We stayed just one night - we had hoped to hike in Horton Plains but were unlucky with the weather - poor visibility and rain on arrival and the following day (it transpired to be located 1-1.5 hours from Horton Plains so in hindsight I think I woudl have booked somewhere closer). Nevertheless, we spent an enjoyable day in Nuwara Eliyah. The staff at Ivy home are kind and attentive and clearly proud of their accommodation. Unfortunately recent heavy rains and flooding had not made life easy for them, as we understand the house needed some repairs. Nevertheless, it was comfortable for our brief stay and the meal we had there was good.

Staff are just amazing

The room had a heater option available for an additional charge, which we paid for, but the heater was not provided/available as expected. I only came to know about the cold weather in Nuwara Eliya through a friend, but the hotel should consider the local climate and make sure heating facilities are available, especially since it can get quite cold there. Guests should be informed clearly about this option and provided with the heater when they have paid for it

Staff were extremely polite and accommodating. Good size room, 2 beds and small balcony. Walk in shower. There is also a shared area which is where the WiFi is best. Don't forget to turn on the hot water!

A huge ceiling window with no way of covering it up, so the sun comes in at dawn. They only take cash.

The staff were super friendly. Especially Madhushanka and Balan provide an amazing service. Highly appreciated their welcome and service. Only satisfied with the property is the staff of IVY Homes.

- This property has no mountain view at all. - The balcony was fully sealed with tape, and after I asked to open the balcony, the room was flooded with rain. - No proper wall plugs to charge our mobile phones and laptops. - Nearly 250m of the road was completely broken. - Parking available only for 3 vehicles.

The property was lovely and clean, it is really large (we had the whole place to ourselves), but it really was the hospitality of Madushanka and the rest of the team that made our stay so great. They were warm, friendly and welcoming - couldn’t do enough for us. The food was great too. And the view out of the back of the hotel is truly exceptional. We went as two families and the socialising space upstairs was brilliant for us. Great place to stay.

The furry blankets!! We arrived from the hot coast and we were freezing and ill prepared. Hot drink on arrival was appreciated

the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and the hot water was inconsistent. Also, I was charged a bit more than the price shown on Booking.com

Staff Behavior .

The Hotel is very nice, it feels like home. The view is fantastic and the rooms and washroom are clean. Facilities are complete. We booked all the rooms at the upper floor so we basically have the spacious common room for ourselves. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and very accommodating. They cater to what we want to have for breakfast and dinner. They served the food in ample amount. For 2 staff working tirelessly to cater for our needs, did a job well done.

I don't have anything that I don't like, but maybe a heater in the room, will be good for cold days.

The room and bathroom had a lot of mould on the ceiling. They gave a room in one of their nearby properties but it was not nice. There were lot of mosquitoes. Power was out and none of the lights in the room were working with power backup

Really nice place with super friendly staff, good breakfast, big comfortable room. The location is not in a walking distance from the city, but with a nice view.

This was the best decision we made and undoubtedly the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka! It was one of our friend's birthdays, and Balan ensured we had an amazing time. He organised a birthday cake and a barbecue for dinner. The property is situated in a stunning location. We saw so many stars at night—I've never seen them so clearly before—and we were surrounded by lush greenery. We absolutely loved this stay! Just close your eyes and go for it! A big shoutout to Balan and his team for being such excellent hosts :)

The caretakers (Madushanka and Balan), provided outstanding hospitality. The rooms and surroundings were exceptionally clean and peaceful, ensuring a perfect stay in Nuwara Eliya. I highly recommend this property.

This hotel is located on the way to famous Horton plains, therefore it is convenient. It is in a very calm, serene environment with a beautiful panoramic view of the hills. Room was very spacious and clean with very good attached bathroom. We had very delicious Sri Lankan food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wish we had stayed for some more time.

Very clean and well maintained property. Caretaker mr. Madusanka is very friendly and very supportive. It is easy to access the property. We came to stay there for one night. But we stayed there 2 nights because of the beautiful view and comfort. There is no issue with hot water and water pressure. Comfortable beds and clean bed linen. Kitchen facility is also available and we used it.

It is better if the dining area is common for all the rooms.

Good Service and food

The Villa is very clean and nicely furnished, stands out by the care someone gave to make it look nice & feeling of a luxurious stay. The rooms were spacious enough, the beds were very comfortable. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Nice view of vegetables Gardens. Dinner was delicious, freshly cooked. Breakfast was also very good. Outside of city center, away from crowds and noise.
