Sigiri Sierra View Resort

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The hotel is in a lovely, quiet location, with spacious and clean rooms and a beautiful pool area. But what really makes this place special are the people who work here. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. They offered to drive us wherever we needed to go for a very fair price and even got up extra early so that we could see Lion Rock at sunrise. Their hospitality went above and beyond. I accidentally left my swimming shorts by the pool, and after a quick message, they immediately packed them up and sent them to our next accommodation. Overall, an amazing experience and one of those places you remember because of the wonderful people. 11/10 – we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

El lugar está cerca del pueblo pero en un sector Muy tranquilo. El personal super amable. Nos guardaron el equipaje luego del check out y nos dejaron quedarnos en la piscina al retorno antes de continuar al siguiente lugar. Las fotos de booking muestran exactamente el sitio. Volveríamos sin duda

Por decir algo, como sabana usa una colcha a la que no estoy muy acostumbrado, pero bien.

Wszytsko było ok.

- Leuk ontbijten op de bovenste verdieping. - Het resort heeft met wat aanpassingen flink wat potentie - Prima ontbijt, had iets meer afwisseling in gemogen. - Goed restaurant in de avond.

- Het zwembad, super leuk zwembad maar er stond geen pomp aan om te filteren. Daarnaast werd er niet naar de water kwaliteit gekeken. Het water wad in het begin niet helder en later in de week groen. Ook zwommen er allerlei kevertjes in doordat het niet bijgehouden werd. - De badkamer was niet heel hygiënisch. De tegels waren niet afgekit waardoor er allemaal insecten achter kropen. Het slaapgedeelte was wel goed schoon!

Fijne ruime kamer met airco. Prachtig uitzicht op de Lions Rock op het dakterras. Daarnaast lekker ontbijt. En hebben ze een goed zwembad. Wat wij het fijnst vonden was de gastvrijheid van het personeel. Dit maakt dit verblijf echt een top.

Der Pool des Hotels war toll. Die Unterkunft verfügt über ein Restaurant, welches über eine grosse Menü-Auswahl verfügt.

Das Zimmer stinkte und man wollte sich so wenig wie möglich im Zimmer aufhalten. Ein penetranter Parfumduft lag bei Ankunft in der Luft, welcher einen Hustenreiz auslöste. Durch die Lüftung des Bades kam der Gestank, man musste also das Badezimmerfenstee offen lassen, damit der Gestank sich nicht ausbreitete. Das Lüften bewirkte Besserung, jedoch gibt es keine Moskitonetze, sodass sich Fliegen, Mücken etc. im Zimmer ansammeln.

Frühstück war toll mit leckeren Säften. Ebenfalls war das Hotel super mit einem großen schönen Pool. Besonders hat uns der grandiose Service gefallen. Wir bekamen Ausflugstips, einen Fahrservice mit dem TukTuk und allgemein ein rundum sorglos Paket. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Dino und sein Team für die Tolle Zeit.

Łazienki powinny być doczyszczone niektóre elementy juz wymienione bo są zardzewiałe i zakamienione. Wszędzie tez byly potworna ilość much. Także w pokoju i pomimo uwag personel nic z tym nie zrobił a wystarczy kupić spray na muchy... to hotel w dżungli i robactwo jest oczywiste ale takie ilości much nad basenem i w pokojach są dla mnie nowością. Komarów za to praktycznie nie było. Nie wiem tez jak to sie dzieje ze na zdjęciach nie widac ze przy basenie jest plac budowy... no i położenie hotelu jest takie ze na spacer nie wyjdziesz po zmroku bo odległości sa zbyt duże do miasteczka i Wszędzie tez krążą bezdomne psiaki.... z różnym nasatwinjem..

More choice for breakfast and fridge in room

We werden vriendelijk ontvangen bij Sigiri Sierra View Resort en kregen direct hulp met onze bagage. De medewerkers staan duidelijk open om je met van alles te helpen, wat zorgt voor een prettige en gastvrije sfeer. Het resort heeft een prima zwembad met voldoende ligbedden. Er zaten tijdens ons verblijf wel wat vliegen en kleine beestjes in het water, maar verder was het een fijne plek om even te ontspannen na een dag op pad. De locatie vonden wij erg prettig. Het resort ligt net buiten het centrum, aan een rustige weg. Met de tuktuk ben je binnen ongeveer 5 minuten bij de verschillende restaurantjes. Ook is het een goede uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan Lion Rock en Pidurangala Rock en voor het maken van een olifantensafari in de omgeving. Er is bovendien voldoende ruimte om je tuktuk op het terrein te parkeren. De kamer was netjes en prima van formaat. Er was een koelkastje aanwezig en de airconditioning werkte goed. Het ontbijt was eenvoudig maar voldoende, met onder andere toast, jam en fruit. Tegen betaling kon je eventueel nog een verse jus bestellen.

