The people really make the place. The staff were so friendly, and Mark and Inayah made us feel so very welcomed. Mark brought us on a hike to see the rice terraces and was a great tour guide with all the information provided about the places. They brought us to some wonderful spots for photos and food, and even welcomed us into their home. We were so honoured and touched by their hospitality. The place was lovely and well set up. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and everything that we needed. Bathroom was large and clean with great water pressure. The kitchen and table outside the room was a lovely way to start our mornings with the complimentary breakfast and a view. The pool was nice to cool off, but it is not large enough for swimming. Lipah Beach is just across the road!

There is a slight slope to reach the property, which can be tricky if you have many/ large bags. But the staff will help you!

Everything was perfect!! Mark and Inaya are the most wonderful hosts! They are so welcoming and make you feel like family visiting. They are generous with their precious advices and make their best to make your stay memorable. My room had a beautiful view, was confortable and with all amenities.

You can’t fault the property one bit. I love staying a bit out of town, so if you’re not comfortable paying for taxi or scooter it may not be for you, but it is worth it. Inayah and Mark and their staff are incredible. The room was spacious and the view from the top is perfect for slow morning, naps and afternoons listening to the sounds.

Staying here was a highlight of our Bali trip. Very good location, just 5 minutes walk from the beach with a beautiful reef and sparkling black volcanic sand. Well maintained and comfortable facilities. We had everything we needed. One minute walk from the local shops and restaurants. We’ve got a tasty breakfast and enjoyed it on the balcony with a sea view. Mark is a welcoming and helpful host that helped us to arrange the transfer and gave us useful recommendations. Recommend to everyone and would like to stay here again.

Mark and Inayah were wonderful hosts, friendly, attentive and gave excellent information . Breakfast choices were great, in particular the banana pancakes! Had the BEST massage i have ever had in my life, she bought a portable massage table to my room and i felt like a queen 🤩 They arranged a boat ticket for me to Nusa Lembongan and drove me to the port while we chatted like old friends in the car, and I left feeling like part of the family, suksma and cheers Mark and Inayah 🙏🥰❤️

Where to start ? From the moment I arrived, there was this arak cocktail, unforgettable guacamole and chips, and this immediate feeling of being expected somewhere, of truly belonging. And then there was that famous jamu shot with turmeric and ginger, the taste of which I still remember. Mark and his wife Inayah took me everywhere with them: hikes, a magnificent beach I never would have found on my own, authentic little spots, real contact with locals. Without them, my trip would have been an entirely different journey. It was true love at first sight. And above all: I had some medical issues while I was there, and Mark went out of his way to find solutions, with a kindness and responsiveness that touched me deeply. Traveling solo can sometimes feel vulnerable but there, I felt completely taken care of. The accommodation itself was also clean, comfortable and with an amazing view. I recommend this place a thousand percent, especially for solo travelers. Amed will remain one of my most beautiful memories of Bali, and I owe that to them. Thank you for everything. You were like a real family to me!

Minutes to the snorkelling beach but tucked in a little side-street. The owner was very generous with his time and attention taking us on a local walk and discussing local issues. Big undercover verandah with sunrise views before breakfast each morning. Little pool ideal for a cool off.

you can’t access by car. therefore it’s a big problem for the luggage. very bad breakfast. when we booked it was possible to pay by card, but no one of the staff knew how to use the card-reader. At the beginning we add an extra night because they said that we could cancel if we need, they asked us to pay it and after when we want to cancelled it they lye us saying that booking doesn’t give they the ok, so we lost all the money.

W rzeczywistości lepiej niż na zdjęciach. Śniadanie super. Jak podjeżdżasz to możesz być zaskoczony, bo idziesz wąską uliczką-ale to sekunda i jak zobaczysz wille to wiesz już ,że dobrze trafiłeś. Breakfast was good, served in our room. Staff were excellent & Mark & Inayah are exceptional hosts. They were so helpful & informative. Our top storey room was spacious & comfortable with beautiful views. Close to the beach & restaurants. We did some lovely day trips by motorbike to the surrounding areas.

