We had a wonderful stay at Ella Nature Nest. The hospitality was excellent. The couple who run the place were incredibly kind, helpful, polite, and friendly throughout our stay. The room was very clean and neat, with hot water available. The view was beautiful, and you can even see a waterfall from the property, which makes the place even more special. It offers great value for money and is a lovely, peaceful place to stay and enjoy Ella. We truly felt welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

The room was excellent. This guesthouse is operated by a couple who are so nice and welcoming. I was welcomed by some complimentary snacks and a drink.They even packed me a tiffin box the next morning as I was checking out early for Mirissa. The husband also has a private tuktuk who drove me to the town early morning as the facility is situated at a quite an uphill.

Beautiful house surrounded by nature. Hosted by a family, who are also happy to prepare lunch or dinner if you wish. All of this for an amazing price!

The breakfast was excellent with 03 varieties, good service. The young couple is very accommodative and was ready to meet our requirements.

A beautiful location nestled in the forest. Comfortable with lovely forest views and scenic view to Ella Rock. Perfect for bird-watching and observing both the Grizzled Giant Squirrel and Indian Palm Sqirrel. Nice and close to access the Ella Rock Track to climb to the summit. Very generous, local breakfast provided too! 😍

Della camera, pur molto carina e accogliente, ho apprezzato soprattutto il terrazzino con vista su Ella Rock e circondato da alberi Molto bello anche lo spazio in cui si fa colazione. La proprietaria della struttura è davvero gentile e disponibile, sempre con il sorriso. È stato piacevolissimo passare qui il mio soggiorno, mi sarei fermata volentieri ancora. Sicuramente se torno a Ella passerò di qui. La posizione oltre a essere molto panoramica è anche comoda per il centro del paese e per imboccare il sentiero verso Ella Rock.

Vista natura...lei molto gentile...

Se venite qui è solo perché siete nella natura... quindi zanzare che è normale...accessibile con delle scale dalla strada...

Lecker frisches Obst zum Frühstück. Zimmer hatte Balkon und schöne Größe, etwas abgelegen ca. 15 min bis in die Stadt Ella zu Fuß. Sehr hilfsbereite Besitzerin.

Bad etwas rusikal, steiler Treppen Zugang zur Unterkunft, das Toast zum Frühstück war etwas hart. Steckdose gab es nur eine.

It's a really calm and beautiful place to be. You are surrounded by nature and its sounds. There was a balcony with an amazing view. You're not too far from the center, and the host is one of the nicest people ever. I can only recommend 10 out of 10.

Accommodation Review: Location: fairly basic Room: double, large and nice, with a view of the forest and a terrace. Bathroom: very simple; the toilet needs some maintenance, and hot water takes a while to arrive. Breakfast: good Staff: very kind and helpful.

Fabulous views, very quiet and clean rooms with good beds.

From the description we expected a kettle in the room which there wasn’t but they kindly provided hot water when needed. The shower wasn’t very strong in one room but the views really made up for it.

The WiFi didn’t work

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The place was spotless, everything was very clean and well-maintained, which made us feel comfortable right away. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed and making us feel right at home. And the breakfast… simply delicious! Was full of flavour and clearly made with care. We truly had a fantastic experience and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Highly recommended! Thank you so much!!

Beautiful place in beautiful nature, very kind lady that is very helpful, great view from balcony, very close to waterfall, Ella rock as well as the town. We loved it ♥️

Highlight of this homestay is its owner. Nirasha is an angel:) she is so accommodating and helpful. Her smile makes your day immediately better! She makes delicious breakfast, and tea is always available. It is very peaceful and quiet, yet very close to the town and main Ella attractions (walking distance) View from first floor is obstructed cause of the trees, but it gives a “jungle feeling” and chance to observe all the visitors - birds, squirrels, monkeys and beautiful trees and flowers.

bathroom needs some maintenance (water tap , shower head needs replacements). big minus of this property is wifi . Only minus, in fact. connection keeps dropping off. For those who need stable wifi for work or other purposes , this is not really the right place. Reception is pretty bad. Other than that, everything is great, I enjoyed my stay , good value for money (especially for budget solo travellers).

Was such a nice little nest, is a bit of track, but if you manage to find the stairs that goes down a budist temple they end up in the train track, from there is a short walk, took me a few tries to find the right one

Lovely family owned property. Very basic but has everything you need. Hot showers, comfortable bed, nice views through the trees, not too far to walk into town.