Een verbeterpunt is de badkamer. Deze had naar onze mening iets schoner en netter kunnen zijn. Ook was er soms een wat onaangename geur aanwezig.

La mia camera era piena di mosche, il bagno emanava un odore tremendo di prodotti chimici. Ho anche trovato uno scarafaggio. Per 2 giorni abbiamo avuto problemi di acqua e ci hanno dato un altra camera per la doccia che non era male, diversa da quella nostra.

La piscina i l’entorn son fantàstics.

La neteja del lavabo podria ser millor i en un poble on les atraccions son anar a Lion’s rock ben aviat o de safari, l’esmorzar podria ser una mica més flexible.

La ubicación es perfecta y la piscina y el entorno son ideales.

La habitación y el baño no estaban muy limpias y las instalaciones del baño deberían mejorar.

Beautiful property and staff were fantastic. The room was well stocked with plenty of water, tea, coffee etc. breakfast was amazing too. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Прелестное, уютное место совсем рядом с большой достопримечательностью. Шикарный вид, радушный персонал, искренне старается сделать пребывание приятным и расслабленным. Везде чистота. Бассейн с теплой водой и атмосферной подсветкой очень порадовал после подъема на скалу)) завтрак с видом на Сигирию прям в самое сердце. Кондиционер работает отлично, ночью кругом тишина и только звуки природы. Соотношение цена/качество просто 10/10.

Малость скудный завтрак - яйца, тосты с джемом, фрукты. Вкусно, качественно, утренним малоежкам будет отлично, просто я немного не наелась)))

L’hôtel est très agréable, les chambres sont propres, le personnel très gentil. La piscine est super pour les enfants et très appréciable avec la chaleur. Très belle vue sur le rocher du lion. On peut observer quelques singes et écureuils dans les arbres autour :) Le cuisinier prépare de super bons plats et le personnel est toujours à l’écoute et propose différentes activités pour organiser le séjour. Vraiment top!

Por decir algo la unica pega que pondria es que a la noche necesitas un coche o tuktuk para llegar al hotel.

Beautifully clean pool, amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Helped us organise safari to see elephant gathering and always happy to give tuktuk rides. Lovely warm showers.

The water stopped working at one point and when it returned wasn’t warm but this wasn’t really a problem as it only stopped for an hour in the morning once.

The location was good, property was clean and staff was courteous. They gave us good service

Habitaciones cómodas con buen A/C y limpias. Piscina excelente en un entorno tropical. El personal fue muy amable, nos solucionaron los problemas que tuvimos y nos hicieron pasar unos días agradables. Buen desayuno y aceptable restaurante. De las mejores zonas de Sri Lanka.

Arrange the safari with the guy in charge and it last only 2h instead 4h. Not correct, very disappointing. No hot water on the first day. Wifi never worked in the room and either in the dining area

Limpieza de las habitaciones, debajo de las camas estaba muy sucio, el polvo de los ventiladores, etc. el WC el día que llegamos olía muy mal. No hicieron las camas ningún día. El desayuno era un poco básico y repetitivo. Cenamos un día y no nos gustó, pollo y pescado muy secos. Un poco lejos de la zona de rtes, tenían que llevarte y recogerte en tuk tuk. Calidad-precio bien

The hotel has been recently renovated, the rooms are big, the bed was ok. The hotel is a bit rustic so be prepared, and is part of the adventure The best thing of the hotel is the Staff Dinu, Anushka, and Heshan did great and help us a lot with the tours around.

They don’t have shampoo, so bring your own. The breakfast is very tasty but is simple. A few more options would be good. The coffee could improve it was ok but with the view having a good coffee is a must.

Sehr bemühte und freundliche Gastgeber, der Pool war toll! Am Vormittag Sightseeings, am Nachmittag Pool war für uns die perfekte Kombination.Frühstück mit schön angerichtetem Obstteller. Wir haben auch ein paar mal dort Abend gegessen, das Essen war sehr gut, genauso wie die frisch zubereiteten Fruchtsäfte.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The location was quiet and relaxing, and all the staff were super friendly, especially Dinu, who went out of his way to help us and organise things like the Elephant Safari, temple visits, Sigiriya Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock for sunrise/sunset views. The rooms were clean with reliable hot water, the pool was great, and the food was delicious with generous portions. Would definitely stay here again!

