Palais de Mahé - Cgh Earth

Great stay in Pondicherry. This is a beautiful hotel— perfectly appointed rooms and amazing service. Highly recommend.

A really lovely hotel with charming and helpful staff. I have a diet problem and they were excellent in making sure that I could eat well. Dinner was always preceded by a short conference with chef and waiter, excellent service. The hotel itself is an old building from the French era. Among other things it still preserves the eighteenth century room keys. They are about nine inches long. The restaurant is on the roof with a roof over but open around the sides; as I arrived with a cyclone dining that night was quite an experience. The rooms are large and comfortable with a great deal of character, I had no difficulty sleeping. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for it not only provides wonderful accommodation but a true experience of the essence of Pondicherry. Enjoy your stay!

A CGH Earth is a mansion hotel set in the french quarter near to the wide promenaded beachfront. The 18 rooms were spacious with high ceilings, and featured its distinct mustard-yellow walls. Due to the compact nature of the hotel, and the fact we were only staying for two nights, we never used the central courtyard swimming pool which in hindsight was a mistake. When checking-in guest were given a lovely drink which had chia seeds and a great taste. Breakfast was delightful and catered to all tastes. The restaurant was open on three sides to allow the air to flow and give great views, and served Indo-French cuisine.

The hotel is beautiful and close to all the great cafes and restaurants in Puducherry. Also close to the sea front. Lovely spacious rooms, great comfortable beds. Lovely pool. Renovations currently going on but doesn’t detract from the lovely experience we had. Friendly helpful staff, always keen to have a chat with you and check alls ok!

Since 2003 we are spending our winter holiday (January–February) in South India and mostly at CGH Earth properties. They are eco-friendly, charming, perfectly maintained and have a staff of excellence. We came back to Palais de Mahe where we had stayed 5 weeks in January–February in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2024 for a 2 months stay (8th January – 3rd March 2026). The hotel in French colonial style with classy furniture and mirrors is strategically located in the French Quarter within walking distance to the beach, key attractions, restaurants, shops and the Tamil Quarter. From the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out we experienced the gracious hospitality of general manager Dinu Ramakrishnan and his friendly and efficient staff. We stayed in Room 206 which is palatial, clean, with a large king-sized bed, a sitting area, dual air conditioning very easy to control, minibar, fans, TV, safe, WiFi, hairdryer and a very nice view on the swimming pool. The excellent breakfast served “à la carte” includes a variety of freshly prepared fruit juices, a nice fruit platter, honey, jam, butter, perfectly crisped dosas, different preparations of eggs as well as croissants, toast and curd. We opted daily for green tea and masala tea. We often went to the elegant restaurant (2nd floor) overlooking the pool on one side and the street on the other side and enjoyed a variety of South-Indian and international dishes. We especially liked: avocado salad, cilantro shrimp, tandoor chicken, curried roasted lamb shank, udon noodles, meen molee, chingri malai curry, spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti with garlic, tomatoes and mushrooms and for dessert apple tatin, tarte and also mango and stawberry icecream. At Palais they serve excellent cocktails. We mostly opted for a white town (white wine + gin + basil leaves, lemon juice + simple syrup). They also have a nice selection of indian wines our favorite were La Reserve (red) and viognier (white) wine. We daily enjoyed a very relaxing swim in the charming pool. On 25th Feb, we celebrated Jean-Paul's birthday with all the staff. Jean-Paul received beuautiful and useful gifts and flowers. GM Dinu Ramakrishnan offered a delicious fruitcake baked by Mahalakshmi. It was shared with staff. That day the housekeeping staff with the help of some members of engineering team decorated our room with pictures of Rolande, Jean-Paul and the friends at Palais. They also installed a great number of little lights which brought a festive and romantic atmosphere. A special mention is made to GM Dinu Ramakrishnan who is deeply commited to the highest standard of leadership and guides his staff to excellence. We like to pay tribute to all the staff of Palais. At reception: Fakhruddin, Jyoshna, Sai Kumar, Adrien and Bineeth ( photo 1 ) were truly outstanding and solving administrative problem and helping guests with sightseeing and shopping. Chef Kathiresan and experinced sous-chef Poornachandran guide a great set of young cooks including the passionate, talented and active Jagadesh, Murugesh, Neethu, Mahalakshmi as well as Arul, Vithya, Hari, Shahiba, Antony wilfred, Vellapandi, Akash, Suvo Debnath ( photo 2 ) At the restaurant: Johnson, Nithya, Saroj, Mugunthan, Sanjiv, Rajesh, Sayanthan, Veeraragan and Rahul ( photo 3 ) did a great job. All members of Housekeeping: (Jinto, Santhosh, Dinesh, Muthuakshmi, Datchayani, Selvi, Vijay, Arjun, Gopi, Madhavan and Uttam ( photo 4 ) always smiling accomplish their daily work to perfection and the laundry done in the house arrives the same day. A special mention to Santhosh whom we have seen flourish all over the 12 years. We know him to become a skilled and experienced housekeeping team player. He helped us each year in solving practical problems and packing and made everything possible. The very dynamic Rajesh Thamizharasan (Human Resources), the teams of Engineering and Security as well as the Accountants also play a key role in the organization of Palais de Mahe. Huge thanks to all the staff of Palais de Mahe. Warm regards, Rolande and Jean-Paul Butzler Knokke-Heist, Belgium

