Son River Homestay

Soba je bila uredna i lijepa, lokacija uz rijeku jako mirna, a blizu sadržajima iz centra, domaćica nam je pripremala jaaako ukusna jela, i dogovorila divnu turu po lokalnim špiljama. Preporučam!

Gặp gỡ Phong Nha vào 1 ngày trời đổ mưa. Homestay nằm ngay sát bên bờ sông Son, may mắn đặt được phòng có ban công view sông nước hữu tình, ngồi ngắm chill chill mà giá cả phải chăng. Phòng ốc rộng rãi, sạch sẽ, đầy đủ tiện nghi. Chủ home nhiệt tình, chu đáo. Đặc biệt cô chủ nhỏ rất dễ thương.

Phuong, la proprietaria, è stata favolosa. Molto gentile, sorridente e attenta ci ha aiutati ad organizzare diverse attività in modo super efficiente! Presso la homestay è possibile utilizzare le biciclette oppure noleggiare lo scooter. Phuong ci ha anche aiutati nel prenotare il bus per il nostro spostamento successivo. Abbiamo anche usufruito della lavanderia. Servizio impeccabile! La camera era grande e pulita, dotata di tutto l’occorrente. Ottima la posizione sul lungofiume, con una vista bellissima sulle montagne e sull’altra riva! Buona anche la colazione! Consigliatissimo!

Super séjour dans ce Homestay qui correspond à mes attentes, l'accueil est adorable. Nous avons réservé une excursion et confié notre linge à laver ainsi que réservé un taxi pour la gare. Tout s'est très bien passé. Les vélos à disposition sont un vrai plus: possibilité de faire de très belles balades au départ du homestay et de rejoindre le "centre ville" plus rapidement qu'à pied. Nous n'avons pas eu l'occasion d'emprunter les paddles mais nous nous sommes baignés dans la rivière.

Très bonne guesthouse, très bien située pour qui aime la nature et le vietnam authentique.

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans ce homestay. La gérante est super sympa et très arrangeante. Le lieu est top, avec un coin tranquille au bord de l’eau où l’on peut se baigner.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was nice and clean. Nice view overlooking the river (in which you can also swim). Bed was comfortabel, and I liked that they had a reading light next to the bed. Breakfast was really good and the people working there where really helpful with any requests. It's a little further from the main street, but I personally liked this. They provide free bicycles and with these you'll be there in a short time. Bonus: It's also a 1 min walk to a vegan restaurant where I had some of the best bahn xeo I had in Vietnam.

Un peu à l’écart du centre ville, donc super calme et agréable, avec en plus une petite terrasse juste au bord de la rivière. Grande chambre, accès à un petit balcon et personnel très sympa et aidant.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place right by the river — perfect if you’re looking to relax away from the noise. Just keep in mind this is a guesthouse, not a hotel, which actually makes the experience more personal and special. The hosts were wonderful — very kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. And the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend!

De eigenaar was heel aardig en hielp goed! Haar dochter nam ons meteen de eerste avond mee suppen op het meer wat heel leuk was! Het ontbijt was simpel maar lekker en werd vers bereid voor ons in de ochtend.

Ventilatie in de badkamer was niet zo goed waardoor er schimmel op het plafond zat. Naast dit was alles prima en had de homestay een fijne douche.

Stanze grandi e pulitissime, bagno moderno con doccie alte (sono alto 1.83 e a volte devo stare rannicchiato sotto il getto). Il letto è comodissimo e la stanza silenziosa. La posizione è fantastica, a 1 km dalla partenza per la grotta di phong nha e vicino ai campi di riso per immergersi nella natura. Il cibo è buonissimo e ad un ottimo prezzo rispetto ai ristoranti vicini. Ci sono tavoli con vista fiume e monti, e una zona con amache per rilassarsi in riva al lago. Forse il miglior hotel in cui sono stato in vietnam fino ad ora, sicuramente il migliore per qualità prezzo. Ve lo consiglio Inoltre la proprietaria mi ha aiutato a prenotare il trasporto per Hoi An

Sehr schöne Lage am Fluss, gute Betten und geräumiges Zimmer sowie Bad. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr freundlich und bietet eine große Auswahl für die Freizeit an. Man kann über sie Touren buchen, Motorroller ausleihen und Busticket kaufen. Fahrräder stehen kostenlos zur Verfügung. Bier, Wasser oder Limo kann man im Haus kaufen. Das Frühstück beinhaltet eine Speise nach Wahl von der Karte und ein Getränk.

In meinem Zimmer gab es leider keine Bügel, aber ich konnte mir auch so behelfen. Wer sich auf dem Zimmer Kaffee oder Tee zubereiten möchte, sollte vorher im Supermarkt Teebeutel und Instant Kaffee besorgen.

Hele lieve hosts, heeeerlijke pannenkoeken (als ontbijt), en staan altijd voor je klaar! Ook is de locatie top en kan je er direct een scooter/fiets huren.

Je kan de rekening alleen met cash afrekenen en alle ATMs in phong nha vragen hoge fees.

All is good, family is really friendly and helpful, also with tours and transportation. The view is so nice. Breakfast basic, but very tasty. Good value.

Great homestay with a beautiful view. The hosts were very kind. They did our laundry, arranged a motorbike and made good food! We stayed here for 6 nights and loved every minute.

We had a great time at Son River Homestay. The hosts are very warm and welcoming. They will help you with anything you need (tours, laundry, buses etc.). We loved the location, it was perfect. Lots of cafes and restaurants beside it. It is a tiny bit away from the busier Main Street but super close to walk or cycle (5mins) in and on just one safe road to get there. The bikes are free to use as you please which we loved and which was very very handy. The scenery at the Homestay is the best. We had a nice breakfast each morning. The room was comfortable and clean with hot water in the shower. The hosts allowed us to store our luggage after check out and use the bathroom and shower while we waited for a night buss. We recommend.

