The staff were all exceptionally informative, friendly and helpful going out of their way to provide us with a positive stay.

Arrived early the reception staff were very helpful and escorted be directly to the accommodation, Breakfast was very good, All the staff were very friendly and helpful, Excellent service well done.

Very friendly staff. The room was nice and clean. Good location. Good breakfast. They offer 10% off food and drink whilst you are staying.

Fab location , close to the railway and bus station. Close to shops and bars .

The Alb is good value, comfortable & a bit quirky which I like. Travelodge/Premier Inn are not for me. The staff at the Alb are very friendly and helpful. In particular Sally, who served my breakfast two days running. She was lovely and great at her job. 10/10 Also Jamie who cooked my breakfast to perfection. 10/10 The owner Jay should be proud of running such a lovely hotel and having such great staff. I've now stayed in four different rooms and loved all of them for their individual charms.

I'm happy to say there's nothing I didn't like.

We received a warm welcome from Millie on arrival. Our room was very clean and warm and we had a great nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Good room facilities and a lovely breakfast (we chose eggs on toast! but there were lots more options available). Excellent value for money. Second time we’ve been here and we’ll definitely come back again.

I liked everything about my stay here. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room I stayed in was clean and well-equipped, and the location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the train station and close to almost everything worth seeing. And the Alb next to the Albert Hotel is a nice bar (reception and breakfast is there)

There was nothing really. Maybe one small thing that the wifi code was not written anywhere in the room, but I texted the place via the booking.com app and they replied to me within one minute!

The location was great.

Breakfast started at 9:00 but we needed to leave earlier. Would have appreciated an earlier option.

En fantastisk atmosfär och stämning. Ett pub-boende när det är som bäst. Ett hotell för den som vill kommunicera med personal och andra människor. Bra läge nära järnvägsstationen. I utkanten av den absoluta stadskärnan men ändå väldigt centralt.

Rummet saknade skrivbord och hade inte en enda stol. Att bara ha sängen att sitta på är obekvämt. Om det är dåligt väder kan det vara negativt att behöva gå utomhus för att nå frukosten. Man ska vara medveten om att det kan ta tid innan frukosten är klar. Kanske beställa kvällen innan om man har bråttom?

The bar area, the hotel, was adequate, could do with a lick of paint, it not often you will see an extension lead for customers to use, im sur yhis would be classed as a fire hazzard, if all 4 sockets used at once.

After I got to my hotel room, I arrived by train up from S.Wales, I was unwell with food poisoning, I spent a full day in bed at my room I will in future have to come along again to try the breakfast. I went home Sunday.

Room clean and spacious, breakfast good, the staff tried to accommodate to a gluten free diet. Definitely worth the money

Breakfast was brilliant. We had a room with small lounge, the bathroom was clean and new. The area was ideal. The staff were friendly and informative of the area. Definitely will be booking again.

Staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We arrived later than expected and were very quickly shown to our room and kindly given the offer of a parking place beside the hotel. The kitchen had closed but the staff gave us directions to a few places close by where we could eat

Shower cant be changed from too hot..It drips and is leaking at a join. Bed sheets not right size too small..

Location, size of room and ease of access

Damp smell has you enter the communal area, we lost power to all sockets in the morning of our stay, therefore this prevented us from charging phones, using hair stylers etc l. Young chap on reception / bar tried to help and got lights back on but there was no urgency or resolution to provide socket power for us to use. Not ideal when your out for the weekend and need to get ready

Welcoming friendly staff, clean comfortable room. There is also a discount in the restaurant for guests, and the food was good and reasonably priced.

Amazing value. Two minutes walk from the station, clean and comfy. They let us leave our luggage for the afternoon before check in. And the price included a great breakfast.

Room was right next to smoking area lucky it was bad weather as it would be busy next to our window,also noisy from other rooms water running,toilets flushing all very loud .

It's a basic room in a pub, and was a little noisy in the evening, but was quiet later.

It's in a good location, the staff were friendly, the room was a decent size for two people with a big bathroom, general essentials and a smart TV, also very affordable especially with a breakfast included, albeit quite a basic one.

We didn't sleep very much, neither of us found the bed particularly comfortable, it's also quite noisy even at night, there's little to no soundproofing, can very easily hear people inside and outside the building, food wasn't being served at 7pm and the bar was closed by about half 9, so we didn't get to use the discount that came with the room.

You can hear everything, traffic, next door, water running. Don’t be hungry at breakfast, although it was included in our stay it was not worth the £13 they charge

Cornflakes was just that, no fruit to put in top. Egg on toast was like a hard boiled egg on bread!

Proximity to the party we were attending. But the venue was very cold. The heating didn’t appear to be on in the upstairs function room.

Plumbing noises from nearby rooms. En-suite shower constantly leaked & cistern filling continued throughout stay so had to keep toilet door closed to block out the noise. Room heating was difficult to regulate. Did not cool down in night despite the thermostat being turned to the lowest setting.

Perfect location, practically straight off the train. Near the centre of town. Room was great, separate room with sofa + tv to enjoy a cuppa and some relaxing after shopping. Lovely shower room etc. Tea making facilities. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was lovely and included. Paid for evening meal in restaurant downstairs, had fish and chips which was delicious and huge!! A very enjoyable stay, hoping to book again early in the new year.

Only downside was being able to hear what sounded like the heating generator from our room, but did not spoil our stay.

A fantastic clean hotel, great food, drink and atmosphere , Very polite staff too, Would highly recommended a stay with them .

The trains were so delayed that I reached Shrewsbury Station after midnight. Even though I informed the hotel they were very appreciative and understood the situation and requested I should stay calm and everything will be ok. Once I got to the station, the hotel staff went out of his way to meet me near the station even though the hotel was less than 5 mins away. That made me feel very welcome. The room was clean, large and I didn't expect this level of comfort for the amount paid. The breakfast was standard English and the portions were comfortable. Thank you.

My expectations of the hotel was low due to its price point but I was extremely surprised at my overwhelming experience. My hotel of choice at my next visit.

A couple of fittings in the bathroom were a bit off. No working lock, shelf at a slant and tap was stiff.
