Ella Blue Heaven

Frühstück war gut und wurde aufs Zimmer gebracht. Die Lage war sehr ruhig und mit schönem Blick auf das grüne Tal. Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich und stets hilfsbereit.

Die Badezimmer, sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Comfortable beds and very clean room. Excellent and fast communication with the owner, who helped us arrange transport and dinner delivery. We really enjoyed the balcony and having breakfast while admiring the views.

We (2 females) didn’t feel very safe during our stay as the doors don’t have a lock, only a weak and small sliding bolt. We didn’t sleep comfortably because of this. Low water pressure but that seems quite common in Sri Lanka.

La pression de la douche était très, très faible et l’emplacement était difficile d’accès car très en hauteur de la ville avec des petits chemins pas du tout bien entretenus (ce n’est pas la faute de l’hôtel mais ça rend l’accès assez compliqué)

Struttura immersa nella giungla con un ampio balcone dove fare colazione e cenare. Interno della camera semplice e pulito. Colazione incredibile. Essendo leggermente fuori dal centro di Ella e raggiungibile solo con tuktuk, noi abbiamo cenato qui e ci è stata preparata una cena deliziosa a base di curry vegetariano e di pollo con riso. La proprietaria e tutto lo staff sono gentilissimi e disponibili.

Pand is wat afgelegen en (ondanks op wandelafstand Ella centrum) moeilijk bereikbaar met auto. Gastheer voorzag echter (gratis) tuk tuks bij check in om gezin en bagage beneden op te halen (idem bij check out) wat we ten zeerste apprecieerden. Ook gedurende dag kon je ten allen tijde beroep doen op gastheer om tuk tuk te regelen (via whatsapp) dus dat verliep bijzonder vlot. Uitgebreid ontbijt op t terras s morgens. Gezinskamers zijn basic (bv geen airco) maar ruim, zeer proper en met een mooi overdekt terras. Ideaal voor wie logement enkel gebruikt voor overnachting en verder gans de dag de regio verkent. Ben je eerder van plan om veel tijd door te brengen in uw hotel, dan adviseer ik logies met iets meer comfort ( bv zwembad want zelfs in Juli was t bijzonder warm overdag).

Geen bemerkingen. Logement was in lijn met verwachtingen en goede prijs / kwaliteit verhouding.

Alles :-) es ist ein schönes Häuschen, etwas abseits und trotzdem nicht weit vom Zentrum. Rundherum grün und ruhig. Das Zimmer war tip top, wir hatten alles was wir brauchten. Super tolles Frühstück. Nette Gastgeber die man jederzeit kontaktieren darf, bei Fragen, Tuk Tuk Service etc.

The location was great, quiet but not far from the main street bars and restaurants (short tuk tuk ride). The best view ever, great breakfast served at the balcony.

The room is massive with two big double beds. It's new, well-appointed and spotless. The views from the balcony are a treat and eating breakfast (very tasty) there is an experience in itself. The service, in terms of logistics (eg organising free tuk tuks for our arrival and departure) and service at breakfast is superb: the two guys working there were super friendly and professional. Very sarisfied!

It is a little way out of town, which makes it lovely and quiet but also means that you need a tuk tuk or you have quite a walk to get anywhere

Heel leuk huisje met prachtig zicht op het landschap. Vriendelijke mensen die echt hun best doen om het je zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Iets verwijderd van het centrum, maar met de tuktuk (die je gewoon via whatsapp kan aanvragen aan de mensen van de accomodatie), sta je zo in het centrum. Echt genoten van de rust. Elke ochtend wordt er vers ontbijt gemaakt dat geserveerd wordt op je terras.

Beautiful location in the middle of nature, quite far from town so be prepared for that. Our family prefers quiet places so we were happy to travel to Ella.

The location is great with a fantastic view of the mountains and waterfall. Hosts were wonderful and responsive, organising laundry and tuk tuks for us. Tuk Tuks were 1000 rupees to the main street, but there are also some family run places to eat in easy walking distance. The room was clean with heaps of space and a balcony facing the view. Breakfast was brought to the balcony each morning and included fruit, yogurt, Sri Lankan food, toast, eggs, coffee, tea, juice... so good! We traveled as a family with two kids and they loved exploring around and checking out the wildlife (lizards, birds, peacocks etc.)

