CALAO Kep Residence Hotel vs Similar Hotels

Spacious rooms with good amenities and views.

Spacious and well-equipped rooms with beautiful designs.

Inconsistent — some rooms are well furnished with great views, while others show wear and tear (ripped curtains, broken bed frame, mould/rot around frames) reducing the overall room quality score.

Some concerns regarding noise from other guests.

Some mentions of cleanliness issues such as the cold breakfast dishes and weak internet.

Mixed but overall weak due to multiple reports of mould, stains, broken fixtures and one reviewer describing rooms as 'disgusting'; some guests did note very clean bedsheets, but serious hygiene issues lower this score.

Great location with beautiful views and access to the forest.

Outstanding — repeatedly described as beachfront/very close to the beach, great seaside views, central and convenient for the crab market and Rabbit Island; many recommend walks along the coastline.

Many mentions of attentive and helpful staff.

Consistently praised as excellent and responsive.

Generally excellent — numerous comments praise friendly, helpful staff and a particularly kind, communicative manager; one isolated complaint about an ignored refund does not reflect most guests' experiences.

Fantastic breakfast with excellent options.

Mixed reviews with some breakfast items receiving criticism for variety and temperature.

Underwhelming — several guests describe the hotel's food as 'not so good' or 'basic'; some had no major complaints but food quality is a common modest negative.

Large infinity pool and well-maintained facilities.

Good amenities with multiple pools though a few mentions of improvement opportunities.

Good overall — pleasant pool area, clean towels available, effective air-conditioning; minor issues reported (small pool/jacuzzi not always cleaned, minimal toiletries, occasional water pressure/temperature concerns).

Good pricing for the quality offered.

Fairly priced for what was offered, though specific details were lacking.

Fair to good — reasonable prices for water and general services, some complaints about small price changes for breakfast but overall guests find the location and offerings provide solid value.