A notre arrivée, nous avons voulu nous reposé mais il y avait un chantier de construction avec des coups incessants derrière cet établissement. J'ai envoyé plusieurs WhatsApp au propriétaire pour lui demandé ce que c'était et lui signifier que nous n'arrivions pas à nous reposé en raison du vacarme sans fin. Il m'a dit d'attendre 20 minutes puis m'a dit que le matin, les travaux commençaient avant 9h aussi nous avons demandé l'annulation sans frais afin de changer d'hébergement afin de passer des vacances au calme. Le propriétaire n'a rien voulu savoir car visiblement le bien-être de ses hôtes lui importe peu.

Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig, sauber und hatte eine grosse Terasse mit Meerblick. Die Gastgeber sind extrem hilfsbereit und geben viele gute Tips für Ausflüge oder Restaurants. Die Lage vom Hotel ist super zum Schnorcheln oder Tauchen, da bunte Korallenriffs in Gehdistanz sind. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen!

На момент нашего проживания, на трех (3 !!) прилегающих к отелю участках шла стройка: молоток, перфоратор и дисковая пила БЕЗ ПЕРЕРЫВА (нужно понимать, что этот отель не имеет большой собственной территории - соседние здания от вас в 10 метрах). Я спросил рабочих, они сказали, что работают 08.00 - 18.00 Мы прервали бронирование, и уехали оттуда. Думаете проводить на море все свое время, с 08 и до 18? Тогда вам подойдет, иначе - ни ногой. Удивлен высоким оценкам на Букинге. И да: на мою претензию хозяка заявила, что у нее "проживают по 20 дней, и всем нравится". Ну-ну...

I cannot fault this property or the staff. Mark and the staff were incredible. I arrived very unwell and depleted and was immediately met with the most helpful and welcoming hospitality to ensure I was looked well looked after. Mark has great connections in Amed making my transition even smoother. As a solo female traveller, I am very independent but I truly felt I could settle here for a long time (so I extended). Mark was not just my host but became a big influence on my journey travelling Asia, and I am extremely grateful for his and his team’s hospitality. You will be very welcomed here and if you’re looking for a place to call home, this is it 🙏 Thank you.

Wonderful hosts, they treat guests like family. They kept checking on me to make sure I'm taken care of at all times.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view is beautiful, and the place is very calm and relaxing — we even ended up staying longer than planned! Mark and his wife gave us a very warm welcome and provided great advice for visits, transport, and other activities, which made our stay even better. They have great local connections and also recommended activities for our next destination, which was really helpful. The breakfasts are good, and the pool is very pleasant. Everything is there to ensure a truly enjoyable and comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place.

Balty Bali was the highlight of my holiday. The room was so clean, tastefully decorated and included many thoughtful touches (towel rack/umbrella/torch/water/non-slip tiles in the wet areas & stairs), fab view. Mark & Inayah and their wonderful team were warm, helpful & generous with their time & knowledge. My morning hike with Mark (a born storyteller) was a treat. This place is a rare gem & I’m so grateful that I got to enjoy their hospitality. The drive to the airport was another brilliant day taking in interesting detours & waterfall adventures. In all my travels, Balty Bali is an absolute standout.

The hosts, Mark and Inaya, along with their three girls, were fantastic! We were impressed with their hospitality, friendship, and help with all our questions. If not them, our trip to Bali would not be so exciting, as they helped us to plan our trip, find and connect with people who could take us on an adventure, and recommend great local food and places, as well as plan a bit for our next trip. The days in Bali became much brighter with Mark and Inaya. The bed was very, very good, and the shower was good as well!

There is nothing we did not like. And here I always leave this comment for the places I stay (this is just me): "As a traveller my preferences is good firm bed, good shower, good amount of bench spaces and hooks around to sort my stuff, luggages, and usually, most of the places just don't have things like that, not sure how many people living out of they luggages and how many actually using the wardrobes provided."