We had a wonderful stay here as part of a Southern India trip. The hotel is small, but beautiful, our room was well equipped with large & comfortable double bed, aircon & attached shower room. Toiletries are eco-friendly and lovely. The restaurant & food were a highlight and the service was excellent. The young chefs particularly were very interested in making sure we enjoyed the food and tried different local dishes. The pool is a lovely addition too. The area is close to the promenade & makes for an easy walking tour of White Town. Definitely stay here if you can.

What a beautiful hotel run by lovely people. This is a beautiful heritage property which is an oasis of calm in Puducherry. Very well located and a minute from the sea promenade. The rooms are well decorated and everything has been thought of. The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious and service excellent. It was the staff who really deserve praise! What an amazing team. We had a great stay! Thank you!

This hotel is a jewel ! A lot of style, staff very very friendly, helpfull, professional, and food is excellent. Best place I have been so far in India. The whole place is very clean and furnished with lots of taste. In a way simple but very stylish! Love it... a place you need to visit!!

I love heritage hotels, and this more than delivered. Well-appointed rooms and friendly efficient service. The restaurant on the second floor terrace provided a copious breakfast and delicious dinners with French flair.

We had a very good stay In January at CGH Palais de Mahe in Pondicherry. The hotel is extremely clean, well-maintained, and has a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very helpful, polite, and always ready to assist with a smile, which made the experience even better. A special mention to the food, it was absolutely amazing! The chef took extra care and even customized the dishes exactly the way we wanted, which was truly thoughtful and appreciated. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Pondicherry!

The hotel is in a great location for many sights which are within walking distance as is the seafront. Our room was by the pool and offered a blend of modern and heritage styles. We enjoyed the lovely rooftop restaurant and breakfast was a highlight. All the staff were very helpful, a special thank you to Nithya.

The best hotel I stayed in during my recent trip to India. Wonderful atmosphere, in spite of the cyclone, terrific room and excellent restaurant that fed me very well in spite of health problems. Very helpful staff and I could not have stayed anywhere better.

Stayed 2 nights as part of tour. Small and quiet despite located within the French quarter. With 18 rooms, all are quite spacious with all the charm, and pitfalls of an older colonial building. Hotel staff extremely responsive and courteous. One restaurant on top floor serves all meals; food is ok. WiFi acceptable. Rooms are clean and housekeeping does a great job keeping standards. Overall facility would be 3 star but service definitely is 4.

Wonderful experience. The staff is outstanding. The restaurant is outstanding. Everybody was really helpful. The rooms are very, very nice spacious and comfortable.

This was one of our favorite hotels we have stayed in. Ambiance, food, friendliness of staff- everything was perfect. We loved the elegant decor and spacious room. Food was so nice the first night we decided to have all our meals there. We have travelled a bit in India and usually stay at the larger luxury chains but we now think we will always stay at the CGH properties. We want to come back to pondicherry just to stay in this hotel!