Det var lækkert med en dejlig pool og vores børn nød at kunne bestille mad fra deres restaurant i løbet af hele dagen. Vi nød vores dage her meget og personalet var venlige og gode til engelsk.

Vi kunne godt mangle et køleskab i varmen hvilket vi har haft de andre steder hvor vi har boet. Vores ene værelse lugtede meget af kloak fra badeværelset. Men det har ikke forstyrret vores oplevelse af et virkelig dejligt hotel

La chambre est spacieuse avec climatisation. La terrasse devant la chambre pour pouvoir se poser. La piscine est très sympa. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Le personnel est très serviable, toujours dispo.

Attention l'application PickMe ne fonctionne pas, et on ne peut pas entrer/sortir de l'hôtel à pied de nuit à cause des éléphants. Il faut donc forcément se déplacer en tuktuk, et les chauffeurs du centre ville en profitent pour fixer des prix trop élevés.

La vue incroyable sur le rocher du lion, le restaurant était top aussi et les chambres sont superbes. Le personnel est au petit soin c’était top.

Wir haben zwei Nächte dort verbracht und haben es genossen, da es sehr ruhig und etwas außerhalb gelegen ist, was für uns aber kein Problem war. Man kann jederzeit von dort mit einem TukTuk in den Ort fahren. Das Personal war gut und wir haben einen ganzen Tag am Pool verbracht, welcher sehr schön groß und sauber ist. Das ganze Haus ist sehr sauber. Es gab super gutes Essen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Las vistas no eran muy espectaculares, no sé si por ser planta baja pero en las habitaciones bastantes insectos (cucarachas, arañas, escarabajos...) y salamandras. La piscina estaba muy bien y tenía opción de comer y cenar en el restaurante de arriba (un poco caro en relación a la calidad pero cómodo ya que el centro del pueblo estaba un poco alejado).

Hassle free check in and check out. No disturbance apart from the construction Ideal for a travel break and bed and breakfast. Anyone visiting sigiriya or dambulla very economical. Quite close to the rock and the viewpoint. Excellent view of sigiriya and pidurangala from the dining area.

Maybe bring in the bikes for rent. Keep the common areas a bit tidier.

Très bon séjour à Sigiriya, ce que nous retenons surtout, c’est Dino ! Un grand merci à lui pour sa gentillesse, sa disponibilité et toute son aide : conseils de visite de restaurants, organisation des transports, et même des trajets en tuk-tuk à un très bon prix. Il a rendu nos premiers jours au Sri Lanka simples et rassurants. Il a même été disponible lorsque nous avions des questions après notre séjour à Sigiriya. Je recommande vivement !

The hotel is clean and well air-conditioned, the views are perfect and the food and service were first class.

We are bad sleepers and jet lag was still weighing on us, so we were a bit bothered by the creaky bed and the lack of proper blankets and blackout curtains. The sounds of the jungle can also be disturbing. If you are a good sleeper, these should not be a problem. Also, the toilet was a bit incompletely cleaned, but this did not bother us.

The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet natural setting just outside Sigiriya, only about a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride from the village. The surroundings are green and peaceful. The pool area is nice and appears to be cleaned and maintained daily. The room was spacious and the staff were friendly and willing to help when asked.

The biggest issue was the humidity in the room and bathroom. The building seems to have poor ventilation, which makes the room very damp. There was visible mold on the curtains and in the bathroom. The bathroom windows are permanently open and cannot be closed, which seems to be their way of dealing with the humidity but it does not really solve the problem. Cleanliness could also be improved — the floors were dirty and the bed linen had stains, although the staff changed the sheets immediately when we mentioned it. The room also had limited space for storing clothes and belongings.

Great view of the Lion Rock, nice garden and pool (cleaned everyday), friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms were large enough, especially since we were traveling with a big luggage. Suitable for a short stay. Not a problem for us, but for the nearest restaurants we recommend traveling with a tuk-tuk, not on foot. They also have a restaurant on site, but the food is average. Otherwise, having a drink on their terrace is very pleasant. Overall, good value for money given the area.

Especially the bathrooms need a makeover. There was mold, unpleasant smell and no mosquito net so you can open the window. Also, there were no shelves in the bathroom. Cleanliness needs to be improved overall.

Spotkaliśmy w pod prysznicem karalucha, ale zdajemy sobie sprawę, że to są uroki klimatu tropikalnego oraz mieliśmy brudną pościel w jednym miejscu

The staff were very friendly and helped arrange tuktuks. The food was also very nice. The room was basic but clean. The pool was larger than it looked in photos. The location has views of Lion Rock.

