There was a lovely vibe on arrival. Emma (I think that’s her name) the bar staff was brilliant. Kate has not had the place long but has a lot of passion to make the necessary changes. Even though tired and rough round the edges, it has a warmth about it. I would not hesitate to stay again when i need to return to the area for work. I look forward to seeing what Kate does with the place.

It is quite tired and felt dirty in places but the basics were clean. Strong smell of cannabis (not smoked on site) from some customers. Unable to have a tea of coffee as no facilities in the room. Staff willing to make you one but you need to go to the bar. Not open until 8am so no tea/coffee if you need one when you wake. Very loud train right outside the window. Food is very basic but other options nearby.

I left as sun as the sun came up had a weirdo in the hall naked shouting giberish early hours of the morning, got my kids up and left ,wouldnt ,recommend, dirty needs doing up ,no kettles in rooms,and TV,s didnt work i didnt sleep at all kept doors locked, going men was rude,horrible place.

Kate, la réceptionniste, qui se transforme en cuistot pour préparer un excellent petit déjeuner. On sent l'hôtel familial par excellence, où l'accueil du client est essentiel.

N'y allons pas par 4 chemins. La situation géographique est très éloignée de Birmingham (30 minutes de bus, au moins, mais avec le bonus que l'arrêt est juste en face de l'hôtel). Et en période de canicule, l'hôtel ne dispose pas de climatisation. Pas grave pour une nuit. Non, le pire, c'es de ne pas disposer, même sur demande, d'un sèche cheveux...

It was convenient for us attending a funeral in the locality. It was basic but immaculately clean and great value for money. The staff were lovely and helpful. The area was full of takeaways and restaurants and we had a great Turkish meal

The kitchen was closed by 8.30 The stair carpet was grubby

Friendly staff, accessible parking, room was quiet and clean. Plug sockets conveniently located for phone charging. Shower had excellent water pressure and temperature control. A basic, simple room that was excellently located for us visiting friends nearby. Bed and pillows surprisingly comfortable - better than several more expensive places we’ve stayed.

There was no breakfast available due to a delayed delivery, the blind wouldn’t roll up as the cord was missing and the tv didn’t work. Bathroom needs a towel hook. Entrance stairs and landing carpet was a bit grubby but the room itself was very clean. No complaints at all though, none of this detracted from our stay.

The sink lacked a plug, and the television failed to function. There were no tea-making facilities in the room, while certain staff members proved unhelpful.

It was not clean, especially the bedrooms. I had no blind in my room, which was at the front, so had to hang towels up to cover the window so nobody could see me. Bathroom stank of mould and sewage. The carpet was disgusting and there was blood up the wall.

El primer día viernes 7/8/26, karaoke a todo volumen hasta las 23,30 cuando se acabó. El ruido en la habitación 1 era infernal pero comprensible. El sábado día 8 la música a un volumen tan brutal que vibraba la habitación y hasta saltaron las alarmas de incendio, a las 12,30 sin poder soportarlo más, tuve que bajar al salón y en plena fiesta desconecté yo mismo el equipo de música gritando varias veces “ music stop now “. Cuando volvía a la habitación para dormir alguien volvió a conectar el equipo. Tuve que volver a desconectar el equipo.

The location was good for our trip to Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

There was no food available even though it was advertised on line and on boards at the property. There were no coat hangers in the wardrobe, no shelves in the bathroom and no hooks on either of the doors (basically we couldn't unpack our clothes or toiletries). The TV didn't work as the aerial had been ripped out of the back of the TV (which the staff knew about), the toilet seat lid was totally broken off the seat (again, known by the staff). The room was clean but the windows hadn't been cleaned for a while as there were numerous (I presume) sweat marks on both windows. The shower was clean but the grout around the tray was missing in a number of places and (again, I presume) water would be able to leak underneath it. I also had to get a glass from the bar as there were no glasses or cups in the room. One other thing showing the lack of care by the staff at this property was the dying plants outside, nobody had watered them for a very long time.

The rooms were clean and comfortable the television did not work so the staff member changed our room there was a television that worked.

Struggled to park as not enough space, wasnt aware it wad a pub, too noisy couldnt sleep because of music, was facing another window so couldn't open window for privacy. No kettle for goodness sake, ive never in my life ever gone to a place without a kettle being there I so desperately needed a drink ( hot) before bed and first thing in the morning and what no tv these are just the basics, the carpet in the hall way was dirty could do with a deep clean. Reception was the bar.... The place could do wth a touch up and some repairs..... I didn't take any photos unfortunately, I really wish I had..

The window sad so much grime - dirt and dust in its groves with its top opening right into the room. it didnt look like the window had been opened for months. I have respiratory issues and that didn't help even when i coveredthe whhole length with a towel. The carpers on the dtairs are dirty. Thrre wqs no remote control for the tv in sight so no tv for me.