Be aware of the tuk-tuk scam before booking! The hotel itself is in a nice, peaceful location, and the breakfast was good. However, there is one major issue that completely ruined the experience for us. You cannot reach the hotel by car, so you are forced to use a tuk-tuk for the last few minutes of the journey. A normal ride should cost around 250 LKR, but there is clearly a monopoly here, and they charge 1,000 LKR per trip. The hotel only includes one free ride on arrival and one on departure, no matter how many nights you stay. Every other trip to or from Ella town costs the inflated price. This is something that should be made very clear before booking because it adds a significant extra cost to your stay. If I had known about this in advance, I would have booked a different hotel. The hotel and breakfast are good, but the transportation arrangement completely outweighs the positives. I would not stay here again.

We loved the peace and quiet, the views, breakfast on the balcony, the staff were so friendly, and obliging, helping us out where we needed . We were picked up from the station and taken to accommodation, you really need to get a tuktuk as road was steep and rough but not an issue to the accommodation.

My one and only issue was there were no rails going up to the property, fine for young ones, I am 75 years young and just found the steps somewhat scary as they were very uneven.

We had an amazing stay! The view was incredible, and the breakfast was very good. The room was comfortable, clean. The owner is very kind. Transportation to the accommodation was arranged by tuk-tuk, which worked perfectly and made getting around very easy and convenient.

Had a wonderful stay at Ella Blue Heaven for two nights. The view from the property is absolutely breathtaking and easily one of the best parts of the stay. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, making the experience even more relaxing. The hosts were incredibly warm, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality truly made us feel at home. And the breakfast was absolutely amazing; fresh, delicious, and the perfect way to start the day while enjoying the beautiful view. Highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Ella!

Je to ubyovanie veľmi kľudné , tiché s krásným vyhľadom na kaskadovité políčka a vodopád, domáci su milí a ústrstoví, raňajky nam pripravili veľmi chutné. Nam sa tam velmi pačilo boli sme v centre prirody.

Chybali nam trochu úložné priestory,ale nebol to veľky problém.

Naprosto krásné místo, jen v pokoji není klimatizace.

Jediné mínus je cesta k hotelu, offroad. Měli jsme řidiče s vanem, který se ale k hotelu nedostal, protože cesta byla úzká, rozbitá, klikatá - z hlavní ulice jsme museli jet tuktukem. Nemají to nikde uvedené, aby s tím člověk počítal.

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit Terrasse und traumhaftem Blick. Das leckere Frühstück wird auf der Terrasse serviert. Hilfsbereite und nette Gastgeber.

Ist etwas abgelegen und die letzten ca. 500 m fahren die meisten Fahrer nicht mehr, da der Weg schlecht ist - Umstieg auf Tuk Tuk notwendig. Ist aber kein Problem, die Gastgeber organisieren die Tuk Tuks.

Was für eine Aussicht. Toll. Mit dem PKW nicht wirklich erreichbar. Tuktuk Transport war Inclusive. Per WhatsApp angefragt und wir wurden, für kleines Geld nach Elle gefahren. Lecker Frühstück, Wäscheservice. Herzlichen Dank für Euere Gastfreundschaft. 🙏

Hidden away from the main road in Ella, the 5 minute tuk tuk ride will take you to a tranquil part of Ella where you can watch the peacocks and waterfalls from the balcony. Room is a good size, very clean, and comes with a fridge and kettle. Our hosts were very responsive to messages, handled our laundry, and refreshment requests. They also prepared two different breakfast meals for our two night stay - our favourite was the Sri Lankan breakfast (they make great hoppers and sambal).

Although the bathroom is a good size, it's a wet room so the floor has to be dried with a squeegee after showering (they do provide a big one). The bathroom window is also a metal mesh grating which is not a problem during the warm time of year we went - perhaps not pleasant during the winter months.