The stay at this property is excellent. Friendly and helpful staff! Easy checking. Clean and comfortable period room with a pool view. Very comfortable bed. Fully functioning A/C. Washroom and shower worked properly and are aesthetically pleasing. Well-supplied minibar is convenient. The area is wonderful. It is only a 3 minute walk to the seawall, and a 10 minute walk to the Gandhi Memorial and the Lighthouse. The restaurant serves delicious Indian meals and proper western dishes. The breakfasts are great! This is definitely a good value.

We stayed in this old colonial building as part of a tour group. We had a ground floor room directly adjacent to the small pool. The room was large, clean and well appointed. Very comfortable. Breakfast was included and was interesting in that the selection appeared to change each day. Ordering was from a blackboard. The restaurant was on the 2nd floor and open to the elements fairly well when we were there. Which was nice. There's also a small bar on the same floor. My wife had a red wine which was served cold. Interesting. My pina colada was fine. Front of house staff were helpful and friendly. Tipping is not done for individuals but a tip to be shared by all staff can be left in a box at reception. Great idea.

Our stay was amazing! Highly recommend! The staff was incredible. Every person went out of their way to make us feel cared for. A special shout out to Ambarish & Santish at the front deck who were incredibly warm. The manager of the property was also very kind and attentive. Our driver Ambrose was fantastic. Always on time and full of local insights. Sayanthan at the bar made each evening feel special. Our room was so tastefully designed and had all the right amenities. Every corner of the hotel exemplified care and cleanliness. And the food...OMG...was incredible. Every meal was a masterpiece. Chef Jagdeesh would come out and personally checked on the guests to make sure everyone was well-fed. He had a very humble and sweet demeanor too. The food was so good that we couldn't resist signing up for a cooking class, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The spa deserves some special kudos. We indulged in treatments every day, and the staff were simply the best. The ayurvedic treatments and massages were some of the best we have ever had. As two women traveling together, we felt completed safe and cared for. The hotel attracts lovely guests as well which made the whole atmosphere amazing. There is also great nearby shopping like Anokhi and Chintz. Palais de Mahe gave us memories we'll truly cherish forever. It was a trip of a lifetime filled with kindness, comfort, and joy. We can't wait to come back. And next time bringing the whole family.

Enjoyed our stay. We were very well looked after by a caring crew. At all times we were greeted with so many smiles ! Enthusiasm to speak about history or help to suggest a guide or hail a taxi were contagious. Felt always pampered during our 3 night stay.

I visited this property in September 17-20 ‘2025. Staff here is very very cooperative. CGH culture clearly visible. I will strongly recommend the travellers to stay here and enjoy the stay and food. Adequate food variety in the menu to choose from. Try South Indian meals during lunch. Since property is located near Rock beach one can easily reach beach and experience the sea breeze. No more word - I am extremely satisfied and looking forward to visit this place again. Few names worth mentioning Reception Shyam Abhimanyu Jyoshna Fakhru F & B Saroj Nitya Shantvanu Kitchen SitaNitu Antony Tamizh Chef Kadir Vidya They all are there smiling and keep warmth during your stay.

Top notch hospitality with friendly helpful staff. Definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay. Accessible to nearby activities.

Though it’s a newly constructed hotel, it follows a vintage architecture very earnestly - the high ceiling, the colonial furniture, and grand father clocks all reminiscent of the rich history of Pondicherry. Staff, at front desk and restaurant are very courteous without being overbearing. Overall we had a lovely time and our three year old enjoyed the stay in “hotel house” very much!

Excellent Property is very quite, neat and clean. Staff are very friendly are very helpful. Property is located near to rock beach. Food quality of restaurant is Good. great options for breakfast.

Very charming centrally located boutique hotel. Comfortable well equipped rooms, lovely surroundings, and very attentive and friendly staff, especially Shyam and Joshyna

There is a lot to like about Palais de Mahe. The location is fantastic, the property is beautifully renovated and has the signature CGH Earth touches throughout, the staff is lovely, the food is good, and the pool is great. However, as of August 2025, they appear to be working on a major expansion of the hotel, the result of which is horrendously loud construction starting *before 8am* and making the public spaces of the hotel unusable on occasion. Even more surprising is the complete lack of heads up or acknowledgment from the property about the noise and disruption. I am a regular in Pondicherry and in many ways this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at here. I would love to stay here again— but the lack of communication from the hotel about the noise makes me hesitant. What if I return to be surprised by some other significant disruptive issue? TripAdvisor doesn’t allow video uploads but I measured the sound levels at around 90 decibels, to give you a sense of exactly how loud the construction is.