Choose Ella Nature Nest for your stay in Ella!!! The view, nature, close to the city, SUCH a nice couple who run the place! Nirasha taught us how to cook Sri Lankan food, she offered tea and everything we needed. The most authentic, coziest place to stay in all of Ella. Trust me! Ella city is just a 15 minute walk away along the train tracks (with a stunning view). Ella is a small city so whenever you go a little away from the main city, the internet connection is quite bad. (Better in the morning) that means that both the WiFi connection and our cell phone connection was not the best. We found no problem at all in this, and it actually made the stay that more peaceful to get away from our phones and enjoy the nature even more! If I ever come back to Ella, I will stay here!!

Lovely attentive host. The house is in a stunning natural forest location above the town. We enjoyed our stay here and the rooms were nice and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was superb.

There is a set of steep steps of about 10 metres to get down to the house, so maybe not ideal if you have extra large bags or any disabilities.

We loved this homestay the rooms were a good size comfy beds and nice bathrooms. There was plenty of hot water and a lovely balcony. Fab views and great location. A short walk down to the railway tracks then 10mins into Ella. Some really good restaurants just 10mins the other way. We had a v friendly welcome and a lovely breakfast. A great base for exploring Ella at a really reasonable price.

True to its name it’s a real nature nest with a gorgeous view to Ella, a temple right next to it and located within a 7min walk to the Ella centre via the train rails. The room was cozy and impeccably clean. A real gem for the value.

There is no privacy as we could clearly hear the next door’s conversations and movements

Nice big bed, big room and terrace with a good view. Nice breakfast and tea. Friendly owners. 10-15min walk to the city center via the train rails (very dark at night).

Owners don't speak English very well. They organized a private driver for us who did not speak English at all. You can better take a TukTuk tour which will be offered anywhere in the city. The shower had only a little water coming out. Facilities are very old and run-down. No hand soap, no shower gel. No water, drinks or beer available.

Basic room, hot water, nice view, calm and peaceful atmosphere, very good breakfast! We had one of the best and kind host in all our trip, always with a smile and offering tea!

Just a reminder you are going to stay in the Nature so a lot of noises from birds, dogs etc if you are not a heavy sleeper earplugs is a must! Mosquito repellent is a must also

Its a nice big room, with a balcony. Owner was very friendly and helpful. If you are book lover you would have a great time, as they do have books in their room.

We had an amazing stay here a week ago! The location had amazing views right from our bedroom! And still only a 10 minute walk into Ella town itself :) We had no problem walking to places like nine arches bridge or following the train track to Ella Rock! The host was also super lovely! She always asked if we wanted pots of tea and made me an omelette one night when I wasn't feeling well so couldn't go out ❤️ They also have the cutest dog! I would highly recommend staying here, it's a very peaceful place but still close enough to the town :)

Some dogs can bark at night like many places in Ella. The soundproof of the room can be better.

It was a different experience and I felt like I was inside a cabana. You can see a beautiful view in the morning here and ears were filled up with the sound of birds in the morning. Actually it is like music and i listened to it for more than half an hour. The couple in charge of this place were very friendly and provided excellent service.

Nirasha greeted us on arrival with a lovely smile and a much needed pot of tea after our 7 hour train journey from Kandy. She was very helpful throughout our stay . Danushka was also lovely, taking us on a trip to the waterfalls and little adams peak at a very reasonable price.

Nothing - everything including the location surrounded by trees was exceptional.

We like the location, we felt like we are in jungle in this wooden cabin. We really enyojed our private balcony and the view. Out host were great, Nirassa was always available a caring around us preparing delicios breakfast, lunch and ayurvedic traditional medicin for stomack aches of our daughter. Hee husband was always here with his tuk tuk to drive us around. The place is enough close to everything and enough far from the Ella's noise.

The view in the morning is great. The owners were very kind and he even drove us to town once to grab some dinner.

Sadly, in the bedroom there was mold on the ceiling and the bed sheets were dirty. Also, one of the two power sockets in the bedroom didn't work and there was no hairdryer, contrary to what was stated in the description. Conclusion: The location, the home stay itself and the owners were actually really nice but unfortunately there were some negative points.

Feels like staying in a treetop. Beautiful views, nice location and friendly hosts who helped organize transfers. Good breakfast too!

It felt like I was in the heart of the forest with trees and small wildlife all around. The room was better than I had expected (beautifully done with wooden floors and tasteful decorations). The staff were very welcoming and went the extra mile to prepare my breakfast by 6am so I could catch the early bus on my last day.

Although I loved being in nature, it meant that all the nature sounds at night could be heard. Fortunately I had earplugs, so just a word of caution to pack some! The squirrels, birds, and dogs will remain your friends if you do.