The bathroom despite looking modern in photos was worn. The chrome fittings need replacing. There is no shelving for toiletries and limited in the bedroom. The pool towels could have been better. There were no cushions for the sunloungers and despite being given a blanket it was uncomfortable, so we were unable to spend hours around the pool, for us in our 60's we need a bit more comfort.

Das Personal ist überragend vor allem Dino ist ein super Typ. Auch nachdem wir nicht mehr in Sigiriya waren hat er uns bei der weiteren Reise unterstützt. Das Hotel ist etwa 20-30min zu Fuß und 5 min mit dem Tuk Tuk von dem "Zentrum" entfernt.Tagsüber machbar und bei Dunkelheit ist man auf ein Tuk Tuk angewiesen. Dino holt einen für 500 LKR ab, die anderen nehmen abends mindestens 700 LKR. Das Hotel ist zwar etwas abgelegen aber dafür liegt es schön in der Natur. Die Aussicht beim Frühstück ist schön. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung. Das Zimmer ausreichend.

Der Bau des Hotels ist außergewöhnlich schön. Vom Restaurant aus hatten wir den perfekten Blick auf den Lions Rock und ins Grüne. Es ist super ruhig und trotzdem ist man innerhalb weniger Minuten mit dem TukTuk in der Stadt. Der Pool ist sauber und einfach nur genial. Auf dem Dach ist eine PV- Anlage. Das beste sind aber alle Mitarbeiter. So herzlich, man kommt ins Gespräch. Sie haben gute Tipps und haben extra einen Kuchen zum Geburtstag organisiert. Wir kommen gern wieder ❤️

Lovely quiet location away from the town and good view of Sigirya Rock. Staff very helpful. A bit of a walk into town- fine during the day but dark at night so you might want to get a tuk tuk. Nice pool.

Sometimes a bit noisy from other guests playing music outside the room. This only happened once out of 4 nights stay. Would be good to have some bedside tables and lights.

Nadat we ons vorige verblijf waren ‘ontvlucht’, kwam de eigenaar ons met zijn tuk tuk ophalen. Dat maakte meteen een wereld van verschil en gaf ons direct een welkom gevoel. De accommodatie is erg gastvrij en de kamers zijn comfortabel en van alle gemakken voorzien. In Sigiriya kan het soms lastig zijn om een taxi te regelen, maar de mensen van deze accommodatie stonden altijd voor ons klaar en hielpen ons hier graag bij. We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf en voelden ons erg welkom dankzij de vriendelijkheid en behulpzaamheid van de eigenaren. De locatie is ook ideaal: op iets meer dan vijf minuten van het centrum, waardoor het zowel rustig als goed bereikbaar is. Zeker een aanrader voor iedereen die Sigiriya bezoekt!

Wir haben uns in diesem Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt. Es war unser erster Stopp in Sri Lanka und wir konnten direkt viele Dinge erleben. Ein gutes Frühstück, eine tolle Wanderung und eine kleine Safari. Der Mitarbeiter Dinu hat einen tollen Job gemacht und uns viel begleitet und gezeigt. Sehr herzliche Mitarbeiter, ein top Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis und eine gute Lage von der aus man viele Dinge erleben kann.

אי אפשר ללכת ברגל לאזור המרכזי, הדרך חשוכה מאוד ויש הרבה בעלי חיים. חדרים קטנים. לא כל כך נקי.

L’accueil était exceptionnel, le personnel s’est occupé de nous trouver des taxis pour nous rendre aux différentes activités. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et très bon aussi ! L’ensemble est plus que correct ✅

Het was net buiten het centrum in een rustige omgeving met zwembad. Er kan van alles geregeld worden.

De badkamer was echt in oude staat en had echt een opfrisbeurt nodig.

Le personnel est top, très sympathique et vous aidera pour les sorties dans les alentours. Nous avons fait avec eux un Safari à Hurulu Eco Parc (super expérience pour voir des éléphants), ils nous ont emmené en tuktuk à Dambula et Polonnorawa et nous ont accompagnés pour la journée à chaque fois. Le lieu est très sympa, la chambre spacieuse et la piscine agréable. Le restaurant a une super vue sur le Lion's Rock et on y mange très bien en plus ! Nous sommes restés 4 nuits 🙂

Si vous avez besoin laver votre linge attention il n'y a pas de machine à sécher et avec l'humidité le linge met quelques jours à sécher. Mais à part ce point tout était parfait !