This is a lovely hotel in a great part of town - right next to the beach and promenade. The food is amazing and the staff is really good. However, the hotel occupies half of a larger building. And the remaining half is currently undergoing significant renovation. I'm talking about power tools, drills and hammering - everyday starting from 9am till the afternoon. The sound was so loud that it was difficult to hear anyone talk. And the cacophony wasn't limited to the rooms - you could hear the noise from the dining area, pool area etc. I talked to management but all they said was that the construction was not under their control, and that they couldn't do anything about it. Don't get me wrong - this is a great hotel and you absolutely should visit it. But make sure you don't set foot in it until the renovation is complete!

A very nice boutique hotel. Cosy and tasteful decor. One feels at peace inside the property. Very well located close to the beach and sea. Nice indoor swimming pool. Courteous and professional staff. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast spread is excellent. However, need to improve the food, which was not so good.

Extremely friendly staff and and a great colonial design

Great stay. Great hotel. Staff (especially Adrien) are super polite, professional, and helpful. One of the best hotel stays I have ever had.

This Hotel is very close to the beach promenade. Rooms are spacious. Swimming is good. Good breakfast. Staff are courteous. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Property is very neat and clean. Staff is very friendly Specially Shyam and Jagdish are very helpful. Property is located in white town and near to rock beach. Food quality of restaurant is very Good. Limited options for breakfast but after you eat thm you will say waoooo

Perfect rooms , good sleep quality, lovely organic toiletry , amazing food, and super service.. the restaurant with the terrace and breakfast was amazing, the front office helpful with information on things to do. Had a lovely time by the pool and enjoyed with friends, central location in White town and beach is a block away. Lovely old embroidery workshop close by run by nuns.

A hotel that always makes you feel at home! A home away from home. All the staff are wonderful and make sure you are always comfortable The best place to stay in Pondicherry. Food is excellent and the cleanliness is of the highest level. Great location. Special mention to Mr Dinu and chef . The food is excellent and bar well stocked. Been coming here atleast once a year for over 10 years

We stayed briefly at the CGH Earth Palais de Mahe on the pretty city of Pondicherry. It has a heritage feel but is a reproduction and a modern building. It’s in an excellent location, just one block from the sea front with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Check in was smooth and efficient, check out was the same. There is a very small pool in the central courtyard, sadly not used by anyone during our stay as there was major building works in the property next door, so lots of noise from early until late evening. The neighbourhood in general is quite noisy so light sleepers will need to be prepared. Pondicherry seems to be the site of a lot of new building now. We ordered lunch from the café near Reception. The food was average and the service a little slow. Dinner and breakfast were available in the restaurant terrace at the top of the hotel. We had a very good fish dinner and breakfast the next morning was very good, with cereal, toast, coffee, tea, eggs, fruit and many other options made to order. Service can take a little while but is very attentive and the terrace is a very nice setting to enjoy your meals. Choices were on a blackboard in the restaurant. Authentic French pastries would be a welcome addition in this former French colony. Our room was large and comfortable, with a wardrobe, a small safe, a good-sized bathroom, decent Wi-Fi, a TV with international channels, tea and coffee making facilities and air conditioning. The doors were old with large gaps, so bugs may get in, but the hotel did provide plug in anti-mosquito aerosol. Overall, we liked our time at the Palais de Mahe, it’s strong environmental and preserving the city’s heritage and we found it a convenient base to explore the city.

Such a perfectly located property in Puducherry which constantly has people outside clicking pictures (always makes you feel nice to walk in :-) ) The coridors are beautiful, rooms are well appointed and the swimming pool is a good place to chill in the heat. Have to highlight the amazing breakfast which is one of the best I’ve had in a while. They have 3-4 dishes which are the key highlight each day and everything tasted perfect (guava smoothie, Spanish frittata etc) along with the usual fixings. This is my second stay in a CGH earth property and I would go to any other property in a heartbeat.