Cozy homestay along a beautiful river. I reserved 3 rooms for my friends and I...all the rooms were sparkling clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were also very clean. Quiet neighborhood with many restaurants nearby. The breakfast that the homestay served us was delicious. Also, Phuong...our host was great with a great smile.

I absolutely love this place! It's my home away from home in Vietnam. Such a friendly family, lovely location, comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms, and a tremendous value. I can't recommend it enough.

We had a strange experience starting from the arrival, we went to another place with similar name about 1km away. The manager from the other place said that happens very often. Grab driver was also confused. We rent a scooter with Son River Homestay with the tank nearly empty. The lady said that would be enough to get to the petrol station. We rode 2minutes and the scooter died. We had to push the scooter for 10min to get petrol under a 38degree heat 🥴 I called the manager, he advised to get petrol from one of the vendors on the side of the road, which was overpriced. Breakfast was very very basic. Looked like they weren't prepared to serve it or didn't have the desire. The room had no fridge, you can hear the guest next door.

I can only recommend this Homestay. The family is super nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and we had a beautiful view of the river and the mountains.

The room was big and there are communal balconies which look over the river. Near to a vegan restaurant.

Home stays are very popular in phong nha. The staff was as accommodating as they could’ve been. It’s a lovely town, this stay is well located within the surrounding activities.

Amazing place to stay in Phong Nha. It was approximately 20 minutes' walk to the main street, but this was not an issue with the free bicycles. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast and coffee in the morning were great, and the lady was so lovely she helped organise a tour, motorbike and onward bus tickets.

The hostess was kind and helpful. We went for the marathon and our shoes got dirty and we wanted a place where we could wash our shoes and she gave us a bucket & brush & soap! Also let us used the bikes to get around town (super helpful when we could barely walk) Highly recommended. Room was clean and spacious and comfortable too. Location was walking distance to marathon start point which was the tourist centre.

We got free breakfast even if we didn't book it. Awesome view from the balcony. Cozy. Friendly Staff. You can rent Motorbikes there for 150 000. Also 3 free bikes available but I didn't try them.

It's 25 min walking distance from the "central backpacker Hostel" (where the Bus arrives)

Good hotel

Great peaceful location about 3km out of the main town - you can borrow bikes or have a nice walk to get to the departure point for boats to Phong Nha cave. Many restaurants in a close proximity. The room was clean and comfy. We could also rent a scooter to drive to Paradise Cave - you can make a loop to get back to Phong Nha, it's a beautiful drive.

When it comes to Grab taxi's you need to be lucky. I was able to get a grab taxi but some days no Grab taxi in the area. There are taxi's downtown. That's like a 30 minutes walk.

I would have given it 10 but they charge for extra water. Other than that, helpful staff and great nights sleep in a clean and comfortable room. Perfect place to stay if you're wanting to do a tour trekking the jungle and caves. Beautiful area and great view by the river. They did my laundry very quickly and I was very grateful after the muddy, wet, trip I did while staying in Phong Nha.

Staff was friendly and okay communication.

Honestly, I don’t really know why this place gets such a high rating. Windows are dirty and full of dead insects, walls are also covered in cobwebs. The wool blanket on the bed was filthy and smelled really bad. We didn’t use it and used our towels als blankets.

Host didn't let us in in Son River because he was apparently overbooked but like at last minute (and just because we texted him about our arrival time). He did offered us to go to another homestay of his property but was far from the center where we wanted to stay. He seems like he was kind and available but at the same time he seems like he wasn't really happy about our arrival time and he was pushing for us to go to the other place.. Also when we were asking infos about buses to Ninh Binh he was giving extra charged prices (800k/850k when you can find something else cheaper outside). Honestly there are tons of hotels and homestays so you can find something else for the same price or 1/2€ euros more very easily.

Beautiful little homestay just outside of town, about 25min walk but still with plenty around & stunning views of the river/mountains. Good price with breakfast, host family were very friendly & has bicycles to use for free.

Good solution for short stay, room was good and enough space for two people. Free bicycle.

30 minutes walking from main area

Our host was so friendly and helpful, and the room was perfect, plus the home cooking was amazing, every meal spent looking at the beautiful view. Being a little bit away from the busy part of town made it so relaxing but not isolated.

Really nice place in Trang An, closeby the river and also quite close to all places to visit. The people were super nice and friendly and the room was beautiful and clean. You can rent a scooter there or use the free bicycles to get around. We had a great time here ❤️

The staff were lovely and really helpful. Helped us book buses and tours. We arrived at 4am and check in was fairly smooth. Room size was good and there was a communal balcony with a good sunset point. Room was clean and a good shower. Enough restaurants close enough to not always have to do the walk into town.

Having to switch on the hot water which sometimes ran out during a longer shower. Beds are a little uncomfortable. But given we paid about £6 per night not much to complain about.

The owner of the homestay are really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and big. I really enjoyed my stay there.

Really enjoyed my stay here, beautiful location and just a short cycle from the centre with a simple but nice room. The family are so lovely and helpful with anything you need and the breakfast is good as well

The property’s value and location is excellent, it’s right next to the river. The family that operates it is incredibly kind, helpful and knowledgeable. They can book tours, busses, and Katie even helped me get medicine from the pharmacy in town for my foot. Le’s cooking is delicious, btw! Phuong is also very helpful -thank all of you!