Basic!! No coat hangers, no TV, mould in the shower. Room was like a sauna, no fan. Shower door hanging off. Fire alarm went off at midnight for 20 minutes, no one came to tell us if it was a real emergency or not. Function downstairs finished at 1am.30 people or more leaning on cars in the carpark, fight ensued the police arrived, people didn't disperse until after 2am. Several guests left during this time due to the noise and commotion, the staff did not come out and try and help, no consideration for other guests. We left at 7am no staff anywhere, nowhere to leave the keys. Not worth it dont bother staying here. Given 1 star as couldn't leave none to do this review

Location was great. We were going to an event at Rodeos as it was a 4min drive away.

Room was a little cramped, bed was against one wall, so I had to crawl down to the end of the bed to climb out. The toilet seat was broken and a piece of card was covering a damaged fuse. Checking out the bext morning, everywhere was locked up and it didn't mention anywhere to leave the key. We had to knock the door and leave it with the cleaning lady. All that said, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

There was loud karaoke until midnight on Saturday night right below our room which kept us up. It would have been helpful to know because I would have stayed somewhere else!

The room had a few cobwebs that you could tell had been there for a while. The loo seat was broken. No parking. There are some nearby residential Streets you can use.

The bottom hallway was very dark with no light coming on when we were loading up our car. Room needed some serious TLC, there was holes and footprints on the walls, the fire alarm not attached to the ceiling, when I closed the toilet lid it came off and the shower was really smelly that I couldn’t face going in it for a wash. Was reasonably clean however the windowsill needed a good clean. We were also right next to the beer garden so it was very loud with people shouting to each other.

Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet, das Personal sehr freundlich. Check-in und check-out sehr einfach. Praktisch, dass man Essen und Getränke unten bestellen kann.

Schon etwas abgewohnt - trotzdem sauber und bequem. Leider kein Lift - schwierig mit schwerem Gepäck. Leider nur wenige Parkplätze vor dem Haus. W-Lan ist ausgefallen (1 Abend: super, dann Totalausfall)

Absolutely everything. The place should be bulldozed. Nothing but an HMO. DIRTY DIRTY PLACE. The air fresheners must have been weed as that's all it smelt of. No aerial lead in the back of TV. Manager on the phone was rude and unhelpful. Walls, filthy marks all over them. Limescaled shower heads. Mouldy shower cubicles, broken blinds, windows that don't close, no mention of noisy railway line. WTF????? NO KETTLE???? The barmaid after much wrangling managed to 'find an aerial lead' Kitchen not open despite food promotion everywhere. Chef turned up late for breakfast. Had to get hot drink from the co-op. No mattress or pillow protectors. Noisy people running up and down the stairs. Slamming doors where door closers not set properly..... Toilet roll holder on the wall BEHIND the toilet??? Holes in the window blind, no chord to close the window blind and edge of blind looked like a rat had chewed it..... Broken light switches, toilet brushes with poo and tissue on them. Broken toilet seat lid. Broken shower handle door. Ripped towels. Nowhere to hang anything as no hooks or hangers. No sink plug.... Shouldn't be advertised as suitable for families with the smell of weed and pool team members threatening each other in the foyer. Nowhere to leave the key, due to chef being late. It's fair to say the worst cheap and cheerful (not cheerful at all) place we've ever had the misfortune to book. Shouldn't be allowed to trade in the state it is in. Unfortunately I can only put 4 photos on, so you won't get the full experience that we had. Lucky lucky people. I can't say this was an isolated incident about 1 room as we booked 3 rooms. And they were all as bad as each other....

Friendly people when I arrived to check in and check out

Unfortunately the walls are very thin and I was kept awake both nights by noise of the surrounding bars and other guests. The TV was hanging on one of its brackets and the areal cable had been pulled out. The skylight window surround was very grubby.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Even when I was leaving in the morning chef asked me if I wanted breakfast or tea/coffee which sadly I didn't make time for, but was a nice touch.

The room had plenty of storage, very comfortable and clean, but perhaps a kettle in the room? I'm sure hot water would have been provided had I asked as the staff was great, but I was too tired after a long journey.

The staff at this place are very friendly and helpful. We needed a very late check in and a staff member went out of their way to ensure we'd be able to access our room whatever time we arrived. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. No pressure to eat in, just relaxed and welcoming. We just needed somewhere to sleep and park our car.

I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel. On arrival there was a strong smell of drugs throughout the building, including in the rooms, and the property felt dirty and poorly maintained. Because of this, I did not feel comfortable staying and decided to leave immediately. I was told by staff that I could apply for a refund through Booking.com. However, once I submitted the request the hotel refused to approve it. I have since appealed through Booking.com but the property has not responded at all. Extremely poor customer service and a very disappointing experience.