My husband and I spent 2 days at this beautiful property- it is situated right in the heart of the French Quarter and just up from the beach. The room we had was huge with a private balcony overlooking the pool. The hotel is immaculate with beautiful features. We ate in the restaurant each night and thoroughly enjoyed dinner- The staff are absolutely fantastic- everyone was so helpful- as soon as we would return to the hotel we were given a cold drink. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This is an exquisite hotel in the old French town in Pondicherry. Although not a heritage hotel, hotel, to their credit, made it a point to make it look so. Kudo. The rooms are luxurious and have all the amenities one would want. The from office staff, two men and a woman whose names I will add in when have access to the paper, were kind, courteous and super-helpful. I had a wonderful time!!!

Actually, we really enjoyed a lot in this hotel with great rapid service and food are so good and delicious i hope I could come here for the only food I guess and I hope and I loved the service of breakfast too so I hope everyone should come here at once thank you …….

Amazing hotel in all respects: location could not be better placed in the French Quarter and near the beach, all staff members we exceptional, quality, warmth and professionalism of service, wonderful atmosphere, amazing food - both variety and quality, rooms are just stunning, pool area beautiful and many facilities available.... everything impressive and special. I've travelled extensively around the world and have never felt more welcome, safe and comfortable. Thank you to the entire team.

We stayed here as part of our Southern India trip and our 2 day visit to Pondicherry. Its quite an iconic hotel in the area with many Indian tourists taking selfies outside the front of the hotel. Its well positioned in the tourist area and close to the beach promenade. We were met with garlands of flowers and a cool drink. The room was clean and with efficient AC. It opened out onto the area next to the pool and had 2 chairs and a table outside so you could sit and read, drink etc. There were windows at the back of the bedroom but they open up into a small internal type shaft that gave no view. We had an evening meal here which was lovely and both breakfasts were decent quality with lots of choice. There is a small bar on the 2nd floor next to the open air restaurant. We had a drink from there but took it on the tables outside as the was not a lot of atmosphere in the bar. We used the swimming pool but space is restricted for sunbeds with only 8 beds available. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

Quality hotel, beautiful room, great service..good food. The rooms are wonderful , the staff are friendly, attentive and good company. Breakfast is excellent quality and great choice. All this Veeraragavan is the best Gin Fizz maker in India 🇮🇳. Fantastic stay

We had a wonderful stay at this delightful property . Our room had an enormous terrace overlooking the pool. Big shout out to absolutely all the friendly team who made us feel so special .we ate every meal during our 3 day stay on the rooftop terrace , the food was exceptionally good . This hotel is so popular everyone has a selfie outside ! Would definitely recommend a stay if you are visiting Pondicherry.

We realised during our holiday, CGH hotels provide excellent hotels with great atmosphere and friendly welcoming and engaging staff. On the whole these hotels been faultless , especially this one. As soon as you arrive at this hotel in the French part of Pondicherry, you soon realise everyone wants their photo taken outside this hotel (so funny). Initial welcome friendly and welcoming. Hotel is beautiful with pool in the court yard. ( my only comment would be the water was rather chilly). Being in the French part, coffee bar served excellent coffee. Lift to the our room which was beautiful, clean and well designed. Restaurant on the rood top, staff excellent and good choice of food. Food was excellent with local foods. Bar had a sitting area inside or outside over looking the inner court yard. We throughly enjoyed this stay and would return .

This was the first stop of our New Year trip to India, staying in CGH earth properties. Situated in the heart of the French Quarter of Puducherry, Palais de Mahe is a short walking distance from the beach. The hotel is so beautiful that people take selfies of themselves outside the front door. In keeping with the overall appearance of the hotel our room gave the feel of French architecture and was spacious, with high ceilings. Amazing appearance and comfort. Of the many highlights the pool and restaurant that is situated on a terrace, deserve a mention. The food in terms of quality and variety was exceptional. What impressed us the most was the staff and the quality service they provided, it was just excellent. From arranging airport pickup/transfer to a visit to the Auroville Matrimandir (Golden Globe) we felt in good hands. We couldn’t have picked a better hotel to start our holiday and celebrate the New Year.

