It was convenient for Open Air Theatre
I reserved a parking space at the hotel and had an email chain to show this but when I got there the limited car park spaces had been given out so we had to find somewhere to park on the surrounding streets although the hotel didn’t charge for the permit to show good will
I the cost for the room was exceptional.
The price of beer wasn’t that bad but actually getting bar staff was near impossible
The bathroom was not very clean, the whole room looked like it was stuck in the 80s, the beds were very worn and wobbly you could push the bed frame out of shape, the mattress was lumpy

De bedden / matrassen
The bedroom and bathroom was clean and having sea views was gorgous
Unfortunately having a dog he told me when people were around by the corridor doors banging. Had difficulty in parking
Nice location with fantastic views, beds where comfortable, good powerful shower, good breakfast
Staff, specially the bloke of reception Sunday morning 6 sept, spoke to his guests like 💩, at one point when going in for breakfast at 7.35 where told ‘we’re not open yet! Get out! Basically felt like he was talking to a dog, wish I had said something not but was taken so much by surprise! (Were told breakfast started at 7.30 hence going down at that time)
Sea view room was stunning..... Breakfast was passible.....
Thick dust every were...... Bath was very stained No head board lamps Tv didn't get a sign but that was repaired
We had a room with a view of the sea. It was comfortable and a quick walk into town.
Nothing
Location was good. Was welcomed on arrival and the entertainment was good.
On arrival, we were informed that breakfast was £6.95 per person. However, the following morning when we approached reception to enquire, we were told by the receptionist that breakfast was £12 each. When I explained that we had been told £6.95, she replied that this was only for continental breakfast. I also pointed out that we had booked through Booking.com, where the price was clearly stated as £6.95. The only response I received was “sorry,” with no attempt to resolve the discrepancy. Despite this, I paid the £12 per person as I did not want to argue — especially as I had come away to clear my head after a recent breakdown. When I asked whether I needed a receipt to show I had paid for two breakfasts, I was told no, which later proved unhelpful. When we entered the breakfast area, no staff member approached us. I had to ask someone if we could sit down, and was told to sit anywhere. Most of the two‑person tables had no cutlery, and when I asked for fresh cutlery, I was told to “just take it from another table. The hot food selection was extremely limited, and what was available was lukewarm at best. Other guests also commented that their food was cold. Considering we paid £12 each, the quality and service fell far below what should be expected. As we passed reception afterwards, I mentioned the issues again, and once more all I received was a brief “sorry,” with no further acknowledgement, explanation, or offer to rectify the situation. This entire experience significantly impacted our stay. The lack of care, attention, and basic customer service from staff was very clear, and it left us feeling dismissed and disappointed. What should have been a simple breakfast turned into a frustrating and belittling experience.
Very reasonably priced hotel for entire bank holiday weekend in Scarborough with our dog. It's one of these seaside hotels that's quite dated but still very pleasant. A powerful shower. Great views of the sea and of the town. Very close to the castle. I'd definitely stay here again.
You have to pay to park on the hotel site but I left the car a little bit further away in a free parking area.
The view was amazing. Only a short walk into town. The reception staff, bar staff and general staff were all happy, friendly and chatty. Breakfast was superb plenty of choice and view again was amazing. Bedroom was clean. Good tea and coffee facility.
Wall thin from floor above which is expected in an old building. Room could do with an update but passing other rooms it looks like they have made a start on that. Bathroom could do with a good scrub to remove mould and cobwebs. Breakfast serving staff let the team down they were very abrupt and could learn to smile once in a while.
Excellent views , bathroom bit dated and a bit tatty here and there but comfy bed and nice staff.
Location is great (especially if you like seagulls)
Interior decor was very tried and old.
Lady on reception very helpful and polite
Room not clean, bath dirty show curtain dirty and stained , stains on carpet , window cill full of dead flies walls had marks on The whole hotel needs a massive clean and rooms need updating
Good overall nice choice
Decorating overall need a revamp
Good location
Hygiene is poor.
good location for open air theatre
Location was good
Cleanliness wasn’t great , stains on cushions , carpet and chair . Areas not cleaned and dirty . Shabby and off putting to stay in . Very different from the photos
Great place. Clean tidy modern Property. Staff all friendly and welcoming and polite.

