the location was excellent, we had so much fun exploring the area including the night market. With the hotel itself, it was in a league of its own, definitely worth staying. Staff were friendly, the hotel's design was world class, the attention to details in the architecture, finishes, and touches are top notch. It was a blend between traditional house and modern hotel. And everything was very clean. We would come back and stay again for sure.

Great staff, especially the front of house team. Polite, smart, professional and willing to help. Beautiful facade and exterior areas, good adaptive reuse of space explaining the architectural awards the hotel has won. Good instructional material highlighting the architectural and historical features. Clean and neat rooms. Gym is high quality for this kind of shophouse hotel. Note the swimming pool is only for sitting in, not for swimming, due to its depth, but still kudos for creativity.

Generic small dimly lit rooms, could be any hotel room in any country. No Peranakan flavour, eg decorative tiles, vases, etc in the rooms. Only the outside eg lobby, atrium, facade etc looks nice. The problem is this is a large hotel and it is difficult to decorate so many rooms nicely. Ultimately others like Majestic and 5 Heeren do a much better job of achieving a nice atmosphere. Rooms facing Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock have windows but were very noisy. I did not see any attempt to soundproof eg triple glazing on the windows, or acoustic panels. Parking is almost always full, which means the first come first served system is risky eg if one plans to drive the car out often, there may not be parking when you come back.

Baba House itself is a beautiful building and the room we had was sensitively modern and comfortable. There was a very good choice of breakfast available. The staff were friendly and helpful.

La camera, anche se bella e confortevole , mancava di una finestra apribile verso l’esterno, solo ricabate 2 piccole finestre con vista sul cavedio ( chiuse).per me un po opprimente è sensazione di poco riciclo d’aria. Colazione per europei migliorabile

Hotel molto carino, moderno e in ottima posizione. Alla sera proiettano anche film sulla parete del giardino esterno. Camera piccolina ma graziosa. Bagno molto bello e moderno.

Unica nota stonata è la colazione. Perfetta per gli asiatici ma non per gli europei/americani. Pochissima scelta: Cereali con latte e pane bruscato sono gli unici cibi non asiatici.

歴史を感じられる、とても雰囲気のあるホテルでした。建物に足を踏み入れた瞬間から、普通のホテルとは違う特別感があり、マラッカに滞在していることを実感できました。 立地もとても良く、ホテルから徒歩ですぐに街歩きや観光を楽しめるのが便利でした。観光の途中で気軽にホテルへ戻れるのも良かったです。 朝食も品数だけでなく質が良く、毎朝楽しめました。スタッフの皆さんも親切で、困ったときにはきちんと対応してくださり、とても頼りになりました。 立地、雰囲気、サービスのどれも満足でき、マラッカらしさを味わえる印象に残るホテルでした。

Nice hotel, quite surprising really. The facilities are excellent and the staff are very friendly. The location is also perfect being walking distance from the tourist area.

There was nothing bad. Parking is very hard in the front street when you arrive, but they do have a good parking area at the back of the hotel.

Albergo molto carino, posizione ottima per muoversi a piedi. Camera grande, molto spaziosa. Sul tetto ci sono delle mini piscine ( per 2 persone).

Purtroppo, non sapendolo, non abbiamo.chiesto una camera silenziosa e ci siamo trovati al primo piano direttamente sulla strada. Morale, abbiamo dormito pochissimo e siamo.stati continuamente svegliati dai rumori delle auto. La colazione, seppur abbondante di cibo salato, non aveva nulla di dolce, quindi, nonostante fosse compresa non l'abbiamo fatta.

Das Baba House ist ein ganz schönes Boutique Hotel mit einem besonderen Ambiente & in zeigt die Liebe zum Detail. Wir hatten eine JuniorSuite in der zweiten Etage, was sehr groß und hell war. Die Dachterrasse hat am Abend zum ausklingen des Tages eingeladen. Das Baba House liegt mitten in der Altstadt, sehr nah zur Jonker Street und dem roten Platz.

Das Frühstück ist sehr asiatisch, dass muss man mögen.

La ubicación, puedes ir al centro histórico andando en 5 minutos. Las habitaciones también eran cómodas y estaban limpias.

El desayuno ha sido muy malo. No hay apenas nada para occidentales, y lo poco que hay, al menos en esta ocasión, estaba seco y frío, daba la sensación de que llevase hecho varias horas. Pienso que está más enfocado al turismo asiático.