As part of our 2 night stay at the Palais de Mahe we enjoyed a great market visit guided by the Hotels chef Kathii and a brilliant master class on the cooking of 3 South Indian recipes. This was led by Assistant Chef Jadagesh, whose personality and teaching approach made the whole morning extremely enjoyable. Our culinary efforts were then served to us as part of a delicious 4 course lunchtime feast. Delicious!! A very worthwhile experience for all foodies.

Just had 2 nights in the Palais and it was perfect: lovely period building, amazing staff, great food (lovely roof top terrace restaurant) and perfect location: absolutely the best place to stay in Puducherry. Lots of activities organised on demand.

We had a great stay over the New Year celebrations in Pondicherry. Very lively! The hotel was perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice accommodation and lovely food. Thanks for the New Year’s Eve dancing and music and wonderful food and drinks.

Fine location, right in the middle of the tourist French Town. Rooms are spacious, high ceilings and give a feel of the French architecture. The pool is the highlight and service is good. The cafe on the ground floor is basic but the restaurant is good. There was also a book launch event in the lobby which added to the experience.

Great hotel . Great ambience . Great food and great staff . What more can you want. It’s close. To the beach and right in the middle of the French quarter . Real French feel to this old building. The restaraunt in the tarrace is wonderful and food so tasty

This hotel is so beautiful that people take selfies of themselves outside the front door. It is about 100 yards from the Ocean, and in the middle of the old French city. It is convenient for the shops and the sights. Our room, and the others that we saw, were gorgeous. Large, high ceilinged, with chairs, tables and the most enormous double bed. The room opened onto the colonnade with a view of the lovely pool below. We ate at the top of the hotel, where the breeze from the Indian Ocean kept us cool, and the food was a fusion of French and Indian. A wonderful choice, especially at breakfast. There is a pleasant bar, which does beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. Coming in from the street means walking into a cool and calm interior, past all the selfie-takers, where you find the desk with the unfailingly polite and helpful staff. This was by far the nicest hotel of our 3 week stay in southern India. I would love to stay again, and if I am ever in Pondicherry it will be my first choice. Anyone giving this fewer than 5 stars wants their head examining.

Great hotel with swiming pool

Hotel location is great, clean, well kept. Excellent service, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. One minor issue is that part of the hotel is under construction, leading to noise pollution during day hours. Otherwise excellent hotel. I Highly recommend this hotel for your next trip to Pondicherry.

Fantastic property. Everything walking distance from there. Super friendly and very knowledgeable staff. The GM takes personal interest in the guests. He spent lot of time with us showing us where to go etc. Defintely plan to go back here.

Beautiful heritage property with excellent customer service. Location is beautiful, a stones throw from the Ocean and with many dining options at walkable distance.

Brilliant experience. Great staff - courteous, professional and very friendly. We would go back to this property - very eco friendly and they support local artists.

We loved our stay. Good ambience, healthy yet sumptuous breakfast, great service and close to the beach. Will surely recommend this property to all

Beautiful building and surroundings; lovely and helpful staff

It was a pleasant stay with the hotel. Overall, experience was good. More amenities and furniture would be appreciated. Break fast should be more elaborate than what was offered. Staff was friendly and quick to respond.

The stay was comfortable and good. Location of the hotel is very good. However they need to work on their food menu.

Great place

Great location, great service & comfortable rooms. Almost feel like you're staying in a small Parisian town. Loved my stay overall!!

We have loved this hotel but would have prefered with pool open.

Very clean and tidy, great service, good food. What more do you want?

This is a particularity excellent hotel. Everything was outstanding.

Stunning building, room was enormous and very nicely fitted out. Staff were very friendly, great pool

Absolutely wonderful property right in the heart of White town in Pondicherry. It’s perfectly located right by the promenade which is ideal for evening strolls. A tranquil spot with lovely staff.

The property is lovely but I think fairly pricey for a 3*** hotel. That being said, enjoyed a lovely dinner at the rooftop restaurant and they loan out bikes free of charge! Much nicer to explore the town by bike on a hot day!

Beautiful hotel, classy rooms, good service, nice pool, helpful and warm staff-they even wave goodbye at the door!