* Has quite a local vibe. Two-tree story houses on the mountain slope. Amazing mornings and breakfast on the balcony with the view of the local houses and ocean. * Very clean and comfy, proper fridge in the room, drinking water * Comfortable bed, sheets, temperature etc * Place is run by a very friendly family, they accommodated all our asks during the stay and drove us back to Denpasar. Made our stay and journey back sort of a private tour into the local culture, showing us around and sharing local context. Very much enjoyed.

It's slightly dark there in the evenings, but perhaps that applies for most of Amed.

Everything was perfect. The staff was professional, friendly, super helpful. The location couldn't have been better, everything you could want less than a 5 minute walk, from snorkeling, fine dining, coffee shops, convenience stores, etc.. Hidden gem with super friendly neighbors. They picked us up at airport and gave guided tour all the way back to the villa, then upon leaving took us to our next destination. They have motorbikes, snorkeling gear, wifi and great breakfast. Nothing like waking up and drinking coffee in your private pool 20 feet from your room.

Leaving, next time will be extended stay. They have many returning guests which speaks volumes.

We had a wonderful stay! The room was spotless (no mold smell, clean all around). The pool and outside area were tidy and clean. Kitchen amenities were in good condition. The staff were lovely and helpful (getting laundry done, accommodating dietary restrictions for breakfast). A super close walk to fabulous snorkelling at the nearby beach!!

- der Ort selbst hatte nicht viel zu bieten und war auf unserer gesamten Reise nicht der liebste, allerdings haben wir uns einen Roller gemietet und haben tolle Ausflüge gemacht, denn die Lage an sich bietet einen tollen Ausgangspunkt für wunderschöne Ausflugsziele

Balty Bali is back from the main road yet only 3 minutes walk to the beach. Inayah, Mark and Sumi were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. We could hire snorkel gear from them and they arranged sun lounges at the beach for us as well. Breakfast was substantial and tasty. And we could refill our water bottles from the water dispenser in our room. The snorkelling was lovely off the beach. Several times we saw turtles.

Iets waar ze nu niks tegen kunnen doen maar ze zijn aan het werken daar. Dus geluids overlast. Verder een kat en een hond die je in de nacht wel wakker kunnen houden met hun geblaf en miauw.

Mark, his family and the staff create a magical atmosphere in this peaceful and relaxing homestay. They made us feel part of their daily life, helping us with the snorkeling stuff and all kind of things. The room was clean, silent and very well equipped (within a tiny private kitchen)

Mark is a very nice and welcoming host. The villa is well located close to the beach where we could enjoy snorkeling activities. Also Mark recommended us some incredibly nice spots to see the sunset while enjoying dinner. We absolutely recommend this place.

Mark, Inayah and staff are exceptional hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay in Lipah such a memorable and relaxing experience. Mark arranged all our transfers, snorkel hire, drivers for touring, in house massages (the best!) and shared his local knowledge and recommendations not only for our stay in Lipah but also for our onward journey which helped to make our holiday experience seamless and stress free. Breakfast served on our balcony each morning was delicious including great coffee from Java. We will miss waking up to our sunrise view across the sea while observing and listening to the sounds of the morning rituals of the village as it starts the day. Thankyou to all the team -we hope to visit again one day 🙏