Beautiful building, cost and comfortable rooms, great location walking distance from Jonker Street. Friendly and helpful staff too.

Breakfast was over-subscribed and a little chaotic. The only disappointing part of the stay. There was nowhere to sit. The coffee machine put on a front, chugged, gurgled and took its sweet time to dispense, and when it made its mind up, it gave you half a cup of a very small cup of coffee as the queue to coffee extended behind you.

Restaurant mal situé, trop de passage des voyageurs qui pour quitté l’hôtel passe dans le restaurant / salle du petit déjeuner pour sortir. Trop de passage, trop de gens, pas d’hygiène. Beaucoup de bruit. Problème au niveau de l’accès à la chambre avec les valises (monter des marches pas de personnel pour nous aider). Problème également d’insonorisation, chambre donnant sur la rue, beaucoup beaucoup de passage et énormément de bruit. On entendais également les gens dans le couloir qui parlaient et qui fermait leur porte. Impossible de dormir. La chambre n’avait également pas de rideaux (vitraux donnant sur la rue avec lumière qui éclairait dehors la nuit) donc luminosité dans la chambre la nuit. Problème avec la Clim elle ne s’éteint pas et s’allume toutes les 15 min. Pas d’intimité dans la salle de bain , espace entre porte salle de bain et mur. Grosse odeur d’humidité dans les couloirs. Manque d’équipement (tables et chaises) chambre suite junior pour 3 personnes uniquement 1 bureau et 1 chaise. Pas de piscine juste une pataugeoire.

Location was perfect , walking distance to most core spots

Our room was facing the main road (in front of hotel entrance) so any bikes or cars revving at night will be SUPER LOUD. unfortunately that happens every 10mins to no fault of the hotel. It was a struggle to sleep.

Excellent location to walk to the main city attractions and the night markets.

The room was basic, they didn't supply washers or hand towels, the air conditioning struggled to cool the room as we were in full sun and a window in the bathroom had a dodgy lock so it banged. We had a stairwell at the entrance to our room and staff would use this door and it banged each time. The breakfast was ordinary, with many foods not replenished and the omelette and scrambled eggs were raw!!

- The room were excellent, clean and comfy. - The decor in the room and around the hotel was perfect to match the mood of the town and area. - Close proximity to Jonkers street (which has a great night market) plus the historical sites of Malacca centre - Great Baba restaurants nearby

- Did not have breakfast there but as I passed through the coffee house was not impressed with the spread of food

Geweldig mooi hotel vlakbij Jonkerstreet. Zeer mooi ingericht en zeer mooie kamers. Goede bedden en fijne regendouche.

Ontbijt is ruim, maar focus op Chinees. Voor ons westerlingen op de vroege ochtend iets minder en qua keuze zeer beperkt.

some items need to be fixed in the room such as the balcony door (stucked) and the bathroom door got some sound when open up/close but not a big deal. also maybe after this baba house can inform clearly that the balcony room got ‘internal view balcony’ and ‘outside view balcony’. i got room with balcony but surrounded by wall, no view at all.

Beautiful heritage building, excellent location, clean and comfortable room, and very friendly staff. Easy walk to all major attractions.

Despite notifying the hotel in advance, breakfast offered very limited options for guests with gluten and dairy intolerances, making it difficult to enjoy.

Location was very central right in the heart of the Heritage Village. Very well done in retaining the old heritage loo and feel in its overall design with modern amenities for comfort and ease

飯店位置非常好,走路就到熱鬧街區,去哪裡都方便!!服務人員親切,房間舒適,公共空間可以拍很多漂亮的相片~

房間隔音不好~可以聽到隔壁房間的聲音,還好每天都玩得很累,沒有因此影響睡眠!!

Location - 10/10 in the heart of Melaka, parallel to the famous Jonker Street just far enough away from the bustle and chaos of the night market (less than 4mins). Easy to catch a Grab taxi from here to the rest of Melaka Room - Super clean and spacious twin room with a great shower and comfy beds Staff - Amazing, friendly and accommodating especially the front desk team. I had my hands full the one day and the lady at reception helped me get to my room (which was on the third floor) Baba House exceeded my expectations and I would stay here again :)

Small note that the breakfast variety was a bit limited in terms of non-traditional local options but this is expected given the location.

The breakfast was great. The hotel was clean and well presented. Staff were well presented, but very shy.

