The historic building from the French colonial era has a wonderful internal patio, spacious and clean rooms, and good-quality furniture and other equipment—a quiet place in the White City, located not far from major attractions. Very nice and helpful owners.

Le petit gîte est une guest house conviviale où la communauté française se donne rendez-vous. Il ne doit pas y avoir dans tout Pondichéry un endroit où on entend autant le français, ou peut-être à l'Alliance Française. J'y ai fait des rencontres magnifiques et nous restons en contact. Mes adresses: le Baker Street juste à côté avec des croissants meilleurs qu'en France, Le Café avec vue sur la mer et Le Petit Four quand l'estomac commence à avoir du mal avec la cuisine indienne. N'hésitez pas à demander les adresses, Abdul et Tamil se feront toujours un plaisir de vous renseigner. Et ils vous indiqueront d'autres bons plans.

Le séjour est très grand mais sombre. C'est une maison de style coloniale, construite à une époque où la clim n'existait pas. Pour se préserver de la chaleur, on évitait de faire rentrer les rayons de soleil.

L’emplacement est très bien car dans une rue calme, proche des grandes artères. Nous avons pu tout faire à pied pendant 3 jours. Les gérants sont très aimables.

La chambre est très humide, toutes nos affaires sont humides et sentent l’humidité. Les murs s’effritent. C’est très sombre, on se croirait dans une cave. Au bout de 3 jours nous avions parfois du mal à respirer.

Charmante maison d’hôtes pleine de caractère. Les chambres sont très propres, et certaines disposent d’une petite terrasse. Les espaces communs sont agréables avec des livres à disposition, et un réfrigérateur commun est également disponible pour les voyageurs. Wifi disponible. L’établissement est bien situé et au calme. Le gérant mérite clairement cinq étoiles : extrêmement serviable, attentionné et toujours prêt à aider. Après plus de dix ans de voyages en Inde, cet endroit fait sans hésiter partie de mes meilleures expériences. Je le recommande vivement. Charming guesthouse full of character. The rooms are very clean, and some have a small terrace. The common areas are pleasant with books available, and there is also a shared refrigerator for guests. You have wifi. The property is well located and very quiet. The manager Abdoul truly deserves five stars: extremely helpful, attentive and always ready to help. After more than ten years of travelling in India, this place is definitely among my best experiences. I highly recommend it.

This is a lovely home in a nice quiet residential street, whilst also being centrally located and within easy walking distance of everything. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, and there is a nice lounge and kitchen area for guests, and also lovely outside areas upstairs with shade and lots of plants and flowers. We quickly felt very at home. The owner Abdul and his staff were all kind, friendly and helpful. Abdul was happy to help us with general advice and transport arrangements, and it was clearly important to him that we enjoyed our stay. We were able to do some laundry. He even helped us arrange a trip to a cow sanctuary in the countryside half an hour out of town after my daughter had a notion to visit it!

I had an amazing stay ! I was supposed to stay for one night and ended staying 4. The heritage house is beautiful, close from White Town but still in a quiet area with local shops. My room was super clean and really confortable. You also have access to drinkable water, a kitchen and a beautiful terrace with plants. I was sad to leave…

Very CLEAN, LARGE and SPACIOUS property in Puducherry, offering plenty of room to relax both indoors and outdoors. The terrace is a great spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are impressively spacious, with very comfortable beds and effective air conditioning that made the stay especially pleasant. The entire hotel feels open and airy, necessary in this city. Perfect place for those seeking comfort and space in a central location.

I wish I had stayed more nights here

It was the best place I could find, pretty authentic, beautiful, full of the before times yet very well maintained. Place is very clean and washrooms are well maintained, good assistance was provided. We loved the vibe of the place. Great option to choose

It’s a very nice place in à beautiful house: you can see the pictures on the website, very close to the railway station: it s possible to go by walk. I had a very nice, clean and comfortable room and could enjoy AC ! I could also use the washing machine with the help of Tamil 😉The owner and the people working in this guesthouse are very nice and helpful. I can only recommend that very safe and quiet place and will even come back soon! Thank you for everything

Great stay! Clean rooms and peaceful vibe. Manager Abdul was super helpful and guided me around Pondicherry. Tamizh, the caretaker, was also very polite and attentive. Excellent service—definitely recommend!

The house was really beautiful and had all the necessary facilities like a kitchen, fridge and a washing machine. Although located in the main area, it was quiet and peaceful. The host was kind enough to let us check in early upon request. Definitely a great homestay.

The staff were so welcoming from the minute I arrived. They provided me with breakfast every morning and even dropped me off for my very early train. The location was also great and the building itself was beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay.I was impressed by the hotel’s stunning aesthetic – modern, elegant, and beautifully designed. Every corner was thoughtfully decorated, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. Cleanliness was top-notch! The room was spotless, fresh, and smelled amazing. The linens were crisp, the bathroom was sparkling, and even the smallest details were well taken care of. It truly felt like a luxurious retreat. The ambiance throughout the airbnb was calming, with soft lighting, stylish furniture, and a perfect blend of comfort and sophistication. A charming place to stay, super clean and comfortable. Large bath towel, mossie screens on all the windows plus plug-in repellent. Both a/c and fan worked well - not too noisy. Low cost laundry service. Use of kitchen with fridge. Good location in a quiet side street, walking distance to the beach and French Quarter with lots of great cafes and restaurants - highly recommend Crepe In Touch. Sandjiv was friendly and helpful - even gave me a lift to the bus station when I left, and made sure I got on the right bus.

The double bed mattress was rather too hard - but that's just personal preference.

The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The property itself has a lovely vintage charm. The host was kind enough to let me use a spare room to freshen up after I had checked out in the morning as I had a late afternoon bus to catch. The host also helped arrange transportation for me when needed. I felt safe in the property as the main door was always locked - this is important for me as a solo female traveller

I was expecting this stay to feel a little like a homestay - homely, friendly, and helpful. For me, it was missing the personal touch... perhaps a reception/host who could advise on where to go, what to do... just general local knowledge.

An old heritage home that is well kept and very clean. It is at a good location next to the train station and central areas of town in a quiet residential street. The owner was extremely kind, made us breakfast (although it was not included), and gave us a lift to the station. He even offered us to use his motorbike the day before. There is access to the kitchen and fridge as well and to a small library.

This isa very beautiful old house. It was a veryinteresting and enjoyable axperience. How to live in a museum or in real Indian cinema. Very nice and intelligent hosts. Perfect cleanliness. Convenient location.

More than anything the hospitality of Mr.Abdul Kabeer and Tamizh was the highlight of my trip. A homely atmosphere, especially on a day when the rains didn't allow me to venture out a lot , they made things easy for me.

This place is highly recommended. A beautiful 19th century house where you feel like home away from home. Surrounded with beautiful antique pieces and huge common space. The place is closer to white town, rock beach and other main location. Super close to pondi railway station.. Cleanliness is top-notch. Staffs are super helpful. Can help with transportation too. Would love to stay here again when I am back in Pondicherry.

I'm truly stumped, there’s absolutely nothing I could criticize in this review. Maybe in the future, adding an actual welcome drink could elevate the experience even further. Just a thought!