I would like to preface this review by saying I booked this hotel on the basis of the fantastic reviews. As a result, I feel it is only fair to balance these with my own experience of Pondok Wisata Balty Bali, which effectively completely contradicts the reviews I read before travelling. Firstly, in the name of fairness, there are positives to this property. It is for the main part, clean and comfortable. There is a nice balcony and we had the sea view room which had a lovely view. It is located a stones throw from Lipah beach. Lipah beach is fab! More quiet than some other beaches around Amed, no rubbish, although as a trade off it is also a little more out of the way of shops/ other places of convenience. One other thing to note, is that if you are travelling during the rainy season the road leading to the property floods, and the river adjacent to the sea view room is extremely loud, becoming closer to a waterfall. This is just a side note to be aware of. Unfortunately, our negatives greatly outweighed the positives. They also begin before we even get to Amed. -The owner Mark got in touch approx a month before we traveled to Indonesia. I thought this was lovely. As a result, I already had his number in whatsapp, so when we arrived in Indonesia, i got back in touch with him to organise a tour to hike Batur volcano. This tour is advertised by the property as bookable through them. I would like to contextualise this by saying I am a travel agent who specialises in bespoke tours through Indonesia. I was aware that Amed was a distance from the treck, but due to having many plans during our stay in Indonesia, it was one of the only opportunities I had to do the hike. This is beside the point, because it is none of the proprietor’s business what I want to do, when, and why, if it is a service they offer. However, Mark made sure it was his business, talking me out of the tour and effectively refusing to help me book it.

A little gem, truly. Sparkling clean, bright and spacious rooms with modern and fully functional kitchen, large balcony overlooking the ocean. Lovely staff. Because the room upstairs was empty during my stay, Mark, the owner—well traveled and very interesting guy—upgraded me without additional fee, which was a nice and welcoming gesture. I ended up extending my stay. Will for sure be back! 🙏💛

As a seasoned traveller across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, I can confidently say our 3-night stay at Pondok Wasati Balti Bali was exceptional. From pre-arrival to departure, Mark, Iliyah and the team demonstrated outstanding professionalism and communication, making our transition to this Amed oasis seamless. The room was spotless, spacious, and offered stunning 180° ocean views. Every comfort was considered: excellent air-con and fan, a full filtered water tank, strong Wi-Fi and tech setup (essential for my work), high-quality mattresses, consistent hot dumping showers, coffee/tea facilities, and a well-stocked, exceptionally reasonably priced minibar. On our first night, Mark went above and beyond to arrange transport and a venue for us to watch a niche Australian sports game, complete with a view of Mt Agung in the background. Further, Mark's restaurant recommendations were spot-on and varied. Breakfast was delivered right on time to our balcony, with delicious coffee, fresh fruit and sourdough bread baked by Iliyah our hostess herself. Truly a memorable and effortless stay. What resonated most for us at Pondok Wasati Balti was the genuine passion Mark, Iliyah, and the team demonstrate in creating the best possible experience for every guest. Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation—or both—they go above and beyond to tailor your stay, offering great support for activities like hiking, diving, or scooter tours at exceptionally fair prices. In three words: flawless, hospitable and fun!! We cannot wait to return!!!

Mark and Inayah were incredibly accommodating. Mark took me on a easy hike one morning. They arranged massages in my room and snorkel gear for me. I didn't have to worry about much at all while there.

Mark and Inayah are truly exceptional hosts. They really go out of their way to make sure you're happy and comfortable with your stay. I only stayed one night, and now I'm feeling so sad that I didn't decide to stay an extra night with them. I stayed here a day before my birthday, and Mark and Inayah made my birthday super special by singing to me and surprised me with a homemade treat! It's the little things that make a big difference. If you're a slow and peaceful traveler, this is truly the place to be in Bali. It's a 5 minute walk from the beach, has a complimentary home-cooked breakfast, and if you're lucky, you may have a view of the ocean. Their paid amenities include snorkel and fin rentals, transportation, massage, and laundry services at super affordable rates. The staff can help lead you to the beach, and they offer to help carry your things for you to the beach. My stay at Pondok Wisata Balty Bali was a memorable time, and I will make it a point to come back. I highly recommend this place!