Beautiful location and view of the bay. Friendly helpful staff
Poor nights sleep. We were in room 210, presume staff were above or maybe another guest but could hear the loud tv and walking back and forth above room all night and switching on taps/ water usage every 10 seconds. If I stayed again I would request not that room, or side of hotel as very poor nights sleep due to constant noise above.
We always enjoy it at the norbreck, it's always our first choice, staff really friendly and so helpful
Don't expect to pay for cobwebs in the Windows,!
Location, room,
It's a decent hotel, needing investment or likes of Caledonian travel using it.
Breakfast was very poor. Very greasy and not very hot
Room carpet was dirty not hoovered. Marks n stains from previous guests. Bathroom was unclean very dirty
Large single and twin rooms with sea view. Quick and easy check-in. Dining room with lovely sea views, good selection of options for breakfast. Very enjoyable evening entertainment on 3 of the 4 nights we stayed. Staff very helpful and accommodating.
A little bit tired looking, but well maintained.
Location
Not given what I paid for
Great location, fabulous views.
Nothing, we stay regularly when in Scarborough.
Fresh breakfast
Unclean bathroom Dripping shower all night Felt like a stay in a 2star
The bedroom was nice and clean
The hotel was very boring and nothing at all to do for paying guests
Breakfast was good, and that view!
Comfortable room ,great breakfast and your in Scarborough 👍

The bar was open late, breakfast was good for choice.
Bed was uncomfortable, room very hot with no fan available and only 1 pillow, felt very dated and very well used
Position
Being moved from the room given the next day to a poorer room.
nothing. The staff maybe.
So dirty, 0 or -10 score if I could. Shit stains on the carpet, holes in one wall the mesure of a fist/foot. Dirt in the bath tube, and the pictures from online are far different from what we’ve experienced.
Brilliant breakfast ,good selection of food, nice dining area.
Disliked nothing.
Everything!! On our way back now

Breakfast was very good staff are lovely.
Looks like they had painted the ceiling in the room recently because the plastic bag was still coving the fire allarm. And had to fix curtain. Otherwise good.
Breakfast was as expected
A nice comfortable room with a good sized bathroom. The panoramic view of the North Bay was fantastic.
comfortable room friendly staff Nice breakfast
over priced for one night
Great location, friendly staff, basic but decent room.
Quite noisy an night with room doors banging and other guests talking loudly in the corridor.
Staff very friendly and beautiful views from the outside/seaward side of the hotel
Furniture and fittings in the room were tired
The view was lovely
Parking breakfast room wasn't the best apart from view
Fantastic location with little to no traffic noise Gorgeous views Good size room, very comfortable Friendly welcoming staff, especially Scott who was a great laugh and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed Good quality bed linen and towels Spacious bathroom Great breakfast options and a gorgeous restaurant Outstanding value for money
A few areas are a little bit tired looking and could do with a refresh
Friendly staff Beds comfortable. Shower ok. Ideal for gig at Open air theatre, about 20min walk. Views are great!
Rooms very tired, no running hot water to have a bath, bathroom door needs sorting to shut properly. Had to move bed to turn off bedside lamp which was odd. Booked as soon as tour date announced so got a great price for a twice otherwise I wouldve been very dudappointed paying over the odds for the room as others did. Parking isnt great around the hotel, only 5 or so spaces in hotel car park. But parking on seafront was fine just be aware of the steep hill back up to hotel especially if you have any mobility as I do at the moment.
The day manager was very polite and accommodating made me feel at easy as l was travelling alone and I’m in my late 50s … I came over night stay for a concert… only complaint was couldn’t close window had to listen to seagulls most of night
Repair windows
Great staff. Good value for money. Good location but not centre. We love a walk so great for us.