Excellent stay. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Staff was helpful and gave suggestions on what to do and what to eat. Location was very good and walking distance from all good restaurants and Ashram and shops. Breakfast was nice at the rooftop place with good variety of Indian food and continental options. Will like to stay again if we visit to Pondicherry.

Clean and cozy room, swimming pool depth was good. Lobby staffs are really kind, except that I was given misinformation on several travel information such as time, price etc.. but it's Okay.

Fantastic place for out two day visit! Very helpful staff.

This Hotel is just 5 years old but they built in Antique French style. Classy and elegant look with much bigger room space and bathroom. Only disappointment was Food. Menu for Dinner and Breakfast was very limited and Food taste bad....

Stayed 2nights. Could not sleep because many car horns. Asked to change more quiet room. Need to sleep well.

Very nice location. Traditional style in classic look but very new rooms and building. Beautiful rooms, bathrooms and pool. Friendly staff. Limited breakfast options. They let us check out late which was very much appreciated. A bit pricey and not exactly my crowd but I would certainly go back. Loved the high ceilings in the guest rooms.

Magical moment on stepping into the hotel: peaceful, cool and welcoming. The courtyard pool was exquisite as was our room and the dining experience on the rooftop terrace in the evening. The same rooftop terrace was rather too hot for lunch to be comfortable but does catch the sea breeze so fine at breakfast time. All in all a real gem! The staff are delightful too and the awareness of environmental issues was also very good to see. I would definitely return!

Very nice hotel in the heart of Whitetown. Modern standard within old colonial style building, nicely decorated, great pool and very friendly and helpful staff for whatever you may need help for. The only improvement suggestion is to hurry up a bit in the kitchen, it takes a bit too long to prepare. Great place to stay

Very nice hotel in the heart of Whitetown (wrong location given on the map during booking), it is actually much better placed, closer to the beach promenade, ideal to discover the colonial centre of Pondicherry. Very clean and comfortable, nice swimming pool, staff extremely nice and helpful for whatsoever problem; only hic-up for us, overpriced extra bed and extra breakfast. But very recommendable

Fantastic short stay at Palais de Mahe. Kudos to the management for the cleanliness, staff training etc.. Only hindrance was, signal on mobile phone was nil/weak inside the hotel(Wifi works ggod). The roof-top restaurant and the pool were awesome.

Schönes Hotel im French Quarter mit sehr freundlichem Service und Roof Top Restaurant

Beautiful property great architecture very good service full marks to owners

Loved the place, staff and ambiance, just wish the off season rates are brought down so that more people can enjoy this well done up boutique hotel

Really good experience inspite of the terrible heat wave in Pondy

Un hôtel très agréable, bien équipé, le seul disposant d'une piscine au centre de Pondichery. La cuisine du restaurant est délicieuse, idem les cocktails servis au bar. Personnel très efficace et très attentionné.

Good rooms / staff was welcoming and very helpful/ great location. Will stay again when we visit Pondicherry again

My stay was comfortable and relaxing.

The hotel is very nice But one thing is not OK There is an awful Green plastic mersh in front of all the rooms ( to hide the jungle of the house next door ) And the price was high with Expédia

Två dagar i Pondicherry för att uppleva staden och besöka Aeroville. Underbart hotel.

Tres chic! Everything about this hotel is gorgeous & the staff are so good at what they do. Best hotel ever :)

Hier in diesem Hotel stimmt einfach alles.

Drilling noise from neighbouring building work when we arrived, and the following morning, but this stopped when we asked for something to be done. Very helpful staff, always willing to offer advice and suggestions. Excellent food in the restaurant. Beautiful spacious bedroom and bathroom. Thoroughly recommended and we will definitely return.

We loved it there. We spent only 1 night...Had hoped for 3 but they were full. Beautiful charming hotel, a relaxing oasis in busy Pondicherry. Can't wait to go back.

It was a great stay over 2 nights, 100% perfect on everything like cleanliness, service, amenities, and location. Also breakfast and dinner we enjoyed very much.

Très belle hôtel avec une très belle chambre parfaitement décorée. Personnel de l'hôtel adorable. Une très belle piscine bienvenue après une journée sous la chaleur.