Perfect quiet getaway for those that love being in or on water. Mark and his wife made me feel very welcomed. He was extremely helpful organizing things I needed including boat trip and bike rides to Amed and Sunset Point. The beach is a few minutes walk away. I was expecting to have to swim far out to see coral and fish but it's within a few meters of the sand. I did a small boat trip and saw the Japanese warship wreck. I also saw 6 turtles at Lipah Beach, where this accommodation is located. I was lucky enough to time it that I joined Mark and his family for a traditional Metatah ceremony. What a privilege. Putri is tiny but gives great in room massage on a massage bed. I am a solo female traveler and felt very relaxed and at home here. I hired Mark to drive me back to Sanur and was invited to lunch before they headed off. The a revealing question when reviewing is "would you go back?". My answer is absolutely. I recommend 3 even 4 nights if you want a more quiet village feel of a stay. It's a water lovers delight. Tips. Wake up before dawn on a clear morning. You will see the fishing boats lights twinkling on the horizon. Enjoy the sunrise. Go to Sunset Point. Time it to see the sunset. The pan fried snapper was delicious. If Mark offers to take you up a bike / hike trip - say yes. It's a long trip so on the way up I hired a driver to do it as a tour with a couple of stops on the way.

The unit had everything we needed and a beautiful view of the ocean! The pool was very well kept and the entire place was very clean and well taken care of. Mark and his wife were excellent hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Outside of the power going out for a few hours our first night it was a wonderful place to stay right by the ocean! We loved it and wish we stayed longer.

A great place to stay for a few nights in Amed for those who value comfort. Very clean and aesthetic. Mineral water is included in the room. Comfortable bed, towels of various sizes, smelling clean. The bathroom has everything a guest might need. Terrace overlooking the sea, you can enjoy every sunrise. On the terrace there is a comfortable leisure sofa, a table for two, it is fun to have breakfast. Extremely good breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised. 10 minutes to the coral reef beach, where snorkeling is fun. I recommend the nearby warung Sabar, where you can taste high-quality fresh food.

A safe haven I was happy to call home for five nights. Clean rooms, beautiful service, huge breakfast.

The pool is too chlorinated in my opinion, but we mainly went to the beach. Since we didn't use the pool much, it was easy to find cheaper accommodation on the island. Be more generous with the bread. I asked for an extra slice of bread (2 slices at breakfast) and it was refused. Bathroom needs a deep cleaning in the corners that are turning yellow.

We had an amazing stay, big thanks to our super hosts, Mark and Inayah who gave us many great tips and recommendations and made our stay joyful and memorable. The view from the balcony was beautiful. A good snorkeling beach is nearby in walking distance. There are good cafes, restaurants and a grocery store nearby. I totally recommend this hidden gem.

Brand new beautiful accommodation, with spectacular spaces and a wonderful view of the sea. Mr. Mark was not present, but his wife Inaya attended to us carefully. We went on a nice walk with her. The massage provided by the staff was also pleasant. Good breakfast on the huge teracce started the day very nicely.

Mark and Inaya were lovely hosts and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was extraordinary. The staff were exceptional. The location is brilliant. And the local’s insight and guidance really elevated the trip. I seriously can’t wait to return.

Lovely village in Amed. Room was very big. Outdoor kitchen with a big fridge. Big balcony with fan. Big comfortable bed. Clean sheets. Overall the place was very clean. Nice, clean pool. Good aircon in the room. Staff was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Easy acces to different beaches with scooter. Good beach very close. Many corals, fishes and turtles. You can snorkel right from the beach.

Good location near Lipah beach and many local restaurants. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. The best part about it though is the host, Mark, who takes you into the surrounding hills/villages each morning for a walk if you are interested. Definitely recommend that.

A beautiful place, near the Lipah beach where you can see many beautiful fishes and sometimes turtles ! The room is big with a beautiful view. It's really peaceful ! The hosts are lovely and super helpful. I spent a great time !

I believe that the price of the additionnal services that are offered (driver / tour / ...) are a higher vs. what you can find when asking around.

Very nice stay in Amed.

Travelled with my husband and really loved the accommodation! We spent time in the homestay between scuba diving, yoga and meal times, chilling at the balcony. The owner, Inayah runs a cake business as well and she made a beautiful, customised birthday cake for my husband. Definitely would recommend staying here!