Had a problem with shower but staff helpful and apologetic.
Views is great
Filthy. As I advised reception, previous person nail cuttings all over, dirty, kettle broken, no soap in room, peeling paint...an more
Location is phenomenal. Sea views amazing.
Ceiling in bathroom was damaged above the toilet. Probably after a leak but needs replastering and painting.
The location was great, very near to the open air theatre. Would stay again
Nothing, all ok
Good shower Good towels
Hotel is in desperate need of maintenence and a review of cleaning policy, although there was a painter/decorator on site all weekend working
The location was great, lovely views. Staff were really lovely helpful.
It needs some love. Drains slow whole in bedroom wall carpets, and floors need changing mattresses was a sprung one and had seen a lot of use.
My single bed could do with renewing, the springs in the mattress were uncomfortable
Great location, rooms clean and ok breakfast
Breakfast
Rooms need a bit of attention scuff marks on wall stained carpet broken bed crumbs on the bedside table when we walked in
Nothing.
The room was dirty. There was hairs in the shower and on the quilts. The paint round the window was very poor. The skirting boards behind and along the side of the beds were very dusty. The bath was all badly stained. For £161 per night was a ridiculous price then to pay another £12 each for breakfast was a joke. If we had been stopping more than one night I'm afraid we would of spoke to someone and left. Not good at all. Overall it was very dirty. The light switch to the bathroom was flickering on and off all night.
Night manager was helpful location excellent
Smell upon arrival dated rooms fire alarm going off at 7am
Hotel clean and basic , full of charm with lovely views of sea. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, they made the stay. Thankyou for a lovely stay
The views were beautiful
Every thing was great
Staff helpful
Lift not working. Bed sheets dirty. Bathroom needs updating.
Location. Friendly Staff.
Room cleaning needs attention.
Great location on sea front - walking distance to the open air theatre . Comfy bed , very helpful and welcoming man on reception .
Advertised with parking but realistically only space for a few cars, parking was a nightmare ! Very basic rooms , bathroom is very tired .
hotel was great, sea view from bedroom was great.
nothing
The staff were super helpful, and communication before I checked in was great. The room was comfy and had wonderful views over North Bay. The bed was super large, and I had a good nights rest.
Bathroom and carpets could have been cleaner. Breakfast was a let down. Buffet style ok, but the ingredients, especially sausage and beans, were not the best. Coffee from machine was not good either.
A basic hotel but clean and beds comfortable Staff friendly Breakfast decent Good value for the price
The view having breakfast
Hotel needs updating
Convenient location.
Parking poor, very limited at the hotel and surrounding streets were jam packed. The staff were helpful and friendly but the hotel is dated, and just generally a little bit unloved. It's not dirty, but could do with deep carpet cleaning and a re-paint.
I checked in around 23:30 and the night receptionist was so welcoming. The bed was so comfy and I really had a great night's sleep.
Everything was great.
Very good location, not too far from the train station and Scarborough Open Air Theatre
The room was huge and had an unexpected large balcony with views!
It was a LITTLE unclean, with a few dead daddy long legs and dead flies in the room
Great location and good facilities.
Room needed painting and updating the TV didn't work and I asked for it fixing but nothing happened and we only had 1 key and couldn't get another but wasn't told why.
Nichts
Ich habe selten ein so dreckiges Zimmer gesehen!
Nice, a bit run down.
Run down,
Location
Tired & run down. Room not serviced when requested. Hairs everywhere on the bedding & in the bathroom. Lift was filthy & I had to use as disabled. Requested a blue badge parking space 3 weeks before our stay, as advised, to be told there weren’t any, but we could park in front of the bins as long as no one was blocked in. When we arrived & asked to park in front of the bins we were told that’s not allowed. Next day, a car was parked in front of the bins !
Location Friendly staff
The room was very hot didn't sleep well because of this
Outstanding food .and hospitality .freindly down to earth staff who went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one .loved it so much we booked again for next year .
Maybe have a mini fridge in the room but no other complaints
Couldn't fault it.