I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Amazing hospitality, incredible value, and the best views. We had the deluxe family room (on the top level). Highlights for us included: - A gorgeous deck with views over misty mountains, the waterfall, fields. Great for relaxing and bird watching. - Delicious breakfast served on the deck each morning at a time that works for you. - Hosts were happy to help over WhatsApp when needed to book tuktuks and answer questions - Good recommendations for where to eat and the option of a home cooked chicken curry and rice which was so yum and made for a relaxing evening. - Free tuktuk back to the station at the end of our stay. In case it’s useful for anyone to know - it’s walkable to town for most people but a tuktuk is easier, especially if it’s hot. The road is narrow and bumpy. We arrived by car and our driver made it but the hosts will also arrange a tuktuk to meet you at the end of the road if not. We loved staying here and everything felt so easy. Thanks for everything!

Pas de clim

这家民宿距离市中心热闹的餐厅有些距离，需要步行差不多半小时，白天还好，晚上就太黑了，只能坐突突车，但是我们当天吃完饭拦了一辆车，司机是位老先生，他直接打电话给民宿，然后跟我们说这人是他朋友，他免费送我们去，最后到民宿后我们给他车费，他坚决不要，真是很热心的人。 早餐也不错，阳台宽敞，工作人员很热情。

山路不好走，但是住在这里空气很好，非常安静，除了吃饭购物远，其他没毛病。

The location is definitely the most beautiful thing, surrounded by greenery with a fantastic view from the terrace, which is very large and where we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast with a view. We recommend the first-floor apartment, which has a better view. The room is also very large, furnished, and comfortable. The staff is very kind and attentive, everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

Udsigt, service, value for money

La vue est magnifique, on entend plein d'animaux. C'est isolé mais très paisible. On voit et entend meme la cascade au loin. La chambre est très confortable et le personnel adorable ! On serait bien resté plus !

Personnel aux petits soins, comme tous les sri lankais rencontrés en 15 jours... Un peu difficile d'accès, mais un service de tuk tuk est assuré, très bien.

Perhaps the downstairs bathroom is a bit out of date. But it is clean.

La habitación es sencilla, pero el ventanal y la terraza con vistas a la cascada y montaña es maravillosa. Por la mañana solo se escuchan los pájaros y pavos reales.

Está muy alejado, a 2 km de la calle principal, pero inviable para ir andando. El camino es muy complicado para llegar, pero una vez allí, estás en el paraíso. De todos modos, si lo necesitas (nosotros teníamos coche) te organizan los traslados.

Sehr ruhige Lage mit Ausnahme der Bahn, was aber nicht weiter stört. Grandiose Aussicht vom Balkon, auf dem man auch das tolle Frühstück genießen darf. Das wird frisch und abwechslungsreich zur gewünschten Zeit zubereitet.

Die Lage erfordet es, dass man immer ein Tuk Tuk braucht, um in den Ort zu kommen, da es zu Fuß praktisch zu weit ist (> 30 Minuten).

Prachtige mooie schone kamer, ruim, netjes. En het uitzicht is fenomenaal. Je kan de hele dag op het terras zitten en kijken, ook naar de tuktuks en voetgangers die zo af en toen voorbij komen, de waterval. De eigenaren, jonge jongens, zijn ontzettend behulpzaam en aardig. Locatie is wat afgelegen, waardoor de tuktuks wat duurder uitvallen (800-1000 rupees per rit) maar je zit wel heerlijk rustig midden in natuur, wat welkom is als je in het drukke en toeristische ella bent geweest. Aanrader!

Magnifique endroit dans la nature et le calme. Le personnel est très réactif et attentif à tout. Le petit déjeuner est très bon et copieux. La chambre familiale est spacieuse et propre et la terrasse très agréable. L'hôtel est à une vingtaine de minutes à pieds du centre (balade sympa) mais si on préfère l'hôtel trouve un tuk tuk rapidement et on rejoint le centre en 5min. Chaudement recommandé !

- Der står på booking.com at der er aircondition, hvilket der ikke var. - sengetøj mv var beskidt med krummer/snavs på sengen ved ankomst. - Der var noget med sengelinned der gjorde at vi alle fik knopper og kløe - Der var flere huller i myggenettet. - Der kravlede mange dyr på værelset, bl.a. flere kakerlakker.