Lunch and dinner were not even promoted, and nobody ate there. Alcohol was not permitted in the restaurant, and there was very little to choose from.

We love the breakfast, choice of Melaka 🙌❤️.. perfect location to stay in with, strategically located at the heart of attraction.. Friendly staff and always making sure everything is fine.. interesting decorations in the living area, suitable for photos session plus getting to know real artefacts of kampung like baba vibes.. Not forgetting the rooftop area! Chilling place to be especially at night. Overall my family members enjoyed the stay, and wish to comeback someday.

The smell at the centre walking area, understand there's a drainage flow so maybe the smell coming from outside happened to occur at that side. Maybe it can be improved 😀.

The location was convenient for exploring the area by foot. The service in the hotel was very good and friendly.

This is the perfect place to stay in Melaka. It’s a beautiful colonial style building in a lovely street. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need. We particularly liked the extra touches - lots of water bottles provided, a fridge for keeping water cool, tea and nightly sweet treats and nice soaps etc in the bathroom. We had a room with a balcony which gave us a bit more space. It was very good value for money. Staff were always friendly. We also appreciated the gym which had a good range of equipment. The location is great - close to Jonker St, some of the best restaurants and is walking distance to everything in Malacca. Note that the Grab pickup point is at the rear. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but there are lots of breakfast options nearby.

This is my second time staying at Baba House Melaka, and the facilities are just as new after a few years. The location is great too, as it is just a hop away from Jonker Street, and near the bus pickup/drop off point. The gym is also well-equipped.

The towels were a bit old.

Hotel location is superb. Breakfast is good. Staff is friendly. Its close to all the tourist places.

Rooms are too small. Its ok for 1 night stay. But no space to sit except the bed.

When we first arrived, the lady who greeted us didn’t even say hello. She just said you can’t check in yet and waved her hand towards an area around the corner where we could leave our bags. However, this wasn’t clear at all and we had to check again what she meant. Then when we did come back later to check in, it was more difficult than it needed it to be, and we were told multiple times that we did not have breakfast included. It was only when I retrieved the printed booking confirmation that I carried out with me, she finally accepted it. The room then had ants crawling all over the desk. We spoke to housekeeping the first time, and they came to clean, however when we came back later, there were even more ants climbing up over the walls, so after a manager came to check, we were moved rooms, however the room class appeared to be lower than we’d booked as it was much smaller. We also had the high tea while we were there but it was all a very strange affair and the guy serving us didn’t really appear to know what to do with us, and we felt he might’ve benefitted from some training from the hotel. Breakfast was also a bit cold and not much choice. Overall, our stay was not the best and not worth the money we paid.

the location

The blanket is not very clean. It not look white. The blanket look very yellow and dark. Not so comfortable when seeing the blanket is not so clean.

Breakfast was great. Overall, it was a great stay. The location is also perfect as there were plenty of choices for food and bars. There is a heritage museum nearby which was very interesting.

Some guests at breakfast did not behave well as in they were rather intrusive and in one instance, double-dipped at a food station which was disgusting.

We had a wonderful stay at The Baba House Melaka. The room was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, making it easy for us to rest between our meals and shopping trips. Because of the hot weather, we found ourselves returning to the hotel several times a day, and it was always such a pleasant place to come back to. The staff members were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We truly appreciated their warm hospitality and hard work. The welcome drinks were a lovely touch. We also enjoyed the daily snacks, soda, bottled water, and especially the evening snacks that were delivered to our room. The lobby was cosy and comfortable and we were very thankful for the early check-in after our long coach ride. The location is fantastic — close to all the main attractions, cafes, and shopping areas, yet quiet enough for a restful stay. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would like to sincerely thank all the staff for their dedication and hospitality.

The only downsides for us were the weak network connection in the hotel and the breakfast food safety concern. Some items, such as the siew mai and congee, were served cold, which was quite disappointing.

This was a beautiful, luxury feeling boutique style hotel that took care in every detail. Some of the hotels I stayed in during my travels in SE Asia felt like they were shiny on the surface, but missed the mark however, this hotel was immaculate, and it really felt like a five star experience with all of the attention to detail. I also loved the outdoor movie in the evening and the proximity to all of the sites was perfect..

We had a room with a balcony and while the balcony was beautiful, it was located at the back of the hotel without a view. This is just a small complaint and did not take away from our stay.