Clean and cosy
All good
The breakfast was lovely and the price was very good for the are. Staff were also very good and did everything to help us. Bedding was clean
The room was very shabby, stained carpers and walls and the bathroom needed some tlc . Beds were uncomfortable and very cheap and old.
Staff were incredibly friendly, we were made aware of a small issue in our room before we checked in and were given free breakfast as a gesture of good will. Hotel in a great location for Scarborough Open Air. Buffet breakfast was nice.
The hotel is looking tired and wasn’t particularly clean. Definitely ready for a revamp. The price of £158 for a room albeit on a gig night was a lot to swallow for what we got.
Very welcoming staff and great location to the open air arena and Scarborough in general.
Not a lot of parking but that’s isn’t the fault of the hotel, it can be expected in any uk seaside resort.
The location is great and beds were comfy. Staff were nice enough.
Very dated and paid extra for sea view and had a tiny window. Room wasn’t very clean I.e skid marks left in the toilet. Breakfast was alright.
Friendly staff
Not enough towels only one set for two people, when I asked for more they said they didn't have any until they arrived later
Veiw
Climb from sea front
Ontvangst was uitermate vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
Dit hotel is niet meer van deze tijd. Vergane glorie.
The location, easy access to everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The place could do with a bit of a refurb. Especially common areas, corridors and the outside area.
The location and the views are stunning and the staff were helpful and friendly
The state of the room was abysmal with cracked wallpaper and what looked like mould near the roof above the TV, the fan that was left in the room was grotty, windows area in the bathroom looked like it was falling apart. Room needs to be sorted out and alot of tlc, don't know if all rooms are like this or if room 114 was just my bad luck to get at 140 a night I won't be going back.
Nothing much
Very run down not very clean
The only thing was the location
Everything it was dirty the staff were not very helpful room was disgusting
Not clean in the bathroom Floors had not been cleaned Lamp had stained shade TV barely worked Switched on the fan and it sent dust everywhere Shower banged and pulsed.. it needs fixing
We were there for a concert so location was good. Staff were helpful. We did have a seafacing room.
The hotel is tired, dated and dirty. We had a sink in our bedroom and not in the bathroom which is very unhygienic. The shower had mould and the extractor fan looked like it had never been cleaned. The carpet was stained and sticky. We paid £160 for one night as there was a concert, but this is a massive rip off as we should not have paid more than £60 for tired dated, dirty hotel.
Location
Room was filthy, dust, previous occupants toiletries left in bathroom, windows filthy, breakfast over cooked and poor quality
It was neat to OAT Staff were very friendly and helpful
Room 314 was very old and tired. It smelt of scale cigarettes and lots of marks on walks and carpets. Not worth the £176 at all but the bed was clean and comfy and the room served its purpose
The location was great
The room was not very clean at all
The view was great and easy to get to the hotel
You could not see out of the window in the room we were allocated (blown double glazing and very dirty Paint was hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom We put the fan on because it was hot to find we got covered in dust which was all around the carpet edge as well.
The hotel was so overpriced £178 for 1 night and then you have to pay to park. The hotel is dated, requires modernisation.
The price, the room, no parking
Comfortable bed but maybe that's because there was a mattress topper on it? Clean sheets.
There was thick dust in all corners of the rooms even my 10 year old was disgusted. Bathroom had dust around the toilet floor and bin and there was damp and leakage marks all on the ceiling and wall above the shower. ALSO, windows were filthy! Barely any milk, sugar for a cup of tea as well. There was no soap in the body wash and shampoo on the wall. I'd forgotten mine :-(
The staff were lovely and friendly. Nice breakfast. Clean room. Great location. Lovely views and nice walk to the beach and the OpenAir Theatre. Lift in property and parking permits to make up for small car park.
Could hear other guests, doors slamming etc. Chink of light coming through gap in door. Shower was a bit weird sort of chugging out and making a noise. Curtains were frayed. I think it just needs a bit of updating and for £180 a night it was slightly overpriced in that respect.