The beautiful outlook of the property and the staff

The road getting to and from town was a very rough stretch of road and tuk tuks were hard to get. Luckily the owner has a tuk tuk and will organise you a paid trip into town.

The location and view are stunning. It was just out the busy center but a nice walk of about 20 min. The host is most kind and helpful, the place very clean and spacious. The balcony is the best place we had to relax and take in the beautiful nature of this lovely area.

The view on the balcony is stunning. You have an unobstructed view of the beautiful nature, including waterfalls. You can also see the train driving through the mountains. Having breakfast on your own terrace with this amazing view was amazing. Everything was well maintained and the WiFi was fast. The staff were very friendly. Whenever we wanted to go to the Main Street, we messaged them and they would drive us there with their tuk tuk or call us one. This is the perfect place to relax in a peaceful environment, while still being close to a lot of very nice and trendy restaurants.

Ella Blue Heaven is a super charming little hotel in a magical location just outside Ella. We had breathtaking views of a beautiful waterfall and the nearby railway – a truly unique and peaceful setting. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the staff were amazing – always ready to help with anything we needed, from transport to drinks or any request we had. Their kindness and warm service made us feel right at home. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Ella. Highly recommended!

If you're looking to get away from the busy town and want to go hiking to Ella Rock or visit the waterfalls, this is an awesome place to stay! You can hear the sounds of nature, see the waterfall, and even spot some wild birds from here. The place is well-equipped with essentials like shampoo and body wash. Breakfast is a big Western-style meal—really filling and tasty. Even though it’s a bit off the main road, getting a tuk tuk is super easy anytime, so getting around isn’t a problem. The two hosts are super friendly and full of energy—really appreciate their great service!

It would be even better if there was air conditioning to match the price.

The view was very beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They prepared a delicious breakfast for us to take away since we were leaving at 5 o'clock. Always with a smile.

The road to arrive to the property is in bad condition.

We stayed in the family room with a balcony and views of the waterfall. It's the perfect spot to have breakfast, surrounded by nature. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was very tasty with large portions and they accommodated our vegan request. The accommodation was very clean, probably the cleanest amongst all the places we stayed in Sri Lanka. And the family was super nice and helpful. They also provided tuk tuk rides when needed at a very good price. I recommend asking the host to provide a tuk tuk to get to the accommodation from the main Ella road, which is about 5 min. The access with a regular car is not great. You can also walk if you don't have big bags. It takes about 20 minutes.

The property is in a quiet location in an absolutely beautiful setting. The town and restaurants are close by and you can either walk or get a tuck tuk for about 2 dollars. The breakfast was also really good.

We had a lovely stay at Blue Heaven. The view from the room was stunning, you can see the waterfall and the train from there. Breakfast was incredible, and even better its bought up to the room for you to enjoy on the balcony.

It was about 10-15 mins by car/tuk tuk into Ella along a bumpy road, which wasnt an issue but you have to allow extra travel time. Most places around Ella are very spread out so this would be common.

The views from the terrace are simply breathtaking — you could easily spend hours just soaking it all in. From the peaceful sight of the waterfall in the distance to the daily parade of wildlife (monkeys swinging through the trees, peacocks strutting by), it's like watching nature's theatre unfold right in front of you. Breakfast was a real highlight — delicious, generous, and the perfect start to the day. The room itself was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with the mezzanine level being a big hit with the kids. It gave them their own little area to play and explore, which added an extra layer of fun to our stay. Highly recommended for families or anyone wanting to relax in a beautiful setting surrounded by nature.

Reaching the property is a bit of a trek. The road leading up to it is in poor condition, so be prepared for a bumpy ride. Also, while the room was generally clean, we did notice it hadn’t been cleaned properly behind the sofa.

The location was stunning. The views incredible. Very relaxing. You also get to see the trains go past. The family are so very helpful and kind. Vilhanga was always available at any time even though it was the New Year celebrations and many people on holiday. The breakfast on the balcony was always tasty and plentiful.

A little bit further away from the town than we originally thought BUT it was very easy and cheap to get tuk tuk into town . It also meant that the house was very peaceful away from traffic noise.

The host is super helpful and very hospitable. There is just one single track/road that goes from the main road in Ella down to the apartment, it takes around 10mins in a tuk tuk.
