Reviewed Sep 7, 2026I liked the position as it could be accessed from the bus at the top of the hill as well as walking down charming Hauteville, Victor Hugo’s part of town.
The property was compact but offered a great breakfast plus our room had a large window and view that showed the sky and lots of green vegetation.

Reviewed Sep 2, 2026Outstanding breakfast! having lived in Guernsey until recently and being familiar with the location was expecting the hotel to be on a hill but it isn't that bad, Guernsey is all hills and if you cannot walk to and from town to the hotel the island isn't for you. I have COPD and was untroubled.

Aucun accueil à l'arrivée, on nous a ignorés Nous avons sonné à plusieurs reprises, et attendu pendant 15 minutes avant de voir quelqu'un. La personne a refusé de faire l'enregistrement avant 15 heures et nous a dit de laisser nos bagages dans coin sans surveillance. Dans l'ensemble c'était cher par rapport à la prestation.

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026Nous avons passé une nuit à Marton Guest House, chambre confortable, salle de bain un peu vieillotte mais fonctionnelle et tout de même bien équipée. Le personnel est serviable et amical. C'est un peu loin du centre, 16 mn à pied dans une rue qui monte mais tout à côté de la maison de Victor Hugo. Chambre un peu chère pour la prestation comparé à nos logements en France, mais ce sont les prix de Guernesy en livres.
La salle de bain qui était un peu ancienne.

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Das Zimmer war ruhig, das Bad war groß. Sowohl vom Zimmer als auch vom Bad konnte man auf die Stadt St. Peter Port schauen. Bett war sehr bequem. Schrankplatz leider zu wenig. Frühstück war sehr gut. Durch eine Menükarte konnte man das Frühstück (engliches Frühstück bis hin zu Pain perdue) auswählen. Das Partner-Restaurant (Pandoro) war sehr gut. Lage am Berg: Bushaltestelle ca. 200m entfernt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, und hilfsbereit!
Bauartbedingt leider kein Fahrstuhl zu den Zimmern vorhanden.

I wish they started breakfast service a little earlier, as it can be a bit of a rush when catching the ferry back to the UK.

Un peu isolé par rapport au centre-ville. Mais hôtel très tranquille.on ne peut pas tout avoir!!

Le petit déjeuner est "royal", avec la possibilité de choisir la formule qui nous convient, à la carte. Relative proximité du centre de Saint-Peter (15 mn à pied), dans la même rue qu'Hauteville house (maison de Victor Hugo).
Bien prendre en compte que l'accès se fait par une rue en forte pente (ou par une rue en escalier).

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026Nous avons apprécié de pouvoir arriver entre 21h et 22h, il y avait quelqu'un pour nous accueillir à la réception. Le Copenhaguen Bar & Grill à 2 pas a bien voulu nous servir après 21h (mais avant 21h30) - bonne cuisine Excellent petit déjeuner anglais Calme et confortable
TV : connectivité aléatoire (difficile de suivre le match de la coupe du monde) L'absence de volets (classique dans les pays du nord, mais les lits pourraient être placés par rapport aux rideaux de manière à moins en souffrir...) Absence de prise de courant française ; celle du rasoir n'a pas fonctionné. VMC bruyante dans la salle de bains (mais un interrupteur permet de la couper) La plupart des restaurants dans le coin ne servent plus après 21h Pas trop loin du centre mais du port il faut même compter une bonne vingtaine de minutes à pied et une bonne montée pour y accéder.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Breakfast was very efficiently served (though the pastries weren't replenished after other guests had taken them all). The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a plug-in fan in the room.
The room was a double, meaning of course that it was for two people. But there was only ONE chair in our room. If one of us sat on it, the other person had to sit on the bed. There was enough space for another chair in the room - even an upright chair or a stool would have been better than sitting on the bed! Perhaps this could be considered for future guests.

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Traditional guesthouse, very nice and clean. Room was very nice, pleasant view of the garden. There is a hill to get up to the hotel from Saint Peter Port, but it was not too bad. We did the walk a couple of times and it was OK. We would certainly stay there again if we visited Guernsey.

Reviewed Jul 1, 2026The receptionist was very friendly and kindly pointed out the water fountain where we could fill water bottles. The room and bathroom were very clean, towels were good quality and the location was very quiet. The walk from the ferry port was accurately advised as a 25 minute walk uphill. The sister property - Pandora Hotel - served an excellent dinner. Would recommend it as it’s only a five minute walk away.
The strip blinds do not provide blackout and no roll down blind or curtains were provided. Therefore, as a light sleeper I was awoken by the light at 5am. The mattress was a spring mattress that was not very comfortable and you could feel the base under the mattress. The room was on the third floor and reached by a narrow spiral staircase, which was tricky when carrying luggage.

The room needs a lot of updating from the furniture to the decor. There were stains on the blinds, the hotel information folder and the walls. There wasn’t a socket near the mirror. The Tv was tiny and had no capacity for online viewing. The breakfast was basic so we decided not to bother.

Das Hotel befindet sich auf meinem Hügel, mit Koffern lieber mit einem Taxi zu erreichen, aber vom Hafen ohne Koffern in 10-15 min locker zu Fuss. Schöner Garten hinterm Haus, sehr ruhig

Bed small and very uncomfortable - mattress needed replacing long ago. TV worked for around 2 minutes and then went fuzzy. Bathroom was very dated with mixed colour sanitary ware and shower was either too hot or too cold as the mixing from the bath tap was ineffective. Location may put some people off as is at the top of a hill - but OK for us