Location is perfect since it is right at the most beautiful beach in Amed (best snorkeling) and it has a small grovery store and lots of really good restaurants in walking distance. Scooter rental at the property is also available. Rooms are clean and spatcious and great breakfast.

A small thing: We rented 2 pair of fins at the hotel and the way we received them it definiteley seemed they are included in the rental - but they got charged to us at checkout (25k per day per pair). One pair broke on the beach when trying on the first time -> overall you get much better equipment to rent on the beach for the same price

Clean villa, clean swimming pool, polite staff. Location very close to the Lipah Beach. The owner really takes care of his guests.

What a place! After 6 weeks of travelling various places, we were ready for a stop like this where we were looked after perfectly. The place is lovely- nice pool and bathroom, big, comfortable room and delicious breakfast. All members of staff are lovely but the owner is who makes this stay. Nothing is too much trouble from before you arrive to when you leave. So many good restaurant recommendations and reservations done for us, every question answered about our stay here but also about our onward trip. It's a genuine desire for you to have the best stay/experience possible. Little things like a piece of fruit to try or a shot of a health drink are second nature. Really great location next to some lovely restaurants and 2 minutes from the beautiful beach where the snorkelling is top drawer. I can see why the majority of people give this 10/10. Wonderful place and highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing.

I had a wonderful time solo travelling here. Out of this world hospitality by Mark & Inayah. Truly astounding! I didn’t feel for a second that I was away from home, and didn’t have trouble with literally anything while I was there. Need a scooter? They have. Hikes and arranging for activities? they’ll help. Transport? they’ll drive you personally if they’re available and show you Bali along the way and make a slow 2 hour ride pass like 30 minutes and make it a fun part of the trip! And all for a standard price! Mark took me on a beautiful hiking trip on the mountains surrounding the area. He’s a pro in navigating the place and feels like he knows everybody there! And Inayah cooked for us delicious Balinese food, and was always there to help anytime I needed anything! The rooms were spotless. Excellent water pressure, stronger than my home lol, and it was generally very well equipped, cleanex, shampoo, plenty of towels etc. no road sound whatsoever and very good wifi. Can’t ask for more! Don’t think twice, book it! P.s. the pictures are from the hike

We loved to stay with Marc and Inayah! It was a pleasure meeting them. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and new. Every room has a balcony or a terrace. The view from the room upstairs is amazing! Marc gave us a lot of recommondations for restaurants or trips (snorkeling, lahangan sweet, trekking …). One day we went on a fishing trip and in the evening Inayah cooked a delicious meal with the fish! It was so nice to having dinner with both of them. If you like, you can rent a scooter or book a massage in your room. I highly recommend this accomodation. It was the best stay in indonesia!

Our family stayed here and booked all 3 bedrooms for 3 nights . The owners Mark and Inaya were very welcoming and helpful with booking restaurants and a boat trip . Clean , comfortable accommodation in a great location. Lovely staff and delicious breakfasts . Lovely view from our balcony

Our stay was absolutely perfect! We enjoyed snorkelling on the beach which is next to the hotel and the host was so kind to show us the hills and all the surrounding villages.

Wow! What a great place to explore the Amed area! Inayah and Mark’s wonderful guesthouse is a magnificent place that comes with a lovely swimming pool and delicious breakfast! Our room had the best sea view - both from the super comfy bed and the balcony! Because the beautiful room has no kitchen, we could use the main kitchen below to prepare a light lunch. Unfortunately we only stayed 5 nights - we could have easily stayed for a whole month! The shower (both in- and outdoor) was the best we had so far! Lipah beach is just a 3 minute walk from the house where you can snorkel directly from the beach (lots of colourful fish, corals and turtles). There are also abundant and very good dining options in walking or scooter distance - you are spoiled for choice. Mark, a passionate hiker, even took us to an amazing hiking tour to explore the surroundings of the area and gave us lots of good hiking tips. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ accommodation! 100% recommended!
