceful stop-over.

Her service was outstanding – friendly, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. She handled everything with professionalism and a warm attitude that made the stay feel personal. The lodge itself was exceptional too. Clean, well-maintained, and well-run. Great service from the front desk to housekeeping. If you’re looking for great hospitality, Blue Waves Lodge delivers, and Matu is a standout staff member.

Bathroom cupboard under vanity /basin, needs replacing, water damage. Wooden frame above the bathroom door, water damage. Cupboards, shelving need replacing and a face lift. 5 odd coat hangers on one side, none in the other cupboard. One very Tatty old main towel on arrival, no two... Was sorted out after complaint, then perfect 👍🏻 In our kitchen area, one knife and two forks.? Could have had some dish washing liquid.?! Rest was great.

The room had no towels. It was already evening when I realized and the hotel staff were unreachable. Never have I ever been to a hotel where towels were not offered, anywhere in the world! The bedding had stains, paint on the walls is peeling off. The fact that the front desk is a foreign national is another reason to not spend any more of my money on this hotel. This is not a scarce skill.
